I really like shopping at this store. Clean and well stocked(at it was today). Staff is professional and fast. I dont ever seem to stand in line more than 5 or 10min.
Clean & their produce always looks good. Guess they were hit hard by Covid, like most other retailers, except their prices are noticeably 20 - 25% higher than they were at the beginning of summer. Most other grocery stores have adjusted prices back to about 10 - 15% increase. Maybe they are just getting back into the game a little slower than others, but their prices do not seem to be quite as competitive as they have been in the past. However, the store was very clean, products were stocked in neat & orderly fashion & employees as friendly & helpful as usual.
Excellent. I love that they have organic chicken.
Staff is doing a great job keeping the carts and store clean.. much appreciated!Unfortunately, customer on the other hand should keep their mask fully on. So many people walking around with their mask 1/2 on and nose exposed.:(
Compact sized store easy access, has almost everything you would likely need and often has good specials on staple items like chicken, eggs,,,plenty of produce,Prices are lower than Safeway and not too much higher than Foodsco or Bargain Market,Efficient staff,
Always check the weekly Ad. Many items here are cheaper then Safeway, and they always have a great weekly sale items. Staff is friendly, and efficient, and check out is efficient now that all customers form a single check out line.Parking can get tight at mid day, but it’s easy at all other hours.Store stocks many items in larger sizes, and also runs some sales based on buying large quantities.I suggest adding this chain into your weekly shopping rotation.
Club store prices and selection without the hassle of needing a membership.
This grocery shop is the best for me so far. You can buy everything you need here at just a very affordable price. The service staff is attentive even the security guards are nice and kind. This is not crowded but a variety of choices. They have a decent selection of items from locals to imported. I highly recommend this grocery shop to everyone.
My Mom loves to shop here. Friendly, helpful employees.
Very unprofessional staff starting from the Manager to one of the employee’s costumer service very disappointing but they treat people who spend money like we ask for free then we pay nothing it’s free in this city I hope they do some training about costumer service so they can learn how speak to a people who spend money in their stores
02.28.217 the ave store just switched back to dedicated cashier lines.. so much extra criss.crossing with fellow shoppers... Bad idea, even during RED tier. Felt safer with the previous single queue feeder line.
Always a great experience. The employees are very helpful
I was able to get all the items I went to get. Will be going back to Smart & Final to pickup some Laundry Detergent and some Lysol Disinfect Spray. Thank You for all the services you all provide to Customers fromSmart & Final. God Bless
It was quite a nice shopping trip they even had a spare mask for me.
No line to enter. Store is not crowded today. Line to pay was 2 people ahead of me (very short) and the cashier (register 1) was great & friendly!
The store name says it all. SMART place to save on your daily grocery needs!
Picked up fresh strawberries and bag of fuji apples ... both on sale.
3/5 theres alot of old people who seem to be crazy.. or smelly... theres alot of fresh produce and things to choose from.. could be cleaner.. the staff is doing good jobs though. and the covid system is very well done..
Everyone is always friendly and helpful...
Like going early-ish, when the crowd seems lighter. Also, just want to give a high-five to all essential workers. We need you! Stay safe.
This is a GREAT place. I used to shop in this edifice with my mom, when it was QFI and I was a child. Now, its a wonderful place I frequent with my own daughter, after we go to acupuncture next door. I pick up frozen lasagna, fish sticks, ziti, pizza, and pot pies for a song, I get blocks of delicious cheese, racks of rice pudding, cartons of yoghurt, bags and bags of frozen peas, hand sanitizer, soup, fruit cocktail, all the stuff an American would eat, Bisquick, and they are so nice and its so cheap and its so delicious. If I get a ride, I can buy more stuff, otherwise, just what my girl and I can carry on the bus. All week long, I am grateful to smart and final for my delicious, paid for food. Its great I tell you, great. Maybe just dont expect it to be other than it is, a wonderful place where you can afford to lay up a great dinner.
Organized, stocked, and clean. Thank you!
Good prices on items I needed. Fast, friendly check out. Ample handicapped parking. So glad I stopped there today.
Shockingly bad.Poor selection, empty shelves, bruised and scarce produce. Low quality brands at average prices. After several trips we’ve given up that it will improve. Will chose driving to a farther grocery to avoid this store a block from home. Sad!
Ok, low-med selection with meh pricing most of the time
Its a small store, but still packed full of savings. I mostly stick to there brand. Most things I buy are = to or cheaper than Costco.Staff is friendly.
