This place does a great nitrogen, um, cold things haha. They have this thing called a dragons breath, which is light air filled basically large fruity loop balls, that he fills with liquid nitrogen, and it makes your breath smoky. Then he also nitrogen freezes, not just ice cream, but ORGANIC ice cream. And boy, theres quite a few flavors. I enjoyed the walnut pecan flavor.
All the cool kids were doing it and we wanted to be one of them. We were walking around the plaza and saw everyone with smoke out of their nose and mouth and was curious what this snack was. We placed our order of dragon breath, got our cup, took a bite and realized it was pretty much balls of fruit loops in nitrogen that you can blow out once you take a bite. The effect was really cool (though we couldn’t figure out how to blow smoke through our nose), but we were disappointed by the actual treat. It was literally just fruit loops in a ball and if you don’t eat it fast enough, it goes stale really fast and you lose the smoke.Overall, it had a cool effect, but the dessert itself was meh. We also go a lychee green tea. It was refreshing because it was hot outside, but it wasnt the best quality or flavor.
First time there and it was great! There is waiting because there is only one person there but the prices here are great compared to the places in north California. I say don’t pay attention to these reviews go see it for yourself:) my family member and I ordered milk teas and they were great! Recommend!
Sea salt coffee had very little coffee taste. Only sea salt. Not good.
I got the small dragons breath and it was a very neat item. The took what seemed to be colored corn pops and doused them in liquid nitrogen. When you eat one you create the Dragons breath. Its a very cool twist on food. It doesnt taste like much but will definitely cool you off on a hot summer day.
The place to try out Dragons Breath. Its cereal frozen with nitrogen, not too tasty honestly but fun to try once as when you have it in your mouth it makes smoke come out of your nose and mouth. They have other things too, like snacks and drinks.
The ice cream was so rich with flavor i was sad when it was gone. The entertainment of that trip was the Dragons Breath(crunchies frozen with nitrogen.) It was a delightful place.
It was closed when I got there so my son and I walked around the mall for a bit and when we came back it was opened, but oddly enough after we ordered and received it, the guy running it (he was the only one there) immediately closed up the shop again, for what reason I dont know. We only came to try the Dragons Breath desert which is basically cereal type (Captain Chrunch Berries is the closest thing that I could compair it to) balls dipped in liquid nitrogen to create the smokey effect. Its a fun, inexpensive ($4.95 for a small and $6.95 for a large), kid friendly treat to get while in Japan Town (its on the 2nd floor, in case you cant find it like me lol)
During my visit I noticed a lot of people in line waiting to get a cool and colorful looking cup with what seem cold ice and fruit, unfortunately, it was not fruit it was simply cereal looking candy, and other than being a cool subject for a nice picture, it doesnt really add anything, the taste is bland and its pretty much just frozen cereal. It does attract a lot of people, so kudos for that.
Fun place for kids as they have Dragons Breath as a novelty dessert and 2nd time taking children here to try it. CAUTION!!! Any liquid nitrogen attached to the cereal balls will cause cryogenic burns shredding the tissues of your mouth. I stopped my daughter just as she was about to put it in her mouth. Of course... I was curious enough to see what would happen with what they left in the cup for a child. Never again will I bring kids to try this.
Very crowded ice cream shop in Japantown, that specializes in ‘Dragon Breath’. It’s a cool concept that is overrated, as the flavor doesn’t live up to the hype. Try other items on their menu, most of them are pretty good. It is best to visit on weekdays.
It was pretty good! Practically no wait time because we were the only customers. Got there around 5-6pm on a Monday night. Right before the line got long. I would say you have to go at the right time. But regardless, ordered the blueberry ice cream and made fresh to order. Liquid nitrogen was a nice touch. Made the ice cream last longer. ~$5 for a single scoop
I ordered a mango and matcha milk teas. They were AMAZING! Prices here for boba is way cheaper then in places like santa Rosa, Sonoma..etc.. I especially love the paper straws#SAVETHETURTLES
The ice cream is great, and made to order, and cheaper than Smitten. All the flavors Ive tried have been great. Oh, and its all organic. However, the service is terrible. On numerous visits there was only one person working so they have to take the orders and make the ice cream. Its Saturday afternoon and only one person working. We waited 30 minutes for an ice cream. If I didnt live across the street I probably wouldnt go back.
We went there to try the dragon breath thing which is really just for a bit of fun but its basically breakfast Cheerios chilled with dry ice/liquid nitrogen - doesnt taste that good but is fun for a laugh. Best to be shared (among 3-4 ppl) even for the smallest portion.
Had a cool cereal thing called dragons breath, it was basically liquid nitrogen cereal
Taro boba tea is made with a mix and has very little flavor. Theres so much ice you get almost no boba tea. The only saving grace is the cashier was pleasant.
Tried the dragon breath. Its a very cool concept. Has no taste but its really fun to try.
