For those of you who have been to an Amazon Go store, you know how awesome and cool it is to shop in there. So I wont say more about that. But this one in particular is interesting, because for a photographer like me, its the best place to capture a nice shot of the steep streets (California St) in SF with cable cars. Youll need an SLR and zoom lens though...

I didn’t realize what this was until I was inside. Scanned my QR code grabbed some drinks, snacks, and a bag and walked out. I was billed for everything I took, and was given a very creepy summary of how long I was in the store. 3 min 54 seconds, I was impressed with how quick the whole process was when I didn’t have to wait in line at a register, just walk out.

Interesting experience. Download the amazon go or shopping apps and add your amazon prime account to it in order to participate. In order to enter scan in the qr code. Only one person works the store. You basically have to pick items off the shelf and put them in a bag or your pockets. The app explains no one can take them off the shelves for you or it wont add it to your digital cart successfully. The store has sensors and cameras to see which customer bought what product. It has decent prices for water and deli/lunch products. There are stationary items but mostly food. No toiletry or over thr counter medicines. Finally, paper bags are 10 cents and fabric bags are 99 cents. When you leave the gates the digital cart completes the transaction.

Important to know that this store is Located within the Embarcadero #3 building near Drumm Street. The store requires a separate Amazon Go app connected to your Credit Card. The store was really empty when arrived. The food items are very limited and is so identical to 7-11. The store is clean, roomy, and small. The store had 1 representative assistant when i visited. The Embarcadero location has no parking but a garage is a block away. The store is closed Saturday and Sunday.

I went to there at 12:30 PM on Wednesday. Since here is new and its lunch time, so many people were there. I joined the line, and probably almost 50 people were there before me. However, I just waited 10 min. Its because we dont need to checkout here. Its an essential advantage here. I thought no cashier might be no stress, and its really is!! I bought a cupcake and a bottled cold tea, and go outside. Everything was smooth. Also, the staff member told me this Amazon Go is the biggest one. They sell many things such as ready to eat lunch box, snacks, groceries, and souvenirs with Amazon Go logo. When I finished shopping there, Amazon sent me a receipt to my Amazon Go app. When you go there, my recommendation is download app before go!!

Simple and easy shopping! Theres no checkout line or cashiers, so the biggest bottleneck I usually face when getting groceries or food (the checkout part) is gone, and I simply walked out! It was a fun and novel experience. It is reminiscent of Whole Foods, where all the items are displayed neatly in quaint little shelves and the decor is pleasing to the eyes. I could go in, grab a snack, pop it in my pocket, and leave, all in under a minute!

Great concept with awesome implementation! I feel that they have an amazing idea where people can just walk in and take some stuff and leave without the hassle of standing at counters to pay for the bill. This is working very effectively. I was surprised to see that there is an area where you can sit and have lunch inside as well.

The staff here is very helpful and will help you with anything you need while you are here. A friend broke a mug when he left and they gave him a full refund. I hope these come to more cities.

Amazon Go Store in the city of San Francisco California . How does this store work? Simple have an amazon account? Great then just download the Amazon go app, walk in, take whatever you want off the shelves and walk out. No lines. It was easiest shopping experience EVER. Amazon even tells customers the amount of time you can save just going in & out and it’s amazing. It is a far better convenience store experience than anything else, anywhere in the world! Amazon has 6 Amazon Go store (as of the time of this review) Seattle, San Francisco, & Chicago. with plans to roll out 3000 plus by 2021.

A strange experience the first time shopping at the store. You feel like you are shop lifting as there is no cashier or pay station. You simply download the app, login, enter the store, choose what you want and then exit the store. It is like a combination between a 7-11, Trader Joe’s and what used to be Fresh and Easy. You find pretty much anything you want including many prepared meals.

Check it out at least once. It’s everything you heard about. All you need to do is download the Amazon Go app and use the QR code to enter. Upon exit you just walk out.The one thing you need to add your virtual cart is the shopping bags. Other than that, go wild and pick up things and put them back. One of my go-to things to get are the sous-vide steaks with garlic sauce and the goat cheese salad.

[If you only need a cold prepackaged meal and dont mind paying a premium, then bump the rating up to 4.]This is a modest convenience store that carries only prepackaged cold foods and a smattering of beverages and snacks. The no checkout, just walk out tech works. Not having to wait in line does make the experience slightly faster than Safeway (2 blocks away) or the many nearby to-go cafes/stores. Its new and cool, and will someday be a useful addition everywhere, but its just a modest improvement on the total experience. The food types, quality, and variety is comparable to Starbucks, Safeway, The Market, or Wholefoods cold cases. However the prices are HIGHER than any of those retailers. The store is attractive and clean. But the efficient stacking means you have to pull packages off the shelf to see their contents, which added time and effort to selection, and you must show an app ID to get in the store which also adds time.

