EDIT: I can see why they get bad reviews... upon further inspection they didnt line up my charge port flush to the body, the o-ring was not making contact as all. They also ended up orbital sanding a portion of my trim but refused to admit they were at fault... SO going through Tesla insurance now to get them to do something.Super great experience with this Tesla Body shop location! Lina was very professional and timely in their responses—especially in the middle of a pandemic. I received the car back with all the damaged areas repaired as if new. There was one new minor scratch that was visible upon inspecting the car, but they were kind enough to repair it on the spot for me!Unsure why there are so many negative reviews in the past, but they’ve definitely gotten it together since then.

Im sure people have horror stories from any body shop, but my experience here was the exact opposite. I took my white Model 3 here for a ding repair that was right on the seam of the door panel, so it couldnt be pulled out. Ron had my estimate complete in a few hours and we were able to start the repair the same day. I was quoted 5 days turn around but I got it back in two days (dropped off Wednesday morning and picked up Friday morning). The quality of the work wasnt factory status, but it was color matched well and the ding was gone!I think what impressed me the most is that they completely detailed the interior and exterior of my car upon return (wheels, tires, vacuum inside, washed outside including door jams) and charged my car to 75%. Thats customer service! My only criticism is that they are expensive. Dont expect any hookups from this shop. They could easily be double the cost of a non-Tesla shop.

NOT ON TIME at all.Tesla body shop keep sending the same message Waiting for body parts with modified new delivery dates every time.My car is with the body shop for 29 days and already passed the initial estimated delivery date. The new date given is after another 20 day.I have no confidence Test body repair center will deliver my car in the new estimated date as well.

I would love to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Jahangir Ali, for his excellent service. He was so quick to get the appointment. He responded to all our enquires within no time. My car was done with no flaws within two weeks. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs faster and better service.

This is my second time at the Tesla body shop. It was just a minor repair this time as someone hit me (and ran) in a parking lot in SoCal.The only downside is they are too busy, so I originally had an appointment that was >2 months out. However, once they contacted me, they pulled in my appointment from Jul 15 to Jun 3. The communication was great during the repair, and initially they said it might take two weeks for the repair, but completed the job 3 days early.Great experience again.

Was a little skeptical about using the Telsa body shop given the current reviews on Google. The entire experience of the repair was excellent, prompt communication and quick repair turnaround (replacing roof glass, some minor body work in 4 business days). They even set me up with Uber credit to get to Enterprise. Lloyd and Lina, you rock!

There was a lot of miscommunication between progressive and the body shop. I had to call all parties involved to straighten out that we didnt owe any money after the other guy was found at fault. That said the work they did was exemplary, and I was contacted promptly by Lloyd to help sort out the payment fiasco. Might be time to consider Tesla insurance over progressive

It seems like this shop has been dealing with a large influx of customers due to there not being many Tesla operated body shops yet. They give you text updates on the status of your car which I appreciated. My car still had several issues when it was originally scheduled for pickup, but they made sure everything was great the second time around. If you have Tesla Insurance, they might prioritize you. I would go here again given that they do have advantages over other shops that are not Tesla operated. Hopefully, they continue to fix the scheduling issues other customers are experiencing.

I was the responsible party in a rear-end accident with my 2019 Model S performance---roughly 5,000 miles on the car. Although the car didnt appear to be too seriously damaged, and was drive-able, it had a crumpled hood, seriously damaged front fascia, and the autopilot no longer worked which made me suspect the radar and possibly other sensors were damaged.I had read moderately negative reviews about the Tesla Body Repair Center (note that they barely have over a 2-star rating), but I had had some bad luck previously with getting a dinged rear fascia painted correctly by a very reputable shop, so I decided that given the damage and the relative difficulty for non-Tesla shops getting Tesla parts, that I would try the Body Repair Center.Cutting to the chase----the experience, although frustrating, turned out to be extremely positive. By this I mean that although I had the accident on Dec 2, 2019, I was told up front that I shouldnt even bring the car in until Jan 2, 2020---which I did. I then asked for an guesstimate as to when the car might be done and the answer was a vague---oh about 3 weeks--like Jan 21 or so.I was a little disappointed that after a months wait, I still had another 3 weeks before the car would be done. However, after about 2 weeks I got a text saying that my insurance company had inspected the car, they agreed with Tesla on the repairs, Tesla had ordered the parts and the car would now be done Jan 27. OK, I could live with this.I next got a text sometime around Jan 20 that the car wouldnt be ready until February 13 (no reason given). I texted a friend who was a former Tesla employee and who knew people at the Body Repair Center to see if he could tell me what was going on---was my car so trashed that they were having a hard time fixing it? My friend said that this happens all the time---its either too much backlog or not getting parts on time---nothing to do with actually fixing the car. I then had another knowledgeable friend tell me that Tesla didnt even do the work at this shop and it was all subcontracted out. Now I was even more upset.I got yet another about Feb 7 that the car was now delayed until February 17 because one part still hadnt arrived. I decided to start a texting conversation with the person who I had originally dealt with when I dropped the car off-----a great guy named Lloyd Lawrence. Lloyd said he would check on the car, get his best techs on it and get it out as quickly as possible.Lloyd got back to me yesterday (Feb 13, 2020) and said the car was ready. So roughly 6 weeks after I dropped the car off and 10 weeks after the accident, I got the car back. Why do I give the Tesla Body Repair Center 4 stars? First, no commercial body shop was going to get parts faster than a Tesla factory-owned shop, unless, of course, they used inappropriate parts. Second, I was told up front, when I very first spoke with the shop in December after my accident, that the shop had a backlog of over 40 cars and it was the Christmas / New Years holiday---not a great time to expect instant service. Third, the shop did communicate with me at least once a week, letting me know status and although they didnt explicitly say exactly what the delay was, I have enough experience to know that parts availability and backlog are a huge problem all over the Bay Area in auto repair as well as construction, getting a plumber, repairing a broken water heater, etc. So although it was annoying and frustrating, it wasnt a total surprise. The bottom line? Tesla did a fabulous job on the car. It looked as good or better than the day last June it was delivered, it was completely detailed and practically glowed in the dark it was so shiny, and it had been repaired to the extent that one could not tell it had ever been in an accident (which is the point, of course). Lloyd Lawrence was always courteous and respectful and did the best he could to get the car completed and out of his shop. And, yes, Tesla does do all their repair bodywork and painting themselves and its top notch.

