Love Haberdasher! The staff there are amazing and super helpful. You can look at the menu to decide what you want, but I prefer talking to the bartenders about what sort of flavor profile Im in the mood for and other drinks I know I like.The drinks there are so good! The ingredients they use are top notch. I also like watching them make the drinks, especially the ones that require a bit of finesse.This isnt the type of place you go to to pound drinks; its a place to appreciate what youre sipping on. If you wanna go somewhere to get cheap cocktails to get drunk, there are plenty of other places for that in San Jose. Haberdasher is for keeping it classy.Recommend making reservations, and make sure you have proof of vaccination on hand.

Wonderful staff and some of the best drinks Ive ever had. The bar is fully staffed and everyone takes proper COVID-19 precautions. Vaccination proof required upon entry (take a pic of your card and youll get in). Do yourself a favor and make reservations; youll be seated at a booth instead of at a table

It has a nondescript front entrance and has a speakeasy vibe, though with no password. Id recommend making a reservation online though to guarantee a spot. Cocktails themselves are great and bartenders are really friendly. Depending on how busy the bar is it can be a little wait to get a drink but its worth it!

Looooove!! As awesome as I imagined it would be. Great music, red velvet, low lighting, with a swanky vibe. Bartender Eddie is knowledgeable, helpful and make amazing cocktails too. Could sit here all day sipping on whatever is served up.Keep in mind it is not well marked from the street. Make your way down the kinda creepy looking hall and be prepared to have a great time!

My friend and I had a great time lounging there. We made an appointment prior to going, so we got to seat. Small basement lounge, limited seating. Very quaint though, wonderful decor reminiscent of the 20s and prohibition. Love the hat light fixtures. Wonderfully creative drink menu, great servers.

I was craving a cigar around 10:30 p.m. on a Tuesday night, so, being from out of town, I looked on my phone to find where cigars were sold near me. This bar popped up on my GPS, so I walked over and had a great experience. The bartending staff was extremely friendly, and the selection of cigars was okay. I loved the atmosphere and decor; it was very unique. I had two drinks while there; two Monte Carlos. Both were carefully prepared and tasted great. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, and plan to go back the next time that I am in San Jose.

Well its a good spot to top off your date. This place takes reservations for tables. All drinks have pretty stable quality. Most of them dont impress - they are just decently good (almost great). Although its really important bar feature, so Im giving 5 out of 5. Go for matcha cocktail (first photo) - its a liquid perfectly balanced ice cream with liquor.

I love speakeasies and Ive been to many! I very much enjoyed my experience at Harbordasher. Bartenders were excellent to speak with. I got the Zihuatanjeo which is a mezcal cocktail with rosemary syrup. The perfect type of people were in there, and this place was very cozy. I did not look for an elevator, but unless they have one this is not a handicap accessible spot.

Love this craft cocktail bar. Their themed nights are the best. We came on Halloween for Harry Potter night. They go all out from the costumes to the décor and themed drinks and food. The staff is amazing and super fun! We had the best time. Always a good idea to make a reservation on yelp if you want a table.

I always enjoy a speakeasy. Cocktails are a bit pricey ($13 or so) but made for your taste bud and worth it. This speakeasy is 20s theme and you get that vibe from the furniture, and outfits of the bartenders. Really chill place. You can carry a conversation here and the background hip hop music was dope.

I loved watching the bartender make my drink. He was very friendly. If you’re not sure what to drink, just tell the bartender what flavors you like and he/she will make you a great drink.So I really recommend this drink for people that love sweet, soft drinks; Di Venere. It’s so fluffy, taste very fruity and has egg whites.One of the best bars even though it’s a tad small.

The drinks are SO GOOD. The vibe is still chill and relaxed but now you can be a bit louder. Amazingly good time here!

I loved the vibes of this place!! A friend and I made a reservation for 2 for girls night out and we absolutely loved it, I would also suggest a reservation as you get to walk straight in (no waiting in line) and sit in a reserved area with velvet booths, very classy! The drinks can get pricey, but are delicious. The Moscow mule order gets you a take home mug and the snacks were tasty, although I would prefer a wider variety of snacks (only nuts & jerky). It was very laid back and had chill vibes, not somewhere to get wasted (which isnt my scene anyway), but somewhere to enjoy what youre sipping on. Ill definitely be returning!

I really love this place! Its hard to find a place in San Jose that serves decent drinks. The bartenders here are really great and take good care of you. I usually tell them what type of flavors I like and theyve been pretty spot on drink recommendations.I was worried back when they did the remodel from Single barrel because I thought they would change to just another normal bar. Looks like they only changed the ambiance of the place and allow more people at a time.Definitely recommend this place for a good time!

