Variety of Taiwanese desserts, buns and breads served in a modern setting. The mango cake and milk bread were lovely. We felt the flaky biscuits near the counter were very dry. Curry pan, cheese bread and other buns were alright - can be better though. Note that many of the items are out of stock by 5pm.
Thought i reviewed this place back in may. the best bakery i have gone to. there are probably better ones, but i give this a good one. none of the breads got me bad. the best and i guess personally like is the mango custard roll. i have a sweet tooth so this place got a good chocolate square cake too.
Love this place. A nice variety of fresh buns--taro, milk butter, plain, coffee, chocolate--all sorts of flavors and textures. Also has a nice variety of iced and hot beverages and cakes. Were regulars here and havent had bad service even when the line is long.
I ordered a birthday cake online in advance and when I went to pick it up, no reference was made on the cake of the birthday kid even though the order asked for the name. The most disappointing moment was when the cake was cut and served - it was apparent to everyone sharing a piece that the 8 inch chiffon cake was frozen inside. I didn’t know to expect a pre-made frozen cake ordering it from a supposedly decent bakery. It was so embarrassing!
Offer good variety of bakery. Also boba tea is available. You can sit to enough the food which is great
85 is one of those places I cant get enough of. I always say its like the Asian version of Portos (although nothing could qui5e compare to Portos). People will tell me that 85 is overrated and overhyped but I dont care, its so good!! Ive always been a huge fan of Korean bakeries, and even though 85 is not that, you really cant beat the prices for the quality of bread here.My favorites are the egg and cheese tarts, the brioche, and the almond apple danish. I seriously have dreams about the tarts, and Ive gone multiple times during lockdown just to pick them up because Im craving them so bad. They also used to have this maple toast that I would get all the time, although I havent seen it in a hot minute. The sea salt coffee is also one of the staples here, and even if I dont drink coffee, I always take a sip of my sisters or my friends haha. Ill honestly probably stop by here again tomorrow since its like walking distance from my house LOL...oops..
This review is based solely on the bakerys pastries and treats! Sadly I have yet to try their drinks Ive been hearing about.85 can be one of those Hey lets grab a quick bite to eat! and Dessert tonight? type of place. Interior decor is stunning, a minimalistic white, modern and sleek look from its floors to its service desk. Always super clean when Ive visited which is awesome!I dont get a chance to casually visit 85 as Id like to, but always when visiting 85 I purchase in such big bulks ($75-150). The pastries Ive gotten have always had the right amount of sweet and savory. I havent tried much of the meat mix pastry items like the bacon/cheese or the ham/cheese/tuna, but hearing from friends its mouth-watering! Pastries are always lined up and filled, if not, you can kindly ask one of the bakers to refill and they do it almost immediately.Parking is definitely a hassle in this area since it is located around a few large shopping and grocery centers. So I beg you not to come during peak hours or youll find yourself parking near the Goodwill four buildings down!Overall, such a delectable place for your everyday fix. Would love to visit more often if I could; Ive been meaning to try that Rose Milk Tea!
THE place for great bread. Lots of choices. Sweet and savory. Reasonable prices. Kids love the Dino egg, (chocolate bread with chocolate mousse in the center). Not overly sweet. You can let your kids share one and they wont be bouncing off the walls from too much sugar. 🤣
The popular 85C, great for quick coffee and snacks, great varieties of European style cakes.Large parking, same spot with H&M Korean market and others.Located on De Anza Blvd near Freeway 85. ... Cupertino, CA.
They have a good variety of food and the wait time for their amazing drinks isnt too long.
Nothing for vegan except they can make latte with oat milk. Though last time I was there, they ran out of it.
Easy parking, very quick on ordering especially using the kiosk on milk teas and other drinks.
Like their breads and cocoa roll. The mango creme brulee cake is one of my favorites.
