I dont write reviews good or bad. I never find the time for This s however, Cremona SF, will get at least something from me. After all, they spent over an two with me. No judgement from the staff, not pushy like typical sales personnel. Very accommodating and courteous. From a craftsman point of view this shop lives to create and truly strives to enhance the trade while preserving it. Rude? No. They are very welcoming even when busy. Keep in mind that true craftsmen and engineering types arent known for their personalities, they reflect passion and personality through their work and art. They typically respond to respect and appreciation. This shop treated me very well. I would highly recommend them to most.Cremona, Mr. Jose Cruz. I love the shop.Thank you.

Took my bow here for a rehair—when I got it back I was unable to tighten the bow and it was completely unplayable. Stay away from this place they have no idea what they’re doing!
My students love going to this shop! They have a rent-to-own deal for great quality violins, violas and cellos, with the best sounding strings. But they sell complete sets (instrument bow and case) for very reasonable prices. Its an all-in-one stop too because they have accessories, Everything . Bow Reahir no waiting for weeks one day service . All ages are welcome here, and amateurs and professionals are all treated kindly. Their bow rehairs are excellent! It is a close walk from Symphony . stop, or Bus and Bard No 1. ShopBest place for any repairs ...
Very very Classy!! And Elegantly displayed. Too any woman or Gentleman of Leisure, Id certainly recommend Cremona Violin to visit at least once in this Lifetime!!
Very nice decor, aesthetically pleasing. Browsing the goods was encouraged without any pressure to buy.
Had to have a re-hair before a competition. I picked up the bow and noticed immediately the spreader was sticking out and looked as if the hair was going to fall out. I suffered thru my competition, only to realize the hair was very low standard for college level and performing. The next day, I flew to Minneapolis for another competition and had to have another re-hair done, because the Cremona Shop obviously did not know how to trim the spreader inserted to hold the hair.,and the quality horse hair was for a beginner student. ( very low quality.) I took pictures of the GLUED part and emailed the shop asking to refund my money. I even sent the hank of hair back to the shop in San Francisco/ They stated they would send a check/ That was 2 months ago. He did not know how to do professional work. Sloppy, and offered a refund only to never follow through/
This is by far one of the nicest and most welcoming violin repair facilities that I have ever been to. I have toured the world has a musician playing with Cirque du Soleil and other big acts. One thing that bothers me about classical musicians and the community as a whole, is the incredible snobbery.I was helped by a seasoned professional that had the kindness and awareness to deal with my modest instrument with care. He has over 20 years of experience working with Stradivarius is and other highly valuable musical instruments.I highly recommend this place if you come in with the right attitude . Jose has a lot of heart!
Superb quality instruments excellent service. Affordable prices high end store.
Mr. Jose C .is a gem - just visited him to have my violin repaired and I was so impressed by how knowledgeable and sweet he was. Im a professional musician, but it was a treat even for me to visit his shop and learn more about my violin. J.B. Vuillaume.. which I didnt know much about . Vuillaume born in the 1798. And 1828 open his violin Shop and he devote himself entirely completed for 30 years making instruments ..in 1867 he got the World Exhibition that was the highest honor of his time..ThePrices are really reasonable, and like everyone else has mentioned, Mr. Jose shop is beautifully. I highly recommend seeing him if your instrument needs repairs or sprucing up. I know I will be back!..
Violins chellos bows oh my. Great place by a renowned Luthier. Dont be taken by expensive overpriced dealers elsewhere. Jose is awesome
I own a French Cello by J.B. Vuillaume, Paris 18 Century .I took my cello for ( Restorer. To Cremona with Mr. Jose Cruz . gluing, varnishing, fingerboard, sound-post adjustment - basically needed the lot, barring a bridge - to along with my Sartory bow for rehair. And new Silver winding . And fit ivory tip.I Got the cello and bow back yesterday. It looks stunning and sounds astonishing. No new strings: just dedicated, delicate, polished workmanship. Couldnt be more impressed, highly recommended.I think isOne of the best quality shops for string instruments in San Francisco . They combine instruments for all serious budges and violinist. Great customer service and attention to details. The repair service is really good as well...
Jose Cruz is a crook. He has swallowed thousands of dollars worth of my valuable instruments including Pistucci violin and EA Ouchard bow. He is also a liar and will deny everything. He also worked together with Joe Tang notorious violin thief. Tang thenstole from his buddy Cruz so Cruz became a victim. Boo Hoo.
Address is incorrect! I went there but there are no signs! And there is only an old poster outside and phone numbers were disconnected.
Great experience there, the luthier was very nice and considerate of your situation.