A fun place to get a drink with a friend but beware, it can get busy and there isnt much space, youll have to wait several minutes to get a drink on busy nights. The drinks are also expensive but Id say theyre worth it if you are into savoring neat flavors. Maybe dont come here on Saturday night if youre thirsty, but definitely check it out on a date because the place can be pretty intimate and fun.

I come here every time Im in San Jose, and Im always impressed. Consistently excellent cocktails, affable and attentive service, and elegant cozy ambiance without being snooty. Take note, this is an AMAZING date night place. The picture is from my most recent visit, during their Liquid Supper event (they had house-made boozy otter pops made with from-scratch limoncello, flash-frozen tableside with liquid nitrogen). I was absolutely floored, and yes they were delicious.

Love Haber. It can be crowded at times, but generally the wait is minimal, if it even exists, and the atmosphere of the establishment doesnt suffer for the noise and space. (I personally still prefer coming during the week when theres less traffic.) The bartenders and staff are really chill, friendly, and they make some damn fine drinks. The price isnt too bad, either. I always recommend it to anyone looking to go downtown for a drink.

One of the bartenders is a GENIUS. She was able to mix three different drinks at the same time, as well as tailoring drink recommendations to the clients preferences. The atmosphere was swanky, and old timey. Very prohibition era feel. Elegant bar, and individual seating areas for different sizes of parties.

The bartenders here are amazing. One of the bartenders made me a Matcha Flip, which was amazing. Not too sweet, not too strong. It was a well balanced drink with subtle flavors. Found out they use rock sugar, which explained the unique flavor. Thank you!

I found the cocktails to be good but not spectacular. The bartender Rachel was very friendly and helpful, though. It got very busy on a Friday night - definitely make a reservation ahead of time. It was nice to have a relatively quiet nook carved out for reservations in midst of the big crowds.

Meticulously planned decor and music always set to a tasteful volume, this is one of those warm, dark bars perfect for a date.

Its a really nice place. My friends made a reservation, which is recommended. Its like a hidden cellar. When you enter its super cozy and fun. The cocktails are delicious. The person making the cocktails walks by the tables and you can ask him/her for a special cocktails that fits your preferences. Definitely try something new that they advice! Its great

Absolutely loved this place

A non discript entry way with a door person leads you down stairs to a speakeasy. No secret word to get in though. Below theres a bar with a few seats, some tables divided between reserves and open table. Nice drinks and friendly staff who are quick to clear any empty glasses.

Always get the lightning bolt every time I come here and yum, strawberries. Came here once on a Sunday around ~4:30pm and it hadnt gotten too busy that my friend and I were able to sit down at the bar and chat with the bartender while he made our drinks.

Nice setting bar with old school atmosphere. The bar is underground and the entrance has some turn making it a little hidden, the purpose of the speak easy. There is a section of the bar that requires reservation that you can do online on their website. Barmen are nice and polite. I found that service is a little slow due to the time required to make cocktails and if there is a crowd, you may have to wait quite a bit. The bar is at the entrance and the seating at the back. Nice wooden lacquered wall table and seats. I found the drinks to be on the expensive side for the size. Overall nice bar.

Amazing and Best drinks in town.

Visited on a Wednesday I think. Had a friend come into town and asked me to take him here again. The place has a nice feel to it. Food is similar to a cafe in Indianapolis I loved.

The menu has a nice variation of spirit-based cocktails, and every one we tried was on point. Cozy, not too loud. Great for a date night or an after-dinner top-off. Very welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Making a drink is an art .... The haberdasher takes that art to the next level of customer service. every bartender is trained exactly the same so that when you go in there and you order a drink youre guaranteed to have exactly the same drink that you ordered the previous visit. they have a club called the bootleggers club and with that comes opportunities to taste rare and unusual whiskeys once every quarter.

Great drink, nicest bartenders youll ever meet. You can tell they enjoy making the drinks and talking to customers . Environment is really cool. Low ceilings, dark atmosphere. It can however get very crowded on weekends. That can break the experience, so go on a weeknight.

The atmosphere here can be a bit loud and bright - which is why it’s perfect for the beginning of the night when you and some friends want to slam some cocktails and get your energy up. I love coming here when I’m with a high-energy group and just letting conversation flow. If you start getting tired, this place is also close to a few other more calm spots where you can let the night wind down. Haberdasher is always on our list for late-night SJ adventures.