Couldnt convince the wife to even try milk tea til we went here and now shes addicted. Place is always clean. Service not so fast but not too long either
Good selections to choose from compared to their other locations and the cookies are not burnt
Amazing bakery. Have tried many things and yet to dislike anything. Berry tart, coconut strudel are the best
Well stocked, great variety, friendly service, clean and bright. One of, if not, the best franchise in the bay area. Love to hear, Fresh bread, as they bring out the delicious baked goods.
It wasn’t anywhere near that hot in this place. Quite cool actually.
They have been out of the bun with pork floss (rousong) topping. Coffee is good
The labels are a little unclear since they are above the item as opposed to other places often have it under the item. Taro bread was a little flavorless but the strawberry half moon was delish. 👪
Pretty good bakery. Choice of bread is rather limited, but cakes are amazing. This place is much less crowded than Cupertino one.
I want to give this place a better rating because the product and service are pretty good, but its just so dirty whenever I go. I always have to sit at a table with spilled tea and bread everywhere. I came here with my friends and was a little embarrassed. However, I was happy to find that they do have gluten free and soy free options. The macarons and Rose tea are delicious !
They have the best baked goods and coffee. Highly recommend this place to anyone. You won’t be disappointed. Everything is good.
This bakery store of the 85°C chain is the largestest in the South Bay area and is open later than the one nearby which is located on Stevens Creek Blvd, Cupertino. Try to get there earlier because most of the popular pasteries are out of stock 2~3 hours before the store closes. Covid-19 safety and occupancy rules are enforced.
This new 85 degree bakery just opened. It had a really long that wrapped all the way into the bakery section. They had 1 to 2 people working the cash registers. There were often times when there was no one manning the registers at all. They did have a sign for hiring. The cake glass was empty too. They were clearly behind. I saw them taking out cakes out of packaged boxes from the fridge. It was kind of suspicious to me. I thought their cakes was supposed to be freshly made. Drinks and bread was on par with other 85 degrees Ive been to.
First time there didnt know what i was getting myself into until i read the signs and seen the delicious items, i tired 3 items and was instantly hooked, definitely going back
Selection of pastries and desserts is good. Oolong oolong tea was good.. Mango cream bun is a must try..
Everything at this bakery is amazing. They have so many options so you will always find something you like. Prices are also really affordable for the serving size of the pastries/bread.
Social distancing not followed very strictly. Not by the business but the customers. Business should have actively monitored
Good baked bread items and not so great cake items. Love their taro, red bean, and almond bread options. Definitely my go to picks. Their lattes are pretty good too (not too bitter or too light in flavor). Service has always been quick and efficient which is a definite plus! Ive had a few of the cake slices and kind of gave up. They just didnt seem yum enough to justify the calories to finish them 😅 maybe Ill find one I like someday, but I think Ive been burned too many times to try again.
Handling covid well. 6ft markers all over to let you know where to stand. All pastries come pre wrapped. And everything still delicious
All I have to say is this, the pastries are really good here, so good, I broke my diet because they were so good. I didnt really care for the cakes but the pastries are lite.
The service is beyond lame. They dont make drinks in the order that came. Everybody after me have received their drink and I had to ask them if they skipped my order and they cant even apologize for that.
The food is so good, the staff are incredibly polite, and the place is kept immaculate.
I love the taro bun
Nice location, friendly staff and pretty clean but the restroom could be a bit cleaner. I like that it was conveniently located right off CA-85. I just realized the 85C Bakery is right off the 85 Freeway; how cool is that! Well it was conveniently located near home when I still lived here, so it was nice that I didnt have to drive too far. Parking here sucks on the weekend, if you arent too lazy to walk; there usually are a few spots available behind H Mart.
Delightful pastry, beautiful cakes, and the best caffeinated and non-caffeinated beverages.
Quality was way better in the past but now they are just milking from their past laurels
Good place for eateries
Some tasty pastries. And I really appreciate that they post calorie information!Decor/lighting is a bit too bright for me to find it welcoming and comfortable.Speed of service seems somewhat variable, perhaps.
They make the doordash drivers wait in a huge line outside, also I don’t know why the store has a phone number if they never answer.
