The coffee shop has EXCELLENT food and service. Great menu, lots of choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Need to get Wi-Fi for guest. You are way behind 😁 Other than that, nice visit 👍🤷
Good old fashion fun. Clean and well maintained. Good fries too. If you hate the noise and dark bowling alleys of today, with music killing your ears, go to 4th street bowl youll be happy you did.
Dope bowling alley with a great unassuming bar.
Really good food ngl western burger is very very good I recommend it. It does have bacon and bbq sauce but its good
I love this place to bowl. Awesome venue
Love this spotGood barOk food
My daughter, my husband, and I arrived here about 8:30am on a Saturday morning feeling confident we had arrived early enough to snag an open lane for a few games...unfortunately, we definitely mistaken! It is extremely difficult to book a lane in less than a month in advance especially since so many leagues tie up the lanes pretty regularly. We did however wander over to the little cafe inside that seemed to be attracting a lot of customers, even customers who werent even there to bowl but just grab breakfast with family and friends! This cafe is quite small, but cozy with a bar along the kitchen and swivel chairs (very old fashioned diner style) where a lot 9f regulars seem to be seated! We found some space there just to check out their menu and ended ordering breakfast! My daughter ordered pancakes off the kids menu, I opted for a bowl of hearty oatmeal that came with the basic fixings (milk, brown sugar, raisins) and my husband ordered bacon and eggs which came with hash browns and a side of pancakes. I think our bill totaled to $25 including our coffee, juice, and soft drink before tip. Honestly, for the price, We will definitely be back! The pancakes were probably the most memorable, my husband really liked his hash browns and said his eggs were fresh-nothing was too greasy, burned, over or under cooked. My oatmeal wasnt bad-I was actually not expecting it to be as good as it was especially for $4! We are very picky when it comes to breakfast, regularly dining at Hash House, Mission City Grille, or Bills Cafe. We are hoping to return to bowl although going just for the breakfast would still make the trip worth it!
06/03/2021Working up here from Southern California was looking for some good food and I found it this is a all American Coffee Shop with amazing food 🇺🇸💪🇺🇸
Super friendly staff and the environment is clean and neat!
Great family fun not too expensive for a few games
It was super hot inside, took them 3 times to be asked to turn on the fans. Theres no music and you cant eat anything there.
Fun place not as fancy as others. Great service
We had so much fun there.
Safe and fast. Late lunch take out. Chicken breast sandwich and cobb salad with chicken slices. Very good and generous. Take away only
Smelled horrible outdated and ould definitey recommend bowlmor cupertino instead.
Its not the best but its okay
Great place for avid bowlers to practice!
Came here three times while in San Jose for work. Decent beer selection and plenty of options for cocktails and mixed drinks. Good prices per game for bowling. A good number of regulars and a team of fun people make for a good evening.
The owners here are very nice
Love this place.
Great breakfast. Great service. I asked if they had Joes Special. It was not on the menu. They just said sure, we can make that for you. My friend had Culotte Steak and eggs. Im impressed!
Solid standard bowling alley. Reasonable prices (14$ per game for two people) and not a long wait. They also have a bar for drinks, they serve food and they have some pool tables. Not a bad place to hang out for an evening, but dont expect any of the trimmings of some of the newer places.
The pizza wasnt very good and the employees were pretty rude, but it was pretty clean and my daughter and i had a lot of fun.
Clean. It is a place where you are stepping back in time to the 1950s. The environment is clean. The Bowling Alley was very CLEAN.Amazed. Stopping by for a meal pick up and the Grilled Cheese was so gooood!!!! The fries were thin, good for the person needs to watch the weight gain. It was spacious for a Dinner and bowling. I would enjoy coming back someday. Waitresses were friendly and kind.
The bowling here is nice. We were able to get in and bowl a few games with no wait. 8 enjoy the lanes here and the food is pretty good.
Good place to bowl. It seems more of a competitive alley than the usual family hang out spot. A little run down but its affordable.
One of my favorite bowling places! They got everything you can think of in one place. Many bowling lanes, arcade, music, pool, bar, and food. Very nice place
I really enjoy this place Im not much of a drinker so Im not too sure about the bar scene but every time I walk by they usually have pretty good beer on tap so youre safe. I just like to play bowling and if youre just like me this is your place you can either come here with friends or you can come here by yourself either way its a good time.