In terms of pure sillyness, you have to get the Dragons Breath. It is a harmless corn puff-like bite-size ball that is slightly sweet. But add in Nitrogen, and it is a smoke spewing fun treat. Perfect for being silly with your date or little kids. Well worth the $7 for the large tub. Expect long lines at various times.
The dragons breath tastes like Trix cereal. Cool to get once for the sake of the smoke, but not my cup of tea in terms of flavor.
Love the dragon balls! Gal working there was super nice.
Ok, ok... get your dragon breath dessert and move on. Fun and effective but nothing worth more than a social media experience.
Was passing by Japan town and saw this place. We saw the food the liquid nitrogen treat that people were eating online and decided to get it. They call it dragons breath and they were selling a small cup for 5$So first impressions was omg this is so cool I get to try this! However the fad quickly died down when you take a bite of this thing and see that it was coloured corn pops! I thought that they made their own cool dessert but they didnt. After having a few of the things, the middle part basically had no nitrogen in them and was just eating them as corn pops.Id say give it a try but its a one time thing
Drove all the way to SF to try dragons breath (it was fun) but the girl that was at the register was so rude! She kept rolling her eyes at us, left the stand before we even gave her back the signed receipt and left! Horrible experience and wont be coming back any time soon. This was this Sunday around noon.
Rude staff would not recommend.
I loved their dragon breath cheeseballs!! The line can be intimidating but it moves fast. These cheeseballs are frozen with nitrogen to give the smoky effect and its super awesome mega cool 😎😎 Taste-wise.. its 🦀, well more tasteless actually.. but cool factor is 11/10!! Careful when you bite or put it on your tongue too quick 😝😛 it can be extremely cold and might burn your tongue. Defs well worth it 😂🤣
Meh. The entire appeal here is the liquid nitrogen process, but the flavors arent very appetizing and the texture can be inconsistent. They are always very busy and the small staff is also obviously overworked.
Love their (made while you wait) ice cream and extensive list of sorbet options.
Ordered a Oolong milk tea with boba and it was so bland, lets just say it did not taste good. Worker there does not seem like he even wants to be there but
It is good to try the dragon breath pop corn. The idea is new but not very delicious
I would definitely go hear again!❤️
The ice cream is amazing! Dont get hung up on the captain crunch dragon breath dessert which looks intriguing. Instead, order the ice cream. Made as you wait. Creamy and rich. Almost like gelato but denser. The flavor is so rich. I had the chocolate chip mint. The macaroons are also phenomenal!! Try kona coffee, lemon, creme brûlée, smores, salted Carmel. Worth a swing by....
Im writing this review specifically because I just tried out their unique hyped dessert called Dragons Breath. This was the most incredibly disappointing product Ive experienced after seeing it on Facebook and watching others marvel in the white smoke rushing out of their mouths as they took a bite. If ever I had to describe an overrated product, the first thing that will come to mind is now this Dragons Breath. All it is is Captn Crunch cereal dipped in super cold liquid nitrogen. When you bite into it, you taste mostly gas rather than solid and it is so cold, it may irritate your teeth. (mine did). Even the solid portions hardly have any flavoring. Its a rather bland dessert with a mildly interesting novelty feature. Id highly recommend against this, considering it cost an unfitting $4.99.
After waiting 20 minutes for a coffee and a bubble tea, the tea wasnt the flavor we ordered and the coffee wasnt how it was ordered either.
My friend and I only taken couple bites of Dragon’s Breath tasted terrible and they weren’t willing to exchange for another product. Very disappointed.
Going to be honest didnt try anything else other than their fire-breath, but im still angry that they charged me 9 dollars for what is essentially frozen fruity loops
The ice-cream is super good. No long line at all
Don’t get boba from here. We received one with rotten milk. They just gave us a replacement without offering a refund. Clearly not abiding by health regulations.
Bought cupcakes for the trip home... $3 each .. super tiny and so dry... SAD!
Cupcakes were extremely dry and flavorless. Felt like I was eating a doorstop.
The passion fruit ice cream was heavenly
The thing I ordered was dragons breath and it was so good
Went there for dragon breath. Its just cereal soaked in liquid nitrogen.
Service is horrible. The cashier ordered a large for me without asking and after I asked for a small one, he did not look like he wanted to talk at all. No response to any question. Will not return.
You have try the dragon breath treat👏👏😋
The dragon breath is fun for the experience but tastes pretty gross (comparable to stale fruit loops)
Awesome place to visit!!
Definitely worth a try!
The ice cream is made using nitrogen
Drinks are bland and arent mixed well
Toxic
Dragon breath!!!!
Known for the Dragon Breath and therefore quite hyped. However, you can do without this attraction without hesitation. You definitely dont miss a thing. My Dragon Breath portion also barely worked.
The attraction is the Dragons breath, which are basically froot loops with nitrogen, it is cool for photo and video when the taste is the least important.
They are only cereal balls 4 • 99 dollars but for a single time it is fine with a single glass you can share. its just so you dont get tempted.
