Tried the new mango cream non dairy ice cream. Organic coconut cream and mango purée. The purée is really strong. It was like a love hate taste-lationship because the first bite was really grainy and pasty but as I ate more, the more I loved it. Rich and creamy, made fresh.

Brookies & cream was really good and the texture of the waffle cone was really good!The cream cheese seasonal (?) flavor was a bit on the sour side and very cheesy.

Amazing flavors! I like the simplicity of the menu. We tried three flavors- chocolate ganache, strawberry and brookies and cream. All of them were just amazing. I loved how strawberry flavor tasted so fresh and ganache was really rich and creamy! Staff was friendly too:) Definitely coming here again.

They’ve got a good system here. I knew what I wanted and a few seconds later I had my scoops. Two scoops for just $7 and looks like it was made in house. This place is a pleasure.

Ice cream was great. Staff less so. They mixed up our order and forgot the cone, mumbledSomething and went to the back of the store to transfer the already melting ice-cream from cup to cone, leaving half of it behind. Great service is something else.

Absolutely delicious and unique flavors! They have vegan and lactose free options as well. The vegan option is a very unique taste that I really enjoyed. The staff are also incredibly safe and are behind a protective glass. It’s a great place to visit during covid.

I had a taste for some ice cream, so I decided to come here. I ordered a scoop of their strawberry ice cream on a waffle cone. It was so delicious!! I could actually taste the vanilla in the cone and the ice cream was flavorful and creamy. I will definitely be back.

Friendly fun environment. My friend enjoyed the vanilla ice cream with sprinkles. Looks even yummier with a waffle cone. Fudge pop (vegan) was the only thing on the menu that was non dairy.

They have fresh made ice cream and various flavor to try. Personally my fav is chocolate ganache, vanilla and brookies and cream. They also showcase how they make their fresh ice cream in 90 seconds in front of you. The place is also one of the best place to hang out, they have more seatings than other ice cream place. Also they have perfectly nice background to take pictures for instagram or snapchat

A yummy Huckleberry Sundae with huckleberry ice cream and crumble and whipped cream. We enjoyed this sundae. I wish the seats were a bit cozier and the music a bit lower so it was more comfortable to hang out. Delicious ice cream though

The ice cream is always great. Its similar to frozen custard from Abbotts Frozen Custard in Webster, NY. I bought a fun tee shirt too. The (Asian American) counter guy was very friendly and offered numerous samples & good explanations. I tipped for his counter service, because he went beyond simple scooping & ringing me up.

The sundae here with their 60% TCHO chocolate and caramel sauce definitely hits the spot. You could share it, but sometimes its good to treat yourself too...

The ice cream is definitely memorable: it wouldnt be surprising if you tasted it and thought this is the best icecream I have eaten in my entire life. Creamy, tasty, 5*. The place is busy, but they make sure you feel welcomed while in line (WE WELCOME ALL sign on the door -- kudos). You can keep yourself entertained while waiting by watching their ice-cream churning Brrr machine. The service is not 5 stars, so be ready to jump to anything that shows up, otherwise your icecream may just be left on the counter (the order might be changed in the making), but once you taste it you are most likely forget about the glitch. The interior is nonchalant and is a perfect fit for the Missions all-is-possible and better-be-different neighborhood.

Some of the best ice cream in the city. IMO definitely better than Bi Rite, usually with a much shorter line.

Cant get enough of this place. Go here regularly. Clean and a friendly and kind staff. Chicken is always moist, flavorful and delicious. And their kale Cole slaw is best Cole slaw Ive ever had on my spicy chicken sandwich and typically not a fan of coleslaw. Must try and highly recommend.

I am a vanilla ice cream fan and let me tell you something, I wanted 5 whole pints of the vanilla when I first tasted it. You need to try out this place for yourself.

Their brookie (brownie/cookie) and cream ice cream was delicious! Not too sweet. I got one scoop of brookie and cream with a waffle bowl and shared it with someone. But it was still too much for the two of us. I wish there was an option for smaller portion than one scoop.

The fact is their ice cream was delicious and you’d never know how it’s made unless you watched the process with your own eyes. It’s kind of like the dream science experiment you’d wish you thought of on your own ! While we were in San Francisco we visited their store on Valencia on various occasions. My favorite flavor was Brookies and Cream!

Smitten is by far my favorite ice cream shop in the Bay Area. The liquid nitrogen contraption they use truly does create a perfectly creamy and rich texture. They have seasonal flavors so it is fun to come in a be surprised by new flavors (I think they change on a monthly basis). Though Salt & Straw (main competition) has more variety of flavors at any given time and more interesting flavors, Smittens creaminess cant be beat and wins out in my opinion.

Brookies & Cream and Fresh Mint are my favorites. Waffle cone was a little sweet for my taste.

Smitten uses liquid nitrogen to make incredibly smooth ice cream. The only downside is that its fairly expensive for just a single scoop (and its not a big scoop either).

Amazing pasta and a great atmosphere. Perfect for summer evening patio dinner. They have a really cute garden that surrounds the patio with fresh vegetables. The service is very kind, though maybe a little too slow paced sometimes.

