Great variety of genres, lots of recently published books and some older ones too, and a variety of gifts, some locally themed. Very close to good eats and drinks.
The Bookstore is great to have in our neighborhood, and I continue to order from them but today wasnt great. CA is open again, Im fully vaccinated and willing to wear a mask where ever its clearly posted to do so.This morning I walk in from the Ferry Building look for signs outside the Book Passage saying Wear A Mask and didnt see one. ( why because its on a small piece of posted behind the door and the doors are wide open so you cant see it) I walk in and one of the employees behind the counter is wearing a mask the other employee isnt. So with no signs clearly posted, I assume this to mean ( its up to you if you want to wear a mask or not) I walk around the bookstore for 10 minutes and nobody tells me to put a mask on. Then a different clerk walks up to me and some other random customer and points at both of us and loudly and rudely says Both of you need to put a mask on now!In no way do I have a problem following shop policy but the shop policy needs to post it clearly outside the shop when entering. And, if a customer misses it, and CA is open then, not pointing at people (rude) and politely stating ... excuse me we are still asking customers to wear masks in a pleasant tone. Would be great and less evil librarian.Other than this employeeMy old review still stands.Ive been shopping here through the pandemic, I have time to read again which is great. The booksellers are knowledgeable about their books and can make great recommendations. Im glad I stopped shopping with amazon and just walk down the street.
I bought here very intresttin book, when I read it I was pleasantly excited.
Glad the book store is open during covid. Great escape from reality and cant beat the view of the bay.
Not a huge fan of the highly political agenda promoted in the childrens section.
Was really nice, cute bookstore. Found some really cute items for gifts and some really unique political items too. Take your time when you go in and make sure you check out every nook and cranny.
Lovely book store with alot of fun and unique cards and gifts. It has socks, pins, toys and much more. The store is located inside the ferry Building and has a beautiful view out onto the water. The staff are very kind and helpful. It has an old world charm and even though it is not the biggest bookstore you could spend hours just wandering around the place.
Book passage is an authentic independent bookshop with amazing customer service always willing to point you in the right direction for a new read. The kids section is a great little nok for a last minute gift or a way to entertain the little humans while showing out of town guests the area. Highly recommend the based in San Francisco selection for a fun way to learn/enjoy San Francisco.
Terrific bookstore. They have many many authors coming through. Buy their books.
A great selection if books, a comfortable environment and friendly staff.
Awesome bookstore, support local independent bookstore is very important for the health of our communities
A great place to hang out and read new and used books. It has a seating area outside the Petes so is perfect for a burning a couple of hours with a coffee and a good read. Very eclectic selection that you wont find in many other places.
I love this bookstore. Its like the buyers are inside my head. The book selection doesnt feel like your standard offering - the offerings feel carefully curated. Somehow even though its a small shop, it feels like a wide selection.
Cool bookstore with some good picks. Walked out with a new read.
Great place to come to browser books and see and author meeting the staff is very friendly and parking is plentiful
I had an hour to spare on Sunday morning and was looking for a nice place that opens at 9am. I drove here only to see they open at 10am... Foursquare, Google Maps, and their site say they start at 9am on Sundays. Good job on updating your potential customers and thanks for wasting an hour of my life.
Great selection and really cool workers.
Amazing place. Glad to see independent bookstores thriving. Great selection of locally focused books, too.
Try Guys was a blast and the Book Passage were the perfect hosts.
Small bookstore with a wonderfully curated selection of books leaning toward fiction and learned topics. The cookbook selection is small but gorgeous.
Although the folks in this store are nice, they deceptively include books on their website that are not in their store. They do not communicate this on their website and I think it is a very under handed tactic to get people to come to your store - only to be disappointed you dont have the book you displayed on your website. One star review for that.
This was a neat little store, but was mostly a place for mainstream books in a pretty big market area. It was nice to browse though.
Big thumbs up to the place! If youre lucky you can pick up some good used books and the price you pay for it goes for charity.
Nice local bookstore. Friendly staff, great author events, and a very good childrens section.
Great book store. Staff super friendly and knowledgeable!
Great little bookshop, always a pleasure to browse among its shelves! They have nice author events too, and staff have always been helpful to me.
Small store, but theyve got what you need. From novels, to childrens books, to SF themed birthday cards. This place is great!
Cute bookstore with lots of little-known authors.
Love reading? Come here! They also have a little book stand calling you to read!
Great bookstore. Smaller than the mother store in Marin, but still an excellent selection of new books.
Nice place to browse. I would visit again.
Lovely hidden gem inside the Ferry Building.
Great bookstore. Support it. Bookstores are a dying breed and when they are gone we will be a poorer nation.
Good selection of books, however when I went in there, books were all over the place. They need better system.
Never went there.
U get interesting reading here.ask nick
Books that highlight San Francisco and it’s history (among others). Also has a selection of travel guides, stationery and a kids section. They also hold regular book signings and other events.
Always has been a great store, but beware of a certain aged employee who has a bad attitude towards customers.
Lovely and there are some nice souvenir stuffs
