Super enjoyed both of my flavors! The saffron ginger hit the spot in a way ice cream rarely does. Like you get that really nice zest from the ginger and the saffron give it a little bit of an exotic twist. Plus you know that it’s organic so it’s better for the environment and your body AND that the flavors are pure and the best that nature has to offer.

Was on a biking adventure zipping up Valencia street when I see an extremely catchy sign: $1.99 Organic Frozen Yogurt. Wowzers; how could anything worth having in the Mission be sold for that little?!The next time I was wandering around in the area following a wonderful meal at a nearby Vietnamese restaurant, I mentioned what I had seen the other day. She was equally stoked regarding the affordability (note: starting at $1.50 for a child-size scoop in a cone if you pay in cash) & local feel of the place and so we gave it a shot. After trying a decent amount of flavors (brown sugar banana banana, roasted almond, matcha), she decided that brown sugar banana chip was superior, whereas I fell for the caramel toffee. We both went for a two-flavor split single cup - she went for a small scoop of brown sugar banana chip atop a scoop of Tahitian coconut vanilla, while I went for a small scoop of caramel toffee atop a scoop of brown sugar banana chip (3ish bucks). We enjoyed the ice cream and banter on the super-cool wooden bench/table combo that faces the main window. The scene was peaceful, and reminded me of The Yogurt Pump (YoPo) in Chapel Hill, which is held dearly close to my heart. This place is amazing. I would hardly consider going anywhere else - with exception of Bi-Rite - in the area, because the quality of the ice cream is so good here and at such an affordable price point. This very well may be my favorite ice cream shop in The Mission, San Francisco, even Bay Area!

The worst of SF. Owners decided to block a competing ice cream shop by having their friends object to it and muck up the process. I can’t think of anything more un-American than that. Stay far away from Xanath!

Got the Tiramisu chimney cake. It wasnt too sweet because of the coffee powder! The two really balanced each other perfectly. It was a bit overwhelming because of the size, but still yummy! You definitely have to try this place out at least once--kinda like Din Tai Fung. They do make their chimney cakes per order so unfortunately, your ice cream does melt...

They may not look as hip as Smitten OR have unique flavors like bi-rite and humphry slocombe but their ice cream got quality! They arent overloaded with sugar. Personal favorite is FIG...cause there is no sugar added in it! Its creamy and sweet with no artificial sugar...double win!

Favorite ice cream place in sf. the flavors are all a better version of what they usually are -- the cookies n cream _really_ tastes like milk and cookies, ditto the matcha, etc. my favorite is the saffron and the saffron ginger flavors. $3.5 for a small cup and I think $8 or $9 for a pint. the vibe is great also - cute ice cream cone shaped bike racks outside, and kitsch (in a good way) party lights inside.

The Saffron ice-cream here is really good! However, the name of the store Xanath always reminds me of Xanthan Gum and gives me the impression that their ice-cream may be made with additives. On the contrary, the actual ice-cream and spices they sell are all organic and without any artificial flavors. I would have tried this place a lot sooner if I had known that they have such high quality saffron ice-cream! (and, if it was named better)

Such a random little location for an ice cream shop. It fits in perfectly with the vibe and flow of the Mission on Valencia street. I just wish more people new about it - instead I feel as if most people are unaware of its existence and just continue walking by.The ice cream is good. I wouldnt say its the best Ive ever had and with tough competitors in the field located just a few blocks away, its hard to compete. This is a nice little spot to wet your mouth after wandering back from a nice dinner somewhere along the way.

Saffron ice cream is the flavor to get here. Intensely scented and the rich custard yellow is awesome. I prefer the one with a ginger bump, but if its your virginal cruise to Xanath, opt for the pure. Also try their different types of vanilla. The fruit flavors here are a little too dense (especially mango), but in general, solid ice cream that rivals Bi Rite for the crown. Persimmon or fig are also good calls.Never really a line!
