Im from the east coast so Im late to this party but Barebottle has quickly skyrocketed to being one of my favorite breweries. Theyre brewing up plenty of varieties, one better than the next, so theres a style for everyone (current personal favorite: Strata Bing Strata Boom). Whether you live in SF or youre just visiting or youre lucky enough to have a friend from SF willing to stock up for you when they visit the east coast... enjoy.
One of the best breweries in SF!!Great, fun bartenders. New & super interesting beer flavors everyday! Brilliant, punny names to the beers they make.Love to play arcade games and shuffleboard there. The best part is that it’s in a neighborhood, away from the city’s hustle-bustle.. so the crowd is more family-friendly.Plus, it’s dog friendly, kids friendly.
Great outdoor patio during Covid era. The beer and drink choices here are delicious. I’ve never really enjoyed shandiesbut these are delicious. My friends and I brought a board game and the waitress helped us secure a table big enough for our board game which was awesome. It was a great low key night which was super enjoyable. Also they have plenty of heaters! If you’re looking for a low key place to hang out this is a great place.
Love their sour beers. Great outdoor seating and service. Dogs allowed inside too which is a plus. Great place to hang out on the weekend!
Great beer, rude service, and our server took cash from our table. One server that brought us the beer was straight up rude, could be understandable if he was having a bad day but once he was back at the bar he was laughing and cracking jokes with one of the other bar backs. The main issue I have though is before our bill was paid, while were sitting at the table the server took cash off of our table. Everyone at our table was shocked. I ended up tipping on credit card, and when I asked him if we could have that cash back he smiled and said not at this moment...
The service is horrible the beer is good. Went one time for my friends birthday and purchased a beer to get started. The beer was around $2. The cashier got upset that I tipped the standard 18% which came down to a few cents. She wanted me to give more than what beer was worth. For what? Handing me the can? Then we couldnt drink the beer we purchased at your location? Never going back. Plenty of other places around even if the beer is good.
The beer is good but it always packed with dog and it can be very annoying. The dogs are nice but people behave differently when there are dogs and can be super annoying. The game arcades are great is they were cleaned. Some keys were stuck by some chips or other sticky substance (that is kinda gross).Overall this place is nice but could be nicer if people were nicer and more respectful.
Was in the city having my car worked on and had a few hours to kill. Came here. They have a HUGE space, beer, wine, coffee and arcade games! Open early, too, as part of their co-working space concept. Really enjoyed the visit. They are dog friendly, too! Oh, and cats. Lots of cats walking around the brewery. Really enjoyed the visit and will be back. Cheers! 🍻
Great space to bring a group of friends together! Bring your own food, order some brews and hang out. They’ve got picnic style benches, games, food trucks and most importantly an endless supply of good craft beer! The only issue we have is with parking. Its located on a busy and steep decline so finding parking is always a challenge. On the bright side; they allow dogs and babies.Tip: Carpool/ride share recommended since parking is a challenge.
Great beer. Wish they would diversive their styles of beer brewed here.
Wide open warehouse style brewery. Lots of seating, some arcade games and pinball to play. They have food vendors nightly as well. The beer selection is like 16 beers which is nice. They do crowlers and have some bottled/canned beer. The place is kid and dog friendly as well.My wife and I both got flights here and we enjoyed the beer. My standout was their Coffee Golden Ale, it had a nice coffee flavor that I very much enjoyed.
In terms of local brews, Bare Bottle is a great bet! On the other hand, it can be very crowded and in my experience the service is sub par. For example, I recently went for lunch and beers with some friends and the four of us were sat at table that was more suitable for two people (when we made our reservation over a week in advance.) The staff made us feel like the fact that our beers and food didnt fit on the table was our fault, they werent very attentive, and the host was a bit rude when our reservation was up and we just needed to run to the restroom before leaving. I was really disappointed because this is one of my favorite spots in Bernal. If you come to Bare Bottle, make sure you have a reservation and dont be surprised if the service isnt super attentive.
They are open during these times. Have a nice outdoor patio now. They always have eccentric beer selection, mine was called cosmic brownie and had hints of marshmallows which sold me lol. If you like stout highly recommended 👍🏼 They have dif food trucks out every week, ended up getting elote with flaming hot Cheetos which as just what I needed 😋👌
Awesome vib, spacious - can see the brewery equipment, nice bar, old school video games. Loved the beer, one of our favs, lots of variety! Husband’s favorites are the hazzys, stouts are mine. Lots of folks with their kids. Great place to hang with friends and family for sure. No food but do have food trucks (calendar listed on their website). When in NorCal, we will be back!Only downside is parking.
