Good for Irish snacks other foods. Can be expensive but it comes with the cost of importing stuff etc. They also do a Irish breakfast roll if you ask at the deli
Good market with unusual products imported from Ireland and the British Isles generally plus the best sandwich counter in the city, honestly. One of the secret gems of the sunset, with the best Dutch crunch around. Im a little nervous to write this publicly but they deserve more notoriety.
I appreciate their unique selection of snacks. They have tons of cookies and chips to choose from. I have to say, I strongly dislike the coffee they sell in bulk. Jeremiahs Choice is not my think and they have very little to choose from beyond that. Here are some pictures of the funniest names of snacks. But this should help show the selection. You ever see Jammy Dodgers and Humbugs on the same shelf?
Awesome corner grocery store for the essentials, also with a great Irish/uk import selection.
I love this market and shop there regularly as I am local. They have such a cool and eclectic selection of snacks and drinks, and also a bunch of European import products if you are looking for those. Their produce variety is also great and the employees are friendly. I am happy to give my business to these guys! If I could change one thing, it would be to brighten up the deli a bit and also make the frozen food section a little more interesting, but regardless they still deserve 5 stars IMO.
Probably wouldnt call it gourmet, but a convenient basic grocery for an urban setting.
A pleasant bit of Ireland right here in SF.
The breakfast sandwich here is one of my favorite things to eat in the city. Lots of commonwealth goodies too, if you have a Cadbury craving.
Amazing sandwiches aint going to lie
Good place for British and Irish food but a bit expensive
Nice grocery store that also has a sandwich shop too. The sandwich maker speaks some English but has an accent so have patience while ordering. Otherwise good service.
I think my 20 year loyalty has come to an end. I’ve been shopping here 20 years and will get a single Sutter Home wine 187 milliliter bottle out of the four pack. But not today. Cashier was incredibly rude, “where did you get this from?” So I showed him. He walked me back announcing to everyone in hearing distance, “No way. Either you buy the four pack or you leave empty handed.” So I mentioned that “I’ve been buying these singly for 20 years, so you must have changed your policy.” Cashier: no response.Seriously? No signage. Just down and dirty?Loyalty means nothing.
Sandwiches are great but recently raised their prices to 13.00 for a regular. no thanks. most expensive i have seen anywhere.
Great place for British and Irish food. Irish bacon and sausages, tea, chocolates, Marmite and all the rest.
Love this place. Awesome produce, solid dairy and fresh meat selection, fantastic sandwiches, great staff and a great selection of beer/wine.
Roxys is a legend. They have the best sandwiches. There made hot or cold. And if you have a chance stop by
Great community market. They have a lot of European candys and sweets that arent widely available
They have some of what youd find at a market, but they dont accept EBT cards.
They have such delicious and low cost sandwiches here! Plus, theyre big and filling. A great place for lunch.
Fresh food. Great prices. Expert sandwich makers: Reed and Maria.
Good stock of some british basics
Great spot for staple items or things you may have forgotten on your regular grocery run
Best locals only sandwich place.
A bit expensive, but you can find most things. They have a good selection of wines at reasonable prices. And their deli sandwiches are very tasty, too, and not too expensive, either.
Great grocery store where you can buy fresh sandwiches to go. We really like their selection of foods from Ireland. its a great neighborhood market with just the right mix of what you need. We really like Roxie Market & Deli.
Great old Irish corner store, a little of everything you may need, see Reed in the deliFor a sandwich, or some potato salad like Grandma used to make, they also have a meat market in the back, if your due for a nice little strip steak. Take a minute to look around, you may be surprised what you find.
Hands down one of the best sandwich spots in SF, if not the best. I started coming here 6 years ago, and Ive never been disappointed. Cash is the best option, but its awesome because its also a liquor store so you have other options to join your sandwich :)
Great place for quality sandwiches. Reasonable prices and friendly staff.
