This location is tucked inside the Mitsuwa market as a corner store within their food court. Pretty good ice cream soft-serve spot for a quick dessert or sweet cravings fix. Their swirl combination parings are Black Sesame/Green Tea and Hijocha/Vanilla. The flavors such as the Black Sesame are not as strong and fragrant as they could be but if you appreciate more subtle flavors this might be the place for you. Pricing varies by size, the cost is the same for your soft serve in a cup or a cone.

I walked in like 10 minutes before close and was able to get seemingly the same great service as if they had just opened! The assistant was personable and had a great recommendation. The quality of this swirl was fantastic too. Both the matcha side and the black sesame side were unique and paired very well together.

I used to absolutely love this place....The flavor of the Matcha Green tea and the Hoji Cha are brilliant, I also like the Black Sesame. My favourite would probably be the Matcha Green Tea and Sesame Swirl. The Swirls are a bit on the softer side and and tend to melt a tad faster than other soft serves. I did get to try their Boba drink, which I thought was not on par with surrounding competition.They used to be cash only, now they take Credit Cards, for a while they had a $6 minimum purchase requirement

This also depends on the type of green tea that is used for flavor. Matcha Love is an awesome spot. I highly recommend it.

Im a huge fan of matcha. I even consume their matcha powder regularly.Ice cream wise, the place is good but Ive had better matcha ice cream. It was also disappointing to order an ice cream cone and expect it to come upside down with the ice cream face first in a cup. Like yeah I know, they do it to prevent messes... but its not very aesthetically pleasing and it ruins the idea of eating an ice cream cone. Who bites the cone before eating the ice cream itself?Not to mention, its also pricey. Their menu is also relatively small compared to other Matcha dessert chains such as Uji Time and Amausaan. Wish they had more flavors and product offerings to choose from.The customer service was also lackluster. The guy couldnt hear me and made me repeat my order several times. Just wanted 2 ice cream cones and a chocolate bar... Not that much to ask for.Would I come back? Mm maybe since I shop pretty regularly at Mitsuwa...but I wouldnt make the half hour drive to come solely for matcha love.

This was my fav place for Japanese soft serve, went in today to get hoji and vanilla it was a disaster nothing like soft serve at all and there was no hoji flavour at all and tasted like a coffee slush

I have been here lots of times, if you are a crazy MATCHA lover as me, definitely dont miss it! Plus, I hope matcha love will have more shops in SF, San Jose is kind of far!

Great tea-flavored soft serve. The Matcha is good but my favorite is Hojicha (roasted green tea). I also tried the black sesame today which was good. The workers are friendly and the line moves fast.

Very good ice cream. Not much I can say, they have 4 different flavors matcha, black sesame, vanilla and hoji. All are pretty good just the hoji has a different taste that I think some would have to take a few spoonfuls to have a better idea if they like it or not. As a note for people who have never been here before, the place is inside Mitsuwa and it is always busy on the weekend. Parking is a pain here at times but you get used to it after coming here for a while.

For the creamiest soft serve green tea ice cream, come here!! It’s located inside Mitsuwa Market. I’ve tried their matcha flavor and always love it, this time tried the vanilla and black sesame and all were fantastic! The cone bowl can easily be shared by 3 people. I LOVE ice cream and shared a bowl with my bf and we were sadly not able to finish the whole thing.There can be a long line and slow service (this has been confirmed on several visits) but I still find the ice cream worth the wait.