So the thing definitely works. Thats the gist of the review.Amazon Go stores are trying to be a quick and convenient, convenience store. Which it definitely does (except on day one its crowded with all the curious people, including me lol). I went in around lunch time, and there were a lot of Amazon employees working the lines and the store with any questions you have / making people install the Go app (this IS required BTW), etc.The selection isnt large, obviously, but its good enough. Lots of prepackaged food (salads, sandwiches, etc) and a good amount of getting packed grocery items like chocolate (yep, first thing that came to my mind), soda, juices, health bars, milk, etc.As soon as you walk in, you use your Go app and scan the QR code at this QR code reader. After that its do whatever you want to, like you would in a convenience / grocery store. Pick up things, look at them, leave them back if you dont like them, or move it to your shopping cart or bag or whatever if you want them. And when youre done, walk out. A few minutes later, you get a receipt on your Go app.I was impressed by how well it worked overall. I picked up and examined various products, which I didnt end up taking with me. And in the end, I was charged only for the items that I took with me.Once the curiosity and novelty dies down a bit, this would be definitely be a super quick stop for a salad or sandwich or something around lunchtime, or for an energy bar in the afternoon or a chocolate bar whenever youre craving it (the answer to which is, always).

Kind of a gimmick... the fully automated convenience store isnt quite here yet, just because the understanding of having to pre-load/run the app before you enter is new to people. The selection and pricing inside isnt anything special either. It may be slightly better quality for a few things than the corner store, and a more appealing grab-and-go selection than, say, your local Target or CVS, but it still doesnt quite have that slick, futuristic appeal that is the idea.

More expensive than any store nearby. Food options are all in plastic, single serving everything. Amazon should be a leader in fresh food and compostable packaging, with Whole Foods under their umbrella, but this looks like a step up from 7/11.For a quick pick up lunch go to Proper Food - better food, better packaging, short wait. Convenient but very average lunch options . al the prepackaged lunch box are stacked tight on shleves which makes it hard to see inside without pulling each one you are in. Some box are really small for almost the same price as the bigger ones. They all well packaged but that does not make them very yummy necessarily. Finally the experience is very plain and neutral since there is no interaction. Some people will like the straightforward benefit, i miss the human touch and interaction. This location was a chain stationary office supplies store when it close, it was vacant for years. Amazon Go took over selling everything from pantry items to grab-and-go food things that you normally make in office with microwave. There are commercial grade and some organic stuff, but very limited. Clean and organized plenty of workers in orange either stocking or helping people. Camera throughout the place scan dotted code on items and track your habit. To get in, you must have (amazon go) app installed on phone (smartphone) link to your regular amazon account in good standing and personal info up-to-date. BYO shopping bag or get one of theirs for .99¢/paper .10¢ and simply walk through automatic gate when done and receipt will be on app before you ever take a step OTD. If you choose to eat-in theres counter seating with utensil/condiment station. Restroom code is 1234*, wheelchair accessible, assistance available. Happy shopping!

The future of grocery shopping has finally arrived and Amazon has freakin nailed it.Located near FiDi, Amazon Go is right on the corner of Battery & California St.To enter Amazon Go you need to have the Amazon Go app downloaded on your iOS or Android phone. Log into your account and youll have a personalized QR code to scan at the entrance. One you scan your barcode the doors automatically open like magic! You will immediately notice that the store is pretty small, its a great little grocery store to pickup some snacks, quick pre-made meals, ice cream, and single beverages. You can easily see what items are available at the store before even heading over by looking at the Amazon Go app from home. Just make sure youre looking at the correct store location. When you pick up an item, sensors and smart cameras installed all over the store can see and detect what you have in your hands. When you grab it, it is automatically added to your invisible shopping cart. If you put the item back on the shelf, Amazons magical smart sensors know it and take it off your shopping cart instantly. Neat, huh! There are bags you can purchase if you choose not to carry your items in your hand on the way out.I was still scared to walk out at first without swiping my credit card on a computer or speaking to a human and Im sure a lot of people are because of how different this shopping experience is so Amazon does have a person at the Entrance/Exit to greet you and answer any questions. I asked, do I just go? and yep! The Amazon representative said thats it! Now GTFO! ;)A few minutes after leaving youll have your receipt sent to you in the Amazon Go app. This experience was truly magical and I cant wait for this to expand to other cities!Bravo Amazon!
