These guys are amazing. I live out of state and less than 10 miles from my local dealer and I choose to get help from San Jose instead. I was referred to them by the fourm I am part of and was not let down in the slightest. That should tell the whole story.The customer service is awesome. Always a smooth experience shopping at their parts and accessories department. Woody helped me getting a new SHOEI helmet ordered. I was curious to see the helmet and try it on instead of purchasing online. They are an authorized SHOEI retailer. Woody took the time to explain everything to me and make sure I was happy with the purchase when the helmet arrived. They also have a great selection on ADV and Touring clothing in store.

I pass other dealerships for the parts counter staff at this location. They are always very helpful, personable and have solutions on hand for when I need a part as soon as possible. My daily rider is a BMW R Nine T and anytime my maintenance comes up, the staff always jumps to action to get me the right parts as soon as they can. Now I just need to make my way over to pick up a T-Shirt!

Writing this review is easy, Alexandra our saleswomen was very casual, competent and knowledgeable, she knew in depth all the details of the bike I was interested in, her level of expertise included her experience riding the bike. Frankly I only visited the showroom to take a look but after listening to Alexandra’s description and in depth experience with the turbo Levo comp I decided to purchase it. She even showed me how to load the bike into my truck in a way that I had not seen before. My wife and I think she is a wonderful person and a damned fine saleswoman.

I had a fantastic experience with San Jose BMW.Cory was super helpful in sales. After receiving my new GS, he spent an extended amount of time going over all the functions, making sure my phone was connected, and even took me back to share worthy add-ons for his own GS. Although I’m an experienced rider, this bike has features unlike anything I’ve ridden before and his advice was worth it’s weight in gold.Bill from parts/accessories was also a great to work with. He was very informative and helpful in selecting new set of riding gear that I was in the market for.My experience with the service department is limited, although the lovely lady I briefly spoke with was equally wonderful.Truly a 5 star operation.

Willie, Amy, Alex, the folks at parts and service, and Cory were particularly fantastic. Willie was extremely knowledgeable about the bike, and his enthusiasm was genuinely infectious. Amy was super helpful in getting the paperwork done and tracking down people to answer any questions I had. Alex was very patient as I worked things out with my bank. Amy is a super star. The bike I was looking for was not in stock any where in California. The waiting period was 2-3 months. She did a trade with I don’t know how, she got me a bike in 2 weeks.The owner, I forgot his name, is also very patient guy. Explained every setting in the bike patiently answering all my questions. I can see why this show room is so popular.I cannot ask for a better buying experience.

I purchased my S1000RR with the M package from this dealership. The transaction went well, everyone was happy. I give them 5 stars for that.The first day I rode the bike, I hear clunking noises coming from the front of the bike. This is a brand new bike with 1 mile on the ODO. So I did some research and found that the bike has a very common problem with the front left suspension fork tube. It does not damage the bike in any way, it just causes the bike to make clunking noises. Since it doesn’t hurt the bike in any way (they claim), I decided to wait until the first service to let the dealer know about it.So first service comes and I tell them about the issue. They already know about the issue since it’s a common issue with the bike. So pretty much they were saying, there’s nothing we can do for you since all of these bikes make the same noise. First of all, I have done research on the problem, and found that not all S1000RRs make the noise. Probably a big majority of them don’t. And some of the ones that did, BMW agreed to replace the tube for them. Secondly, even if all S1000RRs made the noise, it doesn’t mean it’s ok and that we should just live with it. And that’s my issue with this dealership. Their message seemed to be, all the bikes do it, live with it. It doesn’t hurt the bike and therefore it’s not an issue. I’m sorry, but the noise IS AN ISSUE. A $25K+ premium bike should not be clunking!I don’t believe they’re going to make any kind of effort to try to help me in this case. I hope I’m wrong. I give them two stars… I’ll wait for some sort of response/follow up from them.Update: Pete, from SJ BMW, followed up with me yesterday to tell me that the head office did review my case and agreed to have my fork replaced under warranty. So I’m really glad to be proven wrong here. The original dialogue could probably have gone a bit better, but, in any case, SJ BMW came through and they’re going to set things right.I gave them 5 stars for the original purchase of the bike — I was really happy with that. First service hit a little bump, got some messages crossed, but they came back and ironed out the bumps. For that, I’ll update my rating to 5 stars.

If you need service this is the place to go. I was on a three week tour of the US and I needed a new set of tires. Pete, the service manager, got me right in. They changed the tires and resolved a problem with my wheel. Everything was done In less than an couple of hours. If I’m ever in the area and I need service, I won’t hesitate to go back. Good people!