I only go for the irish snacks be careful of the dates some of the stuff is out of date
Good place to get English back bacon and sausages, good choice of English condinments as well 👍🏼
Theses guys rock! Awesome sandwiches! One will do two people.
I stayed in an Air b&b a few blocks from Roxies. Although it is a little place, I was able to buy some good wine there for myself and son. It was so convenient to have a store nearby. I stopped there almost every day!!!
My neighborhood convenience store. Prices are more expensive than andronicos, but being a SF native, I like to support the smaller businesses. Staff is always helpful and friendly. They even know my name! Shop here!
Great place for Irish groceries. Convenient, some on street parking. Nice selection of tea and candy.
Ive been shopping here for almost 6 years. The staff are friendly and helpful. The prices are a bit high but I enjoy going there to see the staff.
Lucky neighborhood find--a corner store with flowers, fruit and veg but also meat and cheese counters, a great selection of drinks and an improbable spread of British and Irish treats. Make sure to peep the best before dates on more exotic items, though Marmite cant really go off, can it?
Overpriced. Also, it seems like they charge more than the listed prices.
Used to be better. I do love the imports, but it has become so expensive.
Neighbor family feel to it. Has a variety of unique food options. Adult beverages, fresh produce and ready made sandwiches and Mexican food.
Very convenient little market with produce and meat! They also carry a bunch of great food and candy from the UK!
Man best sandwiches in Northern calif
Not so much a small grocers as an overpriced convenience store that happens to sell fresh vegetables, fruit, and a couple decent deli products. Expect to pay nearly double what you would in an actual grocery store for most items. Dont bother unless convenience is more important to you than price.
This store has really gone downhill since I moved two blocks away, 3 years ago. The produce is ridiculously over priced(for example: Ive seen the same exact blueberries they charge 5.99 for going for 1.49 at other stores) and the grocery is consistently 10%-50% higher priced than anywhere else. I understand mark up for convenience but their prices are simply outrageous. Customer service is sub-par at best. I have had to wait several minutes to even see an employee at the register on multiple occasions. I avoid going to this store and only do so as a last resort.
Does the trick for some hard to find Irish treats like breakfast links and chocolate flakes and more. Great beer and wine choices. I dont live beside it but would say it has the neighborhood store essentials.
Everything you could really want in a local corner store, great staff AND 15-minute parking spots.
They make great sandwiches and have quite a large space with some unique items.
Good British foods section and sandwich shop in a neighborhood-size grocery store.
Great place for Irish and UK imports at fair pricing wide selection of frozen meat products and bread also has Irish brown bread mixes
Nice, clean, friendly little market.
Best sandwiches weve had in SF
Come here for their sandwiches alone! Typical inventory youd expect from a corner market. Good selection but not large
Expensive and poor customer service. Stay away
Good deli. They always carry plenty of Irish produce. A little pricier than other places.
Hi quality love the Irish food and candy. Good wine selection.
Nice neighborhood market with a very good selection of items from the UK (including but not limited to, many a sweets). The prices, however, are outrageously high. So if you’re looking for a bargain, well, unlikely you’ll find one here.
Big selection! Super nice boy working at the cash register.
I love their deli. Its fresh and portions are very generous.
Great selection of beer and chips. Also a good deli with friendly help.
This place is a little gem of the sunset. The locals know that its the best place to get a sub sandwich (closely followed by The Yellow Submarine), and its a legitmate grocery store although at tad expensive. My favorite part thought is its selection of imported British food, being a Brit myself. Ive searched the city and it has the best selection in the city, tucked away on 9th and Kirkham. The staff are always helpful and it has the feel of a neighborhood staple.
Lots of British items to chose from. This little grocery store has a great made to order menu.
Great if your British or Irish and are looking for some food products from back home. They have most of the good stuff, tayto, twirls, fig rolls, Irish pork, bread etc. I assume its ridiculously expensive to import food from Ireland to us, hence the expensive price tags in the store.
