Normally had good dealings with them for 2 years now...but today brought in car for overheating issue and was told cam shaft damaged and wasnt turning water pump. Turns out was opposite, the water pump was worn and cam shaft fine. So a $5000 quote was really about $150 quote. Sorry, but will no longer do service here.

Not very communicative staff. Left my truck, was quoted 45 minutes and after over an hour with no call I find it done but at over quoted price. Note: no one called to verify any extra charges. They had to manually input my card which made the system take another 15 minutes, again not communicated to me why. Over 3 vehicle visits Ive had a good interaction with 1 employee that would actually make me go back to this location.

Dont do you service there, I did my oil change service and they didnt right so all the oil was gone in like 3 hours and I had to pay another mechanic to fix the problem and tow my car plus waste of timeThe owner dont want to pay for anything and he was very rude with me.!! Dont go there.

Always service my cars here, never to long a wait and car Always serviced correctly. Quality oil products and the guys are good at what they do. Highly recommend for maintenance and doesnt void your vehicle warranty.

Such a nice and polite staff. True professionals who always do good work. They took care of me when another spee-dee didnt install my drain plug correctly. Ever since then this is the only place I do my oil changes.

Scam!! Call for a Smog check price they asked me my year and model of my car and then was told it would be $50.When they finished I was charged $71 & was told that it didnt pass OBD not ready which they explain to drive 55 miles and come back in todays. when I came back in 2 days they told me they wouldnt perform another Smog check because now my fuel Gauge wasnt working. I was fed up with their BS took it to another place which it pass with flying colours. Beware of this place scam artist.

Tried but not hard enough. Left my hood unlatched. Popped up on the Freeway.

I went to get a oil change and by time I they were finished all of a sudden I noticed antifreeze coolant splatter on engine hoses. They told me I needed a diagnostics and it cost $140. I asked when did the leak happen because there wasnt any splatter when I checked under the hood the same morning. Thats when another mechanic mentions that I need a pressure test for $50. I usually take my car to the dealer but decided that a oil change shouldnt put my car at risk from a eager mechanic trying to oversell everything from brakes to belt replacement. NEVER AGAIN!

Wow! The shop manager Andrew and the entire staff at SpeeDee-Midas were wonderful! We pulled in with a flat tire and they quickly found the leak and patched the hole. Everyone was very friendly and we got a great deal. It was one of the employee’s birthday and they offered us a piece of cheesecake! Would give a 6/5 stars!

Went to them for a smog check for DMV, when another shop said their computer couldnt talk to my truck. They found a blown fuse, fixed it at no charge, and did the Smog Check. AWESOME Service! And no waiting, except for the time it took to do the service. Well be back, definitely.

I was in and out with no problems. I was there for an oil change. Visit took about 20 minutes. Costumer service was great. I will be returning and recommending this place.

Don’t come here.I showed up early on a Saturday, 4 guys working and nobody in front of me.I needed four simple tasks that should have been about 45 minutes worth of work to do...In two hours they did two jobs correctly, one incorrectly and one unfinished.They didn’t even rotate my tires correctly, it’s an X guys, not supposed to keep tires on the same side of the vehicle when you rotate them.Also, soapy water in a squirt bottle will show you wear the leak is on a tire real quick, I can’t believe you tried to find it just visually, are you serious?At least the woman at the front desk was nice...

Dont know where everyone getting they are rude. But i just had great service guy explained the charges ahead of time they were quick friendly. Seriously couldnt ask for better the girls in lobby offered me coffee. I say its great. And for the people with the over charge i think if you listen to them when they explain it from the beginning you would know what the price is. Again best place awesome employees.

Watch out. They will RIP you off. They were going to charge me $250 to replace a heater core connector. The mechanic told me that it will take him 2.5 hours to replace it. I looked it up on YouTube and it only takes 5 minutes to replace and the job was very simple to do. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE THIEVES AND LIARS.

This place is a joke, my wife took our truck there and after a long wait, this tech, (not really) comes to her and says there are 2 problems, the air filter needs to be changed and the power steering system needs to be flushed. So my wife (being somewhat mechanically inclined) says show me, the idiot hasnt even checked the filter and struggles to get the filter out which is brand new looking and cant explain why we need a power steering flush with his flashlight in the side of our reservoir. Trying to upcharge, especially without looking at the said problem is against the law and will be reported to the BAR

Leon and his crew are awesome and very helpful. They were just about to close, when I drove up. My engine light had come on and I needed to know what code was displayed. They took the time to diagnose my issue and didnt require a fee....how cool is that.Thank you guys..I have always used you for my oil service and I will be a customer forever.

Went for oil change and after completion the guy indicates the belt has some problem is old and better I replace it to avoid being stranded roadside.I decide to go ahead since it’s almost 90k on my car, however seemed from online forums I didn’t require changing belt. Ignoring that aspect, the main issue is that after belt change on rare occasion the car wheels seem to jerk/rotate/skid in place, so basically I had no issues before belt change and now I am always worried something will break down due to mechanic not putting the belt properly or whatsoever.

I went to speedee’s to get an oil leak “fixed”. Andrew assured me that he would be able to find it and stop it. They preformed a wash and dye to pin point the leak and my car continued to leak oil after paying them $200 for what they claimed was the oil pressure sensor. Later my dad looked at it and fixed the leak for $40 and a few hours. It was just a gasket that needed to be replaced.Bottom line they will take advantage of you!!!

My daughter and I go here all the time. When we first started going we always complained that they are not Speedy at all it seems that we were always waiting forever. Also I felt that Some of their technicians are a bit rude and arrogant. After speaking with the owner, that soon changed. The ladies in the office are very nice all the time, love them.My only complaint is that I took my truck in to be diagnosed for a major job. I chose to have the work done there. It would have been nice if they took off some of the diagnostic charge, since I chose to have the work done there.Other then that, this place is alright to our family in fact Im going there today for an oil change.