Today we played 2 sets.We were kindly welcomed by the staff. Paid for the games after playing. The staff are flexible and friendly.Had some crunchy fries and a couple of Fat Tire beers when playing.Had a great time
Been here a few times. The equipment is better than many bowling centers. No lane equipment breakdowns, the shoes are fairly new and clean, and they have actual fingertip balls in and amongst the lane balls. The restaurant has decent food and actually has a pretty strong clientele independent of the bowling alley business. Located in a pretty quiet area North of downtown SJ so no trouble with parking either.
Very dissatisfied with the food.. DONT TRY THE CHICKENS FRIED STEAK!!! THE FOOD USED TO BE GREAT THERE... This chicken fried was served in a little saucer plate with a cup of gravy .. It was got in two.. Small portion.. And so thin... It was dried out..GROSS... THE BOWLING & POOL ARE GOOD...
Over priced even though the place is super old and was practically empty on a Friday Night. They dont have any specials on bowling. Staff members (a few not all) were rude and unaccommodating. Came from out of town and I definitely didnt feel welcome.
Went bowling here the other day and it was a lot of fun. We came on a Sunday during the day and it wasnt crowded at all and quiet which was nice. The lanes are nice and taken care of. The shoes even seemed cleaner than some of the other bowling alleys Ive been too. Its nice because they also have pool tables and a place to grab some food. The pool tables are charged by the hour and if you play just one game you end up just usually paying less than 5 dollars.
Came here for the 2019 Janba bowling tournament. Place is rather small so it does get crowded. Not many seats around too. Parking was a nightmare to whoever brought vehicles as the parking place is very tight. We walked to the bowling alley from Wyndham hotel so it was not a problem for me. Theres a really nice bar & diner located within the building complex which was extremely good, imho.
Cost $50 for 2 to bowl, including rentals. After 9 PM, it gets cheaper. Super cheap.Bottle beers only but bartenders are friendly and make strong drinks.Lots and lots of cougars and older crowd, if youre into that. Great place to go for date night.
Had many fun nights at this place and their bar, good place to hang with friends or take the kids bowling. They also have a cafe that serves food, good for french fries and breakfast. Its definitely outdated, but you cant beat the prices to bowl, especially compared to the newer bowling alleys.
It was it great. Very chill perfect place to go with a group of friends. The have everything drinks, food and pool, plus the bowling cant get better then at
Had lunch in the lounge with friends. Great food, huge menu to choose anything you feel like eating, and a full service bar! Staff very friendly.
Efficiently run, the place is clean even though it was crowded with the bowling tournament I was with. The restaurant served good food down to the lanes
This place is a good bowling alley and is still affordable. I compared price with bowlero San Jose. It was $3/game vs $7/game at bowlero. They both have bowling alley, balls and electronic score boards. If youre going bowling, rather than having a party or date night, this place makes sense. I would have given 5 stars but its just not as clean or well kept as the other places that are youve the price.
We go to the diner! Best kept secret in town! Been coming here for 40 years and Ill be coming for another 40!
Coffee shop visit with friends, group of 10 so got excellent service from wait staff kathy. Good food and good presentation
This place is great! The site is well maintained and the service is professional. The oil conditions are some of the best around. Weather your playing for fun or serious bowler, 4th Street ball is perfect for a good time.
Dolores, the bar tender is so racist against Samoans. As soon as me and my family walked in she says that she doesnt want no problems and we cant bring no drinks in. We bought drinks all night so she already judged us before hand. Automatically she assumed that we came to start trouble. We just came from a family funeral and wanted to spend some family time, hear some good music and karaoke. She said there were Samoans that came last week and they started trouble which had nothing to do with us. We were having the time of our lives and all of a sudden the music goes off and it was 1145 she said it was getting too loud. Hello, its a bar everyone was happy and dancing. She cut the music off but still kept serving alcohol. Doesnt make sense. She compares all Samoans thinking all of us are nothing but trouble. Never coming here again.
Little diner for some good eats. Bowling fun. Pool tables. Bar, kareoke and dancing. No cover charge and no dress or shoe code. You just need the courage to get on stage and sing in front of everyone.
It is good but the bartender was really slow had to wait like half hour for one drink with no one present at the bar. The bowling lane is good but the balls have small holes.
