Passed By Z Cioccolato today...Well its an Old-time Chocolate and Candy Shop in the heart of North Beach. Best known for their gourmet fudge, featured on the Cooking Channel.They specialize in creative, multi-layered gourmet fudge.Honestly it was Not Bad. Not as expected... But its nice.In my opinion, it is not a must try as they are trying to promote.Would have been better without the marshmallow Layer, the sweetness then would me milder.I dont think i will get this one again. Maybe gonna try something else :)

Just joined an amazing virtual online chocolate making class for a company bonding event!! Chef Mike was so friendly, informative and helpful. Living on the East Coast, I wasn’t sure how my chocolate making kit would do in transit - it was perfect as if I got it from my local market. Definitely easy to follow along and so fun!!!

My brother bought me a box of a dozen assorted dark (and a couple milk chocolate) truffles for my birthday in October. I’m a dark chocolate lover. On day 3 I bit into a truffle that had a whole cherry inside. I was in truffle heaven. I found another one in my box and ate that one too. Now all I want are those chocolate covered cherry truffles. Be sure to get a few extra for yourself if sharing.

I had been eying this place from afar. During a recent trip to SF, I sat down at a restaurant across the street. I noticed Z. Cioccolato right away and made sure to stop in after our drinks. The store is immaculate. The scent of freshly made caramel corn is intoxicating. I made a beeline for the fudge before I really took a look around. The staff was friendly and helpful in their recommendations. I then took a moment to wander around and found myself in taffy heaven (see pic). I should have purchased more!!! Anyway, I have placed two orders since arriving back home. Mike Z. is phenomenally responsive. I emailed because I was hoping to be able to purchase more taffy and he directed me to it right away. Seriously a loyal customer for life! As for the fudge, the dark chocolate sea salt caramel is my favorite but you cant go wrong with any of them! Looking forward to my next in-store visit when Im in town again.

My whole team had a fantastic time with Chef Mike and we all enjoyed making our yummy treats in our virtual class! Chef Mike organized the class super well and included tips on how we could keep our workspaces clean and clear instructions for everything else. Tempering chocolate is something I was nervous about but out of a class of 20 people no one had any issues with this at all because of the guidance Chef Mike gave us. There werent any issues with timing either and we finished everything on time. I was the person who organized the class and I received a lot of compliments for doing so even though Chef Mike was the one who did all the hard work, so thank you for making me look good!

Let me just say that not only is the fudge amazing, these people have top notch customer service. They shipped my fudge within one day and sent it Priority 2 day shipping. They also included a sample package of their spectacular taffy as a bonus. I could not be more satisfied. FIVE STARS ALL AROUND!

I participated in a work event where we learned about making chocolate treats. I have to say that there was more then enough chocolate to go around. Mike does a great job explaining what you are going to do and why. I learned some tricks that I can apply to the annual treat making activities that occur around Christmas.The event was a lot of fun and a great option while teams are spread out across the country or working from home. Even the kids enjoyed being able to dip various items into chocolate.

Chef Mike led an excellent chocolate making class for a group of co-workers. The entire experience was seamless and well thought out! High quality ingredients, shipped at the right time and all in tact -- shipped all the way across the country! The actual class was engaging and my group really enjoyed it. Not to mention that we know all have some great goodies to enjoy over the next few days. The jumbo PB cup was to amazing. My brother sent me a gift box of assorted fudge, and I was pleasantly surprised to see they added in a small baggie of saltwater taffy as a freebie. Taffy was soft and tasty. Ive only tried one fudge so far, but it was ultra smooth and so good. The order sat on my porch for 8 hours in freezing temps and was still fresh and soft after coming back to room temp.

Sitting in Toronto trying to find a high quality fudge as a gift for my brother in Las Vegas seemed challenging. I googled “best fudge in US” and found Z Cioccolato in San Fransisco. A search of their website confirmed that this was the right shop for me. I’m so glad I found this shop. From the regular notifications of shipment, to the email from their owner, Mike, thanking me for my business, the service, delivery and follow up were seamless. This is a first class business, owned and managed by someone who has mastered the art of customer service. He absolutely made me feel like a valued customer. Most important, however, my brother’s review of the fudge was outstanding. Cannot recommend enough. I will definitely reorder from Z Cioccolato.

I did a class with Chef Mike through my job and it was probably the best zoom experience we had. Chef Mike explain everything that we were going to do, gave us tips and ideas for making candy outside of the ingredients and tools that we receive. Definitely would recommend this to anyone. AMAZING EXPERIENCE ! Came here for a Chocolate Making Class to celebrate a birthday and it was FABULOUS! Mike was our instructor & was beyond patient and kind to us. (Even after we were late because there was an accident on the bridge). Communication was great and they encouraged bringing snacks and had everything you could need (plates, bottle openers, silverware, etc) that you would need & helped us pack up our treats to go. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone looking for a fun, yet relaxing experience!!

I love to visit when I’m in San Francisco, sometimes twice in one trip! The staff here is super friendly and professional. Even when another customer was being slightly inappropriate the staff handled the situation very nicely. The salt water taffy is also beyond wonderful! They have barrels and barrels of it! Definitely a fan of passion fruit and raspberry lemonade! Plus so many other cute candies and little toys.

