I had a wonderful hair experience with Her.She discussed my hair goals and gave her recommendations before beginning. She washed and massaged my head with an amazing brush, which I loved! She razor cut my hair so beautifully, and balanced me out just right. She showed me how to style both straight and/or air dry.She gave me all the information for the products used, but I never felt pressured to buy on the spot. She did recommend a stylist for color, which I will be booking just before my next cut.If you’re on the fence about trying her out, just go make the appointment, you won’t be disappointed.

I scheduled an appointment with Sabrina after a friend went to see her - and Im so glad I did! She gave me an amazing cut. She asked to see my inspiration pics, we talked about my hair routine and the styling I will/will not do realistically on a regular basis. She took into account my face shape, the different directions my hair waves - it was super thorough. Then the actual haircut was super fun! She is great to talk to and the time absolutely flies. She did a great job and I have been getting nonstop compliments. I will be going back to her, and telling my friends to do the same!

I highly recommend Sabrina Tsang! She gave me one of my best haircuts of my life (not an exaggeration). It was my first time at David James and getting my haircut/styled by her. I had my first appointment with Sabrina (@similakchyld on the gram) and am very happy with the results. After looking at her instagram you get a really good feel of her work, and I felt comfortable letting her take over with minimal guidance from me. She works with your face shape and daily routine to give you a great cut that you can also style at home. Highly recommend for a cut! As for the salon space itself - very clean and good ambiance.

I had been looking for the perfect hairstylist to not only give me a shaggy mullet, but also feel safe to visit during the pandemic. Sabrina ticked off all my boxes and I am so happy she exists! She listened carefully to what I wanted and would ask more detailed questions throughout the cutting process, making sure we were on the same page. She also gave really good instructions on styling and explained what she was doing with her hands so that I can replicate it on my own. She’s also super chill and hilarious and I felt at ease with her. Definitely going back to Sabrina!

Sabrina is incredible! I was super nervous about having my haircut for the first time after a year & a half, but my experience with Sabrina put me totally at ease. From the start she asked me great questions to find out what I was looking for in a style & was incredibly helpful in offering her own vision & interpretation of my thoughts. I have (had) very long, thick, wavy hair that can be a challenge for some stylists but Sabrina is such a professional and knew precisely how to handle my hair. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience and I’m so happy with how my hair turned out.

Ive been getting my haircut by Sabrina for at least a year now. Shes wildly talented. I come into the appointment with vague wants and ideas, and she knows how to take those and turn them into something beautiful, stylish, and cohesive. She listens very well to what my preferences are, but also can take a creative lead if need be. My haircuts from her are honestly the best cuts Ive ever had in my life. I just wish I had known about her sooner!

Sabrina is a hair wizard. She’s given me the best haircuts of my life and low-key changed it as a result. Aside from her perfectionist shear skills, she listens carefully to what you want, reads between the lines of what you’re saying, and gently offers her vision of what will flatter you. Sabrina was so sweet and funny and so knowledgable about hair. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my grown-out pixie besides make it less mullet-y and she gave me a super cute mini-bob and also lots of options for what I might want to do in a new months after it grows out more. And she did some fun styling at the end to make my normally silky-straight hair super wavy and textured and floofy :)) Will definitely be back!!

After looking at her Instagram account (similakchyld) I had a feeling I would like her hair artistry and that feeling was more than confirmed. I dont live in SF but will return twice a year for appointments with Sabrina; shes really wonderful. I am so happy to have come across Sabrina! It’s rare that you find an inspo pic on instagram and can get a haircut from that same exact person/salon! Sabrina was easy going but super professional - she really knows what she’s doing. Even though it was my first haircut with her, I could trust her and left feeling so stoked about my new hair and the curtain bangs are perfect. I love how she really cares about teaching you how to style your hair. I don’t remember the last hair stylist that took this much care & consideration not just during but for post maintenance without forcing any products. Also I appreciate that the price is reasonable and not off the charts like some salons in LA.Can’t wait to go back in a few months. Def an asset to SF/LA hair scene. She’s the holy grail yall!

I am in awe of Bo’s color correction skills! She has a magic touch. I came it with severely damaged, white blonde hair with brassy bits, dark patches, and streaks (done by another salon).Bo carefully assessed everything and came up with a game plan that she discussed in detail. She then did a combination of lowlights, balayage/highlights and tint to completely bring my hair back to life and back to looking natural.So grateful to have found Bo!Lia cut my hair and also did an excellent job! She got rid of all the split ends and took off 4 inches of damage without it being traumatizing :)Thank you girls!

This is primarily a review for Stevie and Frank. I have been going to them for my color and cut, respectively, for about 1.5 years now and I adore them! Stevie is a wizard with color. I had a fairly random request to match my red glasses and she gave me the best color I have ever had, complement my skin tone and eyes perfectly. And Frank! what can i say, he is a master with cutting curly/wavy hair. I have always struggled with my hair due to the waves and thickness but he is patient with it and has given me a style that I can manage at home and maintain the curls even when it grows long and heavy. Highly recommend this team.

Ask for Sabrina if you want a great cut! I followed Sabrina from diPietro Todd to David James and totally trust her with my hair. She added movement to my lifeless locks and gave me tips on how to style my hair on my own.

Scheduled an appointment for my girl to get highlights. She arrived to learn that the stylist they scheduled her with doesnt do highlights. What is the purpose of advanced scheduling if you arent pairing clients with stylists that perform the service requested. We waited over 3 weeks for this appointment only to learn that they didnt do the simple task of properly screening and scheduling the appointment and the best they could offer was an appointment later in the week despite that we specifically scheduled and waited for a weekend appointment. This experience was a frustrating waste of time and well not be back.

David James is a rare combination of awesomely skilled stylists and reception without pretention. Camille does amazing color and cut. Love this place!
