My girlfriend and I stopped by today (29 Sept.) to see what was actually inside the building, when we found Sou Sou we fell in love with their pieces. The cashier (I didn’t catch her name, but she had a green bow in her hair) was very kind and helpful to us, she let me know how to take care of the muslin shirts I was interested in and told us about some film events happening in the building. We ended up leaving with an awesome shirt and two cute tenugui towels.
I researched and sought out this store when I visited SF back in July, and it definitely met my expectations! The materials and designs are luxurious and so relevant to todays streetwear, as well as inspired by traditional Japanese clothing.I urge you all to at least buy a pair of tabi socks! Theyre affordable, comfortable, and they come in the most amazing prints. Ive already ordered another pair!
I love this store, bought a pair of jikatabi shoes earlier today and the saleswoman was so patient helping me find just the right pair. Ive never had better customer service! The clothes are a little pricy but I think the idea is to have fewer, nicer things. Im a little too shy to wear some of the brighter patterns but it is certainly an amazing place to get a signature piece of clothing. You wont regret stopping by.
Great shop to buy quality Japanese clothing including tabi socks/shoes. Sousou shops are only in Kyoto, Tokyo and here. Very friendly staffs too.
Angie is da best!!!...i decided to disclose where i got my super cool jikatabi in non-black..i mean the new yorkers been makin the special trip here since two years ago and i see i am not the only one wearing sou sous version....always gotta check tge sizes abd try it ob because always have tge latest for san fran maeket and i wear mebs sizes due to my wide receiver shoulder.
Some of the best modern clothes from Japan with a uniquely old fashioned accent.