I ordered 12 pics for a retirement party with 2 day shipping. Mike Zwiefelholfer emailed next day that they didnt receive supplies due to shipping glitches by his suppliers and was running behind. It was Monday and I needed it for party on Wednesday so I canceled. He emailed right back stating they could make my order as they had minimal ingredients. I had ordered fudge before Valentines Day, knowing that it wouldnt arrive in time for the holiday, but the shipping was incredibly slow due to the post office. It took five days to travel from San Francisco to Oakland, CA!! Anyway, I contacted Mike asking if he had more insider information than I did, and he took care of our order immediately. Wonderful fudge, and wonderful customer service!

I have never been here, but have ordered--I live across the country in Detroit, MI. Let me tell you that these were the best smores fudge I have EVER had. The way each piece was wrapped, with special care, lets you know youll be so happy. We all need joy after this pandemic. Smores is a flavor that isnt easy to do well, but the fudge was so good the kids were fighting over it. Im about to order more, right now.

Mike hosted my friends and I for a virtual chocolate making class and it was absolutely amazing. All of my friends had a great time. Mike shipped each of us a kit for the class and even made modifications for those with allergies. He was a great host and I am thankful for the experience. Online Order***Once a year I allow myself to indulge in an order of fudge. I scour the web for ratings and reviews of the best fudge shops in the U.S. and give it a whirl. I am generally unimpressed - and believe that the fudge isn’t much better than the average.This year was VERY DIFFERENT. I placed my order online, a good size order, with enough fudge to take some to work as well as give my family a nice tasting of different flavors. Less than an hour after receiving my order I was already contemplating ordering again. The Maple Walnut is incredible, the Penuche Pecan is amazing, the Beatnik Bourbon is different in a delightful way, and the Cookies and Cream is an incredible blend of flavors.The packaging was top notch, the communication on the order was impeccable, and I will definitely order again. I might have to reconsider my stance on only ordering once a year - I don’t think I’ll be able to wait too long before placing my next order.

Friendly and not aggressive sales staff. The lady there could not have been more kind about us just looking around and remembering sweeties from our childhood. We picked up a small bag of sweets (could not resist) and she very kindly gave us a small bag of the freshly made caramel corn to share (only a small one because it would have been very bad for my blood sugar). This place is awesome! We went on a Tuesday around 2p and the guy working was awesome! He was very friendly and talkative. Also, he gave decent sample sizes and wasnt annoyed at all the flavors we wanted to try. He also told us that if we bought a box of four, hed throw in a fifth for free! We ended up choosing chocolate mint, turtle cheesecake, creamy caramel peanut butter cup, tiger butter (white chocolate, milk chocolate and peanut butter) and caramel pecan cheesecake. Ive never seen cheesecake fudge before, but more people need to be making this stuff because its delicious!! Check this place out for some fantastically inventive fudge and great service!

Adorable candy store with some of the best fudge that weve ever had. They specialize in layered fudge, made in only 6lbs batches. The flavors are explosive. A true treat for fudge fans. Lots of salt water taffy, unique gifts and chocolate treats.

This cute little candy store is always a treat to walk into. They have barrels and barrels of taffy, and a full case of fudge (with free samples!).I would give 3 stars for quality, because the candy is not too impressive and the gelato was all melted, but I give 4 for the additional toys and general ambiance of the store. There are lots of small gadgets like inflatable unicorn horns for your cats, and boob shaped glasses, which I guess are my idea of fun!

This is a nice candy store which offers free fudge for curious customers. They also sell old vintage items, like comic candy stores. The cookie and cream fudge was absolutely amazing. Because it is a candy store, it draws in little children which can be a little tiring when they are rowdy. However, the atmosphere is very nice.

Ok, Im not big on sweets and thats ok because this place is amazing. I only had the pleasure of experiencing Z Cioccolato because I participated in their Team Building exercises. This is worth every penny and every minute. It makes you appreciate chocolate and every aspect. Ill never think of chocolate the same again. And they have way more than just chocolate. Also, Stephanie is an amazing encyclopedia of Chocolate.

When I walked in to this dreamland of a Candy Shoppe I didnt know what to expect. Well let me just say he has the largest selection of fresh Salt Water Taffy that he gets from my hometown of Salt Lake City and his homemade FROM SCRATCH fudge is pure sinful bliss. I had the Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel, it literally melts in your mouth. Mike and his staff really go the extra mile to make your experience at Z Cioccolato one youll never forget. Love CANDY?! Well stop by if you are every in little italy/chinatown in SF. Its colorful and awesome! Bring out the little kid in you but dont bring little kids in here, well into one specific section! Salt water taffy doesnt contain salt water, they just sell it near salt water tourist areas. Look it up. This place is a tourist gift shop candy store, it doesnt pull any punches. Their fudge is legit.

Came to visit the store and then my mom decided to buy some chocolates from there, and then when we came home the chocolates were all dry and had very bad taste then when my mom checked the expiration date it was 2 months expired!!!! . How can i big store like that cant even check their products and sell those stuff . Unfortunately disappointed, if you wanna buy something from this place plz check if the chocolates are expired or not !!
