Their donuts are not your typical donut. These seem to be moist like not dry at all. And I loved that. They are less fluffier than the usual donut, but its density is needed for the flavors. We got maple bacon, toffee coffee and wanted to try something outside the typical donut and it was a corn fritter. The fritter had corn, Tajín and a lime taste to it, don’t think it’s corn bread. It works! But not sure it’s my thing. Their flavors are unique and definitely coming back. The pictures I took them at home after a long walk in the mission so they took some damage and some nibbles.
These donuts were probably made in heaven.🍩😇 I bought these donuts at around noon time the day before and had them for breakfast with my girlfriend the next morning. So delicious! I really liked the spiced chocolate and the berry pride. Staff here is super helpful and friendly. It feels like they are people from the neighborhood and are really happy. These donuts are pricey (I paid almost $24 for 6 donuts), but it was worth the splurge. Try the coffee as well! It smells so great!☕
Cute little donut store that offers delicious donuts and coffee to the early birds. I love that they open early, when I stopped by on a Saturday morning, there was already a tiny line before 8am.I had two donuts: Chocolate Rose and Caramel de Sel. Both are pretty tasty and aren’t too sweet or too heavy so I liked them. But there is something that bothers me: once the donut is placed in the small paper bag, its glazing would get smeared and in my case, a lot of the glazing stayed on the paper bag rather than on the donut :-/
Donuts are super delicious, I love it. but don’t recommend you to order online afternoon. They replace your ordered items to totally different items without any notification (I know there is one employee who always give me notification when it’s sold out) This is huge minus and disappointing especially if you have kids who wanted chocolate donuts but you got apricot donuts...
Im really happy they had a vegan donut and it was an excellent apricot one, though it would have been better with less sugar on it.I also got a hot chocolate with soy milk (they have three alternative milks which they unfortunately have a 50-cent surcharge for: soy, oat, and almond). It was good, but thinner and less chocolatey than I prefer.
Their donuts are out of this world. I wish I live closer by so I can get their donuts and coffee everyday. I love their lavender coffee, but all other espresso drinks and tea were great too. The staff are friendly and they are dogs friendly as well.
I clicked my heels three times and ended up at my own personal slice of heaven in San Francisco - Dynamo Donut! From the moment that you step in, you are embraced by the aromas of freshly fried donuts and delicious craft coffee. The options in terms of donuts are extensive and each unique in their own way. Highly recommend the maple bacon donut - it literally melts in your mouth and the crunch and saltiness of the bacon makes it truly dynamic. If youre looking to get a bit of fresh air, their garden in the back of the shop provides a relaxing setting for enjoying their delicious donuts. The garden is absolutely beautiful and well-kept. There are also vegan and wheat-free options too.
MY DAUGHTER LIKED THE VANILLA BEAN, MY SON LIKED THE MAPLE BACON...STAFF WAS VERY NICE! AND THE MOCHA WAS GOOD. ONLY STREET PARKING, CAN BE A LITTLE TRICKY. WALK-UP WINDOW SERVICE.
Coffee is good but not worth $10!!! Also don’t need grumpy rude staff to deal with in the morning. They should have stayed in bed. I can get coffee at McDonalds drive thru and avoid rude staff
Love their Lavender latte with oat milk. Sadly the donuts were little cold, but still the dough was very light & fluffy & soft, which the texture I love. Definitely not on the dense or greasy side.
Yup. This is the spot. Come here if you want a killer donut with unique flavor profiles. The only negative I experienced is the fact that the donuts were cold. I understand the open dining environment and seasonal temperature affects these, but in 2019, there must be a way to provide a donut which isn’t cold.
So I havent here in a few years and stopped by today. They used to have better presentation. Idk, the donuts used to look nicer. When I went today there were literally only 3 donuts that were in this little cake hood. They looked kinda crusty. I actually thought they were just for display at first and asked if those were the donuts that were for sale(not in a rude way, I said are these the donuts?) .I went for it anyway and while the donut tasted fine, it didnt feel super fresh. Nothing Id go back for, but not bad either. Used to be better though.I feel like they could really leverage the experience by having the donut making process visible and have fresh warm donuts available. The person who helped me gave good service and explained the available flavors.
If youre feeling savory, their quiche is really good. All the donuts are amazing of course, and they sell little dog donuts for your furry friend.
Best donuts in town and good customer service
Classically good donuts such as their Vanilla bean and unique flavors that are great like blueberry cornbread and star anise.
Always tasty and exciting. I never tire of the different flavors and textures and am excited for my Dynamo!
I called ahead for my order of Carmel de sel, seasonal raspberry pepper, and seasonal chai donuts. Also ordered a coffee that they added the perfect amount of cream and sugar to! The donuts and coffee were all absolutely delicious. The carmel de sel drizzle melted in my mouth -- you have to try it! Not to mention the staff were extremely friendly and provided a seamless contactless pick up for me.
Amazing coffee and probably the best donuts in the galaxy. Love this cute walk-up located in an awesome neighborhood of SF. Its definitely worth it!
