The team here is amazing. Dr.Lewis is great and Brenda could not possibly be more helpful and knowledgeable. I no longer live in SF, but I was there visiting and they were so accommodating to help me replace my lost contacts while traveling. Love this place!

Very friendly and professional staff, and the store is clean, so I felt safe coming here during Covid. Good selection of frames. I had a pair of glasses from another location that were badly bent, and Richard fixed it for me quickly. I was so appreciative, and will definitely come back when its time to get new glasses.

Brenda is amazing! I came in today to ask about getting perscription lenses put in my favorite pair of designer sunglasses. Id been turned away from various other places who told me it couldnt be done, so I was prepared for bad news - but Brenda gave me a yes! She was so thorough in her examination of the frames and was so cheerful, friendly, and enthusiastic. It was so refreshing as a customer to be welcomed and treated like an old friend instead of as just someone on the other side of the table. I can tell she takes great care and pride in what she does, and that she really values building relationships with her clients. Brenda, if you read this, thank you so much for all your help! Youve made this gal super happy!

Theres only one place that meets my need for customized frames: Site for Sore Eyes on West Portal Ave. No matter where I have my eyeglasses done I have to come back to this place because they are the only ones that can put nose pads on my frames. Brenda and Jim are extremely helpful. They both take their time to listen, and do the fitting accurately and carefully. They also gave me tips on how to take care of my glasses that other opticals never mentioned to me. Thank you Brenda and Jim!

Three pairs of my eye glasses were broken. I went to site for sore eyes at 300 West portal In San Francisco and talked to Brenda, a very pleasant woman. The first pair Jim fixed right away as it just needed a screw. He then told me that my other two pairs of glasses, 10 years old were. Eye Phorics, Swiss Flex and he did not know if he could get the parts I needed. He did not know anyone who dealt in these parts, the soft plastic parts that go on either side of the nose. So he looked it up on the computer to see if he could get the parts. Then he showed one of my pairs of glasses to Miguel. Miguel went into a drawer and found an old pair of these glasses and immediately took off the part and put it on my glasses. He then found another old pair of glasses somewhere else and took off that part and put it on my other pair of glasses. They must have worked with me for at least 20 minutes and maybe more and then they insisted on not charging me a penny. I insisted on paying them something but they declined my offer. From now on, I will be using site for sore eyes on West Portal and San Francisco. Thanks to Brenda, Jim and Miguel.

Great visit! I havent been in to have my eyes checked in eyes and had to go in to figure out why I was having headaches and double vision. The ladies on the sales floor were attentive and helpful and the Doctor was genuine and kind. He had loads of information for me and explained it so it was easy to understand. He even took time to double check my eyes and verify I was getting the correct glasses. All in all i had a great visit and TWO pairs of awesome glasses for the price of one! I will make this my main choice in eye care .

I bought a pair of eyeglass from them. With only 6 months, its broken. I didnt buy the insurance as its already expensive and I thought that Its not worth to buy only 1 year guarantee. I paid 300$ on my glass, the most expensive Ive ever paid for glasses. Theyre liar. I advise you not to buy from this store base on my own experience. Very expensive, very low quality. If I can, Id give 0 star.

I dropped my pair of sunglasses by my car door, and when I closed the car door the frame of one sunglass was twisted. I took it to Site for Sore Eyes on West Portal to have it fixed. Tony Rivas was very professional and helpful. He took a lot of care to bend the glass frame back into its original shape without breaking it. He also made sure it fit me well. He didnt charge me anything for his effort! I am very impressed! The store looks very nice and has great selections of sunglasses and frames. I will definitely refer my friends to this store and come back when I need to buy new eyeglasses. Excellent customer service and great selections!

Went in for a contact lens renewal script so I can get my lenses online and cheaper. Everything went smoothly I pulled our my insurance card which I might add had all the info necessary . He then asked me for my social security number? What? why do you need my social? Oh, just to make sure you dont get billed incorrectly? Horse s--____ the guy simply did not want to take the time to look at the 16 numbers on my id card, and type them into his computer. It was easier for him. Seriously, I go to get a renewal for my contacts and he needs my social security number. I dont think so. Im getting my eyes examined not taking out a loan.. Be careful folks dont let lazy workers bamboozle you into handing out private info like its nothing.

Great and surprisingly fun eye exam. Im in the medical field and was really impressed by Dr. Lewis knowledge and enthusiasm for his work. He explained changes in my vision that other optometrists never explained to me.I booked my appt the same day online very easily (it seemed that there were only 2 other appts booked the whole day) and initially worried that there might be a reason there were so few bookings. Definitely had nothing to worry about! Would recommend this doctor to all my friends. I looked at glasses for a while as well and received excellent customer service.

I left a current eye exam and frames with the SFSE office in West Portal and the staff member I spoke with understood I would contact them by email when I had my insurance information to get the lenses built, and they would ship me the lenses and discard the worn frames. Weeks later I contacted them by email with the valid insurance number and told them to build the lenses. The response was we cant use these frames. I was wearing identical new frames with the expired lenses. They kept telling me I cant wear the frames they have and I have to buy new ones. I demanded they ship the frames they have to another optometrist and they refused. These people are idiots. Complete jackasses.

Sold me a pair of rimless glasses which went all loose and fell apart after just a few months. Came in and the guy told me Id put two years of wear on them in 6 months. Mind you Ive had rimless glasses for more than 4 years already and never had this kind of problem. After I pressured them about the warranty (which they didnt offer to do themselves?) they replaced the frames, which went loose after about two weeks. Brought them in again and the sales guy said they didnt have the technician there to fix them and heard him being snarky with a coworker about how its his second time [bringing them in]. Now I have a pair of unwearable glasses.Two stars instead of one because the optometrist I worked with was a delight.
