Great place to get your car serviced and repaired at reasonable prices. I took in my 2005 Honda Element which (per my Honda dealership) needed new brakes, new shocks, new air and cabin filter, replacement of coolant and steering fluids, and spark plug replacement and valve adjustment. I went to Richardson Automative for a second opinion and Walter helped me prioritize things that really needed to be done now and things that can wait — and the cost was quite a bit less than what the Honda dealership would have charged. Friendly and customer-focused service — as it used to be and should be. Highly recommended.

I knew Walter was a great mechanic from the first minutes of my call to him. I had driven x-country and my Honda CRV developed a very strange shake only at a certain speed and RPM. I explained that I thought it was an electrical problem, spark plug issue. Walters first comment the check engine light would have come on gave me the confidence to bring the car in. Walter took the car for a spin and diagnosed it as an axle issue, he was 100% right. Every step of the way was a pleasure working with him, (he offered two price points on the axles, we talked out the solution) and my car was ready ahead of time. Id recommend the shop and Walter to anyone...just bummed that I live in NY and wont be talking to him more regularly

Best mechanic I have ever worked with. Knowledgeable and really wants to make the costumer happy rather than overcharge or do additional (unnecessary) work. He clearly believes in the long-term relationship with the costumer, which is great to see.

I highly recommend these guys. Twice I took my 10 year old car to them. In one case they identified the problem right away and sent me on my way, for free. In the other case it was body work and given the age of the car they suggested a simple solution that saved me a couple hundred dollars. In both cases they were straightforward and honest throughout.

Richardson Automotive is incredible. I drive an 87 Land Cruiser, which can be challenging to work on because it is carbureted, and they dont make parts for it anymore. Walter, and his team, have always figured out the problems, have always been fair and realistic about solutions, not charged for unnecessary work, and have explained everything.Walter is a great mechanic. But maybe more than that, he is a good person, enjoys the challenge of figuring out mechanical systems, has a desire to be the best he can at his livelihood, and takes pride in his work.We live in LA now and we definitely miss Walter and Richardson. Even still, on any work I can hold out on, I wait until I am back in the Bay to have them work on it.Thank you for the 6 or 7 years you we have been bringing our cars to you!

Walter is the only mechanic I go to. I have been going to him for the past 20 years and I will never change. Walter is not the kind of mechanic that will try to get as much money out of you as possible. He is very honest and is always willing to work with my schedule and my finances. Not kidding. Been going to these guys for 20 Years and they are the best most fair auto shop on the PLANET.

Dont be fooled by the location of this shop. Even though it is located at one of the expensive part of town, the hourly rate is very competitive. My family owns multiple old BMW and we always trust and count on Walter and his team. I have never seen such a honest mechanic as Walter.I am kind of a guy who tries to do most of work on my car at best of my ability. If I get stuck, I usually go Walter for advice. If I cant fix it, my car go straight to him. I usually buy my own parts and just pay for labor but ever since I realized how honest this shop is when it comes to both labor and parts, I just forget about it knowing my car is at good hands.Highly recommend if you have out of warranty European vehicles especially BMW.
