This is one of the best ice cream place in SF, because its not just sugar + sugar on top of sugar as with most American desserts. They actually have many ingredient that goes into their flavor and requires a keen sense of taste to appreciate the subtlety. As such, the ice cream was not overly sweet that makes you so full that you dont want to eat anymore. The banana split was so good that we finish the entire thing along with the affogato. The whole place has the look and feel of a 70s/80s diner. Too bad their soda fountain was broken. We would definitely come back again for that.

While visiting San Francisco for the first time, my friend wanted to make sure I didnt leave without trying some of the best ice cream money can buy; which was found at the Ice Cream Bar. There was a bit of a wait to get my order in but I have to say it was well worth the wait. I ended up ordering the THE DUBLIN HONEY ICE CREAM FLOAT which was the best of both worlds for me.... Great beer meeting great ice cream. Its was the best combo Ive ever tasted and definitely lives up to the legend this place has.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and had the brownie sundae and the farm sundae and they were honestly both really big so me and my friend did not finish them both! But the flavors were okay and I was a little disappointed by the taste of the brownie and how hard in texture it was but the creame fraiche flavor was nice and light and the cherry flavor was a bit more overwhelming. The shortbread in my sundae was a bit less tasty and I think in the end it was just a lot of sugar which left me feeling a little queasy. I might try the other flavors but overall standard ice cream. The place is really cute and has got a nice homey feel which I actually really liked and the area is good.

Aloha! The ice cream and sundaes I heard is one of the best in town. They have a retro style ice cream bar which I love. What stole the show is their Marshmallow Hot Chocolate. It’s the best and creamiest. Gotta have to try this when you are in town. Who won’t regret it. Much better than Mimi’s Cafe or IHOP.

This place is just amazing! The ice cream is wonderful and they always have seasonal flavors - sample them all and have them make up a sundae. If youre not in a hurry try the dreamy & delight hot cocoa. My absolute favorite shop treat is the Dublin Honey - especially after a rough day. Its phenomenal.During the colder days, a dry tropical hot toddy to go is perfect for a walk to the park. There truly is something for everyone here.

If youre a fan of Back to the Future and classic-style ice cream shops, then this is the place for you! When you first walk in, youll be hit with a feeling of nostalgia as you take in the ice cream bar and the workers decked out in their uniform. The charm of this place is definitely its selling point, but their ice cream doesnt fall far behind! Their flavors change fairly often, so its a new experience every time you go! I ordered the raspberry/passionfruit sorbet, which had a great balance of sweet and tart (although I will admit when I got near to the end it was starting to get a little too tart for me, maybe I shouldve gotten the junior size). My friend ordered one of their vegan flavors and really enjoyed it! Its all to easy to walk by this shop without noticing it, so if you happen to be walking down or around on Cole Street I would highly recommend stopping by.

Wonderful ice cream shop and classic soda fountain. Ice cream sandwiches, banana splits and so much more. They have classic flavors and seasonal ones. They also serve a few alcoholic beverages and malts or milkshakes with a little extra. Very popular so often crowded just take a number and theyll get to you quickly. If you only want something from the Soda Fountain you can simply head back to it and order there. There are pints available to go with no wait.

This place has a steady flow of customers. You order at the counter which can get confusing. I grabbed a ticket out of the machine but I noticed theyre not always calling numbers. But Im glad I did because once it got crowded they went back to calling numbers. The ice cream here is decent. I think the brownies were not good at all. Kind of dry even after they warmed it up and served with ice cream.

The only way our hot fudge sundae could have been better would have been if we had eaten it there! We asked for a sundae wth milk chocolate ice cream and our server happily obliged. We got a huge sundae (perfect for two!) with silky smooth chocolate ice cream, warm hot chocolate fudge, delicious almond slivers covering the top, and whipped cream and a few berries. I would never ask for all these toppings, but they went perfectly with the sundae and made it into something extraordinary. The restaurant inside is super cool and cute, and the neighborhood (Cole valley) is great as well, I totally would recommend coming here!!

You absolutely cannot pass this up if youre exploring the Haight-Ashbury!! Head inside to discover an authentic 1930s marble soda fountain bar with real old-times soda jerks mixing together milkshakes the old fashioned way! They made almost everything in house from the ice cream (of course), to the tinctures and syrups used in milkshakes, to the brioche bread and pickles!Small food menu that is packed with deliciousness. The most surprising food item? A housemade black bean burger on brioche! We suggested getting a Remedy to drink — those are the grown-up versions of milkshakes 😉

Ordered a brownie sundae (supposed to be a hot brownie with ice cream on top) but unfortunately while I was eating it in a to go dish on the way home I noticed that the brownie was cold and hard, like it had barely been baked and was fairly stale. Alienated. Shop doesnt enforce 1 party at a time rule for covid. After waiting for the employees to call me in i come in and start ordering. However they allow a white woman to walk in and crowd me. Instead of asking her to wait her turn they serve her and let her check out first. Then the party waiting outside the door starts making racist comments about me not waiting my turn and they start to serve them without a word. Awful because during normal times the service is great and the ice cream is amazing, but felt totally alienated in this instance and cant go back.

My first time here. Its hard to go wrong with ice cream and this place did not disappoint. They have a somewhat limited assortment of flavors - thats why I gave it four stars. That being said, what I had was good - Pistachio Praline and Coffee in a waffle cone. They also had a decent selection (3 I think) of vegan ice cream and sorbet flavors. I may have to change my rating if the chocolate turns out to be amazing. If youre in fudges, floats and banana splits, they have those on the menu as well.Definitely worth a try if youre in the neighborhood.

I’ve been here twice and both times left feeling very full and satisfied. It’s a classic, old-time soda fountain theme, and they do a really nice job at executing on that. The first time I came was on a weekday evening and it wasn’t too crowded, but the most recent visit was on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed! Thankfully, they have an efficient take a number system and we only had to wait about 10-15 minutes to get served. They have a solid array of interesting and standard flavors and the portions are a good size for the cost. It was a good experience, though given how full I was when leaving I don’t think I could indulge in this treat more than once every couple of months!