Just bought the BEST motorcycle I have ever owned - and I have owned plenty! The 2021 R 1250 GS in the 40th Anniversary livery and with a lowered suspension! I had plenty to choose from at the dealership! The bike is a dream - no need for a Bentley motorcar now that I own the Bugatti of motorcycles! Every part of the experience was exceptional. Amy Hunter sold me a gem! Alex Hodgson made the paperwork and a trade-in a breeze. And, while I tried to stump him, Bill Asquith had every part I wanted - including boots in my size! The service team was outstanding and they had me completely set in 2.5 hours with a ton of gear! What a great experience and thanks so much to you all! Steve

There is a ton of dealerships that will sell you a motorcycle. But not all of them are able to keep you on road and are qualified to do all sorts of customization like SJ BMW does.I am their customer since 2013 and I had absolute satisfaction with their service department.I decided to customize my motorcycle for offroad riding and they were able to perform all the alterations to electronics and accessories to factory install quality.The service is not only competent but utmost friendly group of people who help you understand all reasons what it took to get your bike back on road.

I purchased a BMW S1000XR from San Jose BMW in June 2021. The customer service provided by sales manager Amy was nothing short of outstanding. I needed to buy this specific motorcycle for a cross country ride the following day and SJ BMW had the only one in stock in the Bay Area. Amy made a special effort to make my bike available and ready to ride that day. Throughout the process Amy went out of her way to make it happen for me. She even spent a significant amount of time after close of business to demo the bike’s features and set up Bluetooth and BMW apps. A class act all the way. I couldn’t be happier with SJ BMW and their staff. Thanks again Amy, the nine day ride was spectacular and you made it happen!

Two weeks ago my girlfriend spoke to the sales manager over the phone regarding a Ducati Hypermotard that they had. Only 100 miles on it, one of 150 made. She was trying to surprise me for my birthday. At 12:30pm in the afternoon, she said she was on her way and offered to give a deposit over the phone. She was told it was not necessary and that the bike would be held for her since she was on her way down. She drove almost two hours to the dealership to find that the bike had been sold to someone else. Standing there in the showroom crying her eyes out because of how they ruined my birthday surprise, these guys offered and did nothing. This is not the kind of dealership where you want to spend your money.

I just wanted to thank your team and you at SJ BMW. As you know yesterday I came in to the shop to get one of the spokes on the R1200Gs Rallye that I just purchased last Saturday (2-20-21).Pete and Justine took care of the issue quickly. The wait was not bad since Amy set me up on a Demo ride on the new R18 (which is an interesting bike).On my way home, on 680 N right around Milpitas, I got a flat tire and luckily was able to get the bike over to the right hand shoulder before the tire went completely flat.I called Pete to see what he could do and he went above and beyond to help me get the bike back to the shop. Randy picked me up in the transport van and brought me back to the shop. Randy was great and we had a fun conversation on the drive in 😊Pete worked his magic to get the tire replaced before closing time and I really appreciated this as this eliminated the need for me to come back all the way from Concord.I would really like to thank Pete, Amy, Randy and Justine at SJ BMW for making what could have been a difficult situation into one that I can smile about.

Stopped at this BMW Dealer/Shop on the last leg of a cross country ride from VA to CA. At the time I was in need of a tune up and new chain to my s1000xr. I wound up paying for a 12,000 mile service rather than a 6,000 service. This decision was made after the attendant checking my bike noticed that my brake fluid seemed old. Being that I had a major service completed 4 months earlier, I felt there was no way that the brake fluid could be old. Valuing safety over money, I went ahead and requested that they do everything that they could to get the bike back into spec so that I could continue my trip (including the brake fluid change)... The maintenance shop also found time to squeeze me in on a busy Saturday morning (being that I was in need of an emergency repair to my chain). The Mechanics had my bike feeling like brand new afterwards. Everything from the electronic suspension, brake lever, clutch lever to the kickstand was checked, adjusted and brought back into spec. The work and service that the Team does at this shop is A1. They addressed things that I felt were missed from service visits at another shop. I highly recommend San Jose BMW Motorcycles!

The devil is in the details, right?Got a service done and when I got my bike back, I could see something new: small paint marks on the critical screws, so that it is immediately visible if they get loose.So this shop not only cares about doing the job and getting the bike out, but also about your long term safety.Enough said, I’ll be back!

Cory in the Sales Department, John in the Finance Department and all the staff (Accessories and the Mechanic) were all very helpful and know how to treat their customers. It was worth the drive from SoCal to do business with them. Highly recommend if you are in the market for a new or used BMW.

