An impressively wide selection of staples from many different cultures for such a small storefront- homemade kimchi and deli banh mi are the real showstoppers
Love coming here for when I need to shop specifically at an Asian market. The employees are very nice and variety of products they offer is top notch.
Great selection for groceries, especially for uncommon cultural foods (primarily East Asian but also some South Asian and Hispanic goods as well). Employees are very friendly and checkout is fast.
The worse asian store on earth! You wont find even the simplest asian items at this asian store. And its the closest one in the heart of SF, unfortunately...ugh!👎
Great Bahn Mi!Grocery-wise, I was able to get most of the asian grocery I need for my cooking.
Reasonably priced fresh vegetables and meat. Dry goods can sometimes be low on stock but overall good selection. Service is always super friendly!
Love this supermarket - a hidden gem with some of the best bahn mis in the city. Great for picnicking or adventure days as they hold up well all day. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!!!
Great diverse international selection of produce, chilies, sauces, herbs, ingredients and tools - all at great prices. Plus fresh proteins.
Checkout people are always so cheerful. Excellent place for asian groceries. They even have squid ink ramen, to give an idea of the range of items there. Stocked with everything from Thai to Chinese to Korean.
Their Vietnamese Banh Mi is probably the best in San Francisco.
Very clean supermarket with pretty much everything you need! Reasonable prices as well.
Excellent neighborhood supermarket with good organic produce, milk, eggs, and packaged goods. They also have many condiments, oils, rice, lentils, etc.
If i need anything, this would be the place. Fried taro chips. Vietnamese rice rolls. Pate. Fresh veggies. Fresh meat. Vietnamese coffee (i wish they didnt pre-made). Dont know how long its been sitting there.
They did not sell mooncakes! Disappointing!
Very safe, always masked and requires gloves. Good selection, reasonable prices, friendly staff. Excellent for Asian ingredients. Limited bread and inconsistent quality on produce.
My go to living in the city for Vietnamese and Asian groceries. There are bike stations outside the store to lock your bike and it is on the safer side of the store. I usually go during the day because it looks like it can get rowdy at night
One of the biggest and best Asian markets in the city. Definitely worth a visit, even if just to browse and be curious.
Helpful staff, extremely fresh produce and items I have a hard time finding elsewhere.
Nice place for a quick pick up some grosses or more.Definitely enjoyed my visit ☺️
Great asian/latino grocery. Good prices and all the hard to find at Safeway stuff; also, local business!
This was like ok kind of place. They had little options but for basic items one can try here
Great neighborhood market.
A solid corner grocery store! Shout out to the clerk who kindly double-checked I was wearing the right kind of mask (disabled exhale valve) and that I grabbed some gloves. All the food, cooking, cleaning supplies I need, and great beer/cider/wine/liquor selection.
Fantastically well stocked - lots of good cheeses and fresh organic fruits and veggies missing from most competing storefronts along Mission St.
These guys were well ahead with Covid - they were selling masks for $1 each and offering free gloves at the door. Beyond that, the produce is amazing here, and they often have a lot of more obscure ingredients for sale for our recipes. Well worth the trip, and super nice people there too. Dont forget to try their Bahn Mi sandwich - really legit!
Lovely market, amazing variety of fresh produce, hard to find items. Staff always helpful. Many crazy tweakers outside make it a gauntlet run to the car.
Last week I was looking for a specific brand of gin and though they no longer carry it, the staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with similar brands or other places to check! Thank you for your kindness!
Wide variety of Asian and American products. Lots of Asian produce of varying quality/freshness. Good selection of Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, and other dry goods. Friendly staff. Generally good prices.
Great selection and convenient
Small Asian mart that carries different international items. Very organized and during pandemic they give you plastic gloves when you enter so your hands and their items are protected while browsing the aisles. I buy my salted eggs here and discovered a tabouleh mix that lasted my hubs and I for 3 meals lol. It is located in Mission so keep your wits with ya and enjoy!
I guess you can call it a neighborhood store customer service is great but the cost for what you get on stuff that you really need I would go outside of my neighborhood to like Safeway or food Co but in a rush I would have to go to this place but customer service is good but the prices are too high I gave it four stars only for the customer service
Nice place to buy your items. Cool and friendly staff. I would definitely visit more often.
Lots of hard to find Asian ingredients.
Not a full-sized Asian grocery, but great selection for a shop of its size. Very nice to have one of these in the neighborhood.
The bahn mi are excellent
Fresh ingredients for all the thai dishes you can think of, plus frozen green onion pancakes and a great selection of pastes and sauces.
Great for affordable spices and asian veggies.
I love Duc Loi, they have everything you might want. The meat section is the cleanest in the area and pretty cheap, and the produce is pretty good quality. The store isnt organized very well and finding a reasonably priced option is often non-trivial, but its awesome once youre used to the layout.
