Love, love, love Flora Grubb! If you’re looking for the widest selection of plants, beautiful pots, and even patio furniture — you’ve come to the right place. A little pricey… sure. But the quality of the plants is top notch and the staff are incredibly helpful and nice. I’ve been coming here for close to 10 years already and have purchased majority of my houseplants and basically all of my backyard plants from Flora. Pre-pandemic they have a little cafe w coffee and baked goods from Ritual.
A must visit if you are looking for cool plants. You wont leave without buying something. Friendly staff. The have a coffee shop too! They are happy to order plants for you too.
This place is amazing. Greats selection of all kinds of plants and they also have a good variety of pots and planters. Staff is friendly and helpful too. I got all my flowers, herbs and tree plants from here, and will keep going in future too!
I visited Flora Grubb recently because I had a generous gift card. The nursery has been on my wish list for a long time and I was not disappointed. I live in Davis and volunteer in the Arboretum. Although the nursery may seem overwhelming at first, it is very well laid out. The biggest plus is the staff. Clarke and Daniela were so helpful and knowledgeable that it was truly a special day. Thank you again!
I absolutely loved visiting this beautiful place with so many varieties of gorgeous Plans! The pots here are quite expensive, but we bought some anyway for the convenience factor. Also, they have great customer service as long as you approach someone who works there with questions, they are more than willing to help you out. And they have such a wide righty of plans. Also, they have a high-end coffee shop where you can read books, drink coffee, and chat with friends.
Beautiful open air space that is perfect for these covid times. It seems like it’s a paradise but for mostly outdoor plants which is great but just a heads up if you’re looking to expand your indoor garden. Lower prices on a lot of the same planters I’ve seen at other shops so that’s a plus. Their planter room is to die for. The indoor plant selection was pretty small and I saw a few that were not doing so well, especially their marantas looked like they were struggling. Still worth checking out as I imagine their selection rotates. Still found 2 planters and a succulent to purchase. Definitely a beautiful place to take a stroll and enjoy the foliage!
OH. MY. GOD. GORGEOUS GORGEOUS NURSERY! I loved strolling leisurely through the rambling pathways that naturally weave and wind their way through the lot. The pots are intermixed with various plants and then there’s a coffee shop in the center. The staff were very attentive but let us wander without any hard sells or sales pitches. My one complaint is their pricing does seem to be above the market average in the area but they do have some amazing and unique finds. A lot of their plants are grown at their own farm too!
Breath of fresh air...LITERALLY! The moment I walked in this place I felt peace. Its a beautiful nursery with both indoor and outdoor plants. They carry a wide variety of unique plants and an array of succulents including mini ones! Theres a coffee shop inside so you can enjoy a cup of joe and relax in the garden. They also have a planting station so you can create and design your own arrangements. I loved the containers and pots they have to chose from. My favorite is the felt pouches that you attach to a sheet of ply wood. I love the look of layering plants.Bright metal outdoor furniture hangs from the ceiling in an array of colors. I wanted to purchase one in every color! I can go on and on about this place but look at my pictures. They tell the story!
Large, wide selection of plants. I went on a saturday - quite busy. The layout is pretty labyrinthine and not everyone was being very conscious about blocking the walkways. No big deal, but mildly annoying.I came looking for an ordinary stake for a monstera and a plain terracotta pot as a temporary home for my anthurium plant before its large enough for a more decorative pot I have in mind. Wasnt able to find either, though there are tons of more decorative pots and planters. Definitely targeting a higher-end demographic with pricing. I left empty handed, but might come back when Im looking for a nicer looking pot
I love to stroll here once in a while. A beautiful place with magnificent plants! All the time I have questions, the consultant answers in detail and kindly, its so interesting to listen to. From time to time I bought a new plant here for my home collection. Besides, it is always a pleasure to read a book here.
Beautiful garden center + Awesome Ritual coffee = fantastic must-visit neighborhood spot!Warning: the price tag here definitely is not the most affordable one in the city but they have so many cool and unique items that are worth the price!Tips:1)Must try the peanut butter cookie in the cafe!2)The mini clay pots, located in the middle pots display area are so adorable and CHEAP!