Good neighborhood donut shop. Good coffee and donuts. They have a few different gluten free ones as well. Convenient walk up window at the sidewalk and a cute back patio to check out when indoor dining opens up.
Second stop on our Saturday afternoon donut crawl:-Pink Lemonade: very artistic with a slice of candied lemon, just the right amount of sour tang, very balanced, doughy goodness, fluffy perfection.-Mango Tangerine: A lot going on here! Good balance. One side for each flavor, with delightful hunks of candied mango baked into the donut. Mango flavor comes through stronger than the tangerine, but you can totally tell both are there. It comes up as mango tango on the register which is just adorable. ;)-Orange Dreamsicle: its so creamy!! Nostalgic, really tastes like the dreamsicles I remember, plus delicious donut goodness. I wouldnt say this ones the most standout, but a solid donut nonetheless.-Double espressos: First sip was a little bit sour but after that it was all good. Very bright coffee, notes of being cherry and milk chocolate. The ex-barista with us enjoyed it overall.Delightful people serving us up. Chill and nice. Barista had great tattoos. They offer GF and vegan donuts, though we did not get those.
Excellent artisan selection of donuts...friendly staff and cool vibe in back to enjoy coffee and donuts
The donuts are pretty bad. After my first visit, I decided to try them on another day/time to give benefit of the doubt, but the donuts were just as bad. They are tasteless and dry, no matter the flavor. Dunkin and/or Krispy Kreme, which are fairly average, are superior to these. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.
I was kind of underwhelmed. They tasted very fresh, but the glaze was very, very thin and didnt taste great, and the dough itself was nothing special and maybe a bit too cinnamon-y. I think Johnny Donuts in Hayes Valley is much better.
Pretty soft, moist, and squishy donuts (definitely not as squishy as mochi donuts, obviously). A little on the sweeter side. Donuts are pretty small for their higher price range. Some flavors arent as great as others (I would avoid the caramel), but I enjoyed the chocolate rose and vanilla bean!
Good for a coffee and pastry. Great service
Easy to order online ahead of time and was ready when I picked up. My staff loved the donuts and coffee, and they even provided cups, lids, cream, and sugar. Thanks Dynamo!
I ordered Half-Dozen Assorted Donuts and one Maple Glazed Bacon donut before they were open for their first delivery. Donuts were refrigerated and the ONE maple glazed bacon donut was not included in the delivery 😬
Its always a lovely little walk to get here since I just moved to the mission. I enjoy the coffee, the staff is always super nice. Each day I try a new donut off the list. I adore places that a cute, simple and delicious compared to a large coffee shops that over run the city such as a Starbucks.
Maple glazed bacon apple donut.... it was the donut I dreamed of as a kid. One of the best donuts I’ve had in a long time. Staff was friendly and you are able to sit and eat your donut while you watch them make the donuts, it’s a cool experience. They also had a cool little kids reading book in the corner and outdoor seating as well. Fun fact.. they just celebrated their 10th year today... woot woot!
I love this walk up window! It was pretty quiet when I visited and I was able to find street parking nearby. I love that they have a limited menu of flavors with monthly special flavors too! The donuts are delicious and not too sweet.
Dynamo has some really tasty, creative doughnut flavors! The service is very friendly as well.
Great rotating selection of craft doughnuts.
I wish Houston had a donut shop with THESE kinds of donuts.
Get the passion fruit glaze with chocolate nibs! To die for!
Great choice of flavors you won’t typically see in a donut shop. They even have a gluten-free option which tastes good.
Seasonal flavors (changing monthly) are the best!
Great place service was very nice and cordial
Amazing donuts, even the vanilla is special here.
Love the gluten free doughnuts
Consistently good. Granola is amazingly tasty. And dont forget the dog donuts.
Friendly staff, good donuts!
The BEST donuts in San Francisco! Especially love that they always have multiple wheat free options and daily vegan donuts as well. The patio is dog friendly and the perfect place for breakfast---plus there are a bunch of outlets under the railing if you want to work on a laptop.
Unique flavors, plus they offer dog donuts for your furry friends
Im not one to comment on coffee shops but this place is spectacular! The coffee is luxurious & the donuts are to die for.It is now my weekly standard
Lovely doughnuts, during the non-covid-times they have a wonderful back patio.
The vegan donut option is excellent!! Hoping for more vegan donuts in the future! 🍩🤞
Great place to eat-Anytime!We used to just get their delicious donuts, but we have now tried the lunch and dinner menu too-
The best and affordable donuts in town can be found here at Dynamo! Coffee is great and they have milk alternatives for those of you who need it. I LOVE this place!
This is a great hangout for a sunny Saturday morning with some friends. There is a cute back patio thats dog friendly, and the service is very friendly. I regret to report that I didnt have a donut, but I was impressed how good the quiche I got was. Ill definitely be back to try the donuts. The coffee was also tasty, and they topped off my cup before heading back out into the street, for which Im thankful!