A great spot if you like sours and arcade games
CONCEPT AND BEER IS GOOD but there is a MANDATORY 18% GRATUITY if you drink here during corona and, of course, CA law says you have to buy food with your drinks so keep this in mind when ordering. zoom in to read the VERY VERY fine print on the bottom of the menu with small writing.. please consider paying your workers a good hourly wage (or hazard pay) so you dont have to subtley nickel and dime your guests. there are only a couple people working so its really basic decency and not a lot to ask for. and please properly advertise your tipping procedures so they arent a surprise to your guests upon checkout, this causes unnecessary tension for your hard working employees who are already doing a lot rn to help keep your business afloat. thank you for the good beer!
March 2019:Love coming here. Super crowded because the 🍺 is fantastic! Lots of hazy IPA options! Food truck menu was great. Super Philly cheese steak sandwiches.March 2018:Had some good tasters. The palesforce pale ale, nitro chai espresso macchiato stout and the Simcoe dust IPA stood out as the winners.November 2016:Had a city beer run event here. Great selection of beers. The Muir woods IPA is a favorite of mine.
Poor service!!Is it too much to ask for cleaning the table? The guy was so rude. I politely asked him to clean the table because the table is sticky and dirty. He gave me a smirk and barely did anything.
I wanted to like this place but the beers just arent good. Im a DIPA / IPA / Pale fan (which is the majority of their menu) but their offerings all tasted like watered-down, off versions of each other (not enough distinction between beers, and a weird undertaste running throughout). No options for dark beer fans except a single stout.
I dropped by when Outer Orbit was around, had the most delicious chicken sandwich ever. Nick at the front counter helped me pick out the best bottles and hazys around. He was super knowledgeable and helpful. I picked up a teku glass and the graciously wrapped it carefully for my journey home. Really awesome place, I can’t wait to revisit and play some pinball.
One of those places I should really keep a secret because I love it and I dont want it to get overcrowded. This place feels like an escape from the city - its bright, its open, its quiet, the beer is good, the people are nice... theres not much more you can ask for. Lots of beers on tap, you can order a taster or a full one, and they even have snacks & food trucks to sustain your hunger over a day of drinking. My only gripe? Though its an unfair one, I wish they served something other than beer. While Im a big beer person, not all my friends are, which means Im limited in my ability to come hang here! Just need a glass of wine or champagne to appease the others...
I REALLY REALLY hate to give this place 1 Star because their beer was excellent!! There was one bartender that was very knowledgeable and friendly. I was so excited about my flight of beer and the wide variety they had! However, that was short lived! The locals that visit this place are rude to visitors. Not only did they make fun of us out of towers who thought it exciting to take photos on their adventure but then they proceeded to do so with what Im guessing is the security guard. As someone that comes from a long history of customer service I know what it feels like to close for the day and still have people in your establishment eating and drinking! You are ready to go home, you are tired, you are aggravated that someone came in as late as they did etc. I know first hand that the list goes on. However, when you work in customer service and you ACTUALLY enjoy it and working with the public, you suck it up and put on your best face for your patrons! This was not the case here. The same security guard that was friends with the rude locals proceeds to approach us at 15 till 9 to remind us they close at 9. RUDE! (Im well aware you close at nine and trust me I know you want to go home so I didnt plan to hold you up very long anyways!) but then as the clock gets closer to 9 a bartender proceeds to stops at our table (note: Im rather overly observant so I noticed the locals at the end of the bar whom still had beer and one with food in front of them werent reminded of the time and that they needed to hurry up and finish!) Nevertheless, I understand that not all parts of this world know what southern hospitality is or hospitality at all!If you do decide to check them out just be prepared to leave as soon as the clock sticks!
Izzy’s food truck ran out of food by 6:00 pm on Sunday this place closes at 9:00. If someone invites you for dinner here, you should make other plans. There are plenty of other places for a craft beer in SF and if your hungry they have food too. What a brilliant idea.