Stay clear if you have issues with Zero motorcycle.They have no idea how to work on electric bikes, even when they are an authorized dealer.I brought a working bike with one faulty battery module, and after 6 months of fighting with them and Zero the bike doesnt work at all, both batteries and charger are dead. And they still charger me $270, even though they did nothing, just broke the bike more.They were not able to diagnose the battery, insisted on replacing main computer instead. Kept the bike for 3 months without charging it. The battery died completely because of that and they refuse to replace it, want to charge me $2800 for it.

Would not recommend for servicing a Zero. Inflated the hours on the services I asked for (for example, installing a rapid charger is 2.5 hours standard, with most dealers rounding up to 3 - these guys wanted to charge 4 hours). Further, despite making an appointment a week prior, and calling to confirm it, when arriving I was told that they wouldnt be able to get me in till the following week. The service order I had had the wrong services on it as well (for example motor commissioning on my bike is every other service interval but they put that on my order incorrectly).Labor rate is also the highest Ive seen in the Bay area at $175/hr.I get the feeling that they are not interested in servicing Zeros at all despite being a dealer for them. Another Zero owner I talked to said they were unable to order a part for his bike and he went elsewhere as well. Cannot recommend these guys in good faith.

I don’t like posting reviews but I feel like I need to here.The guys in the service shop probably don’t care anymore. Buying a bike was a great experience. Servicing not so much. They didn’t order all my parts in time and even though I specified loose/unaligned steering, the technician didn’t fix the loose handlebar mounts.They had the bike for a week, waiting for the parts they didn’t order ahead of time to arrive. On the last day, they noticed they needed different mounting brackets for the aux lights to mount on the new crash bars they were supposed to install.To top it off, the technician recommended changing break fluid at 18k service check even though the bike is at 17200 miles and I’m leaving for a several thousand miles long trip. Truly confidence inspiring service.Because of the late parts order and the job taking so long, I didn’t have time to do anything about none of this before my trip. I guess they have too many customers to care anymore and don’t have much focus or attention anymore, shame. Quick to nod, not so good in understanding what needs to be done to a bike. Will take my bike elsewhere next time, I don’t trust these guys to do what I need anymore.

Bought a bike there, they claim bike inspection done prior to selling. My bike came with front worn pads with less than 1mm left and a bad driving light switch. Who knows about the fluids, will not trust inspections. Do your own if you buy from them. Prices are competitive and very friendly. Salesman are not following social distancing with customers, no mask no plexy glass.Someone reach to me offering to replace the worn parts. That was a nice gesture and will up the rating for careing about customers feed back. Hopefully there will be improvement going forward. Thanks.

I was extremely satisfied with the way the entire staff helped throughout the buying process. I worked with Amy and she was very patient with me and was very helpful in narrowing the right bike for me. She helped me find what I believe to be the perfect bike. I met with the service manager, Pete and he went through all of the details of the service schedule and told me about the Pit Stop program which is perfect for anyone who rides. I then met with John and Bill in parts and they were able to guide me in the right direction as far as riding gear and a GPS unit for my new bike. Many thanks to everyone over at San Jose BMW.

You wont change the tires on my bike because you dont work on Suzuki? Fine, no problem. You grab my motorcycle as Im about to get on it? Not cool. I made sure I wasnt in the way, so you had no reason to move my bike. I told you not to touch it, and that I was getting on it right then. You shouldnt be touching my bike if youre not going to work on it.The guy working at the service desk was cool even though he was clearly overwhelmed on a Friday afternoon. The guy that came out of the shop was not cool. In fact, he acted like he wanted to start a fight. Even before he grabbed my bike.

I just bought a used R1200 GS and brought it to San Jose BMW Motorcycles for a service and to fix some issues I had with the bike.Pete did a great job providing advice, getting me an estimate and scheduling the service.When I dropped of the bike for the service, I was shown a number of available loaner bikes - great opportunity to play with a R1200 RT :-)The work was done as estimated and ready on time.Overall this was a pleasurable experience. The staff was friendly and willing to help. The work was done on time and on budget. I am a happy customer and will be back for any work that needs to be performed on my bike

Your experience with the service department may vary.Okay, the sales department is great. I went in to test ride a Zero SR a year ago and it was a pleasant experience. Since then, I got a Zero SR, got into an accident and had it in their service department for the insurance claim.Overall, they got the repairs done pretty quickly, given the damage. Randy was always helpful and attentive when I called him for updates.The reason I am giving three stars is because, when I picked up the bike, I unknowingly rode home from San Jose to Tracy (65 miles) with no working brake light and reversed rear turn signals. Apparently, their tech didnt check to make sure these worked properly before I picked up the bike. **This is a huge safety issue and I am surprised I didnt get rear ended because people wouldnt know when I was braking.** I had to ride back the next day and spent the whole day in SJ so they could fix these issues (most of the time was me waiting for the bike to charge so I could ride home lol).Overall, make sure you do a walk-around of your bike when you pick it up. Check lights, horn, braking, all the basic safety features.I am on the fence about bringing my bike here again. Well see.