I love this coffee shop with a lovely little backyard. I wish they sold pastries other than donuts, but its right there in the name, so I really shouldnt complain. Donuts and Coffee are what you get. They are both good.
Never tasted anything like this. First class.
As said many times before me, delicious to the eye, unique tasty and a bit pricey donuts. They are a great treat for oneself.
The best spot ever
The donuts are amazing, and the coffee is too. Try a fritter with a latte.
Maple bacon donuts was really the best. I always visit dynamo every week for just for those. Their staffs were super nice and they never fail to impress me.
Donuts and coffee are scrumptious! But i wish it wasnt so pricey 😣😢😭. Baristas treat you better now, is it the pandemic effect softening their hipster little heart.
Who puts BACON on a donut??? Dynamo does and it keeps me coming back for more, and more, and more.... and more. I have never had a better donut or a bad bite. Sometimes these little devils are hard to let go of. After spending a pretty penny ($2-3 each) for a box for the office it makes you second guess your upbringing when it comes to manners and sharing. Grab one for yourself and try other flavors for everyone else... Im sure theyll let you have a bite. Just one.
Hands down the only donut shop which sells donuts worth the calories. Just about any donut you select will be awesome .The shop is clean, bright and has very friendly staff which seemly enjoy donuts and coffee as well. Cozy and comfy and full of coffee and pastry aroma
There was fast and courteous service. The bill was fair for the quality of the food.
A cool place. Great food and coffee. Cleanliness. Great service. Great atmosphere.
Amazing Donuts! Great customer service.
These gourmet donuts are yummy! Such interesting and exotic flavors - Strawberry Earl Grey and Kaffir Lime Coconut to name a couple. The place is cozy and cute with indoor and outdoor seating. The only complaint is that they have limited hours and during the holidays, they dont have set closing hours so you just go there and find out they are closed. Otherwise, worth checking out!
This place is amazing, careful they can get busy real fast. Only because they are that good. The maple bacon donut is one of the best donuts Ive had. The cappuccino is amazing. And they do it all right in front of you. The layout is comfortable.
I had this place starred from passing by but never stopping. I finally did and now it will be a destination whenever I’m in town. I had a banana something-or-other and it was amazingly balanced. It wasn’t overly sweet and went amazingly well with their delicious coffee. The nice man working the counter let me sample a Monte Christo - I bought several to share with friends. Cute little back yard to sit and enjoy. But you should probably get them to go or else you’ll find yourself ordering a third and fourth round.
An entirely unique selection of doughnuts. Flavors that are not available anywhere else e.g. bacon, apple, maple. Small storefront, no seating. Street parking. Also serves beverages, lavander lemonade or coffee. Located in the Mission a good choice if youre weary of raised glaze and plain cake doughnuts!
Bacon Maple donuts? Hells yes. Even though it was Sunday and they were out of all but the Bacon Maple variaty, the quality was very good. Nice environs and good coffee. The best part was the staff. Relaxed but genuinely friendly and helpful. The back area has old style counter stools overlooking the production area. I would like to go back and enjoy a coffee donut combo while watching the baking.Overall, great experience. Cant wait to go back.
This shop was awesome in the sense that I could not make up my mind about which donuts to eat because I wanted to try them all. There were so many different intriguing and unusual flavors. They also make traditional macchiatos here. Perfect for grabbing something quick and sweet to eat in the morning. I ended up with a chocolate rose donut and another one that tasted like a vanilla coke.
I often meet people here to talk. This place has a cool atmosphere. I see why this place has so many great reviews.
Oh how I love this place. So creative with their donut flavors, you really cant go wrong. And the donuts are decent size as well - which it should be if youre paying $3+ for a donut! The staff is very friendly and you can see that the donuts are fresh and made every morning with love.
This place is feel a little more best time to enjoy the coffee.
These are unequivocally the finest donuts I’ve ever had. I no longer live here but make a point to visit when I’m in town. Along with 9th Ave Arizmendi, Dynamo is a superlative in baked goods.
The donuts are great. I like the casual, outdoor ordering method, it means i dont have to my bike up for a 3min transaction. My concern is that the donuts could be a bit less expensive considering the neighborhood theyre in, instead of playing host to gentrification.I appreciate the GF options, and understand that can be a bit more to produce. I would like to see some pricing that would allow the lower income members of the community to eat here though. Consider someone on min wage: grabbing a donut & coffee here consistently would be impossible.
Bacon maple. I know Im not the only one to say it, but it needs to be said. Come here, eat it. SO GOOD.Im no donut expert or someone who will travel long distances for them, but I appreciate ones that are tasty in more complex ways than just being super sweet. Thats why I appreciated the donuts I tried at Dynamo. So tasty and complex and just wow. There is a small seating area inside for those times when you want to get out of the cold, but you have to order at the walk-up window. Its a pretty basic space, but cozy and nice. And bathrooms.Great experience and donuts, would come again.
Favorite coffee shop in all of SF. Also just saw them giving out the leftover donuts to homeless people, which is nice.
