While this was a smaller scale move, I was challenged because I arranged from the East coast. The move set-up was very easy. The moving crew was on-time, very efficient & helpful and easy to work with. There were no hidden costs.

Maks and Aibek were amazing!!!! I could not recommend them more highly. They were polite and very professional. I had a lot of really difficult to move large pieces of furniture through narrow stairs and they moved everything without any damage. They were extremely fast but also very careful. I would definitely book them for any future moving tasks. Thank you so much for making moving as minimally stressful as possible.

Absolute train wreck of an operation. First they tried to leave stuff that wouldnt fit into their truck behind and tried to bill me for another truck! Very disrespectful. Also they way they packed boxes was also ridiculous. They half packed most of the boxes. They DIDNT even bother to wrap up picture frames or other glass items. Most of which didnt survive the move and arrived shattered. I submitted my claim for a broken tv about a month and a half ago. They still have not had anyone reach out to me. Save you money and go with someone else. Their website says they focus on customer satisfaction but they could care less. Their customer service was a truly an awful experience to an already stressful move. Its too bad I cant rate them lower.

WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. This moving company is waste of your money. To start, they showed up late and they did not come prepared with a big enough truck even though I advised them that we would most likely need a 18-wheeler or comparable amount of space, delaying our move for an additional 2 hours. This alone caused a number of issues, including that the drive, that should have taken 2 and a 1/2 hours took 4, because by the time the additional trucks showed up, it was in the middle of the evening commute coming from the south bay area to El Dorado County, the trucks did not arrive at our new home until almost 9:00 in the evening.Then comes the unpacking of the trucks, where our items and boxes we continually slammed, dropped and damaged. In total the items dropped broke or damaged were, a sound bar, Christmas dishes (Over 20 pieces), a rack that holds table and chairs, our kitchen table, two dressers, one bed, one TV and our washer and dryer have scratches all over them.I understand that in moving things happen, but that is the same reason we hired what were supposed to be professionals. The company has not responded to us about the damage and has ignored emails that were sent.In addition to what we can prove, we are 90 % sure that they had been drinking during their travel time and half of thier team showed up to the second half of the move stumbling, slurring and reeking off alcohol, unable to prove anything we said nothing but after the move found bottles of beer scattered around the exterior of our property.Overall, one of the worst experiences ever. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I went with this company as they had some really great reviews and the price seemed very fair. Upon moving in there was damage that was sustained to several doorways and hallways which I can understand naturally happens. I called to speak with someone and I was directed to email in with photos and a description of what happened.This was now 2 months ago and I have not had any response to the 3 emails and 4 voicemails I have left. They clearly do not care about the damage that they caused nor do they feel like they have to engage with me after I paid in full for the move. Be careful doing business with them.

We used California Movers twice in the last 6 months. Both times, they communicated well, worked efficiently and carefully, and successfully delivered all of our furniture flawlessly.Id recommend Maks and Grant- they work hard and care greatly for your personal belongings.California Movers is priced fairly and worth every penny.

We found moving place at the last minute after our previous movers canceled on us one week prior to a long distance move. Upon signing the contract with Moving Place, they tried to change the date of our pick up the next day. After refusing to change our plans because we had a written contract stating the pick up date, they eventually (and begrudgingly) agreed. On the morning of our pickup we were told our window for the truck to arrive was 4 hours (which made it impossible to schedule movers to help load the truck). 4 hours after our window closed we were finally able to get someone on the phone who informed us that a truck could not make it there that day and would have to arrive the following morning. When the truck showed up for delivery on the other end, it was empty as they had sent the driver out for a pickup instead of delivery by mistake. We were also informed of additional costs that were charged to us because of the way they allocate space (which we strongly disagree with as this was never clear). Finally after a delay of several hours, our truck arrived and we could unload. They only reason this is not 1 star is because nothing was broken in our move. We would not recommend Moving Place to anyone unless you are very desperate, as they do seem to accommodate last minute moves.

