I. LOVE. HATS. Found a couple of beautiful hats here to take home with me. Service was great. Only reason why I didn’t rate it 5.0 was they didn’t have hat boxes. It’s a hat shop for dern sake!!They did call their other store to secure one, but that means a separate trip. Other than that, top notch. The one young gentleman even customized my hat with a new ribbon and additional feathers.I’ve already received a ton of compliments on the hat ;). Thank you!

Goorin Bros make and sell great hats but even better customer service.I have been a Goorin Bros fan of long standing, so the first time I visited the US had to include a visit to a Goorin shop. And it did.I had sometime in Seattle before a flight and visited the Seattle shop. I purchased a trilby I was really happy with but when I arrived in S. Francisco in the evening, the hats brim had lost its shape and was all wonky. Within a couple of days and with a couple of emails with Goorin HQ, I got a receipt emailed to me (which I didnt have anymore) and went to Goorin SF Union Square. The shop assistant was very interested and upon my request to have the hat exchanged for another model, suggested me another hat (one more suitable to my built and taste).I came out of the store feeling really good about myself and the service I had just received. I wear hats every single day and this Goorin is the hat that signifies to me not only the great time I had in America, but also how a company went out off their way to be nice to a customer. Next, off we went to see the Muir Woods up in Sausalito.There are many hat companies and to be fair many make better hats than Goorin. However, they are good quality, honestly priced hats. That price includes invaluable customer service; which is the one thing that will make me go back to Goorin is they work hard to keep the hat industry alive and the customer service we are not exactly used to received in this online commerce age.

The quality of the hats are great. The review is for the shop, namely the ill-tempered man that was there each time I went. The first to buy a hat that I ended up returning since I bought a cheaper model that worked better for my budget and it was packable. I hoped that I could get a small bend that was in the brim of the hat that I ordered online steamed out, but he said it was not possible since it was a cheaper hat than the one I was returning. He scorned me for the return, noting that is was a much higher quality than the hat I have now.

As a 6 foot six tall man when I entered everyone else in the shop had to exit as only I would fit, good thing I am thin. Good experience overall. Luckily I already knew what I wanted, so I grabbed 2 flat caps, paid the young guy. just so you know beforehand. Limited selection for sure. May be better ordering from Goorin Direct due to the small selection.

Super cute hat shop. Very difficult not to find yourself trying different hats on once you step inside.

The service here is excellent, and Ive been to 3 of their stores in San Francisco. They know their stuff, are happy to help. The only thing that is preventing me from putting 5 stars is that they dont offer bowlers in any other color other than black.(hint, hint). Other than that, I have 3 hats from them, my wife has 2, and our son has one of his own. Enough said!

Service was crazy good. If you like hats stop in and get some help. Very sweet staff, knowledgeable and not pushy. Well done! The most expensive Fedora is about $150.

I already own Goorin hats and they have such a great selection but the young pretentious guy was terribly inconvenienced by 3 people waiting outside for over half an hour for him to arrive (as it says 10am opening online and he was disappointed in us being there 30 mins before him arriving at 10.35am saying the store didnt open until 11am) and his surly manner made it an unpleasant experience. Less than suitable service for a quality product Goorin. I came specifically to buy a Roscoe and have decided not to as the memory of his poor service will linger with the hat.

Goorin has some of the best hats around but what really makes the store is the staff and their excitement about hats. You can tell that they love everything to do with hats and thats what makes shopping there such a pleasure.

Tony shop but I love the hats. I found these guys a few years ago in Boston and glad to have them out here in SF.

Great service, hat options, and American made hat options at a competitive price. The service was spot on and they really knew their hats. Im looking forward to returning and purchasing another hat one day.

The store front appears small but still offers a great selection of hats and accessories, if you know what to ask for. Hint: Ask if they have anything unique one-offs under the stairs.

Great hats but really cramped store! The store on Haight St is much bigger with a wider selection. I hear the one in North Beach is even better.

Great hats for some people but I never find good hats for me. They are a little boring and although they are classic they arent ever outstanding

90% of hats are made of typical Chinese crapmanship. $45 for a hat that cost China $4 to make, if that. If you do find a good hat, its too expensive. Do yourself a favor and go to Berkeley Hat Company on Telegraph Ave. Killer hats of all makes Stetson, Mayser, Dobbs, etc., and, cheaper than anyone else. Staff is a little eccentric, but hey, its Berkeley. Carry lots of classics, not passing fads that try and pass for a brim worn by most 16 year old girls or community college wannabes wearing skinny jeans walking down the street and smoking cloves. Scope it out!

Just stopped by out of curiosity. The service was very friendly and forthcoming (and spoke a little German, too ;-) I didnt end up buying anything, though, vacation money was a little tight :-(

We came in and the sign clearly said open until 7pm and it was only 6:15 and he girl said it was closed for an emergency. Which it clearly wasn’t

Very beautiful hats and caps, of high quality and with a neat finish. The prices are affected (count 40-50 $ for a cap model) but, with very good service and tailor-made advice, you can buy a favorite piece or offer one as a gift!

Another branch of my favorite store of waves that go in the chabeta. With more than a century selling hats, a couple of brothers started in Pittsburgh and then relocated right here in SF to Mission and first st.The prices are high but I think the finish, the materials and the design deserve it. Besides, Im already chatting with the girl who attends that BTW speaks Spanish.Come in, sure, something sticks to you in this tiny great place.
