Weird, wonderful, quirky and awesome! Take lots of quarters, it’s very interactive!! Amazing to see the really old mechanical machines, and you have to see Laughing Sal! She’s spooky and weird at the same time. Also, you can re visit your younger game days when you had to go to arcades to play! And it’s free to get in!! A must see place to visit, they don’t make museums like this in many places.

Really interesting place with lots of fun vintage arcade games, fortune machines, music boxes, and penny souvenir machines. Theres also a restroom close by and a bill to quarter machine if you dont have quarters. However, the ATM doesnt work but there are ATMs nearby. You could probably spend about three hours here playing with the machines if you have enough quarters.

This place was a riot! The historical games were just as fun as Tekken 3. I wish we would have had more time to spend in here.Great for kids and adults: games range up fronantiqie to the 90s/early 2000s. Something for everyone and with most games only being 25¢ its hard to say no to the cheap thrill! The only bummer (and its not even worth a full star) is that the change machines only gave quarters and I didnt see that there was a way to change bigger bills. Still. We figured it out and had a great time.

This place is such an awesome arcade - not only for the preservation of the antique games, (which I must admit are all interesting and worth a try) but also the preservation of late 80s - 90s cabinets as well. Ive been a huge fan of light-gun games since I was a kid, my favorite being Time Crisis II, and lo and behold they happen to have it here! Brought back so many memories, even if it was solo-mode only. Not to mention the fact that nearly every game is only 1-2 quarters per play/credit on average, which is a steal compared to the modern arcades that can charge significantly higher prices, or only accept specific arcade tokens or pre-loaded cards, which Ive always disliked about modern arcades. The staff was also very courteous and friendly. I was even given $5 by one of them to get photos with a few of my brothers at the end of the night, which was very generous of them, considering how little everything costs to play. This place was great fun as someone who loves older arcade games and the traditional quarters system. I couldnt recommend this place enough!

Musée Méquanique is truly a gem thats easily lost in a big city like San Francisco. I spent some time in the city alone and was looking for things to do. This popped up and I thought it would be worth a visit, just to kill thirty minutes if nothing else. The location is right on Pier 45 in Fishermans Wharf, surrounded by plenty of things to see and eat, and not hard to find at all. The Powell-Mason cable car is just a short walk away, and the area seems very tourist-friendly.Im so glad I decided to swing by here - it was really a rare and fantastic experience. The location is large with high ceilings and good ventilation, so its actually pleasant to walk around taking your time to look at and play with all the beautiful antique machines. Most of these machines are antiques and there are signs asking you to take care when using them. There is an amazing variety of machines ranging from vintage movie machines to fortune tellers to even a couple of more recent video games tucked away in the back area.