I rarely leave reviews for anything, but this moving experience was so awful that I had to share. I spoke with Nick on the phone and got an initial quote. He asked what type of house I live in (three bedroom), if I had any oversized appliances (a garage freezer), or anything else of unusual size (some potted trees, all under 6 tall). He assured me that 4 guys could pack and move our entire house in 9-11 hours at $250/hour cash or $270/hour card. I talked with my husband, and we were both skeptical that they could pack and move our house in that time, so I called again a week before the move and the night before the move to check if we need to do anything in preparation, like take TVs off the wall, or pack our clothes or anything. I was assured again that 4 guys can pack and move a 3-bedroom house in 9-11 hours.Well, come moving day, the lead guy gets out of the truck and looks around my house and says that actually, no, they cant pack and move my house. I have two options: either pay for an additional 2 guys and a truck (additional $120/hour) and have the move completed today, or have them do a full day of packing today and a full day of moving two days later. This is extortion. They know that its too late for me to book another moving company. They know that I have to move today. So they can basically tell me how much they want me to pay and I have no choice but to pay it. So we went with the 6 guys and 2 trucks.My husband and I spoke with the office, and the lady insisted that although they gave us a price quote and assured us that it was accurate, it is somehow our responsibility to take on the extra cost incurred by their mistake. I requested a call back from Nick, and never received one.And heres the thing, it did take 6 guys and 2 trucks about 9 hours to pack and move our house. And we were watching, they were working quickly. So its not that they were really dawdling, its that Nick (the guy who gave me the quote) lied to me. It is his job to know how much time it takes to pack and move houses of various sizes. We asked the moving guy, and he said that 4 guys can pack and move a 3-bedroom apartment with a small kitchen and no outdoor furniture in 9-11 hours. So thats where the quote came from. (Again, something that Nick should know, if it is his job to provide a quote.)Add to that, the boxes were all put in the wrong rooms (boxes marked office ended up in the garage, etc.), some of the boxes were a complete mess, and a few of our things got broken, I will absolutely never be using this company again, and you shouldnt either!

Our pick up window was 12pm to 2pm and they still havent showed up. An hour after 2pm and no call to advise us of the delay. Were just expected to wait and hope for the best. Who knows if they will ever show up. Do not use this company. Your money will not be well spent. We should have just done the moving ourselves.

Online advertisement are far from reality, the website said they have all the necessary items you need for moving but they didnt.. my movers didnt have boxes, they were late, taped my furniture than using a clear wrap to secure it since they didnt have materials aside from packaging tape.. the 15 to 20 minutes drive from my pick up to dropped off location took them 50 minutes.. i left 20 minutes after they left the pick up place but I came ahead of them. Dont be fool. Super disappointed.. alot of my furniture has a tape marks since it was white paint and you can see that they just taped it like they didnt care plus they asked you to tip them like you are obligated to do so. I was Sooo blinded by the reviews..

Great moving experience: the scheduling team was responsive and worked with me when I needed to reschedule based on my apartment’s loading dock availability; the two person moving team really took care to disassemble the large furniture pieces in a way it was easy to reassemble, wrap everything well, move everything carefully, stow everything neatly in our garage as we requested, and communicated every step of the way. I would use them again and recommend them to others!

This is the worst moving company I have ever worked with in my life. I moved to California from New York City, sure there were bumps, but everything was handled professionally and cordially.California Movers destroyed $75,000 worth of our families personal belongings. They are not responsive to our insurance claims. Its painful, and quite frankly a nightmare. I have never posted a review like this.

My roommate and I had a great experience with California Movers. Our three-man team- Pasha, Grant, and Aibek, were polite, professional, and incredibly efficient. They moved quickly while taking careful care with our furniture and things. Our oversized furniture and several flights of stairs didn’t phase them one bit. The price was as quoted, they arrived on time and finished in the expected window of time. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing an in-state move and we would use again in the future.

3 guys came and packed up my 2 bedroom apartment in just over 2 hours. When I started unpacking, I realized why they were so fast. Stuff was thrown into boxes without being properly wrapped. I found crystals on the bottom of one box that were chipped, left completely unprotected with heavier stuff on top. Another box had a used toilet plunger unwrapped on top of bandates and medicine. The guy who packed my kitchen did a nice job, everything was wrapped and well packed, but the rest was completely hit or miss. Im not done unpacking and I might find more unpleasant surprises.. It doesnt feel good to have my things treated so carelessly and without respect.

