Honestly I would give them 6 stars if I could. We live around the corner and come here every few weeks and I am always amazed by how delicious their pastries are (especially the cream puffs!). The folks who work there are also just the nicest people you’ll meet. Highly recommended!!

For a place called Choux and predominantly selling Choux (ie cream puffs), I believe it is essential to master the choux pastry itself.However it isnt the case which is unfortunate because their choice of flavors is nice and the different creams used as filling taste good but the choux pastry itself is not nice. Its too thick and a bite cake like which is certainly not how choux are supposed to be.

I’m a big dessert person. And hubs surprised me with a box of 12 choux for my birthday.Boxing was adorable. The choux were soft and the filling was creamy and flavorful without being overly sweet. Some favorites were the cookies and cream and coffee. Hubs also got some pate de fruit which I recommend passing as they weren’t as flavorful.Will have to go in person next time!

Choux . Mon petit choux! I like me a good creme puff. Ask my Gramma. But Dina, @ChouX turns a creme puff into a work of art-- both for your eyes and your taste buds. The raspberry puff tasted delicious with just enough raspberry to make you want more. I was lucky enough to say that I have enough sass to be a creme puff fanatic so Dina asked me to choose another. I chose the lime and the coconut, albeit a good pun, I refuse to shake it all up. But I will say, this puff was subLIME. (gotcha). I am not a fan of key lime pie, I am a total lemon meringue pie 100pct, but this puff made me me a fan. Dina has got a fan for life. Hey, Dina! Make me up a sample platter please. Cause you know, I want to try them all. Throw me some sass.

I really want to love Choux. I’ve been a few times over the past few years, but my last two experiences really were a let down. Choux is a small bakery in San Francisco with a single storefront. They specialize in “choux au craquelin”, but also offer other pastries and pâte de fruits.The cream puffs are unique. The flavors are fairly traditional. They offer a lot of filling. Compared to competitors Choux does not fill to order. My cream puffs tasted great the same day purchased. But the morning after they were soggy and lacked the same depth of flavor. The price is high for what you get. If they were the same price and 50% bigger I’d be happy.My biggest complaint is the service. Over the past few months during the pandemic I stopped in as their door was open, social media said open, and website said open. When I asked one of the workers if I could order they said they were closed. Mind you it was midday. When I reached out online, they told me they are only open for a few hours on the weekend.My most recent visit last week the store front looked disheveled and a mess. They are not allowing employees to walk inside. Though mind you going inside would only be a couple feet until you reached a counter. The display looked nothing like the pictures. Cream puffs were tossed on a sheet pan and put into the display case. Looking around the bakery it looked disorganized. Yes, it’s a working bakery, but even working bakeries can be clean.The service was mediocre. I asked what flavors they had today. And was told “lemon, chocolate, vanilla, pistachio”. No descriptive words, no “with a candied hazelnut garnish”, and no mention of anything they were making that would be out soon. When asked about pate a fruits she pulled down a glass jar that was hidden away and said “oh yeah I guess we have these”. No label, no date, no sticker on the bag, etc. I ended up ordering a couple cream puffs. The cashier seemed out off since I wouldn’t but 4 so they wouldn’t move in the box.I just don’t think Choux cares.

I strongly recommend you to stop by Choux and its delicious french cream puffs (specialty of the bakery) and the other pastries.I ate their pecan pie last Thanksgiving and it was probably one of the best dessert I ever had !!

Lovely gift to family, everyone loved the cream puffs. It was also well-packaged and arrived perfectly after an hour drive.

If you like cream puffs you should definitely stop by this place, multiple times. As soon as you arrive at this little shop you greeted with a big smile and friendliness by their front person which will patiently help you with questions and which flavor to decide, because they all look so delicious. The lemon and hazelnut were my favorites, and the passion fruit is the perfect seasonal!

This place is adorable, we stop by to get some goodies for our wonderfull teachers and the Owner ( sorry didnt get her name) helped us choose tha flavot and she also added a special thanks not on the cream puffs . She went beyond what I expected. Will deffinity come back. Thank you

Remarkably good pastries, some of the best in recent memory. Theres a good amount of variety here between the brioches, cream puffs, and other pastries. All of them were best in class.Cinnamon buns are just about perfect. Cream cheese icing and excellent texture.

Really cute store with lots of unique flavors and classics alike. I had the raspberry dessert(? tart?) and it wasnt too sweet and very tasty. Its a dine out place but there are two parks very close by. The staff is very friendly and helpful!

