This shop is the definition of pure greed. I would rather go to East bay than buy anything from here. I attached a picture of 1 item - the regular price is $3.99 but just a day before Diwali they increased it to $5.99.Also the taxes are humongous. I have bought groceries from all over East bay and SF and none of them charge taxes as much as they do. I also encourage people to check the bill as its not itemized (it just says food item) and there are high chances of an extra item or 2 if youre not vigilant.

We went there to buy some Indian groceries and spices. We asked the gentleman who was there he helped us. We asked him a couple of more questions and he was very helpful. We ended up buying more than we thought of. We went to the register and we were asked to wait although nobody was there. Anyway all good. So this Old lady at the register was talking to somebody who just showed up. So I become restless after 12 minutes and asked her if she can ring the things so we can pay. So this OLD LADY told us very rudely to pull everything out of the basket and keep on the counter, we did then she said very rudely to keep the basket back to where we picked, we did THEN SHE ASKED US IF WE NEED ANY BAGS, We said yes 1. All this time she was barking orders on us and having conversation with the same couple. Wow. There was 1 item which I buy on regular basis and I noticed the price is pretty high. So I asked her and again she opened her bad mouth and said, THIS IS OUR PRICE YOU BUY IT OR NOT TELL ME. I was pretty upset but did not say anything because of her age. Such a rude person on Register wow. We paid and left the store and am not coming back ever. The 3 friends I was with also felt the same insult and attitude. Anyway I will suggest people to avoid going to the store so they learn the lesson and at least be humble and respectful to the customers. Also if she is an employee she should not be at register at all. Minus 1 stars.

Very very very expensive indian grocery store. Please do not go here, this is very expensive! It is next to extortion because San Francisco does not have another indian grocery store and they are establishing their monopoly by raising the prices to unbelievable extent. MORE THAN WHOLE FOODS LOL! Rather go to another grocery store outside the city.I have already lodged a complaint with Better Business Bureau to check for price gouging.

Good place to get spices. Theyre located near the Popeyes in the Safeway complex. They even had some specialty fresh herbs/leaves I was looking for. The owners could be friendlier. The guy, who I think might be their son, was the nicest. Another man who was restocking items was helpful when I couldnt find some stuff. I spent a lot buying bags and bags of Indian spices. The lady could have been more welcoming. I would have revisited this place by now, but I havent.

This is a great neighborhood store for all your indian cooking ingredients, right from rice, daals, different kinds of flour. The snacks and biscuits aisle hits you with nostalgia with the bhakarvadi and parle-G. There is every brand which you swear by for your perfect cup of tea. At the back of the store, you will find your frozen ready to eat parathas and some indian vegetables too. Only major issue is it is really pricey if you are consuming Indian items and groceries as a staple every day for each item is marked up by a minimum of 20% with as much as 50% to 75% markup on rice, wheat and lentils compared to more locations in East bay or south of San Francisco

This little grocer has a lot of South Asian treats, drinks and food items. The frozen section has ready made items such as samosas and there are aisle shelves with a variety of jarred pickled fruits and vegetables. In the rear of the store is a small produce section with common items such as garlic, onions, tomatoes, as well as hard to find items such as eggplant pluots, bitter melon and fresh curry leaves. The store also has a small selection of sweet pastries.

The tastes of India awaits you at this grocery store and the clientele is mostly Indian families doing their daily shopping and everyone is friendly and welcoming to even a first time buyer like myself. There is a large selection of spices and sauces to enhance any meal with the foods and flavors of that country. From naan bread to samosas there is something for anyone that wants to experience the aromatically delicious cuisine of the second most populated country in this world.

In first place I don’t usually right reviews for grocery shops, but this one deserves a review I thought! I don’t care about stuff they keep but they really have to teach there boy who is around 10 year old manners, while I was standing there to pay the amount, he looked at my 15 month old daughter told the cashier(apparently his mom) and grand father my daughter looks disgusting, and they didn’t even care to apologize to me or correct his behavior I am not angry on him, but it shows there upbringing. Shame on there behavior.Parenting is about teaching respect, and manners. If you people want him to achieve something in life that would be the first step! Else he will sit in grocery shop abusing people!

A decent grocery place with not a lot of collection compared to the South Bay.Some of the items are very expensive and at a bumped up price. Even though it’s the city, I don’t think those prices are justifiable for some of the products. The aisle space is very less and two people browsing products on a single aisle would be a stretch. If gives an option, I would buy the exact same products with a much comfortable shopping experience and a cheaper price from Sunnyvale / Santaclara.

This is a great little Indian grocery store in San Francisco that I like to go to. They have all the spices and food items that you may need to prepare an Indian meal. One of my complaints is that they do not carry multiple brands of a same product and they keep changing brands, so if you are used to one brand, there are chances that you wont find it next time you go there. It is a good thing and bad thing; kind of forces you to try new brands. I am particular about my brands because taste of Indian frozen food varies greatly from one brand to another since they all utilize spices differently.
