Flexport has been shipping products for me from overseas since 2015 and they are an awesome group to work with. They are efficient, helpful, caring and they get the shipment to where it is going safely, EVERY time! I have done many shipments over the past 3 years. When you sign on with Flexport you get a team that is with you and the shipment from the start of the process until the shipment reaches its final destination. I feel in excellent hands with my team. I recommend them and I plan on staying a Flexport customer.
Before Flexport I absolutely loathed dealing with freight forwarding. Since switching to Flexport more than a year ago its become one of the easiest and most efficient parts of my business. The industry has been crying out for something like Flexport that brings technology to the process of freight forwarding. I recommend them to everyone.
Flexport has been great to work with and have solved all of the logistical problems I had with my e-commerce business. They always respond quickly and answer my questions thoroughly. They are awesome at what they do and I plan to work with them for many years to come.
We had a couple very bad experiences using Flexport. For a business that talks about revolutionizing freight forwarding, their outcomes are far worse than traditional freight forwarders that we used in the past -- and who we continue to use.Each of our shipments with Flexport arrived at least 15 days late. Flexport also failed to properly update me on the status of our shipments. Rather than proactively correcting issues or offering options when things went off course, the customer service team was reactionary and made excuses. In one case, our products languished in warehouse in NY for 10 days -- even while their dashboard showed that the freight was on its way to California. I only found out that our goods missed their train to California a few days before they were expected to arrive. As a fast growing startup, this set us back dramatically, and it also influenced our customer experience.Freight forwarding is still a traditional business that requires relationships with good, well connected brokers and third party shippers, and boots on the ground. Flexport lacks these skills, relationships, and a physical presence. My recommendation is to stay away from Flexport and work with a traditional forwarder.
Being a complete newbie in the Logistics industry, I was so afraid of the mass knowledge out there and that I wasnt sure where to ask. My tech startup company has been Flexports partner for a couple of years and so I was relying heavily upon their guidance. Intercommunication is superb. Questions and concerns are taken care of in the matter of hours, or maximum days; and most importantly for me, its always simple and straightforward. Having worked with 2 teams, theyre all proactive and accommodating. I really like their work and genuinely glad to know that Flexport is growing.
For all the talk about revolutionizing shipping and being transparent this is not what I would expect. They say they will build a team of people to handle the shipment and you wont need to worry about it, but reality is that they need to be managed. They failed to process customs paperwork in a timely manner due last minute employe vacation leading to a delay in the shipment. More insulting is when one uploads there documents to the file system that are needed, they seem to continue to be deleted without warning. lastly there billing system is a mess. There is no transparency in there billing, always trying to squeeze more out of you even 30 days after you payed your bill. Was really looking forward to using this company for my multiple shipments each year, but was amassed at what a mess it has become.
Was looking forward to simplifying our incoming container/freight process with flexport and that did not happen. They tell you what you want to hear once you agree to do business then everything changes. There is no customer service, if you have a questions that you would like to speak to someone about you must schedule an appointment at their convenience which all reps we ever talked to were on east coast time. Billing charges were ridiculous. We showed our bill to our new current freight forward along with another company who has been shipping containers for 20+ years and they had never seen some of the charges flexport claimed to be standard. Not only are they now charging 30% more than other freight forwarders they shipped a container without our authorization. Would defiantly stay clear of this company, they are doing whatever they can to get as much money out of you.
Flexport is as good as it gets ! The team is responsive, knowledgable and friendly. They have immensely contributed to the success of my overseas shipments. Bravo ! They are professional in every sense and I would 150% recommended them to anyone wanting to bypass the DIY approach and take the fast and easy road to overseas shipping.
When they have a problem with a shipment they just stop answering and updating (for days or weeks...). Very bad service!
