Called in and asked if they had a a replacement CPU cooler for an Intel I5 chip set and thermal paste at the shop. The man on the phone told me yes he has both no problem. I come in and give him my CPU cooler and he has me a E97378 cooler which is meant for I3 but still fits and would probably do the same job. I was a little weary because it was clearly used but I figured it wasnt that big of a deal at $8.00 and figured Id try it. When I asked him about the thermal paste I found out they dont actually sell the higher quality thermal pastes but he gave me a pack of the cheaper repair level paste you find in most stores.Fast forward to coming home and installing the fan I find out that the fan doesnt actually work at all and that it either has a short or the motor has died in it. The only reason I had to replace my first fan that was higher quality was because the plastic pins had broken on two posts. So now Im left with a fan that is 100% inoperable while they have my fan that is operable but just needs pins swapped.Moral of the story is I didnt want to wait for amazon and the shop was open and I trusted them as professionals. Ill never make that mistake again.
