Wow - this is place is amazing! Probably one of the better Italian places we have ate at. Albeit a bit hidden off the street and did not have full inventory of what was listed but well worth the visit. Came on a Saturday afternoon for a quick meal and desert. Was not busy at all and staff was readily available to serve. The gnocchi with pesto sauce was absolutely delicious and paired well with the 2015 Monte Antico. Ordered a couple different deserts which were also phenomenal - nutella cheese cake and the sweet but fantastically warm dark chocolate crossiant. Amid Covid, they have the outdoor seating in front of the plaza to sit and relax while eating but we took it to go. Food presentation was great and would definitely go back again.
It was my first time, the attendant was very nice and attentive. I ordered gelato and cookies both were delicious definetly will be back to this faamily owned business and i recomend this palce if you want to try something different Italian taste
Fresh tasting Italian pastries. Very crispy on the outside but the fillings were a hit and miss for my family. Our kids are more accustomed to Asian types of bakery/pastry (strawberry fillings, custard, chocolate, red beans, and taro). Nonetheless, I enjoyed it. Friendly staff and very clean place. Good breakfast place.
This is a great spot for Italian food! My favorite is all of the amazing deserts they offer. Dolce Sicilia is in a wonderful location in downtown Willow Glen. Recommend!
Delicious. I go for the cannoli. I strongly suspect it the most authentic cannoli a person can get in the Bay; Ive been searching. They serve meals. There is gelato, cookies, dried pantry items. Espresso. It is inside a building, so you wont see it from the street
I hate to be the person who writes an average review on this place because it has really great reviews. I dont give bad feedback unless I needed to but when I came here for the first time I have to. I love Italian food with a passion and ravioli is one of my favorites to order. I ordered the meat ravioli with gorgonzola sauce expecting it to be good. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but what ever was in that meat ravioli was not edible for me at all and I had a bad aftertaste after. I never had a ravioli that I didnt enjoy which is sad. I didnt want to go back there and return the food because I dont want to be one of those people. I give the 3 stars because the guy in the front was very kind to me.Response to the owner: Hi, I think you are missing the point of what I reviewed about. I didnt say anything bad about the Gorgonzola sauce because I actually enjoy it. It was the meat that was inside the Ravioli I didnt enjoy. It was just not edible for me and I hope you take this feedback something to look out for next time. Thanks
We stuck to the menu today. A pasta platter with spiral noodles, shrimp, cherry tomatoes and spinach was the first course. Im a pretty good cook and I like trying restaurant dishes and then going home and trying to duplicate them. Im not going to try to do that with this cup, either.
Ordered the Nutella cheesecake and Pistachio Ricotta Cake. The pistachio cake had a wonderful subtle flavor however the ricotta wasnt as soft as I had expected. The cheesecake wasnt the best, but still quite good.
My husband and I were walking around when we come across this place. It took me back to Italy! They have delicious pastries and coffee.I will never try to eat a cannolo anywhere else in the USA. And their price is great!!Im excited to come back and try their pastry filled with pistachio and their Gelato
Great Italian food and ice cream! Very authentic food.
Awful lasagna. It was cold inside and sauce was like ketchup
I had my first ever cannoli here and it was superb! My dad and I both don’t like really sweet desserts so this hit the spot—the cream was so rich and full but not too sugary at all. We got it with pistachios and the chocolate chips inside were the perfect touch. The crunchy shell is bomb too. The employee there was so kind and patient w/ my indecisiveness over buying other items. You can tell he’s very passionate about what they make and giving their customers a lovely, tasty experience. We want to come back again and again! Definitely recommend supporting this sweet shop and their even sweeter staff :)
The owners collections from trips abroad are most likely. And yes, food has been turned into first-rate food! Id love to come again, and once again...
One of my preferred spots to grab some food. awesome location, clean, and awesome service. A must try!
Heavy Italian accent. Doesnt seem faked. I think this place is legit
I love this place. Im from Italy and this is where I go to feel at home. Get some good pastry made by the magic hands of Anna and chat about everything with Domenico while sipping my good espresso or cappuccino. If you want to step it up and a real Italian happy hour, get there on Fridays and enjoy some Sprits with some finger foods made at the moment! you wont regret it. AMAZING!
Stopped in for the cannoli. Best. Ever. The cookies are also delicious! Ordered online for pickup and it was extremely easy and stress-free. The owners are super friendly and its always a pleasure to see them.
We love hanging out. Yesterday we visited this excellent place which we didn’t know before. We passed a beautiful evening there with delicious food and an experienced team and a great chef. We put this place in our list and we will no doubt come back soon. Highly recommended.
Though now not our traditional practice, we shared a lemon sorbet, which became fresh and light.
Incredible home made Italian food. Best Ive ever tried.
This place is a gem! My husband grew up in San Jose, but now we live in Virginia. My husbands extended family still lives in San Jose and we decided to purchase pastries for them for Easter. We placed a delivery order last week for our 90 year old grandmother. Then, last minute, we placed another order for my in-laws. Domenico went above and beyond to help me place two out-of-state orders. It was so easy and as a mother of two young children, I really appreciated his help! Our grandmother was spending her first Easter alone in 90 years bc of the COVID pandemic and said it felt like Easter again when she opened the door to a box of warm Italian pastries! My in-laws were equally as thrilled! They were blown away by the taste and variety of baked goods. Fantastic service, fantastic food, what more can you ask for? Next time we visit San Jose, Im bringing the kiddos in there and getting a box for us! Thank you for everything Dolce Sicilia!
This place is worth a try. They serve big portions for affordable prices. Always neat and with excellent character. I highly recommend this place.
Fantastic cappuccino.
Worst lasagna I ever tried!
