A good selection of various nonsense from the allied countries such as buckwheat and herring. Large selection of sweets and sweets. gingerbread from Kiev and waffles from Belarus are especially impressive. Preservation is nothing special, just like in any supermarkets. you should always check the expiration dates!
Its okay, i prefer the other store close to ocean beach
The real Soviet store experience! Has most of the products you’d want from Eastern Europe; prices are great, stocks fresh caviar and the pickles are homemade. Store is a bit run down and cakes in the back don’t look too appetizing (go next door to Moscow & Tbilisi), but otherwise it’s good.
Its okay. There is quite of bit of Ukraine and Russian items. Could use more Western Europe products.
Great products, service and prices.
Come to get a cake, but.. they all looked depressing 😏 dont know how they tasted, but ended up not buying any because none of those cakes looked fresh.Interior.. I felt like I walked into 1997 🤦♀️I dont know how other russian stores are in Cali (visiting here) but the amount of product that’s thrown into here is asking for a place double the size.Cashier was nice 😊Expect some customers to bump into you and say nothing 😄, I know customers behavior is not on the store, but that goes back to small place and narrow isles.
Our kids so happy, found all the sweet they were looking for
Good for Russian foods.
Too many people in the store at the same time. The rest is Ok, food is good.
Fresh food. Big product selection.
Best prices on Russian groceries in town
Very good Bread and Salads.
Honestly, prices are awesome, but come on store needs to be better organized and cleaned. Its a mess. Some food expired. Please clean shelves and organize it.
Great selection and prices. Helpful staff.
Cant use a credit card unless you spend $15 +. Cant use a debit card unless you spend $5+. So.. get your cash ready if you need something less and dont want to be forced to spend more. Other than that...meahhh.. not what it used to be back in the days...
Cheaper than the similar store across the street
Unique variety of products. Wish that this place to have more space.
Great if you want some russian favorites like Ikra or pelmeni
Great candy selection and reasonable caviar prices.
Price 👍🏻Cleaning 👎🏻Service👎🏻Do not recommend this place, and please check your recipe before you leave the store, you might be charged for one item twice
Im not sure how to rank it. It definitely Sparks some nostalgia. Huge variety of Russian and Ukrainian sweets. Not so great assortment of savory perishables. Also, no produce at all.Definitely worth going at least once if youre from Russia or Ukraine.
They have some hard to find items, great pickles, lox, and marvelous halvah.
Good bread and herring
I love Russian vanilla icecream
I am always intrigued by this place. Its great to see the variety of foods that I grew up on in Ukraine. The problem is customer service at this place. They are rude and do not provide any accommodations to the customer. What happened to pleasing the customer? My mother bought several products that were already expired. She became violently sick after eating old bologna and moldy bread. She traveled to the store on the bus, which was a great hardship for her to return the items and receive a replacement. In turn, she was humiliated and made to be the culprit of her getting sick. Her items were taken from her with no refund or a replacement. So as you can imagine, we are no longer going to shop here.
They have food that is hard to find in the area (I was looking for творог). Thats most important in grocery, but there are a lot of things to improve. Cons: Cashier did not suggest a bag. Also, had to pay 15 cents for plastic bag. Thats quite strange for me here. You can not pay with card if your check is less than $15. Place itself is old and crammed as most of shops at Geary blvd.
Amazingly diverse offering of delicacies and staples from all over Eastern Europe.
Wonderland of Eastern European jarred foods... good prices. Russian books and videos upstairs.P.S. The papers on the display window have the best Chinese calligraphy Ive ever seen
Great store, dont miss it.
Its great except for incredibly rude cashier lady.
Authentic products, as well as homemade sausages, variety of pirozhkis, as well as all foods in between and a great liquor selection. They also do catering, fully liquor licensed.
Be aware of the expired food!!! Its not a bad store, but dont buy anything thats packaged by them (salami, pickled food, caviar, etc. Just buy the stuff that was packaged by the original producer. Then ALWAYS check the expiration date.
Low-income prices, good selection of prime quality products from Russia into SF USA.
