Ive written about Branham Family Eye Care in the past as Ive always been very well cared for by the doctors and the eye glass/contact staff.Today I want to say special thanks to Evie. A few weeks ago I brought in a pair of my glasses and talked to Evie. I told her that I had them stored in the console of my truck and after spending some days in the hot 100+ temp I put them on and everything was foggy. Once they cooled off they were almost back to normal but I could see a halo effect if I looked a a light in an otherwise dark room. She confirmed that I had another pair or would be fine with her sending them back in which I did. She was able to warranty the lenses and I got them back in just under three weeks.What really impressed me though was when she called and told me I could come pick them up. With COVID, they have to take special precautions and normally when you pick up lenses they request you make and appointment if you want to try them on or want to work with them. I figured I didnt need that since these were just replacement lenses but when I got there Evie said you have prisms in these so I just want to make sure that they are right for you. She came outside and asked me to try them on, she checked them out and made sure the transitions worked and that my vision was as expected.This is the type of service one dreams of getting. Honestly, when I heard that Tina was leaving I was worried that getting good support for glasses and sunglasses would go downhill. Thankfully Dr. Chow found Evie and she is wonderful. I todays ultra fast paced society with the added stress of the COVID restrictions its amazing to find someone who really cares about their customers and treats them this well.Thanks Evie, I really appreciate you going the extra mile and taking care of me. It was certainly unexpected but it made my day.Dr. Chow, please make sure you figure out how to keep her there long term. Shes the type of person you want working with your customers.

All the staff was friendly and helpful and Dr. Phoebe Tai was caring and personable.

Friendly environment, friendly staff, knowledgeable optometrist and fair pricing. Takes the stress out of any vision problems I was having.

Great procedures for keeping people safe. It was nice seeing them sanitize everything we used beforehand. My only criticism is that certain parts of the eye exam may have been skewed since my breath from my mask was fogging up the equipment causing half the screen for the peripheral vision test to be blurry and for the prescription test (better with 1 or 3) having certain lenses blurry so maybe I wasn’t choosing the one that was actually clearest but the one less foggy. I totally understand face masks/shields are absolutely necessary during these times, I just think we need to come up with some creative alternatives/ solutions for situations such as these so that we can feel confident that our results are accurate. Other than that the staff was great and service excellent as always!

I just moved from Aptos to San Jose and needed a new eye doctor. Branham was close so I made an appointment and was pleasant surprised by the whole experience. Friendly and attention to detail...answered all my questions

Dr. Chow gave me my 1st pair of glasses 29 years ago and continues to ensure my visual health.

The office staff was very friendly and helpful, never pressured me to buy anything, and made me feel very comfortable. Doctor Jessica Clark was amazing. She explained everything she was doing, as well as what she was seeing. Ive been to multiple eye doctors over the past 20 years trying to find someone I felt was knowledgeable and trustworthy, but have had no luck until now. Dr. Clark was the first doctor who could explain my symptoms and provide any helpful suggestions. I would highly recommend Branham Family Eye Care to anyone looking for a friendly, professional, and informed eye care team.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Not too fond of the new doctor to the team. While examining my eyes, she had her fingers pretty close to the eyeball without gloves. She also put some painful drops in my eyes without explaining what she was doing or giving me a heads up. When doctors dont explain to patients the reason behind what they are doing, it can feel like they are just poking and prodding at us.

Always a friendly and helpful staff! Dr. Chow is the best. He spends time with you and he makes sure that all of your questions and concerns are addressed!

Their people are all very friendly and helpful, and the eye exam was very thorough. After I selected and ordered the glasses. Unfortunately, that is when the trouble began. I went at the beginning of the summer and it is September and I still dont have glasses. They are transitional trifocals that came back with the wrong ratios of each range the first time (my old glasses were perfect, so they should have just copied the ratios), we did a redo, and this time the lab did not do what we ordered, so I asked since it was the second redo, that they put a rush on it, and I am still waiting and it has been weeks!! I should have had glasses over 2 months ago - fortunately I still have my old pair that are OK for the most part.Follow-up: When the manager found out about the the 2 redos, she called and apologized and asked if I would come back to double check to make sure everything was right, and when I got there, they took me right in and 30 minutes later, we confirmed everything correct and sent in the reorder. The lab finally came back with the glasses 2-3 weeks later, and I am very happy with my glasses! Great place, again super helpful and friendly, but the lab they use does take a lot of time (even when they mess up). Time to start looking for a new lab that understands customer service.

Very friendly, competent. Dr. Clark always study my history files before, explains very well the results. Takes the time necessary to answer questions. I am a customer for the last 15 years. Also I am at the 3rd doctor, all have been excellent.

We have been using Branham family eye care for two years now. Been very happy with the quality of service. The doctors are great as are the front office people who help pick out glasses and frames. I go in frequently for tweaking and tightening my frames and they are always prompt and super helpful. Highly recommended.