Do not recommend; took car here figuring better result from factory shop, and was disappointed. They kept my car for a week for simple repair, indicating Id be notified if it wasnt ready Friday. No notification, no car. Requested escalation, got no response (email, phone, sms -- nothing). Shop looks busy... apparently too busy for anything resembling customer communication. Staff seem to have the best of intentions, but shop seems resource constrained to the point where they just cant deliver.Update 4/16: Jose was super helpful and empathetic; he followed through on my escalation request and the manager agreed to knock about 15% off my tab; with the additional expense and hassle, this amounts to about $100 -- might as well be a potted plant. Re-escalating...Update 4/16: Escalation was pointless. Manager is inaccessible; was supposed to contact me -- has not. The *idea* of using the factory shop, with parts on hand, etc., is still appealing, but I cant recommend this place until they get their act together on the customer service front.

I dropped my Model X off to have the plastic bumper swapped out. I was told it would just take a day to do that. That didnt happen, and so I was told that they needed it over the weekend but it would be done the next Monday. That didnt happen and I was next told that they needed it until the end of the week. That didnt happen, and I was told they needed it over the following weekend but it would be ready by end of day on Monday. On Monday they said it would be done by 3PM. That didnt happen and then they basically stop communicating with me. I actually still dont have my X back and now theyve had it for going on half a month. Not only have they failed to deliver on their own promises over and over again on a very simple job, they have the worst communications of any business Ive ever dealt with. Honestly this place looks and acts like a scam not a business. Its very difficult to call them as the normally dont answer their phone. We have had to call about 6 or 7 times for each time to finally get through to someone. Via text the never respond either. They send you one way messages and then nothing if you ask a followup question. I have tried email as well with no response. If you do drop your car off here, you might want to make sure you have another long term vehicle lined up first.

Dropped my new car a month ago for a body shop job. Supposed to be done in a week or so. Still not done. Poor, unprofessional staff, never respond to follow up questions. They phone system is a sham, you feel the pain once you know more about the ways things happen there. They park cars in hot sun outside which is like a junkyard. It is so poor that many cars including new coming out of store model s, 3, and x all are so poorly kept in hot sun, dusty area. And car inside temperature got over 130F+. I came to know this from Tesla app. When asked how come it was in hot sun, and received a don’t care response and that is very normal there. What? Really? Don’t get fooled by “factory shop” hoping good experience, skills or fast work done or anything like that. this place is literally a junk yard and don’t go there. Highly recommend go somewhere else, or just don’t buy a Tesla. Overall horrible experience. They talk more and deliver poor. will update once receive the car and about workmanship.

This body shop is utterly mismanaged. Checked in my car about two weeks ago for body repairs and they dont bother to keep you posted on updates. I call today to learn that they havent even look at the car yet and they werent able to provide an estimate of when they could even take a look, let alone fix it. When asked to speak with the manager for escalation, he was in a meeting. Looking forward to his callback, which I doubt will happen because he was supposed to call me two weeks ago when I was struggling to get an appointment at this facility for a drop-off.Been two months since Ive been trying to get the repairs done to my car. Teslas after sales service and repairs experience is the worst!Either Tesla management has not empowered such locations to handle the surge of activity or they just do not care about customer experience as long as their cars are being sold.
