We chose CC after looking at several other local companies and online, and we based our decision on quality, customizability, and their warranty.When I notified them about a desk drawer installed with a small nick, customer service was great and they replaced it with no charge. Our experience with two California Closet jobs was terrific. I would rate both of them as A+, and my wife and I are pretty demanding consumers. We learned that there were two parts to these jobs: 1) the conceptual and executional planning with our California Closets consultant, Lois Johnson; and the execution of both jobs with the craftsmen who actually did the work. The unexpected aspect for us was how well both of those California Closet teams worked together to achieve our vision. We had originally invited two companies to bid on the work: The Container Store and California Closets. Going in, we kind of favored the Container Store end product, as displayed in their Walnut Creek store. But at our first meeting with the representative from each of those organizations, the correct decision was clear: California Closets Lois Johnson was by far the most knowledgeable, creative, committed and intuitive partner for us. And at the end of the project, the quality, style, integration, fit and finish far exceeded our expectations. We couldnt be more delighted with the result and are willing to talk with anyone who is contemplating work with Californian Closets to share the details of our experience.

I was reluctant to visit the showroom, as I expected a really hard sales pitch. Nothing could be further from the truth. My designer really listened, suggested ways to get more storage for less money and still work in some of the specialty pieces that I liked (laundry hamper, jewelry drawer, etc.). Everything, including installation, happened exactly on the timetable I was given. The installers even showed up on time. In my experience with other home services, this is unheard of. Were pleased with the closet, the finishes, the quality. If we ever undertake a similar project again, California Closets will be my first call.

When I bought my 50 year old home, the biggest challenge was dealing with small closets. I hired California Closets after researching other companies. From start to finish, my experience was excellent. I have a double closet in my bedroom that only had one bar going across the entire space- basically useless. The representative came out for a look at the space and from there we explored a variety of options. I was impressed with all the good ideas provided and the options were endless. In the end after thoroughly discussing my needs for the space, we decided on how best to use the space. Measurements were carefully taken and from there, I signed the papers and waited for the installation. After maybe 2-3 weeks, the shelving arrived and the installers were just amazing. They were friendly, and highly efficient. The install went in without a glitch and the end result was exactly as I envisioned- maybe even better.I think California Closets really caters to the customer and keeps its word about time and efficiency. I would use them again without hesitation and while I am a very particular sort of person, I say they are probably the best out there for this sort of service.

Designer understood what I wanted and created it on the computer. It came out exactly as expected. I had them back several years later and also had good experience with both the designer and installer. I would recommend them for built ins of almost any kind. Both projects they did for me were relatively simple.

Meghan was great in designing our three closets. The installation went smoothly. The workers were polite, clean and careful not to damage anything. We love the closets! They look even better than we hoped.

Upfront sales process was quick and informative. The installation was excellent. I would definitely use them again. The only reason why I didnt rate a perfect 5 is that the upfront preparation, i.e. removal of old shelves and baseboards is left to the homeowner. Other than that everything was exceptional.

The designer works with the customer collaboratively to come up with designs that solve customers needs. California Closets products can be very customized in most installations. Their installers are conscientious and skillful in precision of the installations. Lifetime warranty policy is also a plus of the company.(Score 10 out of 10)

I liked working with California Closets so much that I have had them back for three projects, each more ambitious than the last. Their designer came up with excellent options, and pushed for the most sensible ones, not the most expensive. Installation was trouble-free and well done. So rare to have this sort of experience with any service. Love these guys.

CUSTOMER LAST! I walked into store today and had a very poor customer experience. Sometimes I think people forget who is serving who. The salesman refused to discuss pricing and insisted I set up an appointment for them to come to my home. Maybe some people want this experience, I do not. Ive already taken my time to come in store to see your product I’d like to understand pricing and options there not at a later date while I try to carve out time to have strangers into my home. In a customer first age I think califonia closets has entirely missed the mark in their business model. Not to mention the salesman was rude and condisending. I wanted to remind him dude you sell beds.

The designer was responsive and creative. Installers were top-notch. The entire company also gets high marks for replacing 9 drawers with a larger size, when smaller drawers proved inadequate. The drawers were replaced without argument and at no cost.

The design consultant shared her vision for how best to utilize a small space. She maximized our storage and provided a beautiful design for our bedroom.

Would give these guys -10 stars if we could. They did not listen to what we wanted or asked for in a garage cabinet design. The designer, whose name I would love to use, but will give her her privacy by not naming was absolutely HORRENDOUS!!!! And the cost of these cabinets were out the roof expensive for what they are! Had a great experience with CA cabinet back East, but total opposite experience here. Learned a tough lesson that we have to go down into the garage with the measurements in hand and measure out exactly what is being drawn up. We figured since she was the designer and we told her what we wanted that she drew this in the plans. The drawings were not clear in what length she had drawn. The measurements were there, but confusing, as well. She kept blaming her mistakes on us saying we signed off. Did not realize she had shortened what we wanted by 42 until after they were installed and only went 1/2 way down the garage wall, when 2 of us had stood there saying the cabinets should go all the way down the wall with an area for a desk for a teenager to do art projects. She, also, had initially measured the slope of the garage wrong and the installers come out and can not install it the way it was designed. So, all this space is lost because the cabinets have to be put up as high as possible on the legs to make it look ok. Which is about all it looks, is just ok for around $20,000. She was a nightmare from the beginning and this whole situation with CA cabinets has been a nightmare. Horrible! She will not own up to any of her mistakes at all and now they will not rectify the problem. This designer should be fired!There is another company that charges the same price for much better made garage cabinets, more of them, with excellent design team and great customer service, but did not find out about them until it was too late. They are out of OR and their cabinets are amazing! I would not go near CA Cabinets ever again.

The in home design consultation was such a luxury and it really helped facilitate ideas!
