While it wasn’t the ideal scenario as I ended up getting upsold to a more expensive unit, the discount offered was a fair enough compromise worth agreeing to. Bumping my review to 3 stars for the good customer service.Original, unedited review below.—Be sure to bring a measuring tape before renting out any of their units.Public Storage gets an extra star for friendly service, but the measurements on their website are *very* inaccurate — my unit was 30% smaller than what was agreed to. No joke.What’s worse is once explaining the situation over the phone, I was apologized to and told I would receive a complementary upgrade to a larger unit. Nope. The manager on the property took a look at the notes and refused.“Measurements are approximate” they told me. 30% smaller than advertised is *not* approximate. It’s not even close.

We have rented a unit since 2015 and are so appreciative of the excellent service provided by Robert and Derek. We currently transferred units andRobert was so helpful in making the process painless and a pleasant experience. Customer service was and is EXCELLENT!

I was completely unsure of this place, (because Ive never been to a storage facility :D) But she reassured me and answered any concerns I had, and it all went really well and I could not have been more happier! Its really convenient that they have parking & ramps to help with taking things into the place, and an elevator! And an amazing helper, Pamela :D

Pamela helped a tremendous amount!! I was just buying a lot of boxes, but She was kind and smiled and helped me with everything I needed to know! Theres lots of packing supplies that I would seriously recommend. The experience at Public Storage was nice, everything was extremely clean, it felt really safe and Covid friendly!

This was my first time using a storage unit and I definitely would again if the need arose!Robert and Pamela were incredibly helpful in making the move in & out seamless and easy. They worked with me when I had questions and concerns and also spent time making sure I understand all my options. I would definitely recommend working with them! This storage is also indoors and you receive a code to get inside so I always felt that both myself and my items were safe - which is super important!

I share the space with my pal. He didnt give me the right information to get in. After wandering around like someone who didnt belong, Pamela was quick to see I needed help. Instead of turning me away because apparently my pal didnt add me to his list. She was patient and reached out to my pal to get authorization which was really nice. She resolved the issue and showed me how to get in and where to go. This could easily have gone the other way. Pamelas a rockstar.

Robert was working the front desk and was helpful! Also very patient. He helped a difficult customer in front of us and did the best to help her. Robert was great!

Nice patient guy in clean office, easy to work with. Im glad the place was open on a critical Sunday. The amount of boxes is what I consider reliable, though Ive seen better for box deals all across the board of categories.

This place is clean, closes at 6 pm, so reasonably good closing times, its safer than other places, great staff, mostly pamela, and this place has parking, pretty great.

Hands down the best smaller storage in San Francisco! Based upon 20+ years of personal storage and business storage (my staging and real estate business needs/clients), this has been my most positive experience - the space is extremely clean, its easy to park/unload, no unhoused people lingering, great/helpful staff - Neicey, Pam and Robert are all a delight to work with. There is a regular elevator that is easy to use and a large freight elevator that is deal for larger items/loads. There are carts to load up the storage, ramps all over to make it easy and no code to enter every single time you use the elevator. The location is extremely convenient. I could not be happier with my choice to move here. I have 4 units. I feel safe going to storage again, thank you!

Its a good experience when you know the person under the mask is smiling. Pamela was upbeat, helpful and friendly. While in a new strange place (never been to a storage) she made me feel comfortable and welcome.

This place is super solid. Super attentive and helpful staff, clean facilities, good security protocols, zero complaints. I never intended to keep my storage locker forever, but moving out felt like moving out of a friends apartment, hahaha. I interacted with Pamela the most and she is a pro through and through. On my check out day, I interacted with Buddy and he too was professional and accommodating. If I need storage again, this is the first place I will look!

Everything was great, I really could not have been more happy with this storage unit. The unit was easy to access, its very well managed, and they customer service is easy to get in touch.

Esther, Niecy and Robert were all superb! Lots of demand right now for storage units but they helped me find the one that was just right for me (which took a lot of extra coordination, phone calls etc regarding move outs). Very friendly. Facility is clean and well managed.

Esther was incredibly helpful and called me in advance to make sure everything was right with my reservation. I had accidentally booked a smaller unit so she assisted in looking at other locations for the size I wanted, called those locations, and even called me back the next day to help put the order through. She was a huge help throughout the process.

This was the best storage facility I’ve been to. It was very secure, easy, big elevator to get to the unit for loading and unloading. Staff we super friendly and helpful!

Esther was extremely helpful with technological errors i was going thru while moving in today! couldnt have done it without them.