The Front Office Staff & Dr. Wong couldn’t be nicer or more professional as I was a walk-in from out of town. I was in the area & decided to donate @ a local blood drive, however due to a swollen eye was told I couldn’t give. I had this condition a few weeks ago in the same eye & it cleared up or so I thought. I Googled “Eye care Professionals near me“ & Branham Family Eye Care came up. They had very good reviews & was open so I drove right over. After the Front Office heard my story & having no appointment, they said Dr. Wong could see me. I only waited 15 minutes before she took me to an Exam Room, asked questions & dilated my eyes. She diagnosed I had 2 styes in my eye & prescribed a treatment. She answered my questions & was very engaging. I highly recommend them & if I didn’t live far away away would be a patient.

Me & my wife have been using Branham Family Eye Care for a couple of years. I bought a pair of Revolution eyeglasses with a magnetic clip on sunglasses. Loved them until I lost the clip on sunglasses. You cannot by them directly from Revolution, only through your optometrist. Branham Family Eye Care wanted to charge me $80.00 to replace them! MAJOR RIPOFF! I complained about it & they said sorry! I even offered to meet them half way @ $40.00, they still said sorry! So I asked them for my prescription & told them Im taking my business elsewhere. Called Visions Innovations Optometry in San Jose & ordered them for $40.00. Im sure they still made money also.Bottom line is dont get ripped off @ Branham Family Eye Care !

Yet again, there was another new doctor. More so, it took us over an hour to get in and out. Since the appointment was for fifteen minutes after the office opened, we thought we would be the first appointment or at least in and out fairly quickly. Even after they were behind, the doctor was taking her time with a salesperson. Make him schedule an appointment so that it doesn’t it inconvenience others.

Disappointing to see what has happened to Branham Eye Care. There have been many changes in doctors and staff over the past 10 years of my going there and Im done. Service has declined and costs are now higher than several other Optometrists in the area. Doctors soft sell testing not required and in many cases not covered by insurance. Recently, their staff gave me the round around and were unable to provide me with clear explanation of why we needed a service in order to get copy of our prescription released. I had to call my insurance company to verify what I was being told was true or not. Not - - Ive since changed to wonderful high caliber Optometrist downtown Willow Glen more reasonably priced with excellent certified doctors.

I had a high blood pressure emergency that was effecting my vision, Dr. Chow spotted right away and recommended that I go to urgent care. He also gave me a follow-up eye exam to check if my vision was returning to normal, free of charge. Dr. Chow is great!

Loved it, and Love them...amazing customer service.. Dr. Jonasson and Yolanda rock!. we laugh, we giggle, and we handle the process of exams, picking and choosing glasses, and then they go above and beyond to be sure we are satisfied.. thank you gals!. Mr. Chris & my silly wife

Ive been going to Branham Family Eye Care for several years now, along with my husband and sister. I appreciate their convenient location - right next to Safeway, and the fact that they offer some late and weekend appointments. I work M-F in Palo Alto, so it is hard to make it to appointments during normal business hours, so the late and weekend appointments are very beneficial. Their frames are a bit more expensive than other places, but they are a good quality and decent selection. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I usually see Dr. Jonasson and I really like her a lot. She is very friendly and very thorough. She asks a lot of questions, and allows me to ask all the questions I need to, and explains things so that I understand them. I just had my eye exam last weekend, and ordered my new glasses. I cannot wait for them to arrive. The customer service at Branham is very good. Im sure that they will do everything to make sure that my new glasses fit correctly and comfortably and to make sure that Im satisfied.

Keith is a great doctor. He had pink eye before, and He gave me eye drops to fix the problem. I also had dry eyes, He knows which prescription is best for me. I recommend it for anyone. :)

Great service, always have met their appointments. Latest equipment, and often adding new instruments. Dr. Johannsen has been our optometrist for several years, keeps us both in good health. But note they are not opthalmologists, although they inspect your retina, etc. for issues. They will warn you of possible problems, but you need to see an opthalmologist if something is wrong.

I really didnt know where to start so i went back and looked up every date and time and organized everything in chronological order. we chose this place because of our insurance. 1st of all the staff are all very snooty. I am surprised from all the great reviews. we have been here as i am writing this review the staff has put me on hold for over 5 minutes. we came in and had an initial exam to replace contact lenses, we where hustled into buying $300 eye glasses, my wife received contact lenses that where the wrong prescription and it took them 1 month to get them, then they called and said they had the correct lenses (freshlook colored lenses like what we currently have) we came in and they said a doctor would again need to see us and that we couldnt get the prescription or the lenses, this was at 530 yesterday so they booked an appointment for today, then called us at 605pm yesterday and said they needed to reschedule for thursday! when i called them back they were on auto voicemail that said they were closed at 6pm.. i called them now and when i said that i cant make it thursday they refused to honor the appointment today. it has almost been two months going back and forth and they are being extremely unreasonable! they are hoarding the prescription and bullying us around.

Good experience overall but took almost two hours which I felt was too long for an eye exam appointment.
