Pretty good bakery for SF. Croissants are good. However, be sure you have at least 15 min when you swing by… service is SLOW
Excellent coffee and pastries! The smoked trout salad was a very refreshing lunch and the raspberry pistachio croissant was also quite good.
All of the food and drinks are delicious. Marcus, the guy in front, was really attentive and was hilarious. I definitely would come back just because of him (and the food).
Food was good: the eggwhite omlette, the “fantastic croissant French toast”, croissants and the tarts. The onion soup was not at all French, the onions were not caramélised.
Good coffee. Good customer service. Wonderful pastry. Great place.
2 cashiers would be useful the line is too longCaoffee could be better vs Peet’s next door
Came on a Sunday morning and the line was literally out the door. I only wanted bakery items so I chose a butter croissant, chocolate croissant, and sea salt chocolate chip cookie. Please note I am understandably critical of bakeries. The butter croissant was good but would have loved to have a bit more butter in the taste, especially considering the name.Chocolate croissant was on point with good quality chocolate.Sea salt chocolate chip cookie was an excellent cookie however I couldnt taste the salt whatsoever. Why 5 stars? One of the better places Ive been to in San Francisco and for the price, a great joy.
The food was amazing and Marcus made our experience so great. Hes very kind and funny, and the food is well-priced.
Terrific food and great staff
Airport quality food with dirty wobbly tables. Theres a reason why neighboring cafes have a line and this one doesnt
This is an adorable little spot to stop in for an afternoon bite and some coffee. This is NOT the Starbucks owned La Boulange, and shares no resemblance. The staff are really friendly and it’s clean and quiet inside. On a nice day, it’s a great place to hang out before heading over to the park.
The coconut cold brew warrants its own review, it’s incredible, and most of the time you can pick it up from a shelf and be on your way. Of course the pastries are divine as well.
Just great, great latté!
One of the best iced lattes ive ever had
If you’re in the area, you’re better off going to the Reverie just a few doors down. It has better food, and the coffee is also to a high standard, while having an outdoor garden to boot. Great for that weekend brunch vibe. For those looking for a European feel, La Boulangerie is lacking. The food is acceptably French in that there are pastries and some quiches, but that’s it. No music, or sounds of French, or homely touches to transport you.Breakfast for two with two coffees was $40. I think we could have found better value elsewhere. The staff were perfectly pleasant.
The plus side I like the corner locale with more available seating, the food and pastries are exceptional. The minus service is slow as molasses on a cold day in June!
Choc ciabatta, sandwich on baguette, sliced loaves of croissant bread. Good the heart patient center is 3 blocks west.
Their croissants are really good, and did you see how they serve their cappuccino!
Great little bakery. Open for walk in and carry out during Covid19, also has some tables outside.
They serve huge drinks in mugs that are more like bowls. Attractive treats. Nice condiments. No outlets. Temperature control not great. On the pricier side.
Hard to know what exactly is organic and what is not, but there certainly organic options available. Everything Ive had here is very tasty, and some things are even unique. Better and bigger menu that youd expect at a small cafe, and theyre all around town to boot! A San Francisco gem
You are the best 🤤❤️
I was disappointed. I ordered the Fuji Apple Salad with chicken to go and did not get any chicken on my salad. I was also charged for the chicken that I didnt receive. In addition they were out of the salad dressing for this salad and I was offered a substitute. The salad did taste great but I would have preferred it to be served as I ordered it.
They are still closed from the pandemic but top notch French bakery all around
This is one of my favorite breakfast/lunch spots. The food is good - I especially love the potatoes. Their pastries are delicious and their coffee is good too. They recently started having homemade bottled coffees and teas, which are really fun. The staff is very friendly and its a real neighborhood place.
Tasty and massively portioned breakfasts. Good veggie options and a nice airy space. Solid for counter serve if you dont have much time.
I love all the boulangerie. The coffee is superb the pastries are excellent the roast beef sandwich is magnificent and the jelly or marmalade is superb, the service is okay and atmosphere is clean
The small coffees here are served in the biggest soup bowls I have ever seen. The coffee was so so so good ! And the pastry options were absolutely fabulous !Recently tried the savory croissants and loved them!
You can’t visit SF without getting an almond croissant from LB!! Amazing. Make sure to get it warmed!
Stopped in here for a breakfast pastry and loved it!! This place has delicious food and the cashier was so nice to my daughter, went out of her way to explain what one of the pastries was and how to pronounce it. We had a great experience!
Wonderful Boulangerie! Very well-run spot with a excellent croissants.
The associates were very helpful and fast service, the food was good also.
The croissants are superb!! Amazing texture and flavour and not greasy at all. Staff were super friendly. Prosciutto cotto croquet monsieur was tasty, but fairly rich. Coffee in a bowl is a nice European touch.
Great cafe for coffee, tea and pastries. Nice staff, quiet and easy to visit with a friend. Great location
Delicious latte and perfect Pouding
Interestingly La Boulangerie serves coffee in a bowl😳! Totally new concept to me, I ordered mine in a togo cup😅 Their breakfast potatoes were cool, they were little mashed potato balls the size of big marbles🤩I respect the way they don’t use a microwave to reheat their pastries, they have a special oven to do it without microwaves🎉I wanted to chill and sketch for a bit but the Neil Diamond playing on the radio was pure torture🤭
I really like this place. Delicious food, pastries, salads and juices. Good to grab to go and also to sit there and enjoy the place, that is beautiful. At weekends can be crowded.
Ahhhh. I love this place. Thought wed lost it some years ago, but its still here, still charming.
Food and service are always very good here. A great neighborhood spot!
