Yummy! Ive been wanting to get here for a few months & finally made it. Gorgeous and so many wonderful flavors to choose from, theyre incredibly helpful & friendly. I cant wait to return. I adore the beautiful macaron tree. There are seasonal flavors that change and limited edition flavors in addition to the classic ones so be prepared to have a hard time narrowing your choices down.Such a treat!

This place is a tasty little gem. The store is brightly lit, showing off their treats in display counter. We came here and got a box of 12, they let you hand pick the flavors. I suggest buying only what you can eat in a couple of days and storing it in the frig. Allow them to come to room temperature before eating. I really like that they give you a flavor menu to go with your box. The people who run the store is super friendly. We cant wait to go back again.

Absolutely the most delicious Macarons in all of San Francisco. Their unique flavors are not overwhelming, but are delicate and flavorful, such as the Persian Rose and Earl Grey, which are both a must buy. In addition their traditional flavors are all perfectly executed. You might not find a better Pistachio in all of California.

There are only a handful of places Ive had a better macaroon but for SF this place takes the cake. I know a lot of fans will say that Miette Patisserie makes the best but wait till you try Chantal Guillon. The bright colors alone should bring you in but the brighter flavors will keep you coming back for more. A bit pricey if youre on a budget but the quality is well worth it. Buy a box and savor the flavors for as long as you can hold out.

I love coming here to find out what the limited edition or seasonal macaron that day is. In May, they have a Mothers Day edition which is strawberry and balsamic vinaigrette. It was not as refined and delicately flavored as I imagined it would be. I liked the lemon and poppy seed one. It was divine andgoes extremely well with an Ethiopian bean pour over coffee which enhances the blueberry notes of the Ethiopian coffee. You cant go wrong with passion fruit either.

One of my favorite macaron places in SF: the flavors are rich, on point, and the texture is pretty good.Ive tried the jasmine green tea, red velvet, and I think coconut and all were good. The green tea had the nice roasted flavor but was also light and refreshing. The red velvet had a nice chocolatey creme that was not overpowering. Coconut also had a nice toasted flavor but was also smooth.Overall, their macarons are well balanced, not too sweet, and they have a good variety of flavors sure to please dessert lovers!

I wanted to try this place because its a place I can indulge my sweet-tooth on something gluten-free. This shop is small, but passersby cannot help but stop in after seeing their fun window display (or my friend and I gorging on macarons and sipping on tea in the seating area outside was just that convincing).Dont call them macaroons or youll be quickly corrected. Chantal Guillon has a wide variety of flavors to choose from in all different colors. They are light, creamy, and chewy in texture and so rich and full of flavor. Some may be too sweet for those who dont have much of a sweet tooth.Notables:1. Persian Rose - This was absolutely lovely. It almost verges on being too sweet, but isnt. My girlishness blossomed with this one.2. Almond Amaretto - So complex! It isnt just one flavor. From the moment it hits your tongue, the flavor just evolves and changes as it melts in your mouth. Absolutely delicious.3. Red Velvet - Tastes JUST like red velvet cake in a nice bite-size.4. Country Strawberry - Like having a bite of strawberry jam. And I love the little decoration touch of the green leaves to make it look like a strawberry. Very cute.

Fancy pants! I cant quite believe that a store that sells pretty much exclusively fancy egg white desserts can be so successful, but, here it is. The macarons are exquisite, and they had 15 flavors when we went. I wanted to try them all, but the fairly steep price tag prevented that. It would be hard to resist going in walking by on an afternoon -- the store displays and interior are delightful. It was our first time trying these macarons and we love the texture, the unique flavors (raspberry rose lychee! coconut chocolate!) as well as the more traditional flavors such as green tea, red velvet, and almond vanilla. Our experience was immeasurably enhanced by the warmth of the staff, especially William and Jenny.William gave us a mini lesson, as to why and how their macarons excel in quality and taste from others, how their filling is a chocolate based, versus the more commonly used (less expensive) cream-based, that they use Varrhona chocolate (the same chocolate used by Tartine), and a host of other interesting tidbits that reflect their high standards.Jenny introduced us to their Howard stores state of the art kitchen, and to the various pastries available at that location.A big thank you to the owner Guillaume, and to William and Jenny for their warmth and hospitality on Sunday. We are forever your fans.