Teachers love Barebottle! It’s a very short drive from our school and we often love to come over for a drink and a bite to eat after a long day of teaching! The space is beautiful, kid and dog friendly when we want to bring our own kiddos, and has great drinks. We are super thankful however, because we were recently planning a retirement event for an amazing teacher who has been teaching first grade for 30 years and Barebottle stepped up and so graciously offered to donate use of their event space – which was ideal for the event! They let us bring food in, helped set up the space, and were all around lovely hosts. Thank you!!!
Kids and dog friendly brewery. Very good beer and a fun vibe. There are some arcade games you can play and you can also bring your own board games/snacks. They don’t serve food but there’s an asian fusion food truck out front.
Some of the best beers in the City
Some of the best sours and stouts in the bay area hands down
Are they offering growler refills?I like this place, but find their offerings during COVID-19 unclear and vague on their website and calling. No way to get a live person on the phone.
+Great beers and selection, friendly staff, indoor/outdoor, large, Philly cheesesteak food truck is great! Pinball machines, kids allowed until 7:30, fun events.-Loud live music, wanted to charge $25/hr/table to reserve space for people to spend money at their business, location very hilly to reach on foot.
Great beer! I dont think I had one that I didnt like and my fiance and I had 16 different beers (3 flights and a single). I think I want to come back to try out the coffee!
Simply the best brewery in San Francisco.
Awesome beer, founders, and venue. And food! Which is smartly brought in via food truck - folks that actually specialize in food instead of beer-then-food. Bonus: games for adults and kids. The best part is they are likely to have the most diverse and experimental tap rotation in the city, as they will be featuring community-sourced beers. I love the staples, but there isnt much that is more satisfying than discovering a new flavor that does it for you.
Totally love this place. It defines neighbors brewery. Theres always a food truck,b get is amazing and people can just come as you are. Kids are fine here during the day which is great, but at night is a grown up spot. Love it here!!
Cool beer destination. Beer fans will be stoked on a the sizeable beer list and non beer fans have a good amount of distractions like ping pong and video games. Seating is a mix of shared tables and tables for 4.No kitchen but the place features food trucks which means never being bored of the menu.
My first going but very much enjoyed the time. A lot of good tasting custom beers. Good food from the food truck. If you enjoy the taste of a cold beer then I recommend going
Visited 2 years ago, wish I lived closer, loved the beers and the vibe.
Always something new on tap here. They go through such a quick rotation of world class beers that Im afraid of not visiting often enough, for anxiety over missing beers I will never get to try again. Bare Bottle is absolutely killing it. Must Visit. They are bottling Galaxy Dust IPA, and Muir Woods IPA, which are terrific and I can find them in multiple bottle shops and at Whole foods around town. But you HAVE to visit to see what they are up to. Those two beers are only the tip of the iceberg. Hoping they start bottling or canning more stuff in the future. My favorites are the various Dust Series IPAs, showcasing classic or new hops in full glory, super cleanly brewed and not bitter. Just heaps of hop flavor and aroma.I think this is the very best brewery in SF, hands down. Killing it.
This place has an inspired beer list, a parking spot right out front for food trucks and games galore. Its kid-friendly at certain hours, and people bring their dogs. Theres lots of fun to be had here.
Excellent brews. Great space. Food truck. Kid friendly until 8 pm. Friendly staff (unless your kids are overly rambunctious). = )What more can you ask for?
I visited Barebottle Brewing Company during a beer tour sponsored by the SF Brewers Guild. It was our last stop and I really enjoyed it. The brewery is huge inside and has a nice layout for tasting. The bartenders were probably one of my favorite things. They were so easy to talk to and a real pleasure to have as company while were drinking. Extremely personable and friendly. My favorite beer was the Any Beans Necessary Golden Coffee Ale. This experimental beer was amazingly smooth and delicious to drink. Im still thinking about it weeks later. Its a Golden Ale fermented with whole Coffee & Vanilla Beans. It has vanilla and coffee aromas: berry, chocolate, roast, and nuttiness.Truly delicious. The Cherry Tart Monster was a close second. It was their sour offering and fit the bill as a Cherry Kettle Sour. Sour beers in California have a really different composition than sour beers in Florida and thats a fun thing to experience. Cherry just makes sense.Everything else I tasted was also great. I would really love to go back here sometime and hey maybe someday one of their beers will end up on tap in Florida. One can dream right?