At the door, I was forced to put on plastic gloves before entering the store and shopping. I asked was it a store policy. the woman mubled everybody needed to wear gloves. as the place was almost empty with only two other shoppers, the extra precaution seemed a bit overreaching.its shelves seemed stocked and the prices on items like sweet chili sauce seemed good to cheap. otherwise, most all other prices on dry goods seemed exorbitantly high, except rice wine vinegar, and especially pricey on the nonorganic produce.as I reside in the mission, this place was my go to store instead of Chinatown, and for specialty bread. Ill think long and hard before returning here.
Awesome! This Whole Foods is only 3 blocks from me and always has everything I could want. The deli has great sandwiches, and the salad bar is fresh and has a diverse selection. While it can get pretty crowded around 6, it keeps a great selection of fruits and vegetables that are always replenished. The staff here is really friendly and knowledgeable about their food. If I ever have a question about a certain dish Im creating, they seem to point me in the right direction with ingredient recommendations and such. Great whole foods, clean, and everything you would expect.
Nice small local grocery open during Covid-19. One of the only places around SF to get Vietnamese herbs. Sadly couldnt try out the well-known banh mi shop inside since it was closed.
Im... Sorry. The prices were... Painful.
Duc Loi is the best! You can actually find a lot of the same kinds of grocery items (e.g., organics) as you would in Bi-Rite or Guss, but for much less, plus a great selection of Asian foods. And their banh mi are the best - now back to serving every day as of Aug 10, 2020!(And in the pandemic, they hand out plastic gloves to every customer and sell masks at the door to anyone who doesnt have one....)
Great place for produce, and meats. Large noodle selection. Latin to Asian ingredient focus
Great mix of Asian and central American supplies. Handing out gloves to all customers during the pandemic.
The counter intelligence doesnt know from its items too well. To find somebody who does is an arduous chore. This place used to be my go to Asian market in the mission. Seemingly now, its over priced and its produce is less than stellar. Its frozen items are plentiful and the deli sandwiches are tasty and reasonably priced.
This is a great place. There is everything needed here to make Asian foods. Spices, sauces, noodles, etc. Another HUGE plus is that they have parking below the building. It makes it super convenient if youre driving.
Not serious to load the stocks.1,2 pieces only.Always made me disappointed
Conveniently close, but more expensive than other further away options. Im not sure why they leave fruit thats gone bad, in with the unspoiled fruit. Kinda gross. Also: the ground beef tastes funky.
Fantastic local shop with a fairly good variety of ethnic foods. They are changing the interior and looks great. Fairly comparable to the bigger stores. Vegetarians will also find they have a huge variety of soybased products.
One of the best grocery stores in San Francisco. Their banh mi sandwiches are amazing
Great Asian market with some organic non Asian groceries as well. Its as if this market was made for me! Always come when Im in the area
The cashier was very mean and rude.
This is an interesting store. Im always surprised by what I do and dont find here. I find this isnt a very good place to go if you have a list of groceries that you need to check off, but if you want to find some nice meat or some fresh vegetables, it can be pretty good. It has a very small selection of things like paper towels. Mostly youll just find food items.
Such a neat store. I hope to get a chance to shop here again. Great price and great selection of produce!
Almost daily shopper. As a vegan they offer alot of great selections in produce. There are some international items I do wish they carried and would be cool if this location also delivered like the 3rd Street location. Other than that it is a great place for locals to grab some food.
This grocery store practically houses everything I need, no matter what cuisine I feel like. They have Indian/thai/Japanese/Mexican/Isaiah spices/oils/pastes and more. Reasonably priced. Friendly people at the counter.
Great local spot for groceries and alcohol. They have some great Asian pantry staples, but wished they had more Asian items such as those you may find at a 99 Ranch or Nijiya market.
This store has so many great options! So many different types of everything, itll make your head spin. More than once Ive seen so many people excited simply because Duc Loi offers some items that no stores in the location does. It isnt the end all, be all, but its close
Great grocery store, lots of organic products. Bread, meat, vegetables, snacks and delicious prepared food.
Great spot. Everything you need
Nice place to find organic and things you cant usually find in other places
High quality produce. Lots of variety. Especially good for meats and foods from a variety of cultures. There are some really good prices mixed in with higher prices for organic, Whole Foods-style products. I shop here twice a week and they have had everything I have ever needed.
Really good food. Loved their huge chicken sub sandwich that I took on my flight and lasted two whole days. Kudos!
I wish it were bigger but thats my only complaint. Im happy to have a place to find the ingredients for Asian dishes.
I love this little market. Has the essentials and has some pretty really good sandwiches as well!
Really cheap, high quality produce - expensive condiments/sauces, but overall my go-to spot for Asian groceriesI’m here at least once a week for produce or low-price meats. Also to find harder to find items like chicken feet and a large selection of Thai rice noodles and fresh noodles. Also a large selection of herbs. All in all I love this place.
I love this place! Great selection on produce very reasonably priced. Great bonmi is really inexpensive and delicious. Just a great Market with a great selection.
Best grocery store. very nice people.
Review for bahn mi only, didnt really check out grocery store. My vegetarian bahn mi was delicious! So so so good. Great price.
Great international grocery. Great sandwiches. Pricey produce. Fair prices otherwise. Great customer service.
