Havent been to an authentic Asian supermarket in very long time because they are more than 12+ miles away! This regional Chinese supermarket has so many items to choose from! For example there are 20+ different brands of soy sauce with 3 to 4 different sizes from 4oz to 128oz =gallon size! Theres hot food deli with BBQ meats, bakery dept., fresh fruits & veggies, fresh or frozen meats, poultry & seafood ...you have to see to believe how many different skus in this very clean to COVID-19 standards in this North San Jose store!

I bought a roast duck and was waiting in line to pay for it. There was an elderly lady on the right side filling up her to go box at the Deli table. Her box was over flowed with too much food and the man behind the line started yelling at her in Cantonese to the Cashier not to accept regular price from her. He was really loud and rude. The lady couldnt understand in Cantonese that her box of food would cost her $14.00 now. It was really embarrassing and unnecessary. Management needs to train the employees to treat the customers with respect, and better attitude.

Bad produce!I’ve occasionally bought spoilt food in 99 (visually it looked ok but the smells, oh the smells after I opened it). Recently it was two packets of enoki mushrooms. I’m against being on the extreme of throwing food out and wasting food but 99 should do a better job of at least making sure the food they sell is edible and fresh. I didn’t even want to return it as it was really gross. I hope this review gets seen and people are vigilant on getting fresh produce.

One of the best markets for all international items you need. I have been to many locations in several cities and they all have been clean and organized. Prices are comparable to other stores. There are so many unknowns items to me which I wish I knew what they are or how to use them. It would’ve been great if they had food demo stations but because of the covid they probably can’t.

Loving my 99 ranch as the go-to grocery store and not just for all things Asian. But for all my family grocery needs. Since the hot california summer heat has cooled down recently, I have been getting ready for winter. Luckily 99 ranch knows my heart and needs, so theyve been promoting different teas. I love the korean tea jams that I can just mix with hot water and Im ready to go. Perfect for bringing to work for a long day too.

99 ranch is like the Asian version of Costco but even better cause I don’t need to pay a membership fee. Many different types of organic and nonorganic fruits and vegetables. Recently I got some Chinese cauliflower instead of going to a Western supermarket to get the regular cauliflower. Chinese cauliflower is typically have a longer stem, sweeter, and crunchy. I find that I don’t have to cook it for as long and that way I can still maintain a crunchy texture. Perfect for some blanching, mix with carrots, olive oil, cilantro and it is a crisp refreshing salad dish!

Every time I walk into a 99 ranch, it just naturally makes me happier. I cant explain the feeling, but I know I definitely dont feel the same when I go into other grocery markets. Perhaps it is because 99 ranch reminds me of what home would have been like in Asia even if I have never lived there long term before. The Store99 Ranch Market was probably the very first asian supermarket I visited when I moved to the west coast. There were few where I lived before, so asian supermarkets were a bit foreign to me. But 99 Ranch Market has all the asian essentials needs. It might not be the best of quality sometimes, and you might need to pick and choose. But it is not bad. There also might be different opinions depending on the product you buy. They have products ranging from produce, to meat, to hardware, and many others. Aside from the normal product aisle, they also have a section dedicated to bakery and hot deli. It provides convenience to those who want to save some time from cooking themselves. The MiscellaneousThis, as well as other 99 Ranch Market are within the plaza with a good amount of parking. The inside of the store separates into different sections to help locate what you are looking for. They sometimes also have employees offering samples of products they are promoting. For most of the typical asian essentials, you can probably find it here.

As the end of the year winds down and the weather gets chiller, it is the perfect to go any one of the 99 ranches and look for their organic dried red beans to make a sweet red bean soup! Super easy to make, just cook the dried red beans in water and add sugar until the beans get soft to a texture you like. It really warms the soul like a good hot chocolate does.
