Visit the museum or not; the Store is a must visit; especially if your house can make use of some modern decor.Items are not even expensive.
The SFMoma Museum Store has some cool items that are perfect for gifting to art enthusiasts! I saw some really cute clocks for kids rooms, as well as art books, and architecture books. They also carry some socks that benefit various non-profits and different causes.
Its a tough act. Too many things there are simply gift shop level without being special compared to what is available so many other places (including of course, the web). On the other hand, it has both prowess and a huge advantage when it comes to giving you something you want to take home from the exhibit that you just saw, or naturally, from the permanent collection.
Great gifts products, books at good prices! Some expensive fancy jewelry and scarves I cant afford but someday. Lovely helpful staff. Beautiful convenient layout.
So many tempting things! Great variety of creative items for both adults and kids. Nice that you can access it directly from the street without having to enter the museum if you just want to shop.
When you actually look forward to exiting through the gift shop. SFMOMAs gift shop is an extraordinary collection of books and gifts. Highly recommend spending some time in the shop if youre planning a trip.
If you are looking for a unique, art inspired gift, or collections of well documented images, especially regarding lesser known modern artists, there are plenty of great finds at the SFMOMA ART MUSEUM STORE. Dont just hurriedly browse over its offerings. Instead take time to linger and delve into the books and guides and gifts. You will find many treasures!
The MOMA buyers are brilliant. So many interesting books educational toys beautiful design pieces and great jewelry. I always find brilliant gifts here
Great gift store for everything in the San Francisco museum of modern art and also other design and art items e.g. for electronics, cutlery, lamps, books and childrens toys, jewellery. Friendly staff that are able to help out and provide advice for a broad range of gifts. It also covers special gift items of special collections that are currently on exhibit in the museum.
Not something that I would want to go but just wanted to make my wife happy. She liked it :-)
Great place to get gifts and personal accessories and even some fun childrens toys. I love to check it out frequently to see whats new. They have great member sales periodically also.
Best place for buying souvenirs! Everything is so interesting, well designed and a good quality. I want to buy almost all of it.
Lots of choices. There are two stores inside the museum with the biggest one at the ground floor. There was also a special store at the 4F with the special exhibition. Be sure to check that out as there are unique pieces you wont find in the main store. There are interesting pieces but also some curated pieces you can actually find elsewhere and cheaper so choose wisely what to buy.
You can get some great photographs intje storeSome great books, too. They have reasonable prices. There some interesting, and usual books. Some of their merchandise is stylish, perhaps gift-oriented, and more expensive. Their merchandise is, sometimes, modern and technology, but interesting. Not as expensive as one mght think.
So many things to see, I spent almost 4 hours and would stay more, but I had to go out because the building was going to close. The library is open to visit, no ticket is needed - its small, but I saw a lot of interesting books. The store is also open to the public and I got crazy - incredible books and design products, I wanted it all.
Awesome store, full of awesome stuff. Art prints, jewelry, toys, and clever gifts. Worth spending some time here.
Saw the Magritte exhibit at SFMOMA. It was terrific. Highly recommend. The new SFMOMA does not impress me. Hard to find bathrooms and wandered around looking for the cafe. The food was very good. Dont know what was spent on the new museum but I didnt think much of the architecture.
More than just a gift shop. The Museum Store offers all the usual trinkets you expect to find in a gift shop but it doesnt stop there. Its a mini book store, with books about the artists you see in the museum, as well as books on architecture, color, shapes, and more. Boutique like jewelry is showcased. Along with the usual T-shirts and sweatshirts with the museum logo are high-end designer scarves . But I was most impressed by the tech wall. Something for every techie on this wall. Im not a techie so I wouldnt do it justice, youll have to see it for yourself. So even if you dont have time for the museum, take time to see its store. You wont be disappointed.
This is a museum exhibit in itself! Its a must see! Its thoughtfully merchandised and a feast for the eyes! The staff seem to enjoy working there.
Love this gift shop. Always a go to for jewelry and cards. Has the best Christmas and Holiday cards.
Mostly books. If you are willing to wait a few extra months I would recommend ordering online. They have a much better selection.
This place is an amazing experience. The power of art, books and knowledge poors from every item ! I always fell inspired when I walk around the store. Besides it fells nice to help fund the museum.
One of the biggest mueseum gift shops Ive been in. Lots of fun items, of course, all at inner city gift shop prices.Visiting the gift shop is free as it has its own entrance. The shop has lots of room which makes for nice browsing all of the goodies and unique merchandise.
Much like other museum gift shoppes with art books, artsy gifts, and posters. They had a large selection of Andy Warhol books and posters since they had a Warhol exhibition.
Modern Art Installations And Good Downtown Location Many Interesting Exhibits
I love the gift shop, but my only feedback is that their t-shirt sizes stop at XL and there is an opportunity to go up a few sizes to make sure everyone has an option.
One can always find something unique in sfmoma store.
Huge selection at many price ranges. Wonderful jewelry counter. Staff was enthusiastic!
Worth a visit. Free guided tours by enthusiastic knowlegeable staff who unlock secrets of the art on their tours. Wish I had more time to do all the tours. Beautiful coffee shop with friendly staff.
Wonderful gift shop with a dazzling array of art books, clever gifts, quirky items, post cards and distinctive jewelry.