This particular Chantal Guillon is located on Hayes Street in a very nice and high-end neighborhood. The restaurants and stores nearby all look very upscale. Theres also a really nice park a block away, where when I went, featured a wooden structure made of popsicle sticks or something. Stepping into the macaron store, you can pretty much expect the macarons to be on the pricey side. Surrounded by four white walls with their signature Chantal Guillon sprawled in script on the wall, the macarons are the center of attention. There are a few tables and chairs located by the big window, but most people come in, buy their macarons, and are on their way within minutes. Obviously its not a hard choice, but for me - I have a difficult time figuring out whether or not I want a box or single macarons, and which flavors I should choose.I ended up getting a box of six ($12.50) and 3 more individual macarons ($2.15 each). Price point is okay; if you buy a box of six, each macaron is about $2.08.Seasonal flavors:Strawberry: I really liked this flavor - very fresh and I liked the brightness of the red shell that contrasted with the white flecks on the outside of the shell. It had a good solid flavor that didnt taste artificial.Lemon poppy seed: I thought having the poppy seed would make the macaron taste a bit different, but it was basically a lemon macaron with poppy seeds on the shell. This was a bit more sour than Bottega Louies lemon macaron, which is my favorite lemon one out of all the places Ive tried.Regular flavors:Salted Caramel: Super pretty with gold dusk sprinkled on top. This was one of my favorites! Classic salted caramel with good flavor. Youre able to taste the salted caramel, but it wasnt too sweet or salty. The macaron is chewier than the others due to the caramel filling, which wasnt too melty (like Lettes where it causes the filling to melt before its even eaten). I would absolutely recommend this flavor if youre a fan of caramel.Tahitian Vanilla: Classic vanilla. Not too unique. If youre a fan of vanilla, youd probably like this one.Almond Amaretto: Decent. It was pretty light. My favorite almond macaron is still from Lette. This one didnt have the sweetness that I craved and had a more nutty flavor.Jasmin Green Tea: This was recommended by the girl helping me. I expected it to taste more floral than sweet, but it was a lot sweeter. I probably wouldnt order this again. The one at Caffe Concerto is slightly better.Persian Rose: Had a very light floral rose taste, which I liked. This was one of my favorites as well. Not too overwhelming and was really refreshing.Passion Fruit: Had the perfect amount of passion fruit flavor to this macaron. If youre into the more tangy macaron flavors, this is perfect for you.Raspberry, Lychee & Rose: This was another really good one. I was intrigued by the lychee and rose in the macaron, and didnt know how all three would taste. I thought it was pretty good! Slightly more sour due to the raspberry and lychee than the Persian Rose. I would recommend this just because the flavors are more unique than other macaron flavors.Overall, I thought the macarons here were above average compared to the other macaron places Ive been to. It had the perfect crispy shell, but upon biting into it, provided a chewy bite. I ate a few macarons when they were fresh, and had the remaining ones a day later and they were still really good.tl;dr - Definitely a macaron place I would recommend if youre in the SF area. The price point is decent. Service was okay - I felt a bit pressured to hurry and order while I was still looking at the macarons (and taking pictures of them) because I was asked several times by the girl behind the counter if I was ready. She stood there staring at me, which inclined me to hurry and order. I would order the salted caramel, rose, strawberry, and raspberry lychee & rose again.

Greeted with pastel colors, white painted walls, and dainty looking-beautifully arragned--macarons inside a glass display case is exactly what youll find and more when inside this Hayes Valley macarons shop. Once inside, youll feel like youve been transported to some quaint pastry shop in Paris: the male server who helped me select my macarons had a heavy French accent and was kind in making flavor suggestions. I only ordered the Almond Amaretto and the Italian Pistacchio flavors; and, found that these macarons are cant be beat! They are the best tasting macarons. I loved, loved, loved the texture and taste of the Almond one and have declared it to be my favorite dessert thing to my husband. *hint *hint Oh, and, theres another SF location that will be opening up soon...I forgot where exactly...

If you are a fan of Mariage Freres wonderful teas, you know how difficult it is to find their teas either online or in stores; I make a trip to Dean & Deluca every time Im in New York to replenish my stock. Well, Chantal Guillon puts D&Ds selection to shame: Chantal shop carries atleast two dozen of Mariage Freres teas, in both the satchel and loose leaf tins. The prices are very in line with how much Mariage Freres goes elsewhere, about $20 a package. The shop was very helpful and clearly knowledgeable about the teas (and understandably proud of their selection.) I happily floated out of the store with a tin of Rouge Bourbon tea and four macarons in hand - I could have easily bought more of each!

Every time I eat a CG macaron, I feel like Im in heaven! The macarons are spot on and probably some of the best Ive EVER had. Mind you, Ive never been to Laduree or anything... Nonetheless, these small little things are dangerously delicious!Yes, a bit pricey as each macaron run about $1.75 for a small macaron, but totally worth it! Each macaron has bold flavors and right about of sweetness. CG perfects the contrast between the crispiness of the cookie shell, chewiness of the cookie, and creaminess of the ganache - such dynamic sensation! I really enjoyed the pistachio and salted caramel. But Im pretty sure that all their flavors will taste equally wonderful!Cant wait to try more! :)