Just took delivery of ’18 R1200RT. It was a special order so it took a LONG time to get here from Berlin. No fault on the part of SJ BMW - my timing was a little off.When I arrived to take delivery I was very impressed at how organized they were. One staffer walked me through all of the accessories Id ordered and made arrangements for a couple of items that were delayed.Next stop was to be introduced to the service dept and Service Manager. Got helpful and clear insight as to how they do business and what I could to do to make the best of my visits. Was able to schedule run-in service right on the spot .We got through the DMV paperwork and financials in 15 minutes (I LOVE that!)I was then walked through all of the major features of the bike and had all of my questions answered. My salesperson was VERY knowledgeable and just as excited as I was about my new BMW.I was a little nervous about first ride in an area I am unfamiliar with so arranged (for a very reasonable fee) to have the bike delivered (~70 miles away). The dealership was slammed with people taking delivery of new bikes and looking for their next bike so the Service Manager was unable to commit to a delivery date/time. That same evening my bike was delivered to my driveway (having been lovingly and professionally loaded into a large van purpose built for the task).I am extremely satisfied with the entire process of shopping, getting recommendations and insights, placing the order and finally taking delivery of this fantastic motorcycle.I am absolutely confident that SJ BMW will continue to take great care of me and my bike in years ahead.

Good and honest people. They have been servicing my Vespa 300 and K1300S for the last 6 years. I come in, they know my name and treat me like close friends, even inviting me to birthday celebrations in the shop. Great, personal, non pushy sales people. The parts department has a very informative staff that works in conjunction with the service department. And most importantly, the guys in the back that keep our bikes rolling are awesome and knowledgeable. Its good to know that when something goes wrong, my bikes are in good hands.

On a trip from Iowa to California my low beam bulb died. I called San Jose BMW and they got me right in to get it fixed. They also checked the bike and found some work that was needed on the front end. They did the work well, quickly and all under warranty. I was out of the shop in time for a nice ride back down the coast. Service was great.

San Jose has been servicing my HP4 since 2014. I recommend them without hesitation. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They go out of their way to accommodate my unusual track day specific requests. The latest was the Alpha V2018 race mapping of the ecu. Most importantly, they always manage to get my bike in and out between track days. I havent missed a single track day because the bike was sitting in the shop.

But as far as the customer service, and selection in store for the gear and accessories for my bike... these guys had a pretty selection, They even mailed home my old gear, that I could not carry home on my bike... set up my Sena 30k... and did it quickly,with great customer service... In my opinion, BMW is making some of the best bikes on the market today. San Jose BMW is my favorite dealership for many reasons. The people here are well educated on the line from bmw and actually care about what you want, need, your experience with them and very competitive prices. The service department is award winning for a reason. They are quick, thorough and i have full trust that when they work on my bike it is done right the first time. Parts has a very good selection of helmets, jackets, gloves (recommend y2 wheels) and aftermarket stuff. Highly recommend.

I came to San Jose for work from Minneapolis on my 2000 R1100 RT. The family was to follow later, so I was all alone, just me and my boxer- loaded down like a pack mule.Sure enough, on the 2000 mile trek, problems developed. Things started vibrating and grinding, and I hoped she would hold together until I could get into town and at least start my new job. Finally it got bad enough that I limped it into SJ BMW an hour before they opened. I would have to take a chance on an unknown shop in an unfamiliar city, because my bike wasnt going any further.The guys at San Jose BMW absolutely took care of me. A mechanic arriving early for work guessed (accurately!) at the problem, and reassured me that they most likely even had the parts in stock. They shifted their already busy schedule to get me back on the road the same day.As a stranger in town, with no friends, no support, and suddenly no transportation, I was utterly at their mercy. They went above and beyond the call to get me back on the road. I cannot say enough good things about SJ BMW. You were my angel of mercy when I needed it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and from depths of my boxer!

I was sent to BMW San Jose by BMW of North America after another authorized shop thoroughly screwed up my bike. Right from the get go these guys called often to update me on the repairs. Even with the warranty issues they coordinated with the other shop to pay for the damages, instead of making me deal with it. When I came to pick up my bike I was impressed how well informed they all were about my bike and the situation. Everyone was very laid back and great to work with. I will always use these guys for any repairs in the future.