This is my first time in San Jose. By chance, I ate at Dolce Sicilia. I have worked at Filomenas inbWashington DC. I have also worked for Dante Vanilli at his restaurant in Detroit. I have also worked as comie forRoberto Donna at Galileo. Your lasagna was excellent. Tomato heaven, the sauce was reduced for hours Im sure. My own sauce takes 5 hours. I can let it go for 7. The lemincello marscapne cake ruined chocolate cake for me. Once my favorite, it is no more. Vanquished by lemony deliciousness. Your pastry cream was light and delicate. Not too much sugar, but the perfect amount of sweetness to allow the lemon to come through naturally. You used fresh squeezed lemons, because lemon concentrate is strong and tart. That would have surely ruined it. The cake was light and fluffy. I am so interested in the flour you used. I am just as interested in the cake pans. Which metal did you use? Definitely not the aluminum. I like stainless steel for cakes and brioche.Bravo! Great job. Its not often I get to choose 5 stars. It feels really good when I do. Eating your cake was a great experience.Reg Brookins
We had an extraordinary at this restaurant. We loved the amazing environment and the food. The waiters were super welcoming. I am content we eventually decided to try this place.
Always friendly service and a prolific selection of delicious Sicilian treats, lovingly made. Family owned and operated. A great little secret place to stop in or take out to impress your friends at a party.
Great Italian food and pastries. Dolce Sicilia is a family run casual bistro located inside the Garden Theatre in Willow Glen. Daily home made cookies, gellato, sandwiches, salads and pasta options. Prices and the quality are great! Eat in or take out.
Italian food at this spot - super tasty. Great place to meet and catch up with friends. I look forward to a return visit. I see why this place has a lot of great reviews.
If you are searching for the authentic italian experience that’s the place for you. Excellent food, ice creams and atmosphere. 1000% recommended!
Ive tried their pastries, cappuccinos, and gelato and they are all delicious! Also love going to the Friday aperitivo hour. This is one of my favorite spots in downtown Willow Glen.
Great Italian pastries, gilato and food. Very nice people.
Delicious. Great place to hang out over great coffee in the afternoon!
Excellent food and pastries. Probably the best pistachio cheese cake of Bay area.
The dessert torte 7 Vela was excellent. The roasted veggie panini could have had more vegetables.
We love cakes here 👍
Wonderful desserts and we tried their soups... very good too 😋
The service is always swift, good ambience, friendly staff. I will eat here again when I am here.
Very friendly service. Ice cream of all kinds is delicious.
Delicious cannoli, and the traditional Sicilian cookies looked wonderful. The owner grew up in Sicily and shares his favorite treats with us here in San Jose. Espresso drinks and gelato too, reasonable prices.
Very nice italian food, the pasta was oily its better if they can reduce the amount of oil.
Authentic Italian cafe and dessert shop. They also serve paninis and hot soups. Friendly staff.
Great spot for delicious italian food. Its so tasty.
Wonderful Italian pastries, coffee and food with a great welcome. A must visit if in Willow Glen area.
It was one so good . the gelato was awesome and they have some of the best croissants in town . you can feel the friendliness once you walking in
Wow i just revisited a walk in Italy. The gracious service and tasty food..oooh Italian being spoken around m3...you must visit. where in the south bay can you get cannoli...well here.
Domenico and family will treat you to the best aperitivo outside of Italy. You have to go!
Great gelato alot of ice cream for price
Lovely little cafe + gelato place thats a great addition to willow glen downtown. Weve tried the gelato as well as a few of the pastry items. I loved everything I tried - the chocolate mousse cake, nutella biscotti, pizza croissant. All had great flavor and texture, and werent super heavy or overpoweringly sweet. Definitely a new favorite.
Cute little coffee place with amazing Italian pastries
Delightful place for hot drinks, pastries and light bites 🇮🇹
Good gelato and coffee. Very clean. friendly and fun staff.
This is an authentic establishment rooted in Sicily! We’re lucky to have this place in San Jose.
Dolce Sicilia is a nice addition to Lincoln Ave inside the Garden Theatre. They serve traditional al dente home made pasta, salads, tiramissou, cakes, cookies, specialty Italian sodas, wine beer and coffee. Owners are very Italian and this is family owned. Great service, quality home made food with quality fresh ingredients. Theres a twist to the typical Happy Hour called Appertivo. Order any alcohol drink and theres a nice complimentary home made appetizers. I suggest the tasty Cannolis, an espresso and some cookies to enjoy there or bring to a party.
Authentic Italian Pastries and delicious hot chocolate.
It was my first time eating gelato. It was delicious!😀
Love the gelato and the cannoli cookies etc. So authentic and fresh I wish I was closer to have a croissant and cappuccino every morningFamily operated and very nice people
Homemade gelato and cookies, homemade pasta coming September 2019.
Friendly staff. Delicious Sicilian delicacies to boot, get it?
The croissants and coffee are great besides the wonderful hospitality of the owners
Nice Italian place with great gelato and espresso.
Delicious gelati flavors and very friendly proprietors .
Best coffee and baked goods
Delicuous pastries. I wish I have tried all of them
Love! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love this place!!
Taste of Italy
Great experience
Good
Finding a corner of Sicily in California is like finding a needle in a haystack, luckily I found this famous needle at 1165 Lincoln Avenue in San Jose. Managed by highly qualified people in the production of typical Sicilian products. The final product served is made with Italian food, all STRICTLY fresh from the day. What to say, the Messina granita is truly spectacular, the ice creams are delicious and Friday is the aperitif day. A hymn to joy for the palate. Congratulations!!!
It was awesome. Italians know how to make good ice cream!
Very disappointing assortment, I expected more.
Sfogliatella riccia very good!
Very good!!
