Nice museumSaw Botticelli to Braque collection which included works of many famous artists (although just one Botticelli painting while I was hoping to see more), and permanent exhibits covers creations from all over the world.Closes early on a weekend (5 pm is still a mid-day for an active tourist), but turned out 1.25 hrs. for special exhibit and most halls is enough (unless you do an audio tour or read every description).Visited April 2015

Excellent store within the museum. Love their books which coincide with the rotating general exhibitions. They also have great cards and calendars. Staff working at the store are always kind and helpful.

Surprisingly good value for a museum store - it might be worth joining just for the member discount and the occasional extra deals. check out the unique to america line of watches for women. if you want a little gift for under 100 you will find things that look like they should be much more expensive.

Lucky San Francisco has on loan an exhibt on loan from Paris France, the expressionists. Go see it now 01/15/2011 it will return to Paris, never will be in U.S.A. again. A flight to Paris and tickets will be needed. The best of S.F.

Bought an awesome mobile from this place years ago. Took forever for them to get it in stock but it was a great deal.

Beautiful museum with a great permanent collection as well as interesting visiting exhibits.

I came here with a group of kids. they people were friendly and understanding. they were very patient with the kids.

The de Young is a fantastic museum. Membership is well worth it if you live in SF

The view from the top is amazing! One of those hidden SF gems.

Good quality, expensive. often crowded, and the displays are nice when people havent been moving pieces to look at them. decent book selection in the book section, however.

Worth the visit.

Souvenir shop typical of any museum or restaurant belonging to chains or national park. A standard here in the USA.The prices are simply absurd: its frustrating to pay $ 15 for a plastic breakfast napkin (those that usually cost $ 2), or $ 30 for a t-shirt worth 5, just because they bear the museum logo. But the items on sale are thematic compared to the museum exhibition, and therefore the prices rise.However well organized and kind cash staff.It is located on the ground floor of the museum and still worth a visit.

The place is fine especially when you go up to the last building it looks beautiful from above
