Was really impressed by this bagel, nice crust on the outside and chewy on the inside, lots of lox, good ratio of cream cheese. Really fast pickup after ordering over the phone. Will def be going back, always looking for a good breakfast sando/bagel spot and this one hits the spot.

I have known the owners and Holy Bagel for many years.. They are consistently decent bagels, fine for those picky New Yorkers at much more reasonable prices of some of the new gourmet bagel places. A bialy is filled with onion and a good texture. Overall, for San Francisco, Holy Bagel in Noe Valley has and is a true standard of the neighborhood.

Fast service, straight forward menu, and delicious food! I got a turkey sandwich on a sesame bagel and it hit the spot perfect as I was out and about and needed a quick lunch! Also have to note that I ordered very quickly and they remembered no mayo!!! This is amazing as a mayo hater, theres nothing more relieving than seeing your sandwich made how you ordered it!! Will be back!

Had a pastrami sandwich on an everything bagel that was very sub par. Microwaved pastrami with half melted cheese. Other items might be good, but I would recommend avoiding the pastrami sandwich.

This place is expensive, even for the middle of SF. Do yourself a favor and avoid paying 9$ for a bagel you can get at Noah’s for 3$

These ARE the best bagels (as a bakery) you can get in San Francisco. The closest thing to a NY bagel. No, the staff isnt warm or inviting, yes, they rush you in and out.3 stars because I wish they (or someone somewhere in SF) would cook the eggs & bacon in a pan or flat top and not a microwave.

From the moment you walk in, it’s apparent that these folks don’t mess around. The service is fast & efficient, the bagels and sandwiches are superb, and it’s right by some great public seating and across from the local park

Great bagels. Ok Im just chewing on a beautiful warm bagel from holey bagel and reveling in how delicious they are. I had to update my review to include this note about how if you can get them warm they are extra special. Obviously most of the dozen wont be eaten warm but they are always a treat!

Best bagel in this area. The place is pretty bare bones. The bagels are smaller, but theyre soft on the inside and have a good skin. Service is very quick. I like the pumpernickle with regular cream cheese and most of the veggies. I also like to get the salt bagel with butter, but BE WARNED, their salt bagel is very salted.

Moved here from NYC and thought for the longest time, gee these Left Coasters have no idea what a bagel is... each bagel I try here tastes like Wonderbread. But Holey Bagel makes his on premises, boiled not baked. These are authentic bagels, guys. And the owner is super nice to boot. I pick mine up after 230p when the is a massive discount (but only a few left of what he made that day!)

Been a regular customer for many years... before Charles bought out the old Jewish couple, and before it was Noahs or Manhattan or whatever that was for a little while. All the while Ive seen/felt them nickle and diming to death... now I feel like I need to say something..95 cents for a bagel.10 cents to toast itTheir hours now are sliced down... only open until 2:30 or so...I have been ordering the same thing for years... and recently noticed (as the total went from $10 for lunch, to $13, to $16, now to $22.... that the sandwich I order is cheaper if I order it in pieces ... I asked the owner about this (I will list my sandwich below):Bagel toasted1 slice cheese1 tomato1 lettuce1 mustard -which BTW is not listed as a condiment they charge for1 cucumberThis sandwich according to them costs $4.45 (I will explain below)They tell me that it is equivalent to the following sandwich they sell (the veggie sandwich) which is $3.85 + .60 for the cheese1 bagel (toasted or not)1 lettuce1 tomato1 onion1 mustard1 mayoIf I read their menu which lists the bagel at .95 + toasting .10 + slice cheese .60 + 3 veg @.50 that is NOT $4.45 (uh more like $3.15 which is a $1.30 diff)... when I asked about this the owner got very upset and said that its not meant to be ordered that way and that the extra cost is for the labor involved in making the sandwichAhem... I understand escalating business costs however... this seems to me to be deceptive, as it is not listed as alacarte on the menu, just as add vegetables to your sandwich.Needless to say they still charge me $4.45.

My personal favorite is a Poppy bagel with ham, avocado, Swiss and their house made veggie spread, it is the best combination!!!!!! their bagels are great and they make all their own cream cheese spreads there. the staff is really nice and will always get the order right!!

Take it feom this born and raised Brooklyn NY boy. If you close your eyes when you bite The bagles you would swear you are in NYC.They make the bagles the right way with the same equipment and process. All fresh here not frozen like other places. So if you want a REAL Bagle like in NYC come here.
