Great Covid protocols and even better, my childs vision was assessed in a kid-friendly, calm, and thorough manner. I so appreciated the doctors willingness to conduct her exam geared for a 5 year old. If he missed a letter, she investigated if he even knew that letter. Im confident his vision was accurately assessed, and he enjoyed the entire experience.

This was the first time getting an eye exam in the US and Im happy that I chose to go to River Oaks Family Optometry. They were very clear on what they were doing and carefully explained the results of the test. The lens were a little expensive but I guess thats what you expect if you want the best of qualities. Overall, I would recommend people to visit this place.

We went here for the first time about 9 years ago when it had recently opened. I remember loving it then. Such a detailed, comprehensive exam and the doctor is the most patient, calm and kind person I know. Having recently moved back to the area, we went for an eye exam here today. Even though they are incredibly busy now and appointments are hard to get, the doctor and the exam was just as detailed as 9 years ago. I experienced the same level of care and patience. The doctor listened to me carefully and attended to all my concerns. The rest of the staff is just as amazing - courteous and friendly. Absolutely loved our experience here. I would give it a 100 stars if I could!

I had a little emergency with some new Ray Bans I recently bought, one of the little screws fell and one of my lenses was falling. I was going to take them to the optometrist that sold them to me but out of curiosity I stopped by here in case they could help me. They actually helped me! They were really nice about it and didnt charge me at all! Ill probably come here next time I need an optometrist

Very accommodating to get an appointment. Doctor and tech were both thorough in explanations and in general really kind/nice. I didn’t feel rushed or pushed and overall it was a good experience. It felt a tad pricey, but the level of service and promptness justified the cost for me.

Dr Chung is the best optometrist I have ever seen. She is very professional and patient. She has done very detail and thorough exam in every check up visit and answered all my questions. The staffs are friendly too. Highly recommend if you are looking for the best optometrist in Bay Area.

The staff was great. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The doctor thoroughly explained my exam and the results, and the office staff explained my insurance coverage and my portion of the costs. The office and exam rooms were clean and safe.

Dr. Chung is the best optometrist that I’ve ever seen. I was finally able to get a new GP contact lenses that my previous optometrist couldn’t provide. Little far away from my home, but it’s well worth it. Highly recommend.

I would give five more stars to this wonderful optometry if I can. I am not exaggerating at all, if you havent been to this place, you cant imagine how great it is. Dr. Elaine is so professional, caring and patient. My eyes condition is really complicated, to help me get the best vision, she tuned the parameters back and forth so many times. I even felt really guilty for troubling her so much, but throughout the course, she did not show a single sign of impatience. Elaine is undoubtedly the best of the best. Besides, the staff there are all so friendly, they are always obliging to help whenever it is needed. I feel really lucky to have Dr. Elaine as my optometrist, it is like a blessing gift of the year from God.

I have extremely dry eye symptom, which affects my daily life and work. Dr. Chung is extremely kind and helpful. During my visit to the clinic, she has carefully examined my eyes, and have taken her time to go through each options with me in details. She also answered my millions questions and concerns. She has prescribed me 2 types of eye drops, and I start to feel better with my dry eye now.

Making a reservation, filling forms, etc. was all done online. I gave them my frames to replaces the glasses and the lab broke the frames. I wonder how accurate their lab workers are with glasses if they are not even careful with plastic frames.They send out a message with a request for a review before they completed the order, so I would not trust the many reviews.They do not take any responsibility for broken frames. After they broke the frames, they simply said do you want to buy new ones?.It might be that they broke them on purpose to force me to buy new frames.I also did a visit before ordering the glasses and the doctor did a retinal screening (which usually requires a copay) without asking if I wanted it.

Dr. Chung is one of my best doctor that I come in for check up, every year.I have been visiting the current office since just opening.

Ive been suffering from dry eyes due to clogged oil glands for the past 4 months and have tried many treatments. I came to River Oaks Family Optometry twice and each time their COVID safety protocols are top notch. Dr. Elaine Chung helps explain everything in a caring, calm and compassionate manner and her staff is very well trained. I would highly recommend her practice for Lipiflow, which is a treatment that helps unclog your oil glands. There was soothing music during the treatment and every little detail was taken care of. I already feel relief from my dry eyes!!

Had not have done an Eye Exam in a long time and had it done here This is during covid and an appointment was arranged.Everything done here was a great experience. I was greeted at the door, appointment was checked, I was seated in an exam room in a few minutes, and an optometrist proceeded the eye exam shortly after. After the exam was finished we proceeded to choosing a frame. I said what I was looking for in a new frame and she, I forgot her name, picked a few frames and I found the winner there. She took me to a seating area to than go over the details of the lens and cost.Everyone there was great, loved them all. Highly recommended.

We brought my little one here to see Dr. Chung for a second opinion and she was extremely calm and patient. The previous Optometrist we went to rushed my little one and then became short tempered. In comparison Dr. Chung was a breath of fresh air and warm. Her demeanor is very calming which soothed my little one. He happily came and said this doctor is nice and she has these toys on her fingers during the exam and she wasn’t being mean. They also do a retina scan here so that helps.The office is very spacious and her front staff is very sweet even during this Covid-mask time. Everyone was kind and accommodating considering little ones can hardly keep their hands to themselves with all the mirrors and stuff to try on. The lady who was helping us calmly would say just put the frames you touch/try on in the dish so we can sanitize rather than flipping out. I definitely would recommend Dr. Chung hands down and now I’m going to sign myself up with her for my next eye exam! 😃.

