Edit: customer service was able to resolve this after a few days. Be sure to take photos of the DFS packing job in case you find yourself in the same situation.Original review: I lost over $100 because the person who worked there didn’t package my scotch properly. CATSA wouldn’t allow it through for a connecting flight. Do your research to find out the requirements of your destination (Canada in my case) because apparently you can’t trust DFS to do their job.

We bought 4 cosmetic products from this expensive store just before COVID-19. Then my wife didnt want to use 2 of them and never open them. Since they closed the store after the pandemic, they didnt accept our return! They didnt even answer our emails! Though they used to say we do accept returns anytime! Biggest regret!

Duty Free shops at San Francisco Airport are many selling variety of items. Gheradeli Chocolates are the main attractions.at most of the shops. Wine, cosmetics, perfumes, ladies handbags, mementos of San Francisco, like Golden Gate Bridge, etc are available without payment of the Duty. The goods purchased are delivered to the passenger at the entry point of the aircraft to ensure that the goods purchased are not used or consumed locally.

I had a delayed flight by few hours and decided to go buy alcohol and candy. I was refused an alcohol purchase for the reason of the original flight departure time being less than an hour away. Person behind the counter spoke pour English. Verified plane departure against printed page (!). I gave up trying to explain. Fine, used my CreditCard to buy candy (something did not work with her machine, was told that payment was refused (could not connect to the bank), and asked to do another transaction. I have asked to get a rejected payment receipt. Was told that in this case this particular machine does not issue anything. Came home and got credit card statement with 2 charges for the same thing (surprise!). The were plenty of other colleges she could have asked for an assistance and clarification if this was her first time. Clearly organization training and hiring process is to be improved... :(

Not that many shops, after security especially. I would suggest waiting to go through security if you have time to spare, there is more to do. But I saw there are openings a new area, so maybe it will get better in the future

I have shopped here twice a year for the past 15 years and always spend at least several hundred dollars each trip buying gifts, spirits and cosmetics. I have never had such poor service by the staff as I did the evening of my departure. Jin was the least bit interested in making me feel like a valued customer. I usually get gifts with my purchases as per your dfs emails you send me. Other staff at previous times were always kind, helpful and always happy to give me a gift when I spent over a certain amount in products, etc. Jin was dismissive and rude to me when I asked for the La Mer GWP as stated per email that was sent to me by DFS that week. She told me that my $800 spend was not enough. So I asked if she could make do with some other gwp of another brand and she said no and dismissed me as if I were a cheap customer and didn’t care that this experience was putting me off from shopping at the store again. I have decided after my experience that I will no longer shop at DFS San Francisco. When I told her that she has made me feel like I never want to shop at the store again she shrugged me off and said ‘Ok’. Hideous and disappointing customer service to people who help pay who pay her salary.

Both products I purchased here are faulty: 1) An expensive bottle of perfume with a broken cap resulting in perfume leaking everywhere; 2) a liquid eyeliner which came empty. You cant really hold them accountable as youre travelling through and likely wont be back anytime soon.

All Prices are rip-off!!You can see 40-50% cheaper tag on the official site of any product. Can you believe it?I strongly recommend you to use store in the city if you buy souvenirs such as See’s candies or GODIVA. I say again, price is very expensive.

Very disappointed, purchased Gucci Guilty Intense, a men’s cologne, when boarding flight the item was not at the gate, we complained and had to board, just before takeoff the duty free was delivered to the plane. On arrival in Australia, 15 hour flight, found that Gucci Guilty, a ladies perfume, had been substituted for the men’s version. The receipt supplied was not the original receipt it was a rerun, clearly the company lost our purchased item.

Useless. No one wants to help you find items or even take your sale. We had to chase down an Asian cosmetics lady to finalise our sale. This was a bad choice as she was super slow and argumentative. She claimed to not be able to sell us a dark rum due to an apparent new rule is Aus but when we checked customs website there was nothing to say this. All staff communicated to each other by yelling in Chinese across the store. While in the middle of your sale. Not a good experience at all I would not recommend going here but if you need to, know what you want first.

Because of there incompetence in not sealing my bag correctly, my purchase of a $50 bottle of Bourbon was confiscated by New Zealand customs. All duty free bags must be completely sealed, they did not. And as it turns out is wasnt that much cheaper than I could have bought at home at my local store. Very poor.

I have just had the total displeasure of being served by an Asian looking male cashier associate 3296 who was so rude. He also snatched my card off me whilst I was paying for my purchase. As the card was in the machine he reached over to select to pay in my home currency not USD. There exchange rate is appalling so I told him to cancel as I wanted to pay in USD.The other member of staff I encountered were also rude. You have no choice but to get your duty frees here and they know that hence the appalling service.

San Francisco Airport is located in the San Francisco Bay Area south of San Francisco and northwest of San Jose. I think its one of those airports where you can get used to it right away. Everything is well organized. The airport consists of four terminals and four runways. The terminals form a circle, to the south are Terminal 1 (Concourse B and C), to the east Terminal 2 (Concourse D), to the north Terminal 3 (Concourse E and F) and to the west the International Terminal (Concourse A and G), With the free AirTrain, red and blue line connects all important points of the airport, namely the terminals, the parking garages, the BART station and the Rental Car Center (Blue Line only) with each other. From the parking garage, where all Car Rentals have their cars, there is an autonomous shuttle train to the terminals.