I had a week between apartment leases and needed a storage unit to hold my belongings during that time. The online process to reserve a unit was super easy and the store was very prompt to follow up on my reservation details. I met Pam in person that afternoon and she was terrific at providing me with all the information I needed. The facility itself was very clean and spacious. Rating four stars because I wish their gate access hours were open later in the evening!Thanks Pam & team for always welcoming me with a smile on their face and making this process as smooth as possible!

I had such a great and easy experience getting my storage unit. I had no idea there would be so many steps! But Bill, the man the kindest man this world doesn’t deserve, helped me through the whole process. Thank you Bill! You are an all star and the facility feels safe and is super clean!

Used them for 6 months, was very easy and affordable ($150/month total for a 5x5)

Several of the staff are friendly and you can often see them going around fixing things and cleaning up. Security is seems to be good and the facilities are mostly well kept. Thats the good part. Half of the parking spots all always taken ( 3 of 6 ) by old minivans that may or may not be connected to the facility but either way parking can often be difficult. There are no drinking water, garbage or recycling facilities here. My rent went up over 30% just months after I signed up, and I gather from other tenets that the rent gouge is going to continue. I gather they know once you move in youre not excited to move somewhere else and they stick it to you taking every advantage they can. The other negative for this space is the high humidity. Ive measured and its often over 70% in the winter through spring. Puddles are sometimes visible coming from windows and even under some storage locker doors. So put things in bags.

This Storage is very secure and has good stuff. Pamela left her message in my voice one day that she noticed that I didnt lock my unit properly. It was so kindness and great service. When I came back down the office she was very nice and show me how to lock it. Fortunately all my stuff were safe. Very clean and friendly staff. I most recommend this storage!

If you think storage units are all pretty much the same, think again: This ones a standout. The staffs kind, thoughtful, attentive to every detail, and always seem happy to see their customers (which, by itself, is a marvel). The place is super-clean and smells fresh. As a result, its never a chore to swing by and drop something off or take something out--I actually look forward to those visits! In an industry defined by price, Public Storage on Geary proves you can add value in so many more important ways-- delivering memorable, smile-worthy experiences; paying attention to all-important safety, security, cleanliness and logistics; hiring people who show they care about their customers and their property; and treating people with respect. There are 5-star restaurants that could learn a thing or two about genuinely great customer service from My Public Storage (thats how I think of it). Love, love them!

Ya know... its a storage facility conveniently located in the city. Theyve got big storage,medium storage, or tiny storage... Just storage, no bellhops or special mints in the unit!! At any rate, when I moved back up to the bay after a few years down south, I called Public Storage. The first month was $1 people! I mean, sure my stuff was stashed here for 9 months, but it was safe, easy to get to, and the staff are easy to work with. Personally, I dealt with Bill and Pam, the manager. Even when I was late paying them they left a quick concise message that kept me on track. I totally appreciated the fact that they had dollies and hand trucks for use at no charge. Sure, its not the cheapest storage in the Bay but thats not their fault, its yours for not shopping around. Consider the convenience and calm down. Ive even run into friends in the parking lot who were also renting a unit there. Sometimes you just need a place to dump your stuff for a while that you dont want to look at or deal with, this is your place.

Went to 2 other places before coming here to find a box that would ship a large item because I tossed the original box it came in. I should have started here first because Pamela showed me how to use a large box and reshape it to fit my item perfectly. With a little bubble to cushion around it and tape to seal the box, it worked great.

I walked into the Public Storage on Geary and Masonic and wasnt sure if Id be able to get anything the same day. Philip showed me around and 10 minutes later, I had a locker. It was a fantastic experience. He even helped with a few recommendations on who could move my couch and other items into storage. I had everything taken care of (including my stuff moved!) that morning and I couldnt be happier. I definitely recommend this location. Thanks Philip!

After having something else stolen from the basement in our apartment building, I decided to rent a unit at Public Storage. I was able to schedule an appointment on Sunday and meet with Pamela at the Public Storage on Geary and Masonic in San Francisco and take a look at the size unit I a was considering. Pamela was really helpful and pleasant and made the experience a little less painful as I wasnt really wanting to spend extra money for a storage unit. Its clean, easy to access and most importantly secure.

Staff is friendly and parking is free but the rents can run over $400 a month to store furniture. Unless you need it for only a short period you may consider donating your extra things for the tax write-off as the rental can cost thousands of dollars over time. Just my own opinion. Good for temporary storage.