Conviniently located in a quiet residential neighborhood, Smart and Final, true to its name, offers a comprehensive and stress-free grocery shopping. Parking on premises, only half block from a major traffic artery in Richmond District, - Geery Street, between 8th/entrance/ and 7th/exit/, street. Easily competing with more pretentious rivals like Costco, Trader Joe, and Safeway, S@F offers more agreeable prices and practical selection in variety and sizes of products, apparently due to many, many years of service to populus and private food vendors. Last visit, I bought a strainer for $5 and change, only half price anywhere, a place to go for your kitchen tools and supplies. Daily vegetable specials offered 50c, Haas avocado, I took ten, gave 2 to consierge in my building, 1 to my neighbor, and was set for avocados for whole week. Another special was a 1lb container if strawberries for 2$. Store has a huge selection in a frozen food department, ample selection of moderately priced Vines and very representative Beers choices . Space has high ceilings, well lit, staff is helpful, five Cash registers streaming shoppers nonstop with occasional wait in line for few minutes. It was fun.
Love there are s one line (social distance) set up!
Good deals, but the selection is lacking
Vey good prices and they have almost everything one can imagine. The cashier lady was nice and helpful. Overall a good experience!
Love to shop here. All personal stuff is friendly, helpful.
On Thursday 10am, it was not crowded and was well stocked. They have social distancing in line to the cashiers and clear screen between you and them.
Pretty full today. Waiting cash out line goes to the back of the store but moves OK.
Best deal on portabella mushrooms of anywhere.
Did my grocery shopping in the neighborhood. Very well organized with the social distancing rules.
Its aight
I love the layout of the store. The staff is pretty friendly. They always make eye contact.
Kevin is the best cashier in the store...
Ran out their sale items (on a Saturday) that drew me into this store in the first place. They should make sure everything on sale is restocked on Fridays, and Mondays. Shopping there on the first two days of their sales is what really brings me here instead of Safeway. The meat sale prices are more alluring than the other grocery stores.
This place is somewhere in between a grocery store and Costco. A rare SF store with a parking lot, although rather busy. Exceptional manager at this store keeps this store running smoothly. Wear a warm jacket, always super cold in store.
Ive been going here for years. Its handy because it has fresh produce, meats, dairy, frozen, alcohol,, candy, spices,, nice deals, party and catering supplies, and you can buy in bulk. The cashier who checked me out today was helpful. During the pandemic they have protective checkouts, etc. Parking is usually pretty good here.
Its like having a local big box store, pricewise. Fortunately, its not huge, and has a decent collection of reasonably priced food. Their private label products are quality, and significantly cheaper than the branded equivalents. The named brands are familiar known (like Guerrero Tortillas and Sun Vista beans) and good. I go there at least twice a week.
What else can I say,, its a grocery store
Competitive prices.
Great alternative to Costco. I can get all of the bulk item spices, floor, sugar and canned goods here. Its nice that theres an attached parking lot here, but be aware that you have to pay for parking
Ive found everything what I planned to buy. Not too many people.
Always, and I do mean always, enjoy shopping there, great prices and I always check out the mark downs on the rack at the rear of the store. Chris, such a pleasant cashier they all are but hes out shines them all, and the manager Mark, never too busy to to answer customers ?ions........
Plenty of parking, good prices and friendly staff.
On this Wednesday morning the place was packed lured by sales, super coupons, and a 10% off your bill coupon as well. I managed to load my cart with deals such as red yams for 69 cents a pound and frozen egg rolls which were on sale already. Overall the store carries almost everything you desire and at prices 20-30% less than the other chains and the service was great too. I asked about the location of the Martinelli cider which had a coupon for $3.99 for three bottle. The guy stocking shelves stopped to not only give me directions but walked me to the place where they were stocked. Every check out line was opened and this expedited paying for your groceries in a very efficient way.
Good deals on some large-size packaged products.Easily accessible via MUNI.Shop late in the evening to avoid long lines at the registers.
The staff Jenny is not wearing a mask and was rude about informing of the opening hours of the store. Not wearing a face cover doesnt help in reducing the risk of getting the virus and spreading it.