Took my car in for brakes, they still work, but when I asked where they got their parts because they were twice as high as the most expensive as what I saw online, the woman behind the smiled and looked at me like she didnt understand English....... Personally, I was a bit insulted since what I paid probably paid her wages for the week.Probably better to take my business elsewhere next time.

NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE> Keep away from this place !!! Do not go to this place as they are cheating customers. I CAUGHT them RED HANDED when they suggested two of my tire TPMs ( tire pressure monitors) need to replacement costing $300 more while on my way to collect car after a problem they created last week when did new tire replacement work. I went next 3 minutes to collect vehicle its parked with one tire is very low on pressure.YES if one tire is LOW on pressure certainly a working TPM will show the tire is on low pressure. This they told on Phone as if could have agreed they can just properly inflate tires and charge me $300. I ran away from this place paying the brake and drum replacement work they did knowing they continuously make sure introduce new problems to come again.As soon as I checked all tire pressure one of the tire pressure is very low psi ( 10 ) . I clearly see they left the tire with low pressure to have the indicator continuously ON so I accept to change TPMs. DO NOT fall into trap. Suggest all your friends to NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE again.This is how they manipulated overall me in 2 weeks making repeatedly come1. Went for tire puncture/pressure check as seen low pressure indicator2. They immediately suggested replace tires as better than looking for reason low pressure/puncture ( i was stupid to agree the tire replacement though the tires have like 2+ years life in them )2. while agreed tire changes ( they suggested replace brake pads ~$300 ) ; Because while doing tires they can do brake pad easily. At this time not suggested any tire drum/disc replacement. They suggested brakes as I already getting done work on new tires and paying $350+3. They made sure the brake pad existing when put pack ( either put back different old ones they have lying there or made sure to put and place so that it start touching the drum making sound ); My vehicle before this never made any sounds on brake/moving.4. As they made sure the brake pad put starts squeaky sounds ..sure that customer thinks what they suggested is truth and come back. After one week of annoying sound I went back thinking at worst change brake pads.5. This forced me to come back this shop again as continues sound not tolerable .6. When you go for brake sound they suggest along with brake pad full drum replacement7. After getting done all they suggested they suggested - TPM ( tire pressure monitor system on 4 tires - two of them gone bad )8. They make sure tire pressure is low so when you turn on car notice the low pressure indicatorThey are truly introducing problems into your vehicles to make sure you go for what they suggesting.keep away from this store. I suspect if all Speedee/Midas stores are like this or only these guys. I am now forced to fine another car service shop. I am sure if they continue this behavior long term they lose all repeating customers. I have been a regular customer at this store last 3 years for basic vehicle Oil changes or smog check and now I am sure they are the losers.I could have given ZERO stars but that option is not there.

I give them a 0 star if I could!! They charged so much more for a smog check...$80 for one vehicle!!! I got it down to $60. Found another place afterwards that charged $45 including a full car wash! So, dont go here go to 76 Fastlane and get it done there! Wish I knew before wasting $60!!!!

I just had excellent service at this place. Like so much so that I knew I had to review it because the level of customer service was above average. I went in to get my car smogged for the DMV. The owner greeted me with a genuine smile and was very kind in directing me where to park my car and how to fill out the paperwork. I didnt have an appointment and went around 3:30pm on a Thursday. I waited about 20 minutes - not bad at all! There were 5 other people waiting for service too and everyone seemed happy. The waiting area was clean. There was free coffee and Wi-Fi. They have a digital pricing board that clearly displays all their fees. At the front desk, the woman who checked me out for the service was very efficient, concise and thorough. You can tell that the owner takes pride in his business. To all the previous reviews commenting about the prices -- everywhere in San Jose is ridiculously expensive to begin with. The people who work here need to make a living too. When I look for reviews, I look for quality service and a place that I can trust -- not just bottom line fees. I hope my review helps anyone else who feels the same way. Thanks SpeeDee Oil for making my experience stress-free!

Great employees, but this place is a rip off and a half. 12 dollars for extra quarts of oil. That is 3x the price. The dude that owns this place is a crook. The place is gross and unclean. Hard pass.

Got an oil change and they replaced my oil cap but they put the replacement on incorrectly and it popped off while I was driving and caused the engine compartment to get covered in oil, the oil that spilled out all over the engine burned up and overheated the engine. Went to a different mechanic who said this was a simple fix that he didnt understand how they messed up.

Terrible. I went in for oil change with a $29.99 Oil change coupon. Since my oil filter is canister type they told me I needed to pay extra $10. Fine. Waited 45 minutes to find out they drained all the oil but could not remove the oil filter. They took another 20 minutes putting 5 quarts of oil in then charged me for the regular filter (included in coupon) even though the did not change the filter totaling $38 plus 1 hour and 15 minutes.They probably messed up my canister and just told me they could not get it off. First question they asked me after 45 minutes of work: Who changed your oil last time? What kind of question is that?

I went here a couple of years ago to fix my flat tire, they ended up breaking my sensors... and theyve advised me that it will go away after driving a few miles... I went to Honda after and theyve told me that sensors got broken...

Got my brakes done at this place. Not happy with there job.I know they did wrong with everything they did from brake pads to everything that has to do with a brake job. Got brakes done about a year ago brakes still squeaking. Did go back there a while back . They tried to charge me more for there mistake. Makes me sick thinking about it. Oil change there is ok. But major jobs I think twice about that. The other speedee on monterey rd further down is much better. Just got to be lucky to have a good mechanic working on your car.