I love this ice cream shop. There are limited number of flavours per day. The flavours are changing, so you never know what youre gonna get. My favourite one was the Earl grey flavour.When ordering, you can choose your size, if you want some waffle cones or bowls, some sauce or some crunchy toppings. I especially recommend the waffles as its made on the spot. I find the sauce and topping a bit too much.And of course, the whole point of going to smitten is that each scoop of ice cream made is a show. In a chilly fog, the ice cream is frozen on the spot with liquid nitrogen.

Strawberry, chocolate and vanilla ice cream are my favorites at this place! Thank you for the quality product!

I would say that Smitten Ice Cream is a great place to enjoy fresh creamy ice cream. Although the ice cream is sorta overpriced, I would say that the ice cream is completely worth it. I highly recommend this place for tourists and people living in San Francisco. Keep doing you, Smitten Ice Cream. :)

This place is great. They have come a long way since it was just a small stand. They don’t offer the largest selection, but what they have will taste amazing. Plus it’s also fun to watch them make your tasty treat. Definitely worth the calories

Amazing small batch ice cream shop. I first visited the Hayes Valley location- which is the flagship store, but tiny. Glad they opened a more spacious one in the Mission district with more seating. I also like that theres a history section detailing the back story of how the owner first started the business. Recently tried the Strawberry Buttermilk with almonds-smooth & subtle flavour. Will definitely be back!

I don’t care if it’s a test kitchen if you don’t have that sweet, sweet mint chip. Your test flavors are WACK, and the fact that you are only doing pints right now is WACK. This location is WACK.In all seriousness, the “test kitchen” flavors are pretty boring and the of liquid nitrogen ice cream gimmick is tiring. Frankly, I go to Smitten exclusively for the mint chip, but since they don’t have it, you’re better served going around the corner to Buy-Rite.

Very good ice cream at an amazing value. They also churn it in front of you with liquid nitrogen!Went twice during my visit to the Bay. Had the earl grey and chocolate. Earl grey was fantastic and chocolate was just like eating a chocolate bar. You also get a lot of ice cream for the price you pay compared to other ice cream shop in the area.I highly recommend this place.

Excellent Ice cream

The pint had not been kept cold and was ice cream soup by the time we had walked to the park which is about a 5 minute walk from Valencia. We had to refreeze and eat the next day. The ice cream was okay but unfortunately we will not be going back.

Coming here is an experience! Its the only place I know that (almost) prepare the ice-cream to the order. Only 4 or 5 flavors are present each day, but each of them is prepared from scratch in small batch every 10 or 15 minutes using liquid nitrogen mixers. Its very cool to see and the ice-cream are really good and served in homemade waffle cones! Highly recommended!

One of the best ice creams Ive tasted. They keep changing the flavors based on season. I think my personal favorite is the strawberry with a balsamic vinaigrette! Of course the experience of seeing the flash freeze process using liquid Nitrogen is pretty cool especially if you have visitors :)

So many great flavor options from lavender to Thai tea to chocolate peanut butter. I got a scoop of the chocolate fudge swirl on a waffle cone. It was simply divine. Sample first and then pick what you want.

Employees get 5 stars they were nice and happy a refreshing change from most places these days. The ice cream is expensive small portions and nothing special. There are some local institutions that your money would be better spent at.

I have never seen ice cream made in such a way and it was super fun to watch. The ice cream itself was creamier than any Ive had before, and the waffle cone was insanely good. I wasnt expecting the waffle cone to be so good, but it stood up to the quality of the ice cream.

Unfortunately the flavors weren’t all there...my wife got the coffee flavor( shown in photo) and she said it was just okay. My son and I ended up switching because the peach bourbon I ordered was too sweet and I didn’t like the aftertaste and he got the chocolate chip mint that he didn’t care for because it tasted like toothpaste. There is some seating inside but not much

The ice cream is fabulous, so creamy and delicious. I always stick with the TCHO chocolate. They offer an off menu single scoop option, which is usually the right size for me. Their ice cream is so rich the small (2 scoops) and regular (3 scoops) sizes are too filling for me. I wish the ambience was more comfortable and the staff friendlier.

I just about choked at the price but it is located in San Francisco on a lovely shopping street so the rents are high and I paid for 2 cones. While we waited I looked at the art which isnt really art, per se, but a visual history that tells the story of a young womans dream of of bringing the best ice cream to the people using smarts and a big heart. She engineers and invents and inspires along her journey. This place isnt some rich guys money laundering venture, this delicious ice cream is made with love and brought to you thanks to an innovative genius who never gave up. When you see the bigger picture, it is a small price to pay and I am proud to support Smitten, especially when the return on my money tastes so good.

Went just before closing, and there wasnt much of a line.The ice cream was good and not super pricey.Service was pleasant.Definitely has some bougie flavors but also has solid standbys (like chocolate).

The texture of their ice cream is amazing! Just go with a simple vanilla or chocolate ganache and you wont be disappointed.

New location means more space and just in time for summer. Also bonus parklet outside to enjoy your frozen treat. This is not my favorite ice cream but it is a fun treat to show friends from out of town and now in my neighborhood is a bonus.

Pretty good ice cream but few flavors to choose from. There were just three last night: cookie dough, rhubarb and vanilla. You can get them in cups or cones. With toppings and whip cream. Its like flying on United these days. Every extra adds up and before two long you have two tiny ice creams for $15.