A magical oasis in the middle of a very industrial/commercial neighborhood. Plant selections are in abundance, with all in great health and of varying maturity. Prepare to pay a premium for the quality you receive, though you can always score some great deals if you look carefully and visit often. Little coffee shop inside to get something to drink while you browse (though current covid mask mandates have temporarily changed that). When the world is right again I plan on getting a nice coffee and sitting on one of those heated benches in the garden and just take it all in!
I love this place!!! So many beautiful plants and people who are so helpful and passionate. I came here for the first time today and spent way more time here than I expected, spending most of it looking at gasteria and haworthia. Generally, its 3.99 for 2 and 6.99 for 4. Ask for Marissa if you have questions on cactus and succulents. Will definitely be back for more plants!
Be ready to be inspired when you step into this urban oasis in Bayview. The gardens here are gorgeous and it feels like youve been transported to a new world.Florals Grubb offers tons of plants, pots, planting stations, succulents, garden furniture and more. They also have a coffee shop onsite so its great for a post brunch mosey.Be ready to pay too dollar though, this place aint cheap.
Couldnt get an answer by email despite asking several times
Lots of option. The staffs are very kind & knowledgeable.
It’s like an oasis in the middle of endless concrete jungle. You not only here to look for plants for your apartment but also can come to hangout and have coffee. Knowledgeable and very helpful staffs.Prices are a bit higher than other places. However, they are healthy and good quality. Highly recommended.
A lovely garden supply. Gorgeous indoor/outdoor space, dog friendly, and has pretty much everything you need, with great style.
Expansive selection for both indoor and outdoor plants. Lots of pots to choose from. Very helpful staff.
I came here looking to get some plants for my apartment. This place is very nice, with a lot of variety and very helpful staff. Only downside is that its a little expensive relative to similar stores. A small plant in a plastic pot will cost you $15-20, generally. The most basic coffee is $4 (not unreasonable for a coffee lover, but I wouldnt mind a simple cup of drip coffee in a place like this). As another reviewer mentioned, find the heated bench in the garden. I could have spent all day sitting on that thing.
Great plants with caring Staff. Dog friendly too!
I love this place. I always leave happy. Yeah, sure, some things are pricey ($155 desktop-sized pink plant stands, anyone?) but the nice part is that their stuff always seems healthy, which is more than I can say for their big box counterparts (I’m looking at you, Home Depot and Lowes). Great place if you’re looking to overhaul your yard, or even just your workspace or bedroom or whatever random room in the house with greenery, and looking to develop your plant parent skills.
Does anyone know if the Ritual Cafe is open now? Or if they allow you to sit on those wonderful heated benches? I haven’t been here since shelter in place and think it might be a nice way to have an outdoor distanced meetup with my friend.
Hard to find location Without rageous prices I hate
Visited this place to find plants that the big box stores wouldnt have. Flora Grubb Gardens did not let us down. Lots of various plants, pots, containers, etc. The staff is helpful, friendly and willing to help you out. We ended up buying lots of plants which continue to bring joy to us.
Healthy plants, great atmosphere, a little pricey (like anthropology prices) but plenty of parking. There is also a nice food truck area out across the street with great pizza!
Great selection of plants
Wonderful nursery. Though pricey, Id still recommend to any plant lover.
Excellent selection of houseplants, cacti, shrubs, and pottery.
Great staff that is very nice and very knowledgeable. Fantastic selection of plants, but they come in and out really quickly, so check often!! Only complaint is that prices can be kind of high.
CHECK the plant thoroughly before buying!!! We were sold a spider mite infested plant & they’ve been hell to get rid of. Various pest sprays & copious amounts of water spray - they come back with vengeance. They’re so minuscule we only noticed once we got home. FG offered bug killer and/or money off something else? That’s like buying car finding out it’s on its last legs then the retailer offering discount for another one? After spending over $200 I asked for a partial refund - since then I’ve sent 2 emails & no reply 😢 we ‘disinfected’ the plant again and I’m losing hope on saving it.
My rating is not so much of the store as it is of the surrounding area. The store is lovely with a great selection but a little over priced. The surrounding area is a bit questionable as I went in to shop with a perfect car and came out to a flat tire with no visible nail and someone offering to put air in it w/out even seeing the tire while staff didn’t seem to care. Probably won’t be going back bc of the area it’s in. Would recommend parking on the side closest to the shop if traveling there.
Finally made it here... it’s a tucked away gem of a garden center... really smart and warm humans working here, too.