You can find ingredients here that would be pretty hard to find at Safeway or even at Bi-Rite. Lots of imported spices from SE Asia, that kind of thing. I didnt honestly think their meat dept looked very appealing, but they had the correct spices for Vietnamese beef stew so I was happy.
Best Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches in the Mission (and in SF, IMHO but thats for another review).Produce and center aisle stuff is a little pricey compared to other Asian markets, but Duc Loi is a good place to grab groceries and food on the go.The deli sandwiches are awesome and the ladies behind the counter are so nice!
Duc Lol is a great store with a great deli. The deli is my favorite part. They have a wide selection of Bahn Mi sandwiches made fast and to order. Theyre a little pricier than some other places but they hook up a giant serving of everything you would want in a Bahn Mi.The Vietnamese Coffee is also amazing. One of the best I ever tried. The rest of the store has a great selection of groceries and novelty items for almost any taste and budget.A great place to get a heary lunch, a quick snack with a coffee, or do occasional shopping. Flowers are available sometimes.
Decent selection and super convenient location. Support your neighborhood, Mission people!
Bahn mi are legit (although recently heard there was a health code violation). Great store for other stables also
Not a small store. Wide variance of options for packaged, [deli], and produce.
If you need Kafir Lime leaves Curry leaves, Epazote, or other exotic herbs and spices, this is the place to go. Ive been going there for around 20 years and generally always find what I need.
Really nice selection of general and specialty groceries and also decent banh mi (you have to know what you want, pay at the register then bring the recipe to the counter where theyll throw it together (usually just a few minutes)
Great place. I desperately tried to find sun dried tomatoes around the area. With no success. And then, being desperate, I tried this Asian sounding supermarket without much hope. And they had them! And tons of other great products. Great store!
Good selection of Asian grocery items and some other speciality items. Decent produce selection. Solid alternative to bi rite and a step above some of the bodegas.
So their sandwiches are actually good, on that i will give them a 4star. But on the grocery store. The products are too over priced! Saw the same things in safeway or other grocery stores for alot cheaper
Great selection especially Asian ingredients but veggies and meat are not fresh.Duc Lois selection of Asian noodles, wraps, sauces, etc is awesome. I suggest to be extra vigilant when buying fruits and vegetables. Check very carefully. Dont bother buying meet here. It really does not look good.
Always fun to shop at Duc Loi Supermarket. I just love the Chicken Wonton Soup. I get upset when they are sold out of of the Chicken Tikka Masala. Great store with always awesome service.
This is a solid supermarket, but the prices are high. When I need flour and items beyond the typical corner store it is a destination for me on the way back home from work. The produce section is improving and its better to have in the community.
Not immediately obvious where everything is, but the selection is great. Whatever you cant find at the big stores, you can probably find it here, particularly Asian products like spicy bean sauce for mapo tofu.
Good prepackaged food selection! Produce isnt that great.
Veggies are not really fresh but sandwich is exerlent.
Go here for Asian staples that you wont find anywhere in Mission or surrounding areas (ie, curry leaves, Thai chilis and herbs and many authentic Asian condiments). Produce is also generally good, but sometimes youll hit the bottom of the pile. They have a somewhat big meat section but I dont really cook meat at home. Sometimes the place looks barren that you wonder about the freshness, but its so great to have so much choice in a corner market. The made to order Vietnamese sandwiches are ok. The staff are very nice. I think on Thanksgiving they give away hot meals. That alone should be enough support this business.
Pretty big market in the mission. They have a large selection of asian goods, along with many typical American grocery items. Its a nice local grocery store that should not be over looked.
I love this store. I am generally able to find all the ingredients for Asian cooking.
Nice place, delicious Vietnamese foods.
Go to the banh mi deli inside and grab yourself a sandwich on your way to Dolores park, because we know youre on your way there already ;)No, but really the bahn mi sandwich is delicious. The meat is roasted well, and the bread isnt too hard. Its a little tough, but still really good. Be aware though, that they do add a sauce that somewhat resembles mayo, which can make the bread soggy and watery. Otherwise, its really good
Standard grocery store with some good specialty items/herbs from SE Asia. They also have a deli counter with good sandos
Not sure what the hype is for this store. Selection is OK but there is more with better prices at other Asian stores around the city
I like their broad selection of produce. The staff are really friendly and helpful with anything you need.Kudos guys
Amazing market that has both Asian and Latino products. Great prices and great selection!
Duc Loi makes for an easy and full featured super market close to my work, but thats not why Im reviewing them. To be honest, what gets me inside the door more often than not is their cheap but excellent bahn-mi sandwiches. For 5 dollars (Yes! Five dollars!) you can get a classic vietnamese sub with your usual complement of pickled vegetables, jalapenos, pate, head cheese, and the rest. Slid between fresh and crunchy french rolls, that makes for a great lunch on a shoe-string budget.
I love this store .....The Bayview needs to support it. Today I left my Iphone in the restroom and the very nice employee turned it in. Thank you so much. Support this store.