My kids had fun which was the point of going. Customers service was eehhh. . . not thee best but tolerable. Great prices besides that. We spent $68 for 8 kids and rented 8 shoes for one game. One game for them was good enough. Will go back without kids lol
Dont know about bowling, but San Joses hidden gem of a coffee shop/diner. If you want great food at a cheap price and dont mind going to a bowling alley. Its got counter and booth seating. You definitely feel like your in an old 1950s alley diner, but it has been updated. Clean and fresh food. Good food at reasonable price. Staff is really nice and professional.
My go to spot for a lazy breakfast on Sundays. Sometimes breakfast happens at 9:00 AM, but more often at noon or even 2:00 PM. The food is always good and reasonably priced. The service is friendly and efficient. They are usually bustling but the wait to get your coffee topped off is never very long. Ive been coming here for years.
I didnt really get a chance to bowl but the atmosphere was good. Wish I could review the cafe separately because the staff in the cafe was AMAZING
I had a very good time though bowling with my family and enjoy it and they had great customer services and very nice to
Most weeknights this place will be booked because of league! There are cheaper alternatives but this place is the best venue for casual and serious bowlers alike. Check out their website for weekly deals too. They have an arcade and billiards for waiting and helpful staff as well as a bar/food. Would recommend coming here!
Hands down, the best bowling alley in the area. The lanes are well maintained, perfectly oiled, and function flawlessly. It has a great pro shop with an equally great selection and a very knowledgeable staff that does great work (talk to Marvin, hes a beast). They run multiple leagues during the day/afternoon which is great if you are looking to join one at a legitimately professional grade alley; though it does make lane availability for the casual bowler difficult at times. Whats even better is that there is an awesome old-school-feel diner with delicious food in the same building, as well as an equally amazing karaoke bar just waiting for the next William Hung to stroll in after tossing a few 300s. They also have billiards available in the front if thats your thing, or want something to do other than eat and drink until your lane is available. This is a great place for the serious and casual bowler alike and definitely deserves a visit if you havent already.
Lots of fun...had fundraising bowling event for H.S. scholarships this afternoon, it was clean, bar served good drinks, bowlers had fun, they reserved lanes for our group....gave us good rate....very enjoyable!
This was an okay bowling alley definitely not kid friendly considering there was people smoking inside and it did not feel inviting. It was still fun but they have no seating at all for a party biger than 2. Everyone was standing the entire time.
Best bowling alley in San Jose by far. I bowled the Monday night TNBA league and it was a blast. The facility is cozy and kept up nicely and the staff is awesome. Lots of good friends made here and good times for bowlers and non-bowlers alike! Highly recommend!!
Good place to go with friends and have some adult fun.. Workers are alright.. The bar/lounge is alright.. Been in the city for a long time! Check it out if ever bored..
Always a good place to hangout and bowl. Havent tryed the food yet but definitely have a good time.
This is for the Coffee Shop:Some days you want to eat at a diner. You want vinyl seats, white Formica counter tops, and blue plate specials. You want a waitress who appears to not care but secretly loves this place more than her kids, and pie thats better than Moms. Grilled cheese, burgers, and malts that make you weep quietly into your whipped cream.Of course, these places dont really exist outside of Hollywood, but if youre in San Jose, go to The Coffee Shop. Its not impossibly perfect. But its a perfect diner. We had the blue plate special after the kind of cold day where you lose your toes and would gladly climb over your own mother to get back inside and it warmed me to the tips of my fingers. Meat, potatoes, a side of veggies, and dessert, all of them good, rich, and homemade. Even the Italian dressing was made in the house, which is so charming to see.Im always surprised to find a restaurant that cooks its own food.
This place is great to go dancing and/or karaoke and after 9 any day of the week in the bar area. Its nice to have somewhere to go every single night of the week for dancing, Whereas many other places dont have dancing on Mondays and Tuesdays for instance. Plus the additional make karaoke makes it more fun. Yay!
Beware the son of the owner if hes working. I was a regular here for over three years. Never had a single issue of any kind. He picked up a server shift and within minutes of talking to this guy he was raising his voice and getting physical. He said he was the manager but I had never seen him in three years of going there. Because, I switched to decaf and asked for a piece of paper to write something down on. Will never go back.
The cafe here has excellent food! Never a wait and the servers are the best. The Monte Cristo is to die for... you will be this place!
Affordable and value for money. Decent stop. No fancy stuff.
Had lots of fun at the bowling alley. Not only do they have a billiard, they also have a bar, dancing, and karaoke! It was great. Staff are helpful from the minute you walk in. This place was packed with lots of people who wanted to spend their night having lots of fun. At 4th street bowl, you will achieve that.
