My first experience with Automotive Clinic went smoothly, and I’m thankful that my a/c issue was just a matter of being low v. a leak. They open at 7am and close at 6pm. Helpful when you have an 8am-5pm job. Easy access to public transportation. Larry was extremely helpful and informative. I appreciated his calm demeanor. I will return for future service!

I have taken my cars for service at Automotive Clinic for 20 years, Even after moving out of San Francisco I still bring my car to them for service. I trust Larry Nasey and his team to do good work and also to be honest about what my car needs. They take pictures of what they find and show me. Theyre simply wonderful people, both professionally and personally.

There are few people in any field of business that surpass the professionalism of Larry and his team. I have using them for over 20 years and have never experienced anything short of total satisfaction. Automotive Clinic is amazing! This is the 3rd time I’ve used them and once again, they’ve knocked it out of the park. They’re friendly, have integrity, do amazing work & consistently exceed expectations. Special shout out to their car detailer, who made my car look brand new with a technique called Clay Bar. My car is 15yrs old & was showing the wear & tear of that. My car looks brand new. Bravo! Highly recommend taking your car to Automotive Clinic. You won’t be disappointed.

What knowledgeable, lovely people. My Lexus blew its engine. No fault, #$% happens, not under warranty, still cheaper to replace than to buy a new car. Larry the Service Manager is amazing, knows cars, calm, offered all options. Price was very fair, and they detailed my car! The detail was small in the overall picture, but a very nice touch as my cars engine purred out of the shop.

Collision repair, covered by auto insurance. Repairs took a long time, but this was attributable to delays in arrival of parts. Everyone at Automotive Clinic was courteous, responsive, and professional. They delivered my car, washed, to my home (approx. 1/2 hour drive) when it had been repaired.

I called to have my battery charged. They said it cost $75. A new battery costs $100. When I told the guy who answered the call this fact, he responded first by saying his PGE bill was the reason fir the ridiculous cost and then said that it would take too much room! Needless to say they will not get my business ever.

Hands down the best auto repair concern I have used in 30+ years of owning a car. Larry is the best who will take care of you and your car.

As usual, AC did a superb job on my car; they kept me constantly “in the loop” regarding the repairs, cost and progress. They replaced the alternator for Lexus which is very difficult to do that. Did an excellent work. Also awesome people 😊Thank you Derek and Larry.

We were on vacation and broke down by this shop. AAA referred him and we had our van towed there. He was the only shop open on Saturdays in that area. Larry and his team had us fixed and on the road the next day which was Saturday. Great shop. 👍

Larry is the most trusted and beloved man in the business. It’s rare that one looks forward to their days at the auto shop, but I’m always impressed and appreciative by their whole team. There’s nowhere else I’d bring my car.

Very nice customer service but when I place my van at 8 am just for one tire for vulcanizing and got it 4:30 pm it took 8 hours and 30 minutes not even updating me which means I have to call and text multiple times to update the work and I have to walk 6 blocks twice to check if they’re starting the work . I felt stressed and expensive at $69.83. I’m aaa member but they didn’t gave discount. But the was done good .

Larry and his crew really went the extra mile helping me diagnose and treat an odd electrical issue. They offered advice and help above and beyond my expectations and also proved to be honest and of very good character. I feel lucky to have found such a quality automotive shop here in the city after looking for a number of years. (Of note I found them via AAA as they were the closest authorized shop when I needed a tow.) Thanks so much Larry & crew- its great to feel like Im in such good hands.

They always do a thorough job and are focused on client service. You can always rely on them to make room in their busy garage to ensure your car is attended to right away. The mechanics are top notch and can practically fix anything you ask them too especially with porsches.

Larry and the team are the best! They took the vehicle out and drove it as part of the diagnostic testing and again to be sure it was operating properly before handing it over to me. They are not cheap, but completely transparent in what they are doing. They even fixed a problem I never mentioned and would not let me return home to Mendocino County with what they discovered was the original (now 7 year old) battery. If I lived in SF I would have them do all my maintenance.

I asked for a simple quote over the phone on some work to which I was told “I don’t give quotes over the phone, I need to see the car.” I was never asked what work I needed done or anything more. All I needed was an oil change and my radio antenna replaced… which don’t require to see the car in person. Poor costumer service.

We found automotive clinic due to car trouble in the city and expect to go back for any issues. Honest, thorough and attentive to cost. Larry and team are efficient and on time. Great communication about what is being done and while the job is in process.

They were able to help me out when my car randomly died. Got my car in at 2:30 and was able to pick it up the same day! Staff was great and the gentleman working the front counter was very assistive and helpful.