Below is the part of the email I wrote to the business 3 times and I’m hoping Google will get involved as I have not gotten any luck.I used your service on 8/2/21. This is a complaint about the unprofessional service in regards to the lack of knowledge, strength, efficiency, and planning. I felt that the the price for the amount of time billed was not justified and I’m looking for compensation.1. Piano moving servicesWhen I inquired and booked the service, I made it very clear that I needed to have a baby grand piano packed and loaded into the moving truck along with boxes and furniture. I was assured that is a service you guys can do and you even have a photo moving a baby grand piano displayed on google. Due to that assurance, I booked your service with purchase of additional insurance.When the movers arrived, not only did they not have knowledge on how to package and move a piano, and ignored my instructions numerous times. I have moved many times with my piano using piano moving service, the piano is to be loaded onto a sled which I provided. One of the 3 men spent over 45 minutes wrapping the piano, and then decided to unwrap it and take an unnecessary step of removing the hood of the piano, in addition to not putting all the screws and accessories they removed in any organizational manner. They also did not know how to remove the piano legs until my husband and I provided instructional videos on YouTube. The 3-men crew also were not strong enough to tilt the piano onto its side, ended up needing the help of my husband. After 2.5 hours, the piano was finally loaded onto the truck, and at this point, I had already told the movers the piano must be strapped onto the sled and it was still not done properly. Also another note, the professional piano movers I hired to unload told me that the piano was loaded onto the wrong side, and some screws were missing.Ultimately, the movers did not have the knowledge of moving a piano, no planning and no researching prior to the move, and also did not have the strength either.2. InefficiencyAs the movers stepped into the house, we made it very clear what the priorities were. One of the 3 men were extremely inefficient and kept trying to wrap furniture that was already wrapped at an unacceptably slow speed. I communicated with him regarding what the priorities were, which is getting the heavy items out of the house onto the truck. I asked him to stop wrapping furniture several times and he continued to do so. I felt that this was a move to bill for longer hours. He also admitted that he was going extra slow because of the insurance I added. If that is the rationale, if insurance was not purchased, would you company have just allowed items to be damaged? This was an unacceptable answer.3. Lack of planningI mentioned that I did not need packing services when I booked your service. However, one of the men did not do much moving besides wrapping my already-wrapped furniture. The crew also seemed to have no structure around the timing of what to load onto the truck. 3 hours into the service, only less than 20% of the truck was loaded with everything scattered on my driveway. With the information provided on the phone, there should have been planning around strength and skills, but I saw none of that. I also would like to mention again, with the information a baby grand piano was to be made, it was unacceptable that the movers needed the help of my husband to move the piano onto its side due to lack of strength.I felt that in addition to the bad service, that the movers were trying to accrue additional hours by providing inadequate service at a very slow speed. This did not feel like honest service and I am truly disappointed as you a Google guaranteed service provided.

They arrived at the beginning of the planned window and were very efficient and careful with handling our stuff. The move went very smoothly despite the complications of moving into a high-rise in a busy area. Would definitely recommend.

We used california movers a few months ago and as soon as we started unpacking we noticed our TV was broken during the move and we had several missing items. None of the movers mentioned this to us and pressured and rushed us into signing a form that stated nothing was broken and left as quickly as possible. We told them about what happened and we were instructed to send invoices and receipts to have them reimbursed...but nothing ever happened. We contacted California Movers several times and we were told every time that we would hear back, but we never did. We have been completely ignored and none of our items were ever found and our tv remains cracked and unusable. This is completely unprofessional to disregard and ignore paying customers. They have a 100% satisfaction guaranteed and were simply not satisfied at all and no money was ever reimbursed as we were initially told. Its really not that hard to reply to your customers and help when these kinds of problems come up.

Andrew did a fantastic job with our move. Went above and beyond in helping us assemble our furniture and helping place everything in the desired rooms. He even made sure to say hello to our dog. Will be letting our friends of the great service and recommending!!!

We had a lot of furniture in our 1BR and we got it all moved in one go in less than 3 hours!^^^Edit: the above review was when we were pressed to write a favorable review on the spot. Needed to come back and add some additional info. 1) they were not wearing masks except the first 15 min. 2) the movers were 30 min late (and they had a 2 hr window, didn’t update me until after the window was done). We got no discount for the late show. 3) our movers left our first address before we were done loading the truck, without notification that they were leaving. We walked outside carrying additional furniture and they were gone. We had to leave things at our first apt and come back the next day to pick them up. What’s the point of movers in that case?? 4) the movers dropped everything in the living room, didn’t pay attention to the labels on boxes. 5) movers did not wrap any furniture in padded cloth that we’ve seen before. Plus tehy left before 3 hr minimum was done. All in all, this wasn’t the cheapest service and we really don’t think we got our $ worth. Our previous movers were $100/3 hrs and were much safer with our furniture.
