Had a Rx 580 black edition, which was a special overclocked amd gpu out of the box from XFX; however, not the normal rx 580 series drivers you install from AMD support website. Dave, the computer repair main, found that I needed to download the drivers from XFX, the manufacturer because it was a special edition and not the drivers from the AMD website. Tho an easy fix, I spent days trying to diagnose my black screen of death situation, and surrendered into finding an expert to fix my problem. Dave is the man, he fixed it, I paid 1.5 hours of his service. He had my computer for about a week, but letting him take his time as I mentioned he definitely took the necessary steps into finding out the conclusion, because he called and gave me updates as he needed to continue to further investigate my computer. Anyways, sorry for this long review. Definitely, if your spending to long on diagnosing your computer like I did with no fixtures, take it to Dave on Taraval.

I brought my roommate here for some work on his new computer. The gentleman (I want to say his name was Dave) behind the counter was incredibly helpful. Great personality, and very open and honest. He gave my roommate a discount simply because of an unfortunate mistake that was made by Amazon not by Cosmic computer. That is not only service, but compassion, and that is rare these days. My 2012 Macbook Pro crashed on me. I use my laptop just about all day every day so this was pretty crushing for me. Thankfully, Cosmic Computer quickly identified the issue and was able to get my computer back to 100% health in a couple of days. The reasonable price I was quoted up front ended up being the price that I paid on the back end. I was very happy with the service I was provided and how I was treated.

David is great! He took the time to try out many solutions to my computer problem. Unfortunately I need a new one but he did not nickle and dime me for his time.I would come here again for any future repairs and recommend him 100%. Very nice and friendly and worked at a nice pace to find a solution.He was very knowledgeable about my Dell and was able to give me lots of great information.If you have any compter problems and live in the area, check out the shop!

Cosmic is always able to fix my laptops, saving me a lot of money by not having to replace it.

I contacted John Eichinger when my computer failed. He was able to recover the data from the primary hard drive as well as a failed back up drive. He did not charge for the time it took to scan the failed drives. I was completely satisfied. He charged me less than the estimated cost, and provided some good computer advice as well. Highly recommended.

If your MacBook is crapping out on you, do NOT pay the exorbitant price of getting Apple to fix it for you. DO visit David at Cosmic Computers. It might take a little longer but his work is excellent and affordable. My computer is faster than it was when I first got it back in 2009.

Very affordable, friendly and trustworthy shop. I have had two experiences here. They fixed a smashed laptop screen for less than half of what the manufacturer was asking and opened up another laptop to replace/re-rig the power-in which has remained sturdy.

David came to my rescue. I am an attorney and live on my laptop. I was out of capacity and paralyzed. He figured out exactly what I needed, made sure he could get me the new hard drive I needed, installed it overnight and ran it to make sure everything was working, even fixing programs that had been corrupted. He called me to keep me posted. He is knowledgeable and he cares. He took great care of me. Highly recommend.

I have always found the staff helpful in the store. They listen carefully and have on occasion spent time discussing a problem resulting in no need to have them repair or review the problem. Also, they seem to work with just about anything, seemingly no matter how old. Sometimes they might just say its better to buy a new computer/laptop then spend the money trying to repair your problem. Ive been very happy with the times Ive been to the store.

The guys are so incredibly friendly, the prices are good, and they do what they say - fix your computer or give you the hard truth that it is gone. They rock!

Excellent work and troubleshooting of most computer problems. They breathed new life into an old laptop that I needed to use for another year before buying a new one, and they were willing, and able, to build my high-end machine from parts that I bought online, and they did thorough testing afterwards. I cant recommend them highly enough.

Dave is a community institution. Nice guy, really knows his stuff and is reasonable.

Quickly diagnosed my problem (2013 MacBook Air) and provided a quick and cost-efficient fix! Only caveat is that it was sometimes hard to reach the shop by phone.

They do not know professionalism and cordiality. My Dell xpsL had a problem of hard disk and memory according the error message, but this pseudo-technicians said it is a software problem. I paid $165 after 2 visits for the same problem. They did not refund my money because misinterpretation was made by a no written order of my solicitude. To be clear: they have not written down any of my solicitudes or had a questioner form.

Tried to use this local shop instead of Newegg/Amazon to build a new PC. However, the guys didnt give me the impression that they wanted to get my business. For a multi-thousand dollar order they didnt get back to be quickly.After nagging them one time too often and not getting a reply in time I decided to go with Amazon.

David and Andy have always been very helpful, honest and reasonably priced.they have rescued my Mac for quite a few breakdowns, glad I can count on them.

Called last week and they didnt have thermal paste? Very odd for a computer repair store.Tried to go in this week to pick up a CPU (i7-4790k), which is a pretty normal, close to top end CPU. He does not carry any of the CPUs that even fit that SOCKET TYPE so I cant even buy a more or less expensive cpu to match my board. OK fine. Now he berates me that I should have bought my cpu and motherboard together. Ok, so I ask what he has and he has the next gen (extremely expensive, 400-1k+). So I ask him if I can get one of those and a new motherboard to support it, but he doesnt have any motherboards. Again he berates me for not buying my parts all at the same time, which of course I cant even do at his store because he has no parts.Basically, this place has zero useful inventory and the staff is very rude. Im surprised its still open, given that he sent the customer in front of me away empty handed and turned down potentially a thousand dollars in business from me.

These guys are TERRIFIC!!! Not only did they fix my computer, so it now runs like new, but they also fixed things I didnt even request! I like to listen to concerts - they fixed the volume. The boot up process took forever, now it works better than it did when I bought the Toshiba Satellite laptop. They even threw in a wifi antenna, which fixed a HUGHE pb. I was having, with the computer going off line (because it was over heating). For under $100. I got a new computer!!!I would recommend Cosmic to the Dept. of Defense and Executive Branch of the govt.

David has literally been the go to guy for any and all of my familys computer build/repair/support needs for THREE GENERATIONS. ever since my grandfather made the fateful decision to ask for Davids expertise regarding an ancient rig way back in the day, he has been nothing short of perfect. The dude even used to buy me boba and KFC at the stores across the street from his shop on Taraval when my dad or grandfather brought me along as a kid.However, his generosity and overall ability to be a good friend is not enough a reason to entrust him with your precious system; he knows his way around any rig you can think of like he designed then himself. Ive added a photo of my current PC tower - it was originally built by D in 2008 (maybe 09?) It still runs like a champ, and its not just a glorified internet portal. Even after 12 years, this thing still handles music production & mixing, some light gaming and the occasional large 3D render project without missing a beat. Thats not even the best part about it, though. It cost my grandfather less than $1,000 for everything inside & the case itself (we didnt purchase any external peripheral devices or monitors with it). Also, I cannot remember a single instance in which it needed to be brought into the shop for servicing or repair. Ever. I honestly think Ill be able to continue using this thing well past 2025. For posterity, the rig has an intel quad core i7, Nvidia GPU, 1tb SATA HDD w/ a 500gb RAID drive and 3 x 8gb of Kingston DDR3 RAM (24GB total.)Basically, my advice to you is this: if you need anything at all that involves a computer part or whole, have any questions about your own equipment or want to go all in and build that monster rig that has been haunting your dreams lately - give David a call. His shop can be a bit hectic, so definitely start with a ring or email. Hell do his best to get you the help you need and if he cant do it himself, hes honest enough to refer you to any of his talented colleagues instead of making you wait for him to finish other projects.Youll be glad you listened to me when you hear that low hum in your new machine after all is said and done. Trust me.
