Its a pleasant surprise. We were doing the Cross Town hike and stopped on Irving St for lunch. We saw this shop before getting back on the trail and decided to do what a tourist would do. Its a cute store with very affordable price for snakes. If you have allergies with MSG, check the labels before buying.

Sweetest little store with a lovely selection of housewares, foods, snacks, clothes, and other things from all over the world (with an emphasis on Japan). I will definitely be back!

A favorite neighborhood shop. This Japanese couple are hard-working and so very kind. I always find something I need or want. From hard candies, rice toppings, a re-usable bag they are a small business I am so happy to support.

Lots of random Japanese import stuff and other bits and bobs. Small food section. The only place Ive found a particular sized chopstick I use ALL the time. Very sweet owners.

Great place to shop for Japanese pantry items, like Dashi stock, curry cubes, Kewpie Mayo, Sesame seed dressing, etc. I used to go to Japantown, but it’d get so crowded for basic items that I stopped going. Now I’m happy to have a local, low key place to get my basics! :)

Adorable store selling Japanese food items and gifts including green tea Kit Kat’s! They also carry Kauai kookies which is dangerous for me. The owner/staff is really nice, too.

The owner has made and given away over 500 masks during the pandemic. She refused to take any money for the masks when I inquired about one today. This store is amazing and the owner is so kind. I urge people to help support this local business!

Very nice little Japanese discount store with so many toys, gifts and snacks. Always a good experience when Im in the area. The owner is very friendly too. I bought chopsticks in my last visit.

Great neighborhood store for my Japanese products I need.

Sakura is a gem in the area. They sell japanese gifts/goods as well as traditional japanese snacks and ingredients. If you are looking for kitkats or snacks you miss from japan, come here. They also sell instant ramen, mochi, specialty sauces and nori. The owners are the sweetest, a lot of the bags you see around the store are hand made by the owner.

Cute little Japanese gift and snack shop. I have found a number of things that I had while on vacation, here in the store. Highly recommend if you want cute little candies or chocolates from Japan. Also the staff is always friendly.

This is my break time pleasure spot when I am working in the city. The owners are sweeties. They carry beautiful felted pieces from Nepal, art from Japan, luxurious fabrics, snacks, gift products from Japan and Asia as well. Surprisingly inexpensive prices as well, especially considering how steep the rent for the shop space must be. The only drawback is the lack of parking. You have to try and locate a city metered spot, good luck there.

Fun items, nice shopkeepers. Lots of food and such, but we go for the adorable kiddo items.

I have always been happy that this tiny store has a random selection of Japanese goods. The best part is the refrigerator near the back in my opinion. It has milk teas, Japanese desserts (ICE CREAM), and noodle bentos. The pricing is cheap and they take credit card as long as you total over $5.

This store is very cool and is centered around being a japanese convenience store but still has something for everybody. The owners are incredibly nice and welcoming. Has some good Ramen selections if you like Ramen:))

They have the salt free/msg free dashi stock and kombu stock I like. Also they carry cute Japanese durable goods on top of the food. Its a little store, but they have a good assortment of things.