85C is a bakery modeled after bakeries Ive been to in Taiwan from what I can tell. The band gives look good although I havent tested those yet. The coffee was weaker than I prefer (I actually do like Starbucks). The layout is reasonably open in the setting area but theropes used to control limes for service are badly placed and restrict movement from the baked goods area to the coffee area. I presume this means it gets very busy, but it wasnt around lunch time when I was there. This should be improved.
Bad experience. I ordered two slices of cakes and two drinks from doordash. When dasher arrived, I was handed over a box of cake and a tray of drinks. The worst part is that the tray has no handle at all and I had to keep my arm straight otherwise my drink will spit out. Unfortunately, my food fell to the ground When I am closing my door. Do they expect their customers to be octopus? Why not provide even paper bags with handles? (and I just found that they didnt provide me the spoon?!)
Cake was too high in sugar, they dont have anyone who can write the name ona birthday cake.
Mango brulee cake is good
We love this place! I have been here numerous times. Anytime someone visits me from out of state we take them here. My parents made us take them here twice during the same weekend!Dont be afraid to go overboard when picking out your bread; Ive eaten pastries from here three days after buying them and they are still fluffy and soft! The blueberry filled bread is one of my favorites and the classic brioche is delicious. Dont worry if they dont have your favorite bread the day you visit because all the others will be fantastic as well! There are sweet and savory options. They also have beautiful and delicious cake slices for sale. I am a big fan of the strawberry cake. They also make milk tea and coffee here. Im not a fan of that stuff so Ive never tried it. My husband has and says it is good.I feel the prices are very reasonable! I was actually surprised at how affordable it was the first time I came here.
Awesome pastries and friendly service
First off kudos to the guy who made my TARO latte, yum!! I wish I could give him 5 star but in general I cant quite give the store 5 star yet. Not yet.. Secondly, too bad most of the staff are looking unhappy and no smiles whatsoever. Thirdly, the way they place the ropes to control lines to cashier is so badly set up. Lastly most of the bread and pastries I got though are pretty good. I will still visit 85 • bakery but maybe different locations next time. 👍
Love the pastry
I love the breads there. Especially the potato and cheese bun where they have a buttery bread with mashed potatoes and cheese sprinkled on top! I love this place! The drinks are also great and dont get me started on the customer service and the decor! It is just a great place to eat and stay to get work done. if only there was less people :(
Good bread had kale and feta croissant it was really good. Coffee was bitter both me and my husband asked for hot coffee and received iced coffee would have changed it but we were on a time restraint. I suspect this was a fluke with the coffee so I will try again. There was an older man putting out the bread he was very nice and pleasant.
The baked goods here are always amazing. I keep missing the jalapeno cheese bread, because that stuff is so glorious. The sweet ones are really tasty as well. I like the coconut and milk bread ones. The have cakes as well The sea salt coffee is really good, and these guys do it better than most. I like their matcha latte with soy milk also. I definitely recommend coming here for a snack or dessert.
Fresh bread. Nice service. Four star because they dont have consistent flavor for the same type of bread. Dont be fooled by the name of the bread. I bought 3 mango filled bread, but two of the fillings are coffee flavored.
Lots of bakery food and to top it off boba juice is amazing. We love the cakes and garlic bread over here
Cute little Asian Bakery. I really like their chocolate croissants and brioche bread. Also recommend their sea salt iced coffee. During peak times the lines can get pretty long but the employees always do their best to be fast and restart quickly. Warning: parking is awful on good days so come early or park elsewhere and walk!
If you like French pastries with a Asian twist then 85 is your place for yummy delicious pastries !
I don’t think they have professional service for birthday cake orders and delivery.
The store is clean and staffs are very nice.
Im obsessed with 85 degrees-Their brioche bread is amazing! All of their other pastries are just as good and only cost a few dollars. The fancier cakes are also delicious and look so beautiful! The smoothies are huge... And the coffee (especially the sea salt one) is very refreshing.