Their cream puffs were delicious. The lemon meringue was lovely and tart, the chocolate was rich and tasty, and they had gluten-free cream puff shells which was really helpful for my wife. Helpful and friendly service, and easy to order and take away safely in these pandemic times. We will wonder by again sometime soon to try some more flavors

On weekends, they have extra pastries they make - and I’m SO glad I stopped for a coconut chocolate brioche! I’ve lived near Choux for two years and finally stopped by for a treat. Worth it 100%

This is a small bakery nestled in Lower Haight. So if you dont live in the neighborhood or drive, its going to be a bit of a journey to get here (walking or public transportation). There is no seating inside and not much place to stand - its literally an order and go kind of establishment.A Choux (shoo) is like the cream puff version of a French macaron. Its dense in flavor and goes great with your morning tea or coffee. Its not like Beard Papas... well maybe the crunchy exterior is similar.I ordered a box of 4 Choux ($11) - 1 regular and 3 seasonal flavors.Hazelnut (regular flavor) - tasted like hazelnut and was pretty good.Candy apple (seasonal) - did taste like the candy apple lollipop. The top part is like a crunchy hard candy which was a pleasant surprise. I was really impressed with the presentation and design.Peanut butter chocolate cream puff (seasonal) - fell a little short for me. I ate this one a few hours after I left the bakery, and when I tried it, I noticed it was a little sour. I dont know if thats how they make it or if time played a factor. I also didnt like the thickness of the peanut butter cream but thats just a personal preference.Pumpkin (seasonal) - really good! I usually dont like pumpkin flavored desserts but this is the exception.I came around 3-4 PM, and most of their flavors were sold out. So I would advise to come earlier in the day. The variety wasnt as colorful as I expected (their Instagram had some blue, green, or purple toppings). So I guess those were just seasonal flavors. Nevertheless, the craftsmanship and design of each Choux is so creative that I think you should at least experience it once! Will be back for the more colorful, seasonal flavors like honey lavender.

I actually called Choux with a few questions and they could not have been kinder or more helpful on the phone. I was shocked by exactly how fast the order arrived after I submitted it. Best cream puffs ever!! So much flavor and very light.I’ve ordered them many times for my office but today, I messed up the DATE and address. I swear I was lucid when I was making this order.I wish I got the name of the woman who answered because she was so sweet and helpful. She’s sending us the correct order today instead of tomorrow and was so sweet to me even though all of this was my fault!Love Choux, always have but this customer service made me write a review. They are rockstars.Thank you again!!

If you want some pastries you can only make an order the next Friday/Saturday which is not really convenient. Pastries are tasty.

Very cute shop with flavored cream puffs. They had several seasonal Fall flavors, I had to pick the Candy Apple cream puff. So glad I did because the crunchy shell and apple filling was delicious. I will definitely be back to try another flavor.

The cronut is one of the most amazing things I have ever eaten. I got the passion fruit with chocolate The lemon and salted caramel cream puffs with also tasty. I love how all the fillings are so well flavoured.

A friend brought me a few of these amazing bit sized desserts. I was taken aback by how beautiful these little treats were. Perfectly prepared. They texture and taste did not disappoint either. Unfortunately I cant comment on the actual location as I have not been there, but the product itself is worth seeking out!

The lemon was delicious and the pistachio was perfectly balanced. The other flavors were tasty as well. I really liked the pastry to cream ratio.

This cute little neighborhood bakery has some of the best cream puffs in town. They are European inspired. Not too sweet but just right - it hits the spot. Love the vibes of this place and the friendly service.

So good! I bought a six pack of puffs to share. Next time Ill get six for my-greedy-self and six to share. Exquisite presentation, beautiful to look at, delicious creams and a slight crisp to the outside. Very well done. Ill be back the next time Im in town.

Cute little bake shop on Fillmore that sells delicious sweets. They are a little pricey considering youre buying these little bite-sized treats, but at least they come in a nice box when you get 6 (they have fun words on the bottom) and they have rotating flavors! They now have choux donuts too.

Im a big fan of purple sweet potato so this place definitely caught my attention! This is a really cute place to grab dessert if your in the area. I ordered the purple bingsoo & ice cream and they were worth the hype. I came on a Sunday afternoon & this place was packed & I can see why. Im giving them 4 stars because we waited 30 mins for our order & when I asked why it was taking so long, they said they forgot about our order? But other than that, the dessert & ambiance in this cafe is good.