Love it here. Can be pricey, but youre paying for quality healthy plants.
Very expensive for petennial flowers. No annuals. Not many herbs and vegetables.
Such a quaint garden with delicious coffee
Beautiful pots, super healthy plants and so much inspiration.
Being there feels like the owners personally care about the experience of gardening and beautiful landscapes.
Flora Grub has the most interesting selection of plants, both for landscaping and indoors, in the city. They also get rare plants in from time to time, but these seem to fly out the door, so youll need a bit of luck to snag them. Its always fun to stop in, get a coffee and browse the beautiful grounds, which are nicely landscaped and have lots of seating.
My experience here was SUPER!!!! Loved the atmosphere, friendly staffs and most of all various type of plants and planters! I bought a cart-full last Sunday and so happy with it. Hands down my favorite nursery in SF!
Eclectic selection of plants and extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff
Extraordinary selection of plants here. Everything is so lush and healthy, you cant wait to bring something home. Every staff member Ive talked to has been so kind, helpful, and knowledgable. There is also a vast selection of pots to choose from. I cant recommend this place enough for all of your plant needs.
Plant heaven! i love this place -- succulents, air plants, you name it. Adorable garden shop with a DIY planting station. You pick your plant & pot and all the planting supplies such as dirt, rocks etc are provided for you to unleash your creative side! Note that there is a sitting fee based on the size of your plant. There is a Ritual coffee stand inside and a few tables scattered around the garden, allowing you to slowly sip and enjoy your time here. Beautiful ceramic pottery and all sorts of unique garden decor available for purchase. I wish I could spend all my weekends here!
Was excited to surprise a colleague with a gift card for Flora Grubb Gardens, but disappointed when no one could help her when she went to pick it up. She spoke with a man who said he knew nothing about it, despite her confirmation email. When we called, the man we spoke with couldnt help either. Luckily, Rachel found the gift certificate, but our friend had to leave the shop before anyone there could figure out what was going on. Im sure the final product will be lovely, but its a bummer the process wasnt a little smoother.
Perhaps the greatest space in the city. Such amazing light, amazing plants, amazing workers, amazing coffee, amazing heated outdoor seats.
Perfect spot for a date! You can pick out a plant, pottery, and use their soil/rock stations to plant it on site. The staff is beyond helpful and the place is gorgeous. They even have a coffee shop and multiple places to sit and relax. The pottery selection for indoors and outdoors is the best I have found near San Francisco.
One of the very best nurseries you will ever visit
Great great place for succulents! They offer tons of varieties and selection. Plus the service is great. They will help you with whatever questions you have. Theres also a ritual coffee shop on site, where you can grab a cup of coffee and enjoy it in the gardens.
Flora Grubb is amazing. Being a volunteer horticulturalist in Chicago for years, I love not only the living plant stock here but also the garden environment overall. What a nice place to spend an hour during an afternoon.
They have a huge selection of indoor plants and helpful staff. A idle pricey but the quality is great. The pottery is also really pretty and unique.
If you are a succulent lover this place is a must. Great place for some photography inspiration as well. Its a one stop shop for the prettiest vases and plants. A great place to buy some green for your apartment.
Incredible garden, plants of all kinds, beautiful and unique containers. Very helpful customer service and delicious coffee. Every time I visit, about once a quarter I spend about 3 hours admiring all the plants, containers, the grouping of plants they put together and sitting in the spaces!
So much variety! Really a wonderful place to find some additions for your home. Very knowledgeable and helpful people working there. Beautiful plants and pottery!
Love the variety of indoor and outdoor plants here, and the potting stations where you can prep your plants to bring home! With a Ritual Coffee bar on-site, this is a wonderful spot to spend an afternoon.
Great variety of drought tolerant plants and outdoor furniture. A fresh take on nursery. It was a sensory experience.
Beautiful, but expensive hipster nursery. Years ago, I wanted a plant that I couldnt find at the garden centers of Lowes, Home Depot or other nurseries that I tried. Id heard that Flora Grubb has a lot of hard-to-find plants, so I came here. When I asked about the plant that I wanted, I was told in a rather snobbish way that We dont carry those plants. Theyre too common. Yeah, so common that I couldnt find them anywhere. Hrumph! That put a bad taste in my mouth for this place. That aside, people do seem to enjoy hanging out here and it is a very nice place to wander about if youre into plants. Floras name seems to be destiny. :)
A beautiful garden center in San Francisco. Interesting and pretty looking plants and outdoor accessories. Great place to get your next house plant, outdoor throw or unique gift for a friend.