Nice selection of pastries, tasty coffee. The AC is set just right inside, and the music is varied, upbeat, and refreshing.Expect a few minutes wait in a line before you can see a cashier. I saw a cashier individually package around ten pastries picked out by a customer and brought to him for purchase, then place the pastries together in a larger bag, only for the people buying them to walk a few feet to a table and take the pastries out and then discard the packaging. It takes a while given that hes gingerly picking everything up with tongs and packing them in awkward polypropylene bags. Id personally much rather just pack them myself if I needed, given the long line.
I’m not from the area, I was recommended to go to this place by my mom and my friend who is from the Bay Area. The pastries were AMAZING!!! The choco cookie bread was my favorite, I finished it within 2 minutes of paying. If you are a coffee lover, the sea salt caramel coffee iced is so good. I will for sure be coming back whenever I go to this area!!
Ah! Nothing is better than taro bread and mocha bread. Cakes are very souffle on average. No WiFi.
This bakery has some unique pastries that you wont find elsewhere. The descriptions are kind of vague, so most of the time you have to gamble/take a wild guess as to what youre getting. They will wrap all your pastries in individual bags and put them in a nice box (free of cost). The restrooms were really clean too.
The same quality you expect from 85C. But the dough was incredibly buttery, to the point that my mouth felt like I had eaten greasy movie theater popcorn. Prices are average, $2-2.50.
Im sorry to have to post like this but I have a few very strict rules. The place was busy which is good for them the food is about the same as is it any other 85 C but the bathroom is dirty and they were completely out of toilet paper for the mens room I have end up using paper towels to take care of business the bathrooms are not regularly checked and the adage of a place is only as clean as the bathroom where the employees wash their hands I think is really true. I told an employee about it and he just looked confused like he didnt understand the language at all I am not confident that this place meets actual cleanliness standards of any sort.
Delicious everything... a bit pricey but definitely worth... beard cakes and drinks are delicious!
Great tasting pastries.. Top quality cakes - not too sweet, just right. On the pricey side but worth every penny.
Great place for coffee. Very friendly stuff. Ive been here once but the latte and croissants was perfect
The employees are so great here and the breakfast so delicious that I was shocked when I saw the going rates for positions advertised at a hiring table. Each position deserves a raise and paying bakers the same as customer service employees is ridiculous and would never fly outside of the bay area (coming from a customer service employee). The pricing is so affordable I would gladly pay .50 to 1.00 more a pastry if I knew it was going to the employees for their labor.
Kinda pricey... but good! Although something you go there around 9am and most of the bread is not ready yet...
Not good coffee
The bread selection is spotty depending on when you come, and let me tell you that Sunday afternoons are definitely not a great option. Im not sure why this place is as popular as it is; the taste, price, and selection are about the same as an average Chinese bakery. Definitely not worth any sort of long wait or passive aggressive fighting for taro buns with other Asian moms. Cakes are pretty though a bit expensive, and are generally a dependable option for parties.
My friends love this place. Prices are very reasonable. Friendly stuff and good selections of menu choices.
The early crowds when 85C first launched in the Bay Area have died down, so browsing here is a much less hectic experience than before. Some items are okay - in particular cakes and sponge-cake type breads. The reason for the -2 stars is their boba is way too sweet and one-dimensional and I find a lot of their pastries super doughy and starchy, with a weird, unpleasant mouthfeel that is way more dry and slightly bitter than anything resembling pleasant.
The cakes / bakery items here are good, but the line up to purchase are outrageous. Would recommend hopping over to any other bakery (ex: Paris Baguette...) for a very similar taste / pricing and with much much much less hassle!
Authentic chinese bakery. Team loved the pineapplecakes and farewell cake
Limited selection, didn’t have what I wanted.
They always do a great job. They usually have egg tarts more often than other locations. What other reason is there to go to 85 Degrees? Their egg tarts are super great!
I visited the original first 85C bakery in Irvine, and its second branch in San Diego many times, so I think I know what is the original. This branch is the most similar to the original among 85C bakeries in bay area in terms of freshness. Still, its quality is not comparable to the original 85C bakery in Irvine in terms of freshness and crispy texture, but its close enough.