I shop here all the time, and this is a better S&F than other locations. But tonight they pissed me off. I parked, did my shopping, went to the car, saw the suppliers rig parked in the lane we use to exit the lot. There were two slots open parallel to the truck. Before I could finish unloading, some woman parked in one of the slots, effectively blocking the only way to exit. I approached her, wont say what I think of her response. I called the manager to come deal with it. Why the truckers didnt put cones out, Ill never know. Manager said they would leave in 3minutes. A non-answer. 5 minutes later one of the parking slots opened up, and I was finally able to inch my way out. A total of 15 wasted minutes.I know some of this is situational, but they need to light a fire under the truckers to manage traffic flow and always leave a way for people to exit. What if Id had a medical emergency?[Rant over]Fix it!
Had 2 experiences with the manager and I will never shop here again. First time he was questioning what I was buying when shopping for someone else and today he implied I was trying to steal a bottle of alcohol. Will never shop there again...deplorable little man
Clean and fully stocked
Not all shoppers keep a safe distance from others.
There was no line to get in, it wasnt crowded in the store, and there was not a line at checkout. All the shelves were pretty well stocked.I failed to get only 1 item.
Good prices and never too crowded
Alway s have what I need. The customer service is excellent. Willing to out of there way to find and look for requested items.
Thanks, S and F is excellent!Smart and Final is really great! I want to go back there again!
Misleading pricing/tags; poor quality merchandise. Yesterday was the 3rd time they posted a sale label on ice cream with a tiny 8 pt font saying you needed to buy 2, otherwise higher price. Lots of people just rush thru the place so I imagine they benefit from consumer ignorance. But what a way to manage a store. Safeway on 7th Ave is much higher quality and better, TRANSPARENT pricing. I also looked at the salads and saw they were trying to sell on sale salad mixes that were decaying in the bag - it looked brown and some leaves were corroding. Only good thing: ample parking in busy Clement corridor.
It is ok. Cheap but produce is definitely not ripe. Some things are in huge cans, others reasonably sized. Not necessarily my place but lots of customers.
They had all the sale items in stock and the items were easy to find. Fast friendly cashiers
Its a good place to get things for the house and for. The services was good
Good
Great low price grocery store with nice people specially juices, milk, eggs, crab patties, oils, calories free suger, soda drinks, vegetables n fruits, chees, breads, coffee, big bottles of dawn dish washing n other hand washing cheap,
Things on sale were so high on the shelf, I couldnt reach them. The sales girl was very pleasant
Clean and well staffed.
Lots of bulk items to get without a club card. Good candy source.
Extra large sizes for the same price as regular sizes elsewhere. Parking provided.
In and out with everything I needed
Good prices on both normal and bulk grocery items.
It is Okay. Unless you buy bulk, it is expensive. But good.
I love the value pricing on household items and food without the club membership of places like Costco.
Great customer service. Friendly. Very helpful. Clean.
This afternoon I needed a few items and Smart & Final has everything you need
You can find some exclusive produce in there, but still this place is not a good source of food.
Great prices!
Great pricing, parking lot. Highly recommend
The best grocery store in SF nice & clean
Theyve changed their store format. A lot more people shop now. Great prices instead of driving to costco. Dont forget to bring your BIG costco bag.
Clean store with good deals for zevia sodas.
We just went first time in smart and final and found good palace for groceries love it
Very good selection on bulk items.
Gads, take me back to my SOME Whole Foods. The parking lot is a city planning disaster (and if youre going to drive a giant SUV at least learn to park it within the lines!). Its hard to get in the spendthrift, green-tote-bagging, organic mood when Im suffering from road rage and low blood sugar from waiting so damn long for a parking spot. Oh, and you dont carry canned mandarin oranges.
This store never has the meat e.g. tri tip, NY steaks that they have on ad. The manager tells us they cater more to Asian people who dont usually purchase those items. Its very frustrating since this Smart and Final is in our neighborhood. Why put it on ad if they dont carry it? Other than this complaint, the store is just fine.
Like going here when I visit. Not the biggest selection but good prices and quick checkout for how many people were there.
Stocking shelves and freezers Saturday afternoons not a good idea. No organic produce, $5.00 heads of cauliflower and no gluten free
Good place to shop for bulk deals and discounts for schools, churches, organizations.
An alternative to Costco without the membership fee. Great food selection, lots of cleaning supplies.
Wide selection of food and food-related products; good prices, consumer-friendly policy and service -- highly RECOMMEND to shop there!
Not many healthy products and not eco friendly with heavy duty plastic bags.
Free parking (smart final cust only). Bought norwegian bottled water in good price.
Good selection, not high quality
Good place to shop for basic groceries.
Good place to shop and near to Clement St.
Great staff, good selection, good parking lot
Always have great specials. People are friendly there