First, my battery died two blocks away where I live and I walked over and without hesitation or even knowing me- Larry sent one of his guys to assist me in jumpstarting. Truly kind hearted people here. When we realized it was not going to stay revived... they installed a new battery Johnny on the spot for a great price. Larry has worked this entire time through covid at the age of 79 - such a trooper. Good guys here.

I know nothing about cars and have about 6 months left on my lease on a Chevy Volt. The previous two maintenance appointments I had were at the dealership and completely free. I was concerned about what I actually needed done and overpaying for a third service at 31,000 miles. Automotive snuck me in same day and was down the street so I went.Larry explained everything to me including price quotes, sent a diagnostic report before doing any service, and adjusted the price based on my expectations (I really just wanted the bare minimum done). By the end of the exchange, I felt good about the transparency, price, service, and advice.I’ll only use this place for service moving forward and will refer my boyfriend and roommates. Its so hard to find an honest shop that does good work. Im incredibly glad I gave this one a try. Ive never had a better auto repair experience than here. I had an intermittent strange sound problem. As an owner of many mediocre used cars I knew this would be a tricky problem to solve. Another shop couldnt figure it out previously. These guys spent a long time both talking with me about it and driving the car with me. They got me in and did a quality fix quickly. They also sent pictures of the problem. I suggested throwing money at the problem by just replacing shocks. They couldve easily made more money by running with that but didnt. I couldnt be happier with this service.

Service tech was honest and professional. He conducted a diagnostic and did not find any problem beyond a battery replacement.

Larry and his Crew are top notch mechanics and very honest businessmen.I had my car towed in because it wasn’t starting, the mechanics looked at it for hours, testing every possible issue until they found the (very rare) problem (the car was inexplicably missing a fuse). It turned out to be a quick fix and Larry had me on my way for the cost of the diagnostic (which is admittedly a lot of a diagnosis but cheap for the repair). A less scrupulous mechanic could have made up any number of more costly issues and charged me much more, but Larry was honest with me, which I greatly appreciate.

I am so glad I came here. Larry moved cars to make room for my car, since I was the first person to service. Was able to explain what would need to be done and even gave me a quote a week and half earlier, since I already knew what the problem was. For a radiator replacement was only $980. Vs. $1434 the dealership was asking. I brought it Monday, and since they didnt have the exact radiator, waited just the next day for the installation of new radiator all the while being serviced by a nice man, namely Larry. Pls come here for your auto repair needs. Wont regret it!

I called shop to get an estimate to replace a starter. My daughter is a student in SF and I didnt want her going to a shop where they would over charge for services. I asked a direct question.. and they do not provide quotes on their work. They prefer to charge $92.75 for diagnosis prior to quoting service. He offered to tow my care anywhere if we dont agree on service fee.. I didnt need that I have AAA. All I wanted was to assure Im dealing with someone fair and honest. This just seemed like a good old bait and hook.. either way they make their $100 in diagnosing. All shops have books that let them know the amount of hours it takes to do a job.. that X the labor rate.. not that hard. but they didnt even want to provide labor rate.. other reviews complain of too expensive.. If it doesnt feel right.. avoid it.

I had an amazing experience with this company last week in fixing my car. They fixed my car well and very promptly. Excellent customer service from Larry! - great follow up and took time to explain to me the problem. He also offered for me to call him for any other car problems. Highly, highly recommend!

By far the best mechanic I have ever been to, Stacy is extremely honest, I have been going to them for several years and there is a reason they have an unsolicited 5 star. If something will need to be fixed in the future but not necessarily now they wont try and get you to do work you dont need to do now and will let you know what you can hold off on. Great and honest place.

Great auto garage. They give good honest feedback on what a car needs and dont push unnecessary repairs. The work theyve done for me has been good quality.

These people are great. Repairs tend to be a bit on the pricey side, but a fully guaranteed. Invest in a AAA membership, then get 10% off your labor. Honest, work w integrity, TOTALLY trust this outfit! Been going for years!

Although taking your car to Larrys Automotive Clinic can cost you a little more, their services can be recommended. The crew does a great job, calls to ask for approval, doesnt cheap out on parts and offers exceptional service. If needed Id go there again. Yet, I hope I dont need their services anytime soon! :)

Have been going to Automotive Clinic for over five years, he has taken care of two hondas and a ford van . He calls me, suggest the work necessary . And sometimes its less than the estimate . Good service and I trust the crew there .

Terrible business. My car was damaged by Ted and Als Towing, which is owned by the same guy that owns this place. He agreed to fix the damage. I brought the car in and stayed in the waiting room while it was supposedly getting fixed. Two hours later they tell me it is ready to go. I walk outside and they had literally done nothing to the car. Ended up having to leave it overnight. Two weeks after the repair was done the body panel popped back out of place. Emailed the owner and his response was I guess you would rather complain than have your car fixed. Worst mechanic I have ever dealt with.
