Abbey Carpet use to be great. I’ve purchased from them in the past and been very happy. This January I visited the store to get rug samples. They needed to be shipped to me so I gave them my address, which they had in their customer files. To date, they have shipped the samples to the wrong address at least 3 times. It’s almost April and I still have no carpet samples. Something changed there.
Abbey carpet is great. They have been in business for the longest time and are very reputable. My family and have worked with them for the longest time. Recently, I bought beautiful wool carpeting at a very good price. There was never any pressure and they worked with me patiently so I could make the right decision for me.The installer who came to install our carpeting did a great job. He was meticulous and knowledgeable. I have been very happy with their service prior, during and after install.
The hours are limited, but well worth it. Go early to give yourself at least 1 to 2 hours to look at all of the carpets Linda carries. Her installation crew (Berto and ?) were also top, top notch. They did the best carpet installation on our stairs that Ive ever seen.
From start to finish I wish I’d never set foot in the store. The salesman was pushed me into a cheaper product sample to take home to view as well as the one I wanted. I returned the samples the same day but just could not handle the salesman so I waited awhile to return in the hopes of getting a more congenial person to help me. It was the same guy. I had my dimensions and pictures so I thought I could get what I needed. I was wrong. The salesman wrote the order for what he thought I should have instead of what I needed. I waited months for the carpet. Was told the delivery day with no option to change it. The delivery guys knew there was a problem as soon as the saw the room. They were the only bright spot in this entire ordeal. Immediately they measured the space and said it was too short. I couldn’t believe it. I showed them the same dimensions and pictures I showed the salesman and they agreed taking the rugs and pads back to reorder. It took two weeks to hear back despite following up and leaving voicemails and finally one last email saying I’d just prefer a refund. The owner called and berated me right from the start. It was one of the worst phone calls I’ve ever had. Self promoting at the same time he was criticizing me. In the end I canceled the order and they are keeping a cancelation fee. It’s a shame.
Good experience here - nice selection of mid-priced high quality rugs, way better than buying online. Plus sales person worked with me on prices and holding rugs while I double-checked measurements. Recommend checking out.
Absolutely Fantastic! The staff is kind, courteous and professional. The selection of wool carpet is the best available in SF. The knowledge of the staff is what you should expect from a highend show room.
The gentleman that was there was very friendly and informative.
This place sucks.....not friendly and racist towards african americans.....very disrespectful!!!
