Denise was wonderful and helped us find exactly what we were looking for. We had the chance to do a free tasting with Rory and learned a lot in the 15-20 minutes we spent talking to him. Will definitely be coming back for future whisky purchases!

A gem of a Scotch shop. The workers are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They have a lot of rare items that you cant find in regular liquor stores. I make sure that this is a stop every time I am in the bay area to check out what gems they have. They are also willing to look out for certain items for you in case you want something special. I would highly recommend a visit if you enjoy Scotch.

Authentic Scottish place with a great selection of wide range of scotch. They have people (wearing traditional Scottish dress) who can guide you through the scotch buying experience. They also recommend alternates to expensive famous brands that are equally good and great value for money.

Good whiskey store and had what I wanted. The Japanese section is very slim but they did just add a bourbon selection as well. By far the best is in the scotch, and they have a lot of trinkets which cater to the random walk ins. Overall though the prices seemed fair.

Well the title Whiskey shop is a bit veg when you enter the place. Its more of a Scottish good place that sells whiskey, which it does have a good selection of whiskeys. The only problem I got is that they are a bit pricey on what they are selling. But its what you except when you are in a hot spot in SF, things are not going to be cheap. But all in all its a interesting place to go to if you want something Scottish whether its whiskey, wool clothes, Clans emblem,

My top whiskey shop in San Francisco. Truly fantastic selection of scotches, Irish, and other country whiskeys including Japan, generally very well priced. Many smaller distilleries and hard to find bottles. Also have an array of Scottish clothing, including clan specific stuff. The staff are very nice and knowledgeable. One can sign up for dinners, and tastings, as well as some free tasting events.

Best place to buy whisky, especially Scotch. Mark is very knowledgeable and can help you find the perfect whisky. Had all the standards plus a ton of interesting and unusual whiskys.

Two stores in one. Up front, its a Scottish import shop, with kilts, hats, jerseys and the like. At the back, fine spirits from the UK, scotch whisky mostly, but gin too. The best part, though, is downstairs in the tasting room, where they put on monthly tastings, complete with food, information and good cheer - definitely recommended.

The Whisky Shop is actually the back of WM Glenn and Sons. It is a small alcove in the back of their store. It has a decent selection of whisky from a variety of locations. The staff is pretty knowledgeable and has treated me to some informative information on the different whisky, as well as some good stories about Scotland. Although I dont drink a lot of whisky, Im definitely a fan of this place.

Dont go for one of their whisky tasting pairings if it is planned by Victoria. Bad customer service on her part. Paul, Mark and team have a great selection of whisky...just dont be duped into one of the tastings.

The staff are so incredibly helpful, patient, and knowledgeable, you will enjoy your visit even if you dont end up buying anything. The also have regular whiskey tastings, free and no stress, if youre interested in whiskey.

Careful when you take your bottle to the counter, though; you pay a lot more than the price label indicates, as tax is slapped on top at the last minute. Ruined an otherwise pleasant shopping experience; might be an idea for the store to signal this more clearly in advance, as it came as an unexpected and unpleasant surprise to me.

The nicest and best whiskey store I have ever been to in my life. Mark walked me through their extensive selection. If youre looking for something very high end and possibly exotic you should check this place out. The layout is interesting as when you first walk in it seems like you may be in the wrong place. Just keep walking back and youll find the best high end selection of liquors ive ever seen.As an example Ive been looking for yamazaki 18year, with no luck the last few years. Well they have it. High price included ($535) for anyone with more money than I had at the time...Regardless it was an impressive store, very well stocked and Mark will talk to you about their extensive selections. Ill be back!

Saw that their prices were pretty good and that they had some relatively obscure bottles (at least in the US). Ordered a few bottles from them. They contacted me the following day saying that one of the items I ordered wasnt in stock and asked if it was okay with me if they shipped the rest of the order and refunded me for that item. I said OK and received the order a few days later. Everything arrived intact and the quality of the packing was impressive, the bottles were very well-protected. However I was not refunded for the out-of-stock item. I contacted them about this issue and to their credit they got back to me immediately and then refunded the money for that item. So overall it was a fairly good experience. If the refund went through without my intervention it would have been 5 stars for sure.

I order three bottles of whiskey from the Whiskey Shop, 2 bottles of Kilkerren 5, bourbon cask, and 1 bottle of Kilkerren 7, bourbon cask. Later that day, I received an apologetic call letting me know that two of the bottles (Kilkerren 5) were actually out of stock. Whiskey Shop suggested that I place a new order for the Kilkerren 7, which they assured me was in stock. I placed a second order for two bottles of Kilkerren 7, bourbon cask, and 2 of Kilkerren 7, sherry cask.My order was cancelled again.When I called to inquire about why my new order was cancelled, the Whiskey Shop employee I encountered was quite rude and behaved as if I didnt understand the nature of the transaction. She told me I was mistaken about the stock. I explained the situation, citing the first order, the call I received, and the subsequent second order. She finally agreed that Whiskey Shop had made a mistake in canceling my second order.Though the stock at Whiskey shop seems quite good, Im afraid the customer service just doesnt cut it. Highly disappointing.