On the expensive side but has a great selection of outdoor and and smaller selection of indoor plants.
This place is so beautiful! It feels like a secret garden that you just want to spend an afternoon wondering around in. The only reason it doesnt get five stars is because it is so expensive, I feel like I cant afford anything here. If you are looking for a beautiful arrangement of succulents, this is the place to go.
Exquisite, quiet respite in an unexpected corner of Bayview. A truly beautiful nursery that excites your garden imagination and is equally capable of making all your garden dreams come true. A little pricey, but their quality and service aptly reflect the cost - and all this with little to no pretense. Did I mention coffee?! Ritual Coffee has a sweet little counter nestled amidst the foliage, and its well equipped with delicious (AND STRONG) java served up by delightfully kind and attentive baristas. I cant say enough good things about Flora Grubb!
Flora Grubb is our favorite spur of the moment visit. the garden even just to walk around is amazing and on top of that the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable its always a pleasure. One of our favorite activities is getting an early afternoon capp from the cafe, warming up on the heated seats and picking out a new plant!
I love Flora Grubb. Ive purchased a few indoor plants here and most recently a hanging succulent display. Flora Grubb is gorgeous, relaxing, and a great place to get coffee. Parking is easy and the employees are knowledgable and friendly.
A beautiful plant store with lots of variety and a Ritual coffee shop inside! I love going to Flora Grubb, whether its to buy a ceramic pot, a new plant, get coffee or to look around. Very friendly staff.
Beautiful place with super friendly staff. Great selection of succulents and indoor plants.
Great selection of gorgeous plants and containers. On site potting areas. Lots of inspiring ideas. Coffee bar.
Flora Grubb Gardens is one of those hidden gems of San Francisco. Although it’s not in the best neighborhood, it’s hard to remember here. Every turn brings a new experience. Lucky for us, we happened to stop by on their 10th Anniversary with free ice cream from my favorite ice creamery in San Francisco Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous! And I found the perfect succulent to bring home. Hope I can keep it alive!
Looking for the unusual or the chic for your urban garden or even a plant that you can easily grow indoors? Then you MUST check out this fantastic place. Learn how to create a vertical garden by planting succulents in a hanging frame or Wooly Pocket. Great website too!
An oasis in Bayview. Beautifully merchandised plants, pots, garden furniture, art installations, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Flora Grubb is not cheap, but IMO worth it. There is also a Ritual coffee bar here and tables to sit at...I would go here for a coffee even if I wasnt in the market for a new plant...the atmosphere is that great.
Awesome selection of succulents and a decent selection of other plants, like ornamentals and herbs. Its a little pricey, but the staff is really helpful. They gave my roommate an extra succulent for free because it was his birthday. Theres also a ritual roasters here, which is an added bonus. Great place tucked away in Bayview.
A hidden gem in the neighborhood. Nice garden and plantation setup. There is even a pop-up from Ritual coffee roasters.
Incredible selection (well more than a big box garden center), hip and beautiful setting, friendly and knowledgable staff, reasonable prices. Will be back!
Great place, cool selection not cheap but your paying for the slightly hipster feel
Beautiful spot, worth going out of your way for
Great coffee (Ritual), to go along with wonderful plants and the things for successful gardening. Outstanding customer service
My favorite nursery to relax and enjoy the plants. Simply beautiful.
One of my favorite places in San Francisco. I came here often for a year because I was coordinating a wedding there. Theyve got Ritual Coffee onsite and also offer an inspiring place to buy succulents and other garden plants for your home. They have a number of Weck jars you usually find online and supplies for making your own terrariums at home. As an event space, its stunning and you dont really have to decorate. Prices are higher but youll find things you cant find in abundance elsewhere.
An esquite experience... The various plants and other ecclectic flora creates a serine environment amongst a industrial jungle. Take a few moments with the Dandelion Hot Chocolate on the heated benches on a cool SF day and you will never want to leave!
Magical place. Their assortment of succulents and outdoor furniture is outstanding. Ritual coffee in house? You had me at hello.