A fun and quirky place to find a gift for that person who has everything. Although make sure the person youre buying for is a person of the arts. The stuff youll want to buy is out of many peoples budget, there are many items that accompany just about every age range.
Very nice shop you can find all kinds of souvenirs from the museum and local San Francisco goodies.
Excellent gift shop! Local artists and global artisans. Great Shopping for quality presents.
Great place to pick up cool and interesting gifts. They also have great jewelry and artistic items.
Great selection of books. Spent over an hour browsing!!
Better the most museum stores, good selection of the usual licensed and small press products and trinkets. Not enough of truly limited editions or artist collaboration works.
This place has everything an artist could need! I have gone in there once to find some ink for my fountain pen and man did it take me forever to find it! I honestly did not know there were that many different tools and canvases available to artists.
MoMA is amazing. I enjoy the museum store every time I walk in here; sometimes without even going to the MoMA. Every time I walk in here, I find an amazing book or recommendation.
The stuff here is colourful and has some interesting designs and you can easily kill 30 min or more perusing the various Knick knacks and trinkets. Most of it is outrageously overpriced made in China type plasticky stuff. I would have loved to pay those prices for locally or at least made in USA goods. Local artistes were well represented though, which was good. I came in looking for a gift after touring the museum but just could not bring myself to pay that much money for a tiny pin or a magnet. Saw a pretty canvas tote... USD $40?!! No thanks.
Many books and cool things to look at in this store. Be ready to open your wallet though.
Something different. Way over my head sometime. Not sure how some can be art at all. Others were very neat.
Just Beautiful! Design and art books, jewelry and souvenirs on a great price.
It was a cool place little shop on the way out of the museum, but the prices could be better. You can find most of the stuff they sell on Amazon for less or equal cost.
Love the cafe. awesome plsce
So many awesome items for all ages. Great gifts of both big and small size.
Excellent museum store thats good for everything from a quick gift to buying something for your home.
The gift shop has quality jewelry, books, art and very helpful staff. Its always a pleasure to browse there.
Fancy store with wide range offers in art. Perfect source for gifts.
I love this place. They have a huge amount of stuff to choose from. Its a bit loud and crowded on weekends.
Really cool store. Nice Design items, great books and office supplies and things from local artists.
Fantastic selection of art-inspired and design-orientated gifts, but extraordinarily high prices.
Always enjoy the fun design related toys they have there. Only bad thing is I always find something to spend my money on there.
LOVE this place! Brilliant store for gift buying and fun things you didnt know you needed. Great kids stuff, artsy things and good book selection, as well as fun stocking stuffers and not kitsch souvenirs of SFO.
Great selection of books, design items and other art related stuff. Just checking out the two stores there will keep you busy for a while.
Way too many cool and nicely designed items here that you dont need but want. Only that they will cost you a fortune!
A fantastic modern gallery with a wide variety of art. Something for everyone.
I attended a performance at the museum Sunday evening, and just felt so engaged in the preformed. I loved it. Art feed my soul.
Very nice art books, memorabilia and treasures. The museum is spectacular
Best part of the museum! All sorts of awesome stuff, Id come here instead of going to the museum itself.
A great store for finding gifts for others (and for yourself)! Helpful staff.
Nice but must be a fan of modern art
The whole experience was bizarre. I couldnt tell where the exhibits were, let alone what they were meant to express. I saw a bunch of people standing in line, apparently buying tickets for something, but had no idea what for, and none were in the mood to explain it to me or let me line-jump to ask one of the people working there. I wouldve wandered around more, but I was afraid Id wander into the wrong area and be accused of trying to get into an exhibit without paying. Dadaism = 1, Me = 0.
Nice place to find original things
Fun, experience worthy and great gifts for all budgets
The museum was closing as we arrived and we spent over an hour in the gift store! Terrific retail entertainment!
Best museum store Ive attended. Tons of fun trinkets
This was on the best Modern Art Museums I have been to. Be ready for a few hours of touring though.
Nice gift shop with a good selection of quality items.
Fun abd different experience. I recommend it.
Lovely things available at the store and great attention from the personnel
Very cool little store, but quite pricey.
Wonderful museum. Great modern art
Interesting choice of merchandise. A bit pricey.
This is a review of the store, not the museum. The museum itself gets 5 stars. The store has a great selection like you find in most good museum stores. I am downgrading this review because of the customer service. I pointed out that a Vasa sculpture I wanted to buy had subtle scratches on it - the only one they had left was the display model (which had been handled). The sales person agreed with me, but his supervisor did not. I was shocked about how rude she was, saying she could not see any scratches, locked the case up and refused to speak with me anymore on the issue.I recommend you buy items online that you see there and not at the store itself - Milwaukee’s online art museum has many of the same items SF MoMA has and their customer service online has been outstanding as well as their prices and selection. This supervisor needs new glasses and a course on customer etiquette - I’m disappointed that my 1st day of annual membership at SF MoMA ended with this experience.
One of the best attractions in SF. Definitely worth the visit
One serious store! Kids section is awesome with high end toys and quality books and games
Great Museum the Andy Warhol Exhibit was great.
1at time here loved the place
Loved it! great exhibitios and the architecture is just magnificent.