I wish all my doctors are as good as her. there are also other Dr there incase she is fully book. their staffs are always helpful and friendly. they are happy to show me if there are other colour of the frame that I might like on computer if they dont have all the colour on the shelf.#2 best place for safetythey ask everyone to called when they arrive and before enter and do check temperature, ask u question and sanitize your hands at the door. all staffs wear masks and face shield. they wiped down all the equipments before and after use. all the glasses flame u tried on asked to put in a tray, so they can sanitize it before putting it back on shelf. they only allow like 1- 2 customers at a time for appointment. I feel most comfortable at this office than any Stanford clinic or hospital.

I was here for the vision exam. The hand sanitizing was needed at the entrance, the instrument was clean before each customer. It makes customers feel safe during this strong flu season. The staff was very kind and efficient. Dr. Yang helped me on the exam. She explained the considerations and options very well. She is very nice and professional, keep explaining and reminding. Apparently they were all quite busy, I am impressed by their patience and coordinating the time slot to minimize the waiting time. Highly recommend.

Im not sure where to begin to express my utmost gratitude to Dr. Chung and her staff for a friendly, helpful, and understanding experience. They treated us like family. I took my son in for his first contact exam, he was struggling to learn the process of inserting and removing contacts which took hours and even weeks. Since the first day, Dr. Chung and her staff were VERY patient and kind. I had to return to work, and since he was a teenager and we live close by, I asked the staff if he could stay there till he got the contacts right. He stayed there for hours, learning to adjust to the new experience. At some point he was hungry and Dr. Chung told him to take a break and gave him money to get some food. Ive never been to any clinics where the doctors and staff treated us with such a friendly and kind manner. These aspects aside, Dr. Chung was very competent with her job. The office was clean and comfortable. I cant recommend them enough! We are going to be customers for life. No, not customers. Friends. Family. Thank you Dr. Chung and staff!!!

I have very poor eyesight and have been seeing Dr. Chung for 6 years now. She does a thorough examination. I will continue to go to this clinic as long as I live close to South Bay.Now, moving on to the spectacles - the lenses they make for you are the top of the class but selection of frames isnt very good. I buy my frames elsewhere and just go to them for the lenses.

I think the nicest receptionist and doctor I have met. Everybody in the office were extremely sweet and accommodating. Dr. Wang had excellent bedside manner and took her time to examine my eyes. The only thing I will critique is limited selection of sunglasses and spectacles.

They were fast and efficient which Ive never said about an eye doctors office before, or any doctors office for that matter. I arrived 10 minutes early for my 9:30 appointment to fill out some paperwork and I was seen by the doctor quickly and had my order completed and was out the door by 10. The eye doctor listened to everything I said and she was very nice. I would definitely recommend this place if youre looking for a new eye doctor.

Dr. Chung is an amazing doctor and has been a great guide in helping me get used to my Ortho K treatment. The two year program just finished and I just renewed it to continue using Ortho K for the next year.

Today I visited River Oaks Family Optometry. I had an appointment with Dr. Chung.Before my visit, I received an email, text, and phone call reminders about my appointment and their new protocol due to COVID-19, which made me feel secure in making an appointment in the first place. When arriving to my appointment, they asked for me to call or text so they can ask some questions and let me know when its safe to approach the door, since they dont want their patients crossing paths. One of their staff meets you at the door to take your tempature with a non-contact thermometer, then they have you sanitize your hands before entering. They require you to wear a mask throughout your whole visit. All the staff wear shields, mask, and gloves. The front desk has plexiglass so you and their staff are safe. They allow you to try on glasses and have you set aside anything you touch so they can thoroughly sanitize.Dr. Chung was very thorough with my whole exam and very patient in explaining her procedures. She took pictures of the inside of my eye to make sure their was no internal bleeding or anything abnormal that is not visible to the naked eye. The technology at this office is superb! The front desk staff Amanda and Jazzy were so kind and helpful they explained my insurance in such depth, helped me select some glasses and made the process so easy.Overall, if youre looking for a very clean, safe, high tech, hospitable office, you will not regret coming here. If I could give this office 100 stars, I would!

Drove 20 min to this place only because of their review, but they didnt let us in because we are about 15 min late. I had a very bad experience with them. Had prescription from another place and only wanted to take a look at their glasses. Had to answer a lot of questions to schedule an appointment and filling out a long questionnaire form before checking in, only to take a look a at the eyeglasses, and finally they did not let us in. Never will be back to this place!

Nice and patient doctor. She gives us opinions on all treatment options. My child doesnt receive well with ortho k lens on his first try. Yet upon request she let my child to try them on again at another appointment before we decide which options to go for and make commitment. Fair and honest.

Extremely dissatisfied with this optometry. Dont go after those so called reveview because 90% of those reviews have given only one reviews. Which mean most of those accounts has been created by the clinic.That is the reason they have over 300 reviews. Just be careful dont get fool by those unreal reviews. Always check the profile of the people who has given reviews. That will help you to not get the victim. I hope my suggestions will help.

Ive been to this Optometry for a few years with annual eye exam. They have latest equipment and the doctor is super patient in explaining everything thats going on in your eyes to you. Its super friendly place and the staff there are all super nice. No pressure on purchasing eye wear from them. I would recommend this place for your eye needs.

New to California so my first visit in the state. Loved Dr. Hassans attention to everything I communicated to her. She listened, checked, and informed me in great detail my results. She even helped look up the best contact lens deal based on my insurance and available rebates. Offered to have my previous examination results pulled from my ex-provider in a different state. She has an infectious smile, and a beautiful personality to go with it. Love the place to pieces. Highly recommended.

Really thorough exam with detailed explanations from the doctor about what each test was for. they had some fun things for kids in the waiting area too.. gave me enough samples for a week ( contact lenses) to try out for comfort before the doc writes an actual prescription which is pretty unusual (and good) from my past experiences