Horrible! Dont come here!!!Make sure u check ur bill before u pay or they will over charge u! Even thought its $0.50 it is the principle!We paid for the large Sakura & Hoji cup, and went around the corner to wait for our ice cream. We were hand our ice cream in a waffle cone, so we showed the server our receipt, she didnt look and just ask us if we wanted in a cup, we said yes then she put that ice cream into a cup and throw the cone in trash. Now that we r looking at the receipt, we realize we were charge an extra $0.50 so we ask the server why did we get extra change. She just said:its tax then I pointed out after tax is $5.46, and she said:ask the cashier. We re-lined up and 5mins later ask the cashier, she said Cherry Blossom is extra charge, then point to us a poster on the counter. I point out no where on that poster said there is extra charge for Cherry Blossom & Hoji cup, it only advertised the raspberry & cherry blossom mix! She keep saying there is then when she finally read it, she said you can talk to my manager. So I ask if the manager can come out, she reply:I can give you the phone number to him OMG I told her to call him and she just keep saying Ill GIVE u the number and you can call him ur self. WTF I cant believe such service so I left!I wasted 20mins of my time, my ice cream is kind of melty, I had been coming to this location for 4 years, many many stamps cards later, Im super angry at this kind of practice!So it will become my mission to tell everyone to stay away from this store!!!!!

After Santouka ramen, its a ritual to get ice cream afterward and cleanse the salty tongue with sweet, cold goodness. In order of preference: black sesame, hoji cha, matcha. I wasnt a fan of their seasonal azuki bean.

It’s a cute little matcha/boba tea/soft serve stand in Mitsuwa. I didn’t expect to buy a matcha iced latte, but I did and I’m so glad I did. I saw so much people go and I had to see what the hype was about. I loved the fact that they don’t charge for soy milk as well! My mom got the black sesame shake w/ boba, it was an interesting yet very good flavor. Would definitely go back. The two servers were nice enough to come bring me my drinks as well because they saw me eating ramen!

Soft serve ice cream in traditional Japanese flavors: matcha, green tea, black sesame and vanilla. Very creamy, but not too sweet. The waffle cup tastes like a fortune cookie.

The Madagascar vanilla had the most flavor. Black sesame had some flavor. The matcha green tea had the least amount of flavor. The soft serve was very dense and creamy. The waffle bowl is definitely not hand made. The booth is located in the food court area inside the grocery store. Not impressed with the quality.

I used to love this place, the ice cream was especially my favorite when coming here with my friends. However today, my experience with this shop wasnt so positive. First of all, the person who served me looked like she didnt want to be there at all and if that was just the problem then I wouldnt mind. However when I ordered the three types of ice cream with Matcha, hojicha, and black sesame, they didnt remember the Matcha flavor that I wanted. That wasnt just it, the person serving the ice creams didnt look like he wanted to be there at all either. And not just that, the ice cream quality sucked so much compared to the times I had it before. Especially the ice cream for the Matcha flavor had WAY too much heavy cream or something. I felt like I was literally eating cream cheese. It was gross and I was extremely disappointed by this shop that I loved so much before.

Their matcha shake is good. Gave them 3 stars because of their customer service. I ordered a Medium size and waited for 15 minutes, seeing people behind me receiving their orders like crazy. I kept asking when mine is ready and the girls said they are coming. That was so rude because i saw 3 orders of green tea shakes large size came out first even though the guys ordered after me. They have like 5 employees and the store is small, but this is how they work. Smh.

The hojicha [roasted green tea] is my favorite. It is so creamy and not too sweet. The service is lacking but the taste is great!

I love this marketplace but this store doesnt always serve the best matcha. I know!! Im probably the first person saying it out loud but matcha needs to be poured at the right temperature and served right.Staff here are no longer that professional to know this.Last time we ordered 2 matcha drinks. One was hot and burning the other was cold as ice. We asked why and they said the ran out of hot water !!!!!!

Great japanese soft serve place! I love their black sesame and match, and I usually get a swirl with those two or one of the flavors by itself. The prices are very reasonable and you can also stop by the ramen shop next to it or do some quick shopping while you get some delicious soft serve! 😋Note that this place is inside mitsuwa market and then you turn left and walk all the way down until right before the bookstore.

Located inside mitsuwa marketplace, past Hokkaido ramen santouka, is the brightly lit matcha love. While most people come here for the matcha flavor, I come here only for the black sesame. Not a lot of places can get the black sesame right, but matcha love can fall as one of my tops for the black sesame flavor.

Can be a bit busy but generally pretty solid.

I ordered a sesame bubble shake with topioca. Its kind of sweet and runny to my taste.