Very rude behavior of staff. We keep going here many time but this time their machine counting was wrong .It was not shifting to next row (to next player) but putting score in one row only. We informed about this to staff but he said he will not reset game from start. First he gave excuse machine is delaying response it will reflect later but when we waited for that still it was showing wrong. But he didnt reset our game. He was talking rudely and left the counter without proper solution.
My favorite bowling place and the guys working at the desk is so friendly and nice. Their lanes are very clean and even the leagues are there for their games so that mean theyre serious to find a good place to bowl. I like it that they dont have the music on and lights are on. Their rate for Tues for all you can bowl is great which I do go weekly with my daughter.
Great diner food. Love the liver and onions includes soup or salad, fries or mash potato and a vegetable. Also super breakfast. 8ve been going there for 20 years and always consistent. Highly recommended.
Came here on a Sunday night with my bf - I hadnt been back here in 10 years and honestly nothing has changed which is maybe a good thing but also a little updating would be nice.Parking- there is a large parking lot in front of the bowling alley and its free.Cafe - prices are reasonable. We ordered a regular size order of fries and an order of onion rings to go while we waited for our lane. Total came to around $9.50 which isnt terrible as they were pretty large sizes sides!Bowling - we had to wait for about 30 minutes for a lane which might not be normal for a Sunday night but it was right before New Years Eve so this could have changed it. There were a few large parties. Two people, two games each, shoe rentals for both came to $28 (shoes run large so size down). They have a full sized bar inside where I hungout many moons ago and sang karaoke. Price for a bottled beer is $5. Im not sure if you can bring in your own alcohol but I definitely saw some people doing it. You can bring in your own food which is nice! Its a fun place if you want to come hangout with friends, grab a drink, play pool or bowl with no frills. If youre looking for a new state of the art bowling alley this isnt your place.I think prices are fair I just think it could use a bit of a facelift, esepcially the diner.
Nice place to hangout with friends.. Has an attracted pub and coffee shop that open till late.. Cocktails are really good. I Prefer going during weekday nights due to lower rates. Only annoying thing about this place is that you usually dont find right size bowls.
Only real bowling alley left. Love this place. Great bar, authentic coffee shop, nicely lit lanes.Best part is there is no blacklight bowling or disco night club theme here.
Great
This place awesome good fun and the barkeep yeah they got to help a bar out there off of the lanes have a nice guy places fun clean good atmosphere
We visited this place recently. Although they have weekly bowling specials their prices seemed to be a bit high. Each game for each person was $4.50 + $4.00 for shoe rental. So if you are going with a group of people be prepared to pay a pretty penny. The restaurant that is attached have raised their prices for food. When we order the chicken nuggets they charged $5.47 for 6 small pieces. As you check the menu on their site the price was $3.75, which seemed reasonable. When showing them the price on Google from their own menu they had stated that it is 10 years old and just chuckled. I, as most people, enjoy bowling and grubbing but am disappointed at being gouged when it comes to overpriced items, it makes for a very disappointing experience.
Worst place for familyWe had a really worst experience. We went for bowling with kids and the person on the counter said we cannot play with our griping shoes. And must rent their shoes then he gave us the place to play but during the second round to discontinued our game connection on the grounds that we had kids. Then he said we have to pay for the discontinued game also. It was like ruining your evening and then paying a tip. I felt so bad. They charged us 28$ like we paid 10$ for the unsatisfied game. I will not recommend anyone this place. Highly dissatisfied. Worst place for family
Its not the nicest place to bowl but if you just want to have a good time with friends & family you cant go wrong at this place.
This is for the Coffee Shop... I hadnt been there since the remodel around 3 years ago, but now that I made it back there... Ill definitely be going there again! Food and service were great! The prices are comparable with many other restaurants in the area.
I went here for a benefit for Los Bomberos childrens toy drive. The price was good and the onsite restaurant and bar were great!
This place is great staffs polite good atmosphere what else could you ask for in a bowling alley man its fun
Everything is good here just dont order the chicken fried steak, it wasnt very good!
If you love bowling and live downtown its grear, got a bar and a Diner thats open until a certain time and if youve partied much snd are hungry its next to La Vic!!
Nice cool quiet place for bowling. Have karaoke 7 days a week
Nice little neighborhood recreation center, pool tables, small arcade area and a lounge for the adults.