Great sandwiches, drink/alcohol selection, great array of meat and ready-to-cook items. All but one staff member are at least nice, several are extremely friendly.
Pros: Convenient location, good selection of UK treats, non-chain. Cons: high prices, mediocre selection of most products, stuff often close to expiration.
Great place to get Irish goods. They also have everything you need from a grocery store.
All the goodies you had in Ireland can be found here..if you can stand the smell
Awesome deli. If you want English chocolate, tea or biscuits this is the place for you ...
Great neighborhood grocery store, with good selection of Irish and English goods as well
I love coming to Roxies to pick up a freshly made sandwich before going to golden gate park. The staff are super friendly and helpful.
British and Irish specialty comfort foods (imported with understandable mark up) + a solid deli, sandwich counter on weekdays, and a wild array of booze.
The Irish breakfast sandwiche is great and the only place I know to get HP Sauce
Great little family run market! Has organic eggs, produce, products plus a deli and fresh cut flowers!
I have been a regular customer at Roxie’s for over 5 years and I generally have a great experience when shopping there. Recently a younger cashier has been extremely rude and blatantly offensive to me whenever I encounter him. My friends and I came in for a bottle of liquor and he asked us all if we where on drugs and made the gesture of a person shooting up heroin to us and laughed. We all found this rude, condescending, and completely un-neccesary. Especially given that this employee appears to be no older then 18 years old (we are all in our 30s). Since this incident I have encountered him 3 times. He was very short with me every time and never says please or thank you even though I’m nothing but polite every time. I really hope this absurd behavior is corrected or I will walk the one extra block down to Judah for all of my needs.
Its a small neighborhood grocery store for those items that you forgot to buy, or need in emergency. The owners a straightforward guy.
Clean convenience store / grocers with a good selection of packaged goods and meat.
Good folks that make it happen
Great beer and liquor selection. Quick stop for groceries.
Use to be a great corner market. Seems to be little more than a liquor store (with deli counter) and poorly run. Expect a long line and inattentive staff.
Good selection of staples. Also has the best music.
Nice store that makes sandwiches to goFriendly staff
Got the best fresh made sandwiches, and decently priced.
They make great sandwiches at reasonable priceI like to stop on my way to work & pick upSandwich for lunch great food great service
Great deli sandwiches for lunch but get there early because there can be a line.
Convenient corner store with nice people.
Great sandwiches stacked perfectly with all ingredients in each bite!
Irish products, MONSTER MUNCH is a fave from my younger years
Sub sandwiches and fresh meat products are the most reasonably-priced items in the store. All pre-packaged foods are extremely overpriced. Staff is kind of zombie-like, but overall the store is clean. Id prefer to see a more organized front-end, which is currently a hodge-podge of stacked products. Just moved to neighborhood, but honestly will walk a little further to Han Ming market for a quick snack/beverage.
Pretty big selection for a corner store. A little on the sketchy/dirty side and high prices, but better than most such stores.
Small store. Limited selection, good deli
A completely different experience, quality, and amount of available options than the other Roxies Deli on San Jose Ave. Do yourself a big favor and go to the good Roxies Deli (not this one)!
Kind of rude at least some of them are, the other half are nice and helpful. No restroom in the place its broken apparently, yet one of the workers went to the restroom.
The best sandwiches in the city and very reasonable
Good selection of vegetables and fruits.
Great sandwiches. Groceries are overpriced and the produce is often lousy, but the location is convenient if you just need to grab a couple things.
Roxies Market is like my second home. I go there everyday and they have the absolute best sub sandwiches!!!!
Good for a quick shop. Expensive-ish but good quick dinners with proper food for about $5.
Very generous deli, huge tasty sandwiches.
Has most things, but its usually only one or two brands & costs $$
Fantastic selection of my favorite foods
Straight up best coffee in the UCSF area!