This place makes some really awesome beers! As a fan of the hazy IPA I appreciate that they usually have more than one of that variety at any given time. Place is huge with lots of games and large tables. Great for groups. Beware that there are constantly kids running around. Like, a lot of kids.
The beer was great - as was the service - and the space is very large and accommodating. I recommend the sours, but I really enjoyed the Pastry category beers as well as the Specials!
Always great beer. Great location/venue. Have varied food trucks.A little disappointed that children (12.5 years old) were asked to leave by 8pm. Have never seen signs about this rule but it took the wind out of the sails of our evening
Barebottle Brewing Company is a fabulous San Francisco Brewery with awesome beers, a super knowledgeable and friendly team and a great atmosphere. On some days/nights they have local food trunks which is a super fun way to enjoy yummy beer with some delicious food. I recommend Barebottle for any beer lovers wanting a cool, lively atmosphere and scene with great beer!
Barebottle is an awesome brewery with plenty of seating, plenty of beers (from Hazy IPAs to sours), some cool arcade games, and lots of dogs! You can open up a tab at the front and either get a flight (which comes with 4 fairly generous pours and a cool, branded flight holder) or get 1 beer per person at a time (its the house rule!).They rotate their taps often so if youre a regular, you will still have new beers to try! Theres always been a food truck outside, some sort of snack food inside (empanadas or something), and plenty of liquid bread to go around. The brewery itself is impressive with all of their top-of-the-line equipment inside for you to see. You can reserve the back space or one of the rooms if you call ahead (there may be minimum spend involved). If you love one of their beers a lot, ask them how you can take some to go!
Excellent beers, fun atmosphere. Dogs are allowed and BYO food is allowed, which makes this place even better. They have food trucks outside, but theres also pizza and other takeout places around town. One downside was that the music was very loud so we had to talk louder to hear each other. I came here with a group of 7 others, and we were able to get a table to ourselves but the table was very wide and made it so you could only really talk to people who were sitting next to you, not across from you.
Great spot, though not too convenient. Its a new brewery, but their beer is very solid, and I expect great things from them in the future. They have a great space, and lots of it - this is an awesome spot to hit on a weekend, particularly if they have a good food truck there.
Nice venue, large enough to host many different parties simultaneously. On a cold SF day they manage to keep the temperature decent. Well done
One of the best breweries in SF!
Not really sure what the rave about this place is. The beer is decent I guess...nothing spectacular that I couldnt get at any other brewery. The thing that ticked me off was that they only have two cash registers, and they operate based on the cashier also being their bartender, which means they only have two bartenders. They also let people taste test the beers...AT THE CASH REGISTER... meaning a huge line forms while we all meaninglessly stare at a wanna be beer connoisseur. That system does not work. I waited 15 minutes for a beer...FIFTEEN MINUTES... They also had a party going on in which little kids were running around and into everyone. Ive got nothing against a nice party with happy kids everywhere but maybe not at a brewery while drinking beer. The one upside is that the place is pretty big and nicely set up, plus they have corn hole and other games like ping pong and a tiny shuffleboard. But probably wont be back.
Nice chill place to try some great local craft beers. On a recent Sunday morning before the masses arrived enjoyed the chill vibe with some rocknroll as well as punk classics playing here. The Mosaic Sour Drip was a quality sour ale. Enjoyed meeting a kitty (see photo) who seems to be a local celebrity. As you can see from the other photo groups do also come here, as do numerous parents with baby strollers, so expect an eclectic mix of all ages! Plus its pet-friendly, so youll see the local doggos too
Fun place for a relaxing afternoon. Good beer if you like pale ales or just trying a wide variety of beers.
Seems like a pretty fun place. Large selection of house beers, pinball, video games including a 10-player game, lots of space, different food trucks (I think), and probably lots of other stuff. They fill growlers and crowlers. And... I dunno what else. I only been there once today, but Im a mile away in st marys so Ill be back lots
Great spot, parking is pretty rough at least on a Saturday. Nice selection of tasty beers. Looks like there is usually a food truck, and its kid and dog friendly.
Favorite brewery in the city, bar none. Constantly updating their beer selection. Friendly staff. Perfect place to hang out with friends or catch a game. Check out the drone racing on Tuesday nights!