Delicious!
Im so glad the original owners are back in the space. The pastries are light and flavorful. They make the best almond croissant Ive ever eaten. I thought that their chai latte had way too much milk so the tea flavor want so strong. I like that they have both indoor and outdoor seating. The place is very crowded so not great for large groups.
Has no flavor, poorly made and was given 1/4 the size and charged 3x the price. It’s basically a Starbucks with their image. If your seeking value shop local, you would get better service and a higher quality delivery without paying way above market prices. Restaurants like these are all over SF and monetize on people who don’t know better service.
Love love love this place. I love french food in general, but having an authentic flare is always a perk! the ambiance is quite nice and it is in a great location. =)
So happy its back after the Starbucks purchase and closure. Amazing cappuccinos in huge mugs. Great spot, good food, good drinks - love it!
Lots of seating, nice ambiance. But I have to say the quality of the pastries feels quite low. Perhaps Im just biased but I miss a lot of the offerings when it was La Boulange before Starbucks
This place has friendly staff and delicious coffee and pastries, but my favorite thing about it is the gorgeous early morning light that fills the whole room with warm sun rays. It’s a wonderful way to start the day.
Fresh, healthy and exciting dishes, served in a homey atmosphere that cultivates community. Great place for any time of day and any sized party. Home-made desserts are a nice balance to the many vegetable-based options.
Nice little lunch or breakfast spot.
Good neighborhood spot for coffee and light meals. European style and more spacious than other cafes in the area.
Love coming here for pastries, tea or coffee. Quick, friendly service. Always clean and inviting.
I love the atmosphere of this cafe! Love their coffee, it is strong enough, but very flavorful. They also have the best pastries.
Great place. Has yummy food but sells out of sandwiches very fast!! Must be good.
I was greeted rudely and was treated as if I was inconveniencing the lady at the register by ordering food. I never write reviews like this but someone’s gotta let her know she is really causing damage to their customer base. Usually everyone there is super friendly but this girl, I am not sure of her name but she is the heavyvset brunette with the RBF, was just the worst.
Sweet little place with delicious Parisian breads, pastries, omelettes and delicious eats.
Bay breads can do no wrong. every one of their boulanges seems to mint money and their restaurants are great too. this place is always hopping and the bread is delicious.
Classic French pasteries and brunch, great coffee and always warm welcoming staff. So happy to have this place right around the corner!
Best french style breakfast ever in SF, been a few times, can be busy anytime
The food is good but service is slow
Superb local spot. So glad it survived the encounter with starbucks corporation. Wonderful sandwiches and pastries.
A little piece of Paris in San Francisco
I really enjoy their French toast pastry and their chicken mushroom sandwich. The food is always delicious but can definitely be pricey.
Excellent place for a quick bite. Love their baguette sandwiches.
We’ll packaged but overpriced juices.Good pastries, mediocre bread. Go to arizmendi closeby for something better
They make a good Cobb salad and other breakfast and lunch basics.
This a chain restaurant in the bay area, although the decoration is pretty much the same at each restaurant. I particularly like this location because of the size and the outdoor sitting area. The free refill pickle is a plus.
The espresso was burnt and hurt my stomach. The pastries are huge and dense. (12/2015). Will revise review if coffee improves.
Best bread pudding ever.
Quaint and quite french. they represent the mother country very well. they create consistent foods.
Very happy this place is back in the hands of the original owners. Great pastries, great coffee, great breakfast food, great open faced sandwiches for lunch.
Wonderful pastries and delicious sandwiches. Hope to visit again when in San Francisco
LB is better than 9/10 bistros and bakeries in Paris. All is good here.
I saw the Latino cook in the kitchen wipe his sweaty face and continuing preparing food with the same gloves... My sandwich had to paper thin slices of Turkey and a little bit cheese on top... Pathetic overprice
This place has certainly gone down after the storm. not much here to eat and the espresso drinks are weak and small, as in you get half filled cup of bowl of it and you can barely tell it even has espresso.
Was recommended to me for a good breakfast. Not sure what the hype is on weekends, but seemed alright.
Small, friendly place with good breakfast offer and affordable prices. You can sit or take away.
Best baked goods in the neighborhood. Coffee in a bowl is weird at first, but something that later one looks forward too.
Granola with yoghurt and fruit was fresh and tasty. Perfect for an early morning breakfast.
Great food and good service.
Sandwiches and pastries are very tasty. the service was excellent with the server agreeing to serve my son a sandwich right at closing time.
The orange cinnamon swirls are excellent
Had to wait a little but great food
Great food and great service. Everything went well.
Nice place, less busy than the Zazie close by with nice food
Very cute cafe with a warm atmosphere and excellent breakfast.
Great little cafe with a quiet feel in Cole valley. Only downside is the lack of wifi.
La Boulange was a magical place, after Starbucks acquisition and come back as La Boulangerie is not really the same. The food is not that good anymore
Love the mini sandwiches, the french macarons, and even the home/store made herbed potato chips! Lots of pastries and sandwiches to try.
Recipes and available treats have changed due to the Starbucks induced buyout fiasco. We just miss certain treats and tastes which are unlikely to return.
Neat service bar with butter, preserves, untensils, etc. to help individualize you eating pleasure.
Ahhh the perfect saturday morning at la boulange that makes me lust for the charming outdoor seating in european cafés. a bowl of coffee, croissant breakfast sandwich, and side of fruit makes the belly happy and the mind calm.
Terrific french pastries that you can eat at wonderful old, very heavy tables which you share with others. dont miss the caneles de bordeaux.
Delicious food and comfortable space
Quaint French Bakery