We came in here during lunch over the weekend and it was busy! The line does move pretty quickly though. We werent that hungry so just got a burrata salad and OMG it was soooo goood!!!! The food came out quickly too. The place is small but very cute! Highly recommend it and Ill definitely be back to try more of their dishes!
Really good place, always fresh produce, reasonable priced! Highly recommend. Bought some pretty good caviar and other good stuff :)
Credit card limit is $15. Why not make it $100? Ppl carry cash these days as never before, right?
The best place for Russian food
Unfortunately the customer service is typically “Soviet” in the worst meaning possible. The employees never smile at you and don’t make you feel welcomed at all.It is obvious that the prices at the store are literally made up from the head, so my fiancé and I thought it would be reasonable to ask for a bargain price when we decided to get 4 overly priced nesting dolls (matryoshkas) at once. $36 per doll for something that is less than $10 in Russia? I understand marking up the price some, but price-gouging and being inhospitable to potential customers is where I draw the line. The cashier lady barked at me that they don’t provide any discounts, which honestly sounds like a really poor way of leading a business in a place like this. 🤷🏼♀️
Russian delicates. Not bad place if you want to try something new.
Absolutely horrible service. Feels like I teleported back into USSR
Mm excellent store. Fish jerky galore. Great Russian bakery next door.
Russian Market with many interesting and delicious food. My favorite Sour Cream Honey Cake is so good my friends ate two pieces.
Place to get some ethnic food from Russia and eastern Europe. They have preserves, cookies and candies, cause, some selection of sausages and kielbasa, cheeses and breads. Credit cards are accepted
Good choice of Russian and Eastern European baked goods, meat products, jams, pickled everything and of course cheese, kefir and butter! Bit cluttered but can get through :)
Mainly Russian stuff, and lots of it. Frozen pelmyeni, prepackaged smoked stuff, all things pickled and various candies. Bring your ability to read Cyrillic.
Always fresh food
Stopped in on a Saturday morning to look for babushka dolls and found many. I found the store to have a wide variety of food and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Nice, authentic slavic store. Food from Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Belarusia and more. Love their prices and desserts.
Small place packed with Eastern European foods.
Great variety of russian and eastern european groceries. I dont know what to do with half the stuff but fun to explore and interesting to experiment with!
Nice selection of Russian food. Reasonably priced.
European goods. Good organic food.
Very good prices on caviar. Medium size store with average selection.
Reasonable selection of eastern european products.
Be aware!!!! Food with expiration date tampered with!!! not only packaged by them.
They have a decent selection of European foods but the cashier lady lacks customer service skills and they often overcharge you on items - so make sure to check your receipt, twice
Dude, this place is like stepping into the Soviet Union, circa 1989, bro. Check it out. Go upstairs to check out their authentic Russian books. Kids books, old books, everything and anything.
Goof
Adequate European market.
This place is unfortunately full of offense material. Rasist product tags... Etc
Expensive, not really fresh food. Not fresh at all.
Kind of odd to see slices of cake in the freezer. Service for non Russians is no existent
Very good choice of Russian foods and deli
You can find anything you want from the post soviet countries, but expensive
Every bite was divine!
Nice Russian grocery store
Awesome store!
Not everything is available!
Variety of Russian sweets and meat
Bread had a little mold on few slices
Lots of sweets from Eastern Europe.
Cheap
Authentic Russian groceries
The food is often expired!!!
Ex
Nice store, not expensive, but open until 20:00 pm, not until 21:00, so be careful) everyone is good)
The guys are rude and unfriendly. At the checkout, the girls are more welcoming.
Cheaper than competitors, dont pay attention to the look. Plus, a bookstore upstairs with a huge selection of second-hand books.
The inside of the store is a little messy,There are quite a few types of products.Russian sweets and jams are also quite cheap,When I go, I feel like buying souvenirs on a tripBecome.
Everything is fine.
Love this shop !!! Everything is always fresh, the staff is very friendly, the good atmosphere helps to slowly get the desired products. Recommend!
The best Russian store that I know in the bay era .. by the ratio of goods and prices, as well as drugs
Great service
Great service, always fresh goods, good quality. Thank you
A chic place for fans of domestic
